BJ GACEAU KOMT TERUG NAAR DE KOOI IN NEF 45 TEGEN HAYLEY MARTIN

Voor onmiddellijke publicatie: Portland, Maine (Oktober 7, 2021) - New England Fights (NEF) keert terug met zijn volgende mixed-martial-arts (MMA) evenement, "NEF 45: Uprising," op vrijdag, November 5, 2021, bij Aura in Portland, Maine. Eerder vandaag, NEF kondigde de toevoeging aan van een strogewichtgevecht voor amateurvrouwen aan de strijdkaart.BJ Garceau ontmoetHayley Martin bij een gevecht gewicht van 115 pond.

Het gevecht zal Garceau . zien (1-1) terugkeren naar de NEF-kooi na een afwezigheid van drie jaar. Ze maakte haar debuut op "NEF 32" in februari 2018 met een split decision overwinning op Sarah Ziehm (1-2).  Garceau verloor vervolgens via technische knock-out van Chelsea Tucker (3-3) in de derde ronde van hun gevecht bij "NEF 36" in de herfst van dat jaar. Ze was gepland om terug te keren naar actie op "NEF 43" in 2020 totdat de COVID-19-pandemie het evenement uitstelde. Garceau vertegenwoordigt Young's MMA van Bangor, Maine.

“Ik kan niet geloven dat ik in november weer in de kooi stap,riep Garceau uit. “Toen we vorig jaar moesten stoppen met trainen, Ik voelde me alsof ik mijn familie verloor, mijn gezondheid, en dat heeft me mentaal en fysiek hard geraakt. ik was een puinhoop. Dus een keer (Young's MMA-hoofdcoach) Chris Young en zoveel andere geweldige coaches van andere sportscholen zeiden 'kom naar huis' a/k/a 'ga terug naar de sportschool',’ Ik voelde me eindelijk weer heel toen we op de matten stonden. Ik had niet gedacht dat het nog een keer zou gebeuren, maar eerlijk gezegd na alles wat er de afgelopen 18 maanden in de wereld en persoonlijk is gebeurd, Ik heb nog nooit zo graag willen vechten. Ik ben dankbaar voor de kans en eerlijk gezegd had het op dit moment iemand kunnen zijn die tegenover me stond. Ik ben blij om met Hayley naar beneden te gooien, en beloof dat ik niemand in die kooi zal teleurstellen!  Ik zou meer zeggen, maar ik moet gaan trainen. Laten we dit doen!"

Hayley Martin maakt haar debuut in de kooi in het gevecht met Garceau op "NEF 45" – slechts een paar weken nadat we haar hebben gevierd 50th verjaardag. Martin is een onafhankelijke vechter wiens droom het was om actief deel te nemen aan MMA.

“Ik ben meer dan opgewonden om in de kooi te stappen, test mijn vaardigheden en laat zien hoe hard werken en toewijding eruit zien," zei Martin.  "Ik ben op deze reis omdat ik nog nooit iets heb gevoeld waardoor ik me levendiger voel, sterk en zelfverzekerd. En wanneer dat moment gebeurt op 5 november, Ik zal het allemaal in de kooi laten en keihard vechten voor elke vrouw die dacht dat dromen niet kunnen uitkomen."

Voor onmiddellijke publicatie: Orono, Maine (Maart 12, 2020) - New England Fights (NEF) zal haar volgende mixed-martial-arts presenteren (MMA) evenement in het Collins Centrum voor de Kunsten aan de Universiteit van het vlaggenschip van Orono campus van Maine. BJ Garceau will enter the NEF cage for the third and final time on April 18. Garceau, who was diagnosed with Type-1 juvenile diabetes in 1993, made headlines with her amateur debut and became an inspiration to many. She defeated Sarah Ziehm (1-2) via split decision at “NEF 32” in February 2018. Garceau returned to the cage later that year, losing to Chelsea Tucker (3-3) in the third round of an “NEF 36” contest. Garceau is a product of Young’s MMA based in Bangor, Maine

“I’m so excited to be back in the cage in my hometown, for what will be my final fight this April,” said Garceau.  “I want to be able to leave my old stomping grounds with my hand held high at the end and walk away with a win for my fans, vrienden, gezin, coaches, team and myself. I’ll give it everything I’ve got one last time and this will be a fight you don’t want to miss. With that being said, I am beyond grateful for my opponent taking on the fight and every opportunity Young’s MMA, NEF and everyone in the mixed martial arts community has given me over the years. Fatima Kline will make the trek from her home in Hyde Park, New York for the fight. At just 19-years-old, Kline already holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. She made her amateur MMA debut last fall with a unanimous decision win on a card in White Plains, New York. Kline represents Black Hole Jiu-Jitsu based in Wappingers Falls, New York.

“I would like to thank NEF for giving me the opportunity to showcase all of my hard work,” said Kline when reached for comment. “Being that this is my debut fight for the organization, I promise to be at the top of my game come fight night. Dankjewel, BJ, for accepting this matchup, and I look forward to seeing you in the cage. The one message I would have for the crowd is: be prepared to be entertained.”

NEF RETURNS TO LEWISTON ON SUPER BOWL WEEKEND WITH AN MMA SUPER CARD

Lewiston, Maine (Januari 19, 2018) – The night before the National Football League (NFL) delivers its 2017-2018 season finale, New England Fights (NEF) will return to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston for the first time in eight months as the fight promotion presents “NEF 32: Super Zaterdag.” And while New England football fans will have to wait until this Sunday’s AFC championship game to find out whether their beloved Patriots will play in the Super Bowl, area mixed-martial-arts fans learned today which of their favorites will compete at “NEF 32” as promotion executives released the full fight card for the February 3rd evenement.

 

 

In het main event van de avond, Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (14-11) neemt Taylor Trahan (7-8) at a catchweight of 150-pounds. One of the biggest MMA stars ever to come out of Maine, Boyington will make his return to the NEF cage after a two-year absence that saw him compete on the global stage in places like Russia and New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden. Trahan makes his third trip to Maine to compete. He is coming off a win over Connor Barry (3-2) laatste val.

Also in professional welterweight action will be Mike “De Snor” Hansen (5-8) en Jesse “De Viking” Erickson (9-7) in a fight billed as “The Berserker vs. The Viking.” Hansen and Erickson have developed a rivalry as coaches of local gyms Berserkers MMA and Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ), respectievelijk.

 

 

Speaking of which, Nate Boucher (2-1), a product of CMBJJ, en Ryan Burgess (2-2) of Berserkers MMA will headline the amateur portion of the fight card. The flyweights, former teammates on the Mountain Valley High School wrestling squad, have engaged in a recent war of words heading into the bout. The winner will be in line for a shot at the amateur flyweight title later this spring.

 

 

2017 NEF “Rookie van het Jaar” Jayda “Lil Killah” Bailey (1-0) returns to the cage on February 3rd to meet Florida’s Amanda Gallo (0-1). Bailey made history in November at “NEF 31” by becoming the youngest competitor ever to compete, (and win), in de NEF kooi. She turned 18, the legal age for competing in MMA in Maine, just a week prior to the event.
