BOSTON (November 1, 2021) – Vertex Promotions has announced it will present “Fall Brawl,” headlined by undefeated super lightweight prospect Adrian “Tonka” Sosa (12-0, 9 Kos), NgoMgqibelo ebusuku, November 20th at Moseley’s On The Charles in Dedham, Massachusetts.

“We’re excited to be promoting our fourth show we’ve promoted since our inaugural event this past September 25th,” Vertex promoter Dave Clark said. “We’ve found a home at Moseley’s On the Charles, which provides intimate setting just outside of Boston. Our goal remains to provide local boxers with opportunities to stay active and fight in front of their family and friends. We get better at promoting with each show.”

Sosa will fight Alfonso Olvera (12-6-3, 4 Kos), fighting out of Tucson (THE) by way of Mexico, in the 8-round main event. Sosa, who hadn’t fought in 28 izinyanga, returned to the ring with a fury, albeit showing signs of rust. His hand were quick, as usual, and he was well poised as on the lat Vertex show, September 25th at the same venue. His veteran Mexican opponent, Danny “Venado” Flores (15-25-1, 8 Kos), continually but unsuccessfully tried to lure Sosa into traps. Sosa was the hunter, stalking a game Flores, who often stayed in the corners or on the ropes baiting Sosa to mix it up. Sosa “pitched a shutout,” winning eight rounds on all three judges’ scorecards.

In fight yakhe yokugcina (Isikhombisa. 28, 2019), Olvera upset previously undefeated Amon Torres by way of an 8-round unanimous decision. Olvera also gained invaluable experience going the distance with current unified World super lightweight champion Josh Taylor and former IBF Super Lightweight World titlist Ivan Baranchyk.

Esimweni co-iyavela, undefeated welterweight prospect James “The Slim Reaper” Perella (8-0, 5 Kos), fighting out of Mansfield, Massachusetts, faces veteran Jacksonville (FL) fighter Andre Byrd (8-11-2, 1 KO) in the Perella’s first scheduled 8-rounder event. Perella is a 4-time USA New England Championships and 4-time New England Golden Gloves Champion. The popular fighter returns in the 6-round co-featured event.

Undefeated ABF American West and NBA Continental champion, 23-year-old Albany (NY) lightweight RayJay “The Destroyer” Bermudez (14-0, 11 Kos), returns to his second home at Moseley’s On The Charles again to fight Columbian lightweight Rudolfo “El Tsunam” Puentes (20=8-2, 16 Kos).

Promising super welterweight prospect Francis “Frank The Tank” Hogan (8-0, 8 Kos) will put his perfect pro record on the line in a 6-round bout against an opponent to bet determined. Hogan, of Weymouth, MA, is the reigning New Hampshire super welterweight champion, as well as a 2019 New England Golden Gloves gold medalist.

In a pair of 6-round bouts, New Bedford (MA) middleweight Drew “Tomahawk” Dwelly (3-0-2, 3 Kos) meets Las Vegas’ Zachary Scott Juusda (1-1, 1 KO), while Springfield (MA) super lightweight super lightweight Eric “Gladiator” Goff (4-0, 3 Kos) is back against Carlos Galindo (0-9).

Unbeaten Providence middleweight Anthony Concepcion (8-0-1, 6 Kos), a member of World middleweight champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade, will be in action against TBA in a 6-rounder.

Malden (MA) super featherweight Alex Rivera (1-0, 1 KO) faces Francisco Muro (3-8) in a 4-round iziqubu. Also scheduled to fight on the undercard, each in 4-round matches versus TBAs, is Dorchester (MA) featherweight Troy Anderson, Jr. (1-0, 1 KO), a 2016 Rocky Marciano Tournament iqhawe, vs. Auston Reed Ward (0-9); Galway, Ireland cruiserweight Tommy “The Kid” O’Toole (1-0, 1 KO), a 2019 Irish Elite Championship gold medalist; Boston welterweight James Murrin (1-0), and Kansas City (KS) super lightweight Marcus Davidson (1-0, 1 KO).

Cards are subject to change.

RAGING BABE RETURNS TO CASINO DEL SOL WITH GUERRA DE GALLOS: JENSEN RAMIREZ VS. TOMAS VALDEZ

Alfonso Olvera Returns, Chris Gonzalez faces Judas Estrada

Tucson, Arizona – October 16, 2018 – On the heels of her sold out July 17th event at the award-winning Casino Del Sol Resort & Casino, Michelle Rosado’s Raging Babe returns to the same venue on Saturday, November 17th, when super featherweights Jensen Ramirez of Tucson, and Thomas Valdez of Nogales collide in the main event, outdoors at the AVA Amphitheater. Tucson’s Alfonso Olvera returns ahead of his anticipated rematch of his sensational bout with Wilberth Lopez on July’s card, and Tucson’s Christopher Gonzalez faces NogalesJudas Estrada in a four-round welterweight contest.

Main event fighters Jensen Ramirez (6-2-3, 1KO) and Thomas Valdez (16-4-2, 6KO), have both called Tucson home, but the similarities between the two end there.

Ramirez, 26, is an award-winning tattoo artist when he is not fighting. He defeated Sierra Vista’s Jesus Arevalo at Raging Babe’s July event, after a two-year layoff, earning a 6-round majority decision over the often-avoided Arevalo. If his bout with Arevalo was about redemption, his upcoming bout with Valdez is about showing Tucson, and all of Arizona, that he belongs in the mix with the top super featherweights in the state.

Valdez, 29, last fought December 1, 2017, when he scored a wide unanimous decision in an 8-round bout versus a far more experienced Daniel Valenzuela of Mexico. A hand injury has kept him on the shelf. Coming from a fighting family, Valdez is trained and managed by his uncle, Oscar Valdez, Sr., who also happens to be the father of WBO Featherweight Champion Oscar Valdez, Jr. Thomas Valdez will be fighting in Arizona for the first time since a 2013 six-round decision loss to undefeated prospect Victor Castro, of Phoenix, Arizona.

Both Valdez and Ramirez will walk into the ring on November 17th with something to proveto Tucson boxing fans, and to themselves.

Tucson favorite Alfonso Olvera (10-5-1, 4KO) will make his return on November 17. Olvera has his sights set on an eventual rematch with Wilberth Lopez (23-9,15KO), but cannot afford to stumble along the way. The two thrilled the Guerro De Gallo crowd in the card’s main event in July, ending in a split decision that favored Lopez. The decision pleased some and disappointed others in the sold out crowd, and since the bout, both camps and fans who were in attendance that night have called for a rematch. Yena, Olvera has no intentions of looking past his November 17th opponent.

The Gonzalez-Estrada contest features two local prospects who had the fans on their feet during their separate July bouts at Guerra De Gallos. Road (1-1, 1 KO) lost that night to Jose Barrera, of Phoenix, but the split decision had the crowd in an uproar. Gonzalez also was in a tight one that night, earning a majority decision over Sergio Lopez.

When fighters fightwhen local fighters fight, and aren’t afraid to step into the ring with a friend, former sparring partner or a tough guy, you’re going to get great fights,” said Raging Babe President and Promoter Michelle Rosado. “That’s what I’m about and that’s what my events are about. Boxing is at its best when the fights are 50-50 ukulwa, and when fans get their money’s worth, and they definitely did that on July card. This event is no different. Hats off to these guys for all being willing to step up and fight in their hometowns. Tucson, if you’re thirsty for good, live boxing, get ready for a tall drink of water on November 17th.

Heavyweight Edgar Medina makes his professional debut, Manny Guajardo, Nick Rhoads, and Mike Martinez return, and Arturo Resendiz makes his US debut.

Tickets for Guerra De Gallos start at $25, and go on sale Thursday, October 18 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets may be purchased at the Casino Del Sol gift shop, online at www.casinodelsol.com, noma ngokushayela ucingo 520-333-5150.

Alfonso Olvera vs. Wilberth Lopez HeadlineGuerra De Gallos

Road Warriors Battle for Hometown Supremacy

Tucson, Ariz. (June 12, 2018) – Michelle Rosado’s Raging Babe has built a reputation for quality, sold out events across the country, and she returns to Tucson’s Casino Del Sol on Saturday evening, July 21, with Guerra De Gallos, a fight card that is quickly living up to its name.

The scheduled eight-round main event features a hometown battle between two fighters who have earned their stripes fighting tough competition on the road. After competing in other fightersbackyards and dealing with their opponentshome crowds and officials, welterweights junior Alfonso Olvera (10-4-1, 4 Kos) futhi Wilberth Lopez (21-9, 15 Kos) will have a chance to showcase their incredible tenacity and talent in front of their own families, friends and Tucson fans.

Olvera, who has had trouble finding opponents, has faced top competition since turning pro. In his second fight, he went the distance with Ivan Baranchyk, currently unbeaten at 19-0. Olvera’s trail of upsets includes a 2005 unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Ryan “Cowboy” Karl and another over Chicago’s Genaro Mendez.

Lopez, who knocked out Phoenix’s Keenan Carbajal in his professional debut in 2013, has gone on to fight stiff competition across the country. He was the first to take World Super Bantamweight Champion Isaac Dogboe the distance when they met in 2014. Three years later, Lopez upset Jose Roman (24-2-1, 16 Kos), via unanimous decision in Roman’s backyard. Lopez’s southpaw style and reach kept Roman at bay and earned him the win.

This is a fight between two highly skilled, local fighters who have never had the benefit of hand-picked opponents and hometown decisions,” said Rosado. “This fight will be one of the best Arizona has seen in years. I’m excited to give Tucson fans what could be Fight of the Year, and to bring back the pride that comes with competing to be the best in the state.

The card is stacked with Tucson talent. Junior lightweight Jensen Ramirez (5-2-3, 1 KO) makes returns against Jesus Arevalo (2-3), and Tucson junior welterweight Christopher Gonzalez (2-0) will make his return to the Old Pueblo after securing his second win in Phoenix earlier this year. Mike Martinez, Emmanuel Guajardo, Nicholas Rhoads, Judas Estrada futhi Breenan Macias round out the eight-bout card.

Casino Del Sol has hosted boxing events since 2003, and has become a premier destination for boxing in Southern Arizona. Fernando Vargas, Mia St. John and Yori Boy Campas are just a few boxing legends to have graced the casino’s ring. “We are excited to bring boxing back to Tucson once again,” said Kimberly Van Amburg, CEO of Casino Del Sol. “Our goal is always to provide the best entertainment in Southern Arizona, and Guerra De Gallos will definitely deliver.

Here’s what the fighters said about their fights Friday, training camp, their respective opponents and more:

ANDREW TABITI

“It’s great that four undefeated cruiserweights are fighting each other. I want us to get the ball back into U.S. territory, since it is a historically European-dominated division. I definitely think the emergence of young cruiserweights like myself is changing that.

“I don’t compare myself to other cruiserweights in the division, I know I’m the best. I’m always looking to win impressively, and I look to put on a great performance for the fansFriday ebusuku.

“Everything has been perfect. Camp Training sekuqhubeke enkulu. I started camp in February so I feel strong and comfortable. What’s interesting is that I’m not nervous at all despite this being my first headlining debut. I see it as any other fight where I know what I am coming in to do. I think that lets me know that I am maturing as a fighter and feel a lot more confident in my skills and abilities.

“I’ve been waiting for the right date and this is it. I believe my career moving is great, what I dreamed of. Now it’s time to take the next step.

“Personally I’ve never seen Tapia fight, but I’ve watched videos. He is unbeaten, a solid opponent. Styles make fights and this is a good one for me. I’m looking forward to continuing to step up and give everybody a good performance and get close to a title fight.

“I can’t wait. I’m going in confident. The key is to get the victory, it’s the main thing. Winning is everything.

“I feel blessed to be training out of Floyd’s gym and be able to fight under Mayweather Promotions. He’s someone I look up to so being where I am is a dream coming to reality. I love training at Mayweather Boxing Club. It keeps me focused and hungry.

UKEITH Tapia

“Fighting Tabiti is a great, real challenge. I like the way he fights. Ngiyamhlonipha, but I’m going to be bad weather for him. I’m going to take control right away; it will be a Tapia fight, not a Tabiti fight. That’s a fact.

“Tabiti is a talented boxer. His style is a Mayweather style. I love Floyd Mayweather as a fan, but Tabiti’s not Floyd Mayweather. Me? I azolwa, hands up, moving forward as I go. I want to run over you.

“I’m definitely going to change the perception about me in this fight and the division because I’m a machine. I’m really confident and can’t wait to fight.

"Kwami, this is the right time. I am here and definitely ready to fight. I feel I’m the best in my weight class except no one has seen me yet. Tabiti may have the fame, but I’m not just going to talk the talk, I’m going to walk the walk.

“I think this is a big step up for me when I beat him. Once the bell rings, that’s when we know what is going to really happen.

“I’m going to become the cruiserweight champion, defend it a couple of times and then move up. I already feel like a champion both mentally and spiritually.

All of my fights are equally important. I’m really satisfied with the way my career is going. If it wasn’t for boxing I wouldn’t be here right now. God and boxing saved me. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be alive.

MICHAEL HUNTER

“This is a step up as far as competition compared to the past, with him being an undefeated cruiserweight. He’s a good, long-ranging southpaw. We are actually around the same age; we were in the amateurs at the same time, but never fought each other.Friday, I aim to win impressively. I don’t want to say I’m going for the knockout, if it happens it happens, but hopefully we can get it.

“Although I’ve fought on TV quite a few times before, this is going to be a good show with Mayweather Promotions. I’m thankful to be fighting on the undercard of my good friend Andrew Tabiti. That’s an honor, to be honest. It’s going to be great that my family and friends outside of Las Vegas will be able to tune in to watch me, so that’s a blessing.

“I wouldn’t say I’m satisfied with the way my career is going. I can’t complain because I have no losses, I just wish it would go at a little faster pace. I’m a two-time Olympian and in the amateurs we’re used to fighting 4-5 times out of the week, so adjusting to fighting once every few months or so feels a little stagnant to me. I really try not to think too far into the future, I try to live in the moment, but I hope to get a title shot relatively soon.

“I went into training camp right after my last fight, so it’s been about eight weeks. There’s always ups and downs in training, but as long as you keep a positive spirit, everything will end up going perfectly well. So it’s been going good I can’t complain. I usually train out of the Mayweather Boxing Club, but there’s been some construction going on so we have moved it to Fight Capitol and a few other places.

“I have been changing my training just to better myself, not necessarily for my opponent or for this fight.

“You have to be a little more focused in the Mayweather Gym. There’s a lot of stuff that doesn’t really happen in a normal gym simply because he is Floyd so it will bring it out of you or it won’t. Only the strongest survive.

ISIAH THOMAS

"Friday is a good thing for up-and-coming, American cruiserweights. There are a lot of us in the division looking to make our mark. Not just myself. This is our chance to show that America has good fighters in the cruiserweight division. It’s the perfect showcase.

“I’m very excited about being part of SangoLwesihlanu ikhadi. I am just taking it all in and looking to perform to the top of my ability and showcase my talents.

“Hunter is young and hungry just like me, but I haven’t really seen or watched him. I’ve heard about him and I’m sure he’s going to bring his “A” game.

"Ngiyazi ukuthi yini engingakwenza, there’s no need for a lot of strategizing. I’m not just showing up.

“I feel my career is going good to this point. I keep rising. I’m on television. I like the pace I’m going but there is only way to really go, and that’s to the top. I don’t consider myself the best cruiserweight, just one of the top comers. Ekugcineni, and in due time, noma.

"Friday, I’m just going to do what I do best. Kunjalo, you want to win impressively but the most important thing is to win. I’ve got to get that W.

“I live in Detroit but train in Miami, which is like a second home to me. Training camp has been going for about two months and it has been great. I get great sparring in Miami.”

Ronald Gavril

“I’m looking forward to having this big opportunity. Many people don’t know who I am so fighting on SHOWTIME will start giving me the exposure and recognition I need.

“Training camp has been going great, I feel strong and prepared. I’m happy and have no complaints. I feel blessed to be a part of this great card full of fighters with tremendous talent. It’s exciting to be able to share this with my stablemates here in our town.

“I’m looking forward to what this will bring not only for my future but for all of ours.”

JUAN NOVOA

“Training camp has been going great, I have been training for seven weeks now. I’m currently training in Miami, Fla.

“I have seen videos of his fights and can tell he is a strong fighter who is not afraid to mix it up. Considering that I have more professional fights and over 180 ukulwa amateur, it is tough to say whether Gavril is a step up for me, until I step into the ring lokhu Friday.

“I would be more satisfied with my career if I had already won a world title, but unfortunately the circumstances from my last world championship challenge didn’t turn out in my favor. I know that by winning this fight I would immediately launch myself into world title contention and potentially another world title opportunity. I see myself either challenging for, or defending a world title a year from now.”

SANJARBEK RAKHMANOV

“I’ve watched Olvera enough to feel I know him. He’s a taller, Mexican guy. Ngibheke phambili ekulweni kwakhe.

“I train at Mayweather Boxing Club with Dewey Cooper; he’s been my coach since I turned pro. I had about 150 amateur fights and I got a lot of international experience.

“I consider myself a puncher. Once the bell rings, I azolwa.

“I’m happy with the way things are going. I train hard every day. I’m coming to take all the titles. This is my weight, around 143 amakhilogremu. I don’t plan to go up much or down

“In this fight I want to win and look good and then come right back. I think after about a year I will be ready to take on all the top guys.’’

ALFONSO OLVERA

“Training camp has been great; we’ve been in training for about a month. Road work is good, the sparring is good with different boxers. The weight is not an issue. I train at Scrapyard Boxing Gym in Tucson, Ariz.

“Our opponent is formidable and to be taken serious. We know he is aggressive and expects to win so we have to bring our “A” game to the ring. We also expect to win.

“At this point in my career I am very happy with my progress. This card is definitely for the world to see, and is also a big step forward for us.

“We are welcoming the opportunity and grateful for it. We hope this fight elevates us to more opportunities and gets us closer to someday challenging for a world title.
