CARSON, Calif. (April 18, 2015) – Confident and determined, Andrzej “The PolishFürst” Fonfara (27-3, 16 KOs) spoiled the ring return of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32 KOs) in resounding fashion Samstag Nacht, flooring the former middleweight champion one time en route to a one-sided ninth-round TKO in the main event ofShowtime Championship Boxing weiterleben SHOW TIME.

 

Fonfara, of Chicago by way of Radon, Polen, dropped Chavez, of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexiko, with a wide left hook 50 seconds into the ninth round before a boisterous crowd of 8,636 predominately-Chavez fans at StubHub Center. It was the first time in 52 professional fights that Chavez had hit the canvas from a punch.

 

Upon returning to the corner, Chavez could be heard on the telecast telling trainer Joe Goossen that he had hurt his right leg and could no longer continue. Augenblicke später, the fight was halted. I’m OK, but I definitely would love a rematch.”

 

In the SHOWTIME EXTREME co-feature, Superweltergewicht Omar “El Businessman”Chavez (33-3-1, 22 KOs), of Culiacan, the younger brother of Chavez, Jr. and son of legendary Julio Cesar Sr., won an exciting, hart erkämpften, give-and-take eight-round unanimous decision over Richard Gutierrez (28-16-1, 17 KOs), of Arjona, Kolumbien.

Chavez won by the scores of 78-75 zweimal und 77-74. There were no knockdowns.

“Castillo has a great jab and good combinations. A guy like that throws a lot of punches, but there is a technique to breaking down a fighter like that.

“When I was training with Freddie Roach, it was very different. I think Freddie is a great trainer, but Joe also has a lot of experience and we have made a connection together.

 

“I really liked training in Lake Tahoe. The altitude, der Ring, everything I needed was there. I felt very comfortable up there and I would like to come back there to train for a fight again.

“I think there has been a 180 degree turn in his career. I see this as a positive because he can really develop his ability and looks very well prepared.

 

“I would’ve liked to have seen him take a tune up fight instead because of his long layoff; I particularly didn’t want this fight.

 

“Juli [Chavez Jr.] wants credibility in this sport and that’s why he made the decision to take this fight, even though it’s a dangerous decision. He must be very prepared for this fight.”

“I’ve been asked over the years who the one fighter was that I would like to work and my answer was always Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

 

“I’ve always really admired his style. I had known him as a kid, his father is a legend. It had always seemed like a dream job for me, and out of nowhere I got it.

 

“Lake Tahoe was tremendous for training camp. You are isolated and it’s not an easy thing. When you aren’t training you are sitting in a hotel room. You are deprived the comforts of home, but it really gives you that concentration and dedication factor and I think that will interpret into some positive results.

 

“I matured over my years, once I had a kid and a family and I think the same has happened with Julio. Life becomes clearer when you put away the immaturity. You realize that you have a future and if you really want to access what’s available to you, then you are going to have to work hard and dedicate yourself to it.

 

“Going to Lake Tahoe and really working hard is a sign of maturity and I think that’s what Julio is going through right now. He really showed it by leaving his home and spending an extended period of time up there. To me that is a great indicator that he is mature, dedicated and taking this fight very seriously.

 

“Of course I believe Julio is ready to fight Fonfara. The fight was made before I even came on board, but that’s the challenge that I am presented with. You must figure out a good game plan and figure out what you’re up against.

 

“Just because Julio has been out a year doesn’t mean that it’s going to be a cake walk for Fonfara. We went up to Lake Tahoe with one thing in mind, and that’s winning this fight and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”

Die aggressive gesinnten, 30-jahre alt Escandon captured the crown in his last start via a 12-round split decision over Canadian southpaw Tyson Cave last Dezember. 11. Escandon was making his United States debut and triumphed in a tight fight by the scores of 117-111, 115-113 und 113-115.

 

Escandon was a top amateur -he represented Colombia in the 2004 Olympische Spiele- before turning professional in June 2006. Twenty of his initial 21 fights took place in his native Colombia while he’s also fought in Argentina and Panama. The 36-year-old Gutierrez is hoping to bounce back after suffering consecutive defeats. Fighting out of Miami by way of Colombia, Gutierrez has been battle-tested over the years having faced the likes ofJoshua Clottey, Vanes Martirosyan und Luis Carlos Abregu.

 

Maidana, 22, is nine years younger than Marcos. A pro since June 21, 2014, he has won his last four fights by knockout, all within two rounds.

 

An exciting, come-forward crowd-pleaser (like his big brother), Maidana will be making his third start at StubHub. He won a decision his first time out and by a first-round knockout over Phillip Sorianothe second time around.

 

A terrific amateur, Maidana was the Pan American Youth Championships Bronze Medalist and World Youth Championships Silver Medalist in 2010.

 

A former world title contender, Krieger is looking to bounce back from losing to David Lemieux in 2014. With victories over Ishe Smith, Gabriel Rosado and Derrick Findley, the 28-year-old from the Dominican Republic but fighting out of Salisbury, Md. is eager to redeem himself and get back into the hunt for another world title opportunity.

 

A 30-year-old former kickboxing champion, Han, of El Paso, Texas, Profi wurde in 2007 and quickly adapted his skills to the boxing ring. Er gewann sein erstes 19 pro fights before losing a hard-fought bout with Glen Tapia in 2013. He rebounded to win four straight bouts before suffering a split-decision defeat to Sergio Mora his last time out.

 

An undefeated heavyweight prospect fighting out of Miami by way of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Nofiremakes his debut in California when he looks for win number 17. The 28-year-old will battle the 34-year-old Godfrey out of East Saint Louis, Schlecht.

 

A former amateur standout who became the first heavyweight to win four Michigan Golden Gloves titles, Shimmell will attempt to remain undefeated and entertain the crowd with his seventh straight knockout against Reyes, 37, von Phoenix, Ariz. Zuletzt, the 26-year-old stopped Phil Williams in the fifth round in Dec. 2014.

 

A young prospect fighting out of Santa Ana, Calif., Römer will look to bounce back from losses in two of his last three fights after starting his career with 16 Siegen. The 23-year-old will be fighting at StubHub for the first time.

LAS VEGAS (Jan. 19, 2015) - Zwei Übernachtungen nach der nach seiner Niederlage gegen ungeschlagenen Herausforderer Krankenhaus Deontay Wilder auf SHOW TIME® aus dem MGM Grand Garden Arena, ehemaliger WBC-Schwergewichts-Champion Gold Cup, seine Hall of Fame Promoter, Don King, und sein Trainer, Don Haus, Gastgeber einer Pressekonferenz am heutigen Tag im MGM Grand.

 

Hier ist, was sie zu sagen hatten:

"Wir nannten diese Pressekonferenz, weil die Bermane wir sahen, am Samstag Nacht war nicht die Bermane wir alle wissen,. Deontay Wilder hat eine sehr gute Arbeit; dies ist nicht eine Pressekonferenz für Ausreden, ist es für die Tatsache,. Die Ärzte im Krankenhaus des UMC sagte, dass er einen schweren Fall von Dehydration hatte. Seine Muskeln waren nicht funktioniert und sie dachten, er hatte Blut im Urin, so nahmen sie einige Tests und hielt ihn in der Klinik bis heute morgen.

"Wir wollen Deontay Wilder für seine Arbeit applaudieren, aber der Mann vor ihm war behindert und unfähig, seine Arbeit zu tun, aber das nicht nehmen sollte nichts von seinem Sieg. Deontay durchgeführt und hat einen tollen Job. Es ist bedauerlich,, aber Bermane müssen es an einem anderen Tag zu tun. Die Kenntnis der Meister haben wir in Deontay hat so eloquent erklärt, dass er niemandem nehmen, Ich bin sicher, ohne Zweideutigkeit er einen Rückkampf mit der realen Bermane als der Mann, der im Ring behindert wurde gewähren würde, nicht wegnehmen den Sieg er hatte und wie er glänzte.

"Wir loben Deontay und hoffe, er kann Meister lange genug, um, wo wir einen Rückkampf des zu haben 'Return to Glory".

"Genau wie unsere großen Militär, wenn sie zu Boden geworfen zu werden, sie wieder wieder aufstehen. Auch mit seinem schweren Dehydrierung Bermane noch stand für 12 Runde.

"Wir wollen Richard Sturm danke, Präsident des MGM Grand Entertainment und Stephen Espinoza mit Showtime Boxing für immer in diesem Programm zusammen zu spielen eine wichtige Rolle. Wir begrüßen sowohl unsere Mitarbeiter und die MGM Personal dafür eine lobenswerte Arbeit für die dies möglich gemacht. Der Geist für 'Return to Glory' war hoch. Wir hatten eine tolle Karte mit Amir Imam im Kampf des Abends, immer zu Boden geworfen und immer wieder nach oben. Alle Kämpfe waren außergewöhnlich. Es war eine gute Nacht des Boxens für die Fans und das ist, was wir wirklich zu.

"Don Haus so eloquent erklärt die Gesundheit der Bermane ist so wichtig, so als ich erfuhr, im Krankenhaus war er, Ich ging in den Tag dort zu bleiben mit ihm, weil in der Regel schicken wir Ihm nur ins Krankenhaus, um sich untersuchen lassen, aber sie beschlossen, ihn zu halten,. Wenn sie beschlossen, ihn zu halten, Ich musste dort bekommen und sehen, meine Kämpfer. Das Personal war großartig und sehr freundlich zu mir und sehr definitiv über das, was falsch sein könnte und die Untersuchung aller Aspekte. Sie sagten, er ist gesund und sollte ausziehen einen Monat oder so, um etwas Ruhe zu bekommen und dann an die Arbeit, um für seine Rückkehr in die Herrlichkeit vorzubereiten und Rückeroberung der Schwergewichts-Krone, die derzeit von einem großen Champion namens Deontay Wilder gehalten wird. "

"Ich will für nicht machen die Post-Kampf Pressekonferenz entschuldigen. Leider war ich nicht in der Lage, in den Kampf führen, wie ich wollte, um schwere Dehydratation und Muskelschäden durch. Ich wusste nicht, es war so ernst, bis sie sagten mir,. Ich konnte von ihm gestorben. Ich freue mich, nur mich selbst zu sein, geh und rede wieder. Gott sei Dank dafür, das ist wirklich das, was mir wichtig ist gerade jetzt gesund sein.

Es ist nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis ich wieder auf den Beinen und wieder gehen. Wenn es um meine Gesundheit geht, Ich habe aus dem Krankenhaus entlassen worden. Sie ließ mich nicht verlassen, bis ich ausreichend mit Feuchtigkeit versorgt. Ich bin dankbar,. Wir danken Ihnen, mein Promoter und Trainer, alle, die mich aufgenommen hat.

"Für meine Fans, Ich entschuldige mich für nicht in der Lage, wie Bermane Regel nicht durchführen. Ich weiß, dass Leute, die mich wirklich,, weiß, wie ich zu kämpfen. Mein letzter Kampf mit Chris Arreola, Ich habe Ihnen eine gute Show. Es ist schade, dass ich nicht tun, was ich mit meinem Kampf mit Deontay Wilder wollte. Ich möchte ihm gratulieren, er kämpfte einen guten Kampf. Hoffentlich irgendwo in der Zukunft werden wir uns wiedersehen.

"Danke Jungs für Coming Out. Das Wichtigste ist, dass Bermane ist OK. Das ist meine größte Sorge. Ich bemerkte irgendwo im Kampf, wahrscheinlich um das dritte oder vierte Runde, etwas nicht stimmte. Auch wenn er mir sagte, war er OK, wir alle wissen, Bermane. Ich habe nichts dagegen verlorenen Kampf, aber ich wusste, dass etwas nicht stimmte, so war ich sehr besorgt,. Rund um den neunten oder zehnten Runde dachte ich, um den Kampf zu stoppen, weil Sie nicht haben, um weiter, aber er weiter kämpfen wollte.

"Du hast nicht gesehen Bermane, Sie vielleicht gesehen 10-15 Prozent Bermane. Ich glaube wirklich, und wirklich das Gefühl, dies sollte ein anständiger Kampf um Bermane haben, würde aber vier Runden oder weniger dauern, weil seine Kraft und Geschwindigkeit. Wir ihn nie unterschätzt. Wir trainierten, als ob er kämpfte King Kong. Ich trainiere jeden Kämpfer wie die, unterschätzen niemanden. Aber SamstagNacht, wir hatten 15 Prozent Bermane.

"Wir werden zurückblicken, sehen, was wir falsch gemacht haben, wie wir die Dinge besser machen können, was wir getan haben sollte.
