WINTER PARK, FLA (September 18, 2015) – The main event of Premier Boxing Champions – The Next Round rauThaws TV delivered a crowd-pleasing unanimous decision win (96 – 92, 97 – 91, 96 – 92) by Jamal James (18-0, 9 KOs) as he outmatched Juan Carlos Abreu (18-2-1, 17 KOs) to stay undefeated. James went down in the fourth round, but battled back to take over the bout, knocking Abreu down in the sixth round and never looking back.
The co-main event showcased an action-packed brawl as Erickson Lubin (12-0, 9 KOs) stopped Orlando Lora (31-6-2, 19 KOs) at one minute fifty-eight seconds into the sixth round. Lubin knocked Lora into the ropes in the second round for what was ruled a knockdown.
The televised opener saw Wilky Campfort (21-1, 12 KOs) stop Ronaldo Montes (16-3, 14 KOs) with only one second remaining in the second round. Campfort was knocked down in the opening round, but fought back to knock down Montes three times in the second round. Montescorner intervened to stop the fight as the second round came to a close.
Here is what the televised fighters had to say about their performances:
JAMAL JAMES
I adapted my style and started boxing more as the fight went on. Eventually I was able to time it right for when he came at me so I could strike first.
He caught me with a right in the fourth that dropped me, but I didn’t feel too buzzed.
Hopefully a win like this pushes me even further. I wanted to show my skills, but he was a formidable fighter. This was a great step-up fight for me to show people I’m not just a paper fighter.
I’m looking for more opportunities with PBC. This was an honor to get to fight in the main event on Bounce TV.
I’ll fight whoever my manager Al Haymon wants me to fight next. I can’t wait to get back in the gym and continue refining my skills.
JUAN CARLOS ABREU
I’m very disappointed in my performance. He’s a good fighter. I knew that, but I was surprised he was able to hurt me with his punches.
I didn’t fight the way I wanted to. In the first round, I got head-butted and I never really recovered. I was buzzed the whole fight after that and when he hit me, it hurt me more than it normally would.
ERICKSON LUBIN
My corner helped me all fight. Every time I went to my corner they were helping me make the right adjustments.
I kept telling myself that if (Lora) throws two punches then I’m going to throw four. If he threw four, I’d throw eight. I wanted to double his effort and show that I have more will than him. I didn’t want this fight to go this distance.
Fighting on PBC on Bounce TV is going to help my career take off. I wanted to make a statement on TV so I could start stepping up my competition. I’m working towards a title shot.
ORLANDO LORA
I was not surprised at his power. I took his punches to my head very well, but my legs were shot. So I couldn’t move and had to stay in the pocket with him.
He caught me in the beginning of the fight in the solar plexus and that took my legs away from me for the rest of the fight. He hit me so hard to the body I couldn’t breathe and my legs went numb.
The stoppage was right. I would have loved to finish the ten rounds, but my corner knew I wasn’t going to go much longer.
WILKY CAMPFORT
I’ve always been a slow starter. At the start of the first round I wasn’t listening to my corner and (Montes) caught me off guard. But I got up and showed people what I came here to do.
“(Montes) is a knockout artist in his own right, but I’m a throwback fighter. I’ll fight anyone they put in front of me no matter how tough the other guy is.
Fighting on this PBC card on Bounce TV is huge. These are the fights I need to be in, fighting a tough opponent and on TV. I showed the fans my heart and that I can punch.
I want whoever they tell me to fight next. This is a business and I’m in it to win.
RONALDO MONTES
When I hurt him with that jab I thought I had him, but Campfort is a very strong guy.
I got overconfident. My plan was to box him but when I dropped him, I went in for the kill and got caught up in a brawl. That was not my plan. I was going to outbox him. It’s my fault.

FORMER WORLD CHAMPION AUSTIN TROUT SCORES SIXTH ROUND KNOCKOUT OF JOEY HERNANDEZ IN THE MAIN EVENT OF THE INAUGURAL PREMIER BOXING CHAMPIONS ON FS1 AND FOX DEPORTES EVENT

Lara vs. Rojas Ends in Technical Draw
Photos By Suzanne Teresa/Premier Boxing Champions
Hollywood, CA (September 8, 2015) — Former world champion Austin “Tsis doubt tsis ntseeg” zaub ntug hauv paus,(30-2, 17 KOs) scored a sensational sixth round knockout over contender JoeyTwinkle FingersHernandez, (24-4-1,14 KOs) on Tuesday night in the main event debut ofPremier Boxing Champions rau FS1 thiab FOX DeportesTOE-TO-TOE TUESDAYSfrom a packed house at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California.
Working behind a piston-like jab from the opening bell, Trout of Las Cruces, NM scored at will and frustrated Hernandez of Miami, FL throughout the fight.
In the fourth stanza Hernandez was deducted a point by referee Jack Reiss for body slamming Trout to the canvas.
Trout ended the fight in style as a barrage of punches sent Hernandez stumbling to the canvas where he was counted out at the 3:00 mark of the sixth round. Scores at the time of the stoppage were 50-44 on all three scorecards.
Said Trout after the victory:
We got a good win with a knockout. I’m happy to be here. I want to thank the fans for showing up. If you didn’t come for me this time, you will next time.
I’m trying to be the best in my class. I think it’s me and if people don’t believe it, they will.
I thought I was breaking him down. I was watching his body language and there was
Tsis doubt tsis ntseeg I was wearing him down.
(On the body slam) “He wasn’t winning. So it wasn’t like there was a need for the flash. He was getting desperate. Maybe he was hoping I got hurt with the body slam but that wasn’t the case.
Truly my best is yet to come. At the age of 29, I am a better fighter than I’ve been and I will continue to be a better fighter than I was tonight.
It’s an honor to fight in the Tuesday night PBC on FS1 debut. I can’t wait to get back in the ring. I would like it to be before the end of the year against a world champion or top name in the division.
Stated Hernandez in defeat:
From the first round, I had no legs. I was conditioned, but the day of the weigh-in I had to lose nine pounds. It is hard to come back from that.
I’m going back to the drawing board after this rough loss. My mind wanted to do it, but my body couldn’t get it done.
I was trying to catch him because he wasn’t really hurting me until the body shots that ended it.
I’m too good a fighter to become a full blown opponent.
In the co-featured, scheduled eight rounder, undefeated light heavyweight Ahmed Elbiali,12-0 (11 KOs) continued to shine, drilling Brazilian Fabiano Pena, 11-3-1 (8 KOs) to the canvas with a massive right halt, which ended the bout. Time of the stoppage was 1:15 of the opening stanza.
Said Elbiali after his first round KO:
I didn’t have enough time to really show what I can do.
I want to show people I can box. I do have great defense. I have great footwork.
I’m sure one day I will go toe-to-toe with a great fighter, but until that day comes, I am going to keep knocking people out.
Opening the telecast featherweightswaged war as Jorge Lara, 27-0-2 (19KOs) ntawm Guadalajara, Mexico and Jesus Rojas, 22-1-2 (15KOs) of Caguas, Puerto Rico battled in a scheduled ten round tilt.
Lara was badly cut twice during the bout from a clash off heads. Following the sixth round the bout was stopped as Lara stated to the referee he was unable to see.
Scorecard tallies were 57-57 from all three judges resulting in a very disappointing technical draw.
Stated Rojas after the draw:
I came here to fight like a man and I’m very disappointed. I wish it didn’t end that way, with an accidental head butt.
I am definitely looking for a rematch, but I want it to be in Puerto Rico. I came to his house with his crowd and now I want to box and bang on the island.
Said Lara:
I’m very upset with the way this went. Rojas is a dirty fighter. I came to fight and show people what this sport is all about.
My eye just kept getting worse and worse as the fight went on. There was no way I could continue.
