BOSTON (Novembre 1, 2021) – Vertex Promotions has announced it will present “Fall Brawl,» titré par l'espoir super léger invaincu Adrian "Tonka" Sosa (12-0, 9 KOs), samedi soir, Novembre 20e chez Moseley's On The Charles à Dedham, Massachusetts.

“We’re excited to be promoting our fourth show we’ve promoted since our inaugural event this past September 25th,” Vertex promoter Dave Clark said. “We’ve found a home at Moseley’s On the Charles, which provides intimate setting just outside of Boston. Our goal remains to provide local boxers with opportunities to stay active and fight in front of their family and friends. We get better at promoting with each show.”

Sosa will fight Alfonso Olvera (12-6-3, 4 KOs), combats de Tucson (LE) by way of Mexico, dans l'événement principal de 8 rondes. Sosa, who hadn’t fought in 28 mois, returned to the ring with a fury, albeit showing signs of rust. Promising super welterweight prospect Francis “Frank The Tank” Hogan (8-0, 8 KOs) will put his perfect pro record on the line in a 6-round bout against an opponent to bet determined. Hogan, of Weymouth, MA, is the reigning New Hampshire super welterweight champion, ainsi qu'un 2019 New England Golden Gloves gold medalist.

Alfonso Olvera Returns, Chris Gonzalez faces Judas Estrada

 

Tucson, Arizona – Octobre 16, 2018 – On the heels of her sold out July 17th event at the award-winning Casino Del Sol Resort & Casino, Michelle Rosado’s Raging Babe returns to the same venue on Saturday, 17 novembre, when super featherweights Jensen Ramirez of Tucson, and Thomas Valdez of Nogales collide in the main event, outdoors at the AVA Amphitheater. Tucson’s Alfonso Olvera returns ahead of his anticipated rematch of his sensational bout with Wilberth Lopez on July’s card, and Tucson’s Christopher Gonzalez faces Nogales’ Judas Estrada in a four-round welterweight contest.

 

 

 

Main event fighters Jensen Ramirez (6-2-3, 1KO) and Thomas Valdez (16-4-2, 6KO), have both called Tucson home, but the similarities between the two end there.

 

 

 

Ramirez, 26, is an award-winning tattoo artist when he is not fighting. He defeated Sierra Vista’s Jesus Arevalo at Raging Babe’s July event, after a two-year layoff, earning a 6-round majority decision over the often-avoided Arevalo. If his bout with Arevalo was about redemption, his upcoming bout with Valdez is about showing Tucson, and all of Arizona, that he belongs in the mix with the top super featherweights in the state.

 

 

 

Valdez, 29, last fought December 1, 2017, when he scored a wide unanimous decision in an 8-round bout versus a far more experienced Daniel Valenzuela of Mexico. A hand injury has kept him on the shelf. Coming from a fighting family, Valdez is trained and managed by his uncle, Oscar Valdez, Sr., who also happens to be the father of WBO Featherweight Champion Oscar Valdez, Jr. Thomas Valdez will be fighting in Arizona for the first time since a 2013 six-round decision loss to undefeated prospect Victor Castro, de Phoenix, Arizona.

 

 

Both Valdez and Ramirez will walk into the ring on November 17th with something to prove – to Tucson boxing fans, and to themselves.

 

 

 

Tucson favorite Alfonso Olvera (10-5-1, 4KO) will make his return on November 17. Olvera has his sights set on an eventual rematch with Wilberth Lopez (23-9,15KO), but cannot afford to stumble along the way. The two thrilled the Guerro De Gallo crowd in the card’s main event in July, ending in a split decision that favored Lopez. The decision pleased some and disappointed others in the sold out crowd, and since the bout, both camps and fans who were in attendance that night have called for a rematch. Pour sa part, Olvera has no intentions of looking past his November 17th opponent.

 

 

The Gonzalez-Estrada contest features two local prospects who had the fans on their feet during their separate July bouts at Guerra De Gallos. Route (1-1, 1 KO) lost that night to Jose Barrera, de Phoenix, but the split decision had the crowd in an uproar. Gonzalez also was in a tight one that night, earning a majority decision over Sergio Lopez.

I usually train out of the Mayweather Boxing Club, but there’s been some construction going on so we have moved it to Fight Capitol and a few other places.

“I have been changing my training just to better myself, not necessarily for my opponent or for this fight.

 

“You have to be a little more focused in the Mayweather Gym. There’s a lot of stuff that doesn’t really happen in a normal gym simply because he is Floyd so it will bring it out of you or it won’t. Only the strongest survive.”

 

Isiah Thomas

 

"Vendredi is a good thing for up-and-coming, American cruiserweights. There are a lot of us in the division looking to make our mark. Not just myself. This is our chance to show that America has good fighters in the cruiserweight division. It’s the perfect showcase.

“Il était un début assez rapide et qui était à ce sujet. Je viens de me frapper et je ne me souviens pas beaucoup après.
“Nous voulions contrôler le combat avec mon jab, mais il a répliqué bien et m'a fait mal. Je n'a jamais récupéré après.
“Je ne pensais jamais à propos de la tenue. Je suis occupé à travailler.
“Je voulais quelque chose entre pop et me suis fait prendre.”
JOSE UZCATEGUI
“Notre plan était d'aller tour par tour, mais parfois des occasions se présentent. Dès que je l'ai vu, je l'ai blessé, je profitai. La vitesse était la clé ce soir.
“Nous ne sous-estimons pas lui du tout, mais une fois que nous avons vu notre avantage après le début je sautai sur lui.
“Je savais qu'il était un grand athlète, et un bon combattant, alors je suis venu ici et fait ce que je devais faire. Je sais ce qu'il est d'avoir un faux pas au cours de ma carrière si, donc je l'espère, il ne se décourage pas par ce. Mais ce soir était à moi.
“Ceci est tout ce que nous avons travaillons depuis trois mois. Je tiens à remercier toute mon équipe parce qu'ils forés constamment en moi que quand (Jackson) jette le jab je devrais prendre immédiatement la main droite sur le dessus. Nous savions que la meilleure partie de son jeu était son jab, mais nous étions concentrés tout le camp d'entraînement à jeter la main droite et ce soir nous étions en mesure de le faire.”

“Je voulais faire pression sur lui un peu plus. Malheureusement, les choses ne tournent pas comme nous avions prévu, car on n'a pas eu la victoire.
“Je me sens bien, mais ce soir (Mendez) étais un peu plus technique que je l'étais.
“Il est un honneur de combattre sur cette carte. Je tiens à remercier Al Haymon. Ce fut énorme opportunité pour moi et ma carrière.”

“Mon plan était d'être agressif, utiliser mon jab et lui briser chaque tour. Voilà ce que je faisais.
“Je suis en mesure d'atterrir le plus grand, coups plus propres tout au long de la lutte.
“Il me tenait beaucoup et en utilisant sa tête. Je tentais de faire ce que je pouvais y faire face, mais ils laissaient le combattre.
“Je veux un combat de championnat du monde à venir. De ce point sur les gens vont se habituer à voir 100% hors de moi.”
