Here are what the press conference participants had to say Hnub peb:

ADRIEN BRONER

I’m very blessed to be here. I’ve been through some things that would say I shouldn’t have been here today, but now I’m one of the biggest names in boxing.

This is a big fight because Adrien Broner is on the card. No disrespect to Shawn and Kenny, but I’m coming to win and I’m going to win.

Even if it’s a hard fight, I’m going to win this fight. They say he’s strong, they say he comes like a bulldozer. Whatever they bring to the table on Rau hli ntuj 20, I’m ready.

I’m going to be the most powerful fighter on June 20th and definitely the prettiest fighter onRau hli ntuj 20. Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.

SHAWN PORTER

I’m the strongest fighter that Adrien Broner will ever get into the ring with.

I know he’s got more fights as a professional than me but that doesn’t mean he’s got more experience than me. We do all our fighting in the gym, prior to the fight.

I’m still the same ‘Showtime’ Shawn Porter, I still have everything that I need to be great and come out victorious. Not being relevant after this fight is not an option.

Our first mindset isn’t going to be to bully him, but to outbox him and use our speed. I’m going to be better than I ever have.

I’ve learned a lot about how to not be held and how to get guys off of you. That’s part of the process and it will be important in this fight.

Everything has been going really smoothly and I’ve been strong this entire camp. It’s been great and it’s what you need going into a fight.

I haven’t looked at this as a catch weight, but as a weight class. My weight class is 144. Anything that he expects to gain from having me come down to 144, he’s not going to get it.

PBC has been a blessing for these fighters and boxing in general. With all the fights on television it’s just an honor to be a part of. There’s no clearer opportunity than now, on network television to show what I got.

MIKE STAFFORD, Broner’s Trainer

These guys know each other from the amateurs. It’s Ohio, so we are familiar with each other. I’m glad that they took the fight, I love Shawn, I love Kenny, but it’s business and we are here to win.

KEN PORTER, Porter’s Father & Trainer

This is the stage we all want to be on, the pinnacle of the sport. We have two elite fighters up here and I expect they will put on a performance that will be memorable throughout the summer and throughout the rest of the year.

LEONARD ELLERBE, CEO of Mayweather Promotions

With the two styles of Adrien Broner and Shawn Porter you can’t expect anything but a great fight.

This is a tremendous platform for Mayweather Promotions. We’ve promoted the biggest fights in the history of the sport. It’s a great feeling to be part of the PBC family.

To step right on in and promote one of the biggest names of the sport in Adrien Broner, we’re expecting a great turnout and great ratings so fans across the country should make sure to tune-in.

CINCINNATI’S ADRIEN BRONER & AKRON’S SHAWN PORTER DISCUSS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE AN OHIO CHAMPION

Broner & Porter Square Off On Hnub vas xaum, Rau hli ntuj 20 On Premier Boxing Champions on NBC Live From MGM Grand Garden Arena

At 8:30 P.M. LI/5:30 P.M. PT

LAS VEGAS (Rau hli ntuj 4, 2015) – While the eyes of the sports world are fixated on game 1 of the NBA Finals between LeBron JamesCleveland Cavaliers and Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors hmo no, two other great Ohio athletes will look to bring the glory of victory home with them when AdrienThe ProblemBroner thiab “Showtime” Shawn Porter meet in the ring on Premier Boxing Champions rau NBC rau Hnub vas xaum, Rau hli ntuj 20 (8:30 p.m. LI/5:30 p.m. PT).

Both of these fighters have joined the list of Ohio-born world champions that include boxing greats such as RayBoom BoomMancini, Aaron Pryor, Buster Douglas and Kelly Pavlik.

The all-Ohio battle comes in the midst of an exciting time for Ohio sports. In addition to the Ohio State University football team’s national championship winning performance in January, Akron’s own LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers are attempting bring the city of Cleveland its first professional sports championship since 1964.

Here is what Broner and Porter had to say about Ohio sports, LeBron and more:

Did you root for Ohio-sports teams growing up? Which ones were your favorite and who were your favorite players? What’s your favorite memory of watching Ohio sports teams?

Adrien Broner:I grew up watching the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Cavaliers. I didn’t start watching basketball until I was playing more of it in elementary and high school. That’s when LeBron first came into the league. I remember LeBron’s very first game in Cleveland. It was huge. Most players freeze under that kind of hype, but not him.

Shawn Porter: “I’ve always been a huge Browns fan. I’ve tried to watch every draft and every preseason and regular season game. I got into the Cavaliers a little more when I was in high school. I’m an all around Ohio sports fan though.

How would you describe Ohio-sports fans? How badly do you want to win for them?

AB:Ohio fans are very supportive. Some other states don’t like us because we come out strong. I would love to win for the fans in Ohio because bringing a championship back there means a lot to me. I’ve done it three times already and I’m looking for a fourth. You always want that rush again.

SP: We’re crazy! Cleveland fans root for their teams with a love and respect that’s admirable. Whether it’s good days or bad days we’re faithful and trying to stay positive. It would be huge for me to win for the fans here and represent Ohio. I’m doing this for everyone in Northeast Ohio. This is a statement about a great kid from Ohio representing the people there and winning another big fight.

How important was LeBron James returning to Cleveland for the psyche of Ohio sports?

AB: “LeBron coming home was very important because he’s made the Cavs so much better. With him in Cleveland we’re back in the championship series.

SP: “LeBron coming home was huge. If he didn’t return I don’t know what we’d have done. There probably would have been more riots. But him coming back brought joy to all of us in Ohio. That’s part of our job as professional athletes to bring joy and positivity to family, friends and the fans. That’s exactly what he did by returning to Cleveland.

Will you be watching the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals? Do you have a prediction for the series?

AB: “I’ll definitely be watching the games. No training until after the game hmo no. I think Cleveland wins it all in six games.

SP: “I don’t make predictions. I’m praying for the Cavs to do this for the city and for themselves. Hopefully they can pull it together and get what they deserve. It would be a great to get a win for the team and for NE Ohio. I’ll be watching every game on my projection screen.

Describe what it’s like to fight in front of a hometown crowd in Ohio?

AB: It’s always fun fighting at home in front of a lot of people who know you. Even when your back is against the wall they cheer and help push me on.

SP: “Honestly, all the crowds are the same when I’m in the ring. I’m actually looking forward to fighting in the big arena at MGM Grand though. I kind of like having a mix of people in the crowd with some for and some against me.

Is there more pressure and emphasis on performing well on Rau hli ntuj 20 to walk away with bragging rights in Ohio?

AB:I think I already have the bragging rights in Ohio.

SP: There’s no added pressure, it honestly doesn’t matter to me like that. This is first and foremost about my team. We’re successful as a team and as a family.

If you could meet one athlete from or who played in the state of Ohio who would it be?

AB: “I’d have to say myself.

SP: I met my all-time favorite Cris Carter already. Cris is from Ohio and went to Ohio State. I haven’t met Charles Woodson or LeBron though. Charles is from here, but he went to Michigan for college. But I’d really love to meet LeBron because he’s still doing his thing and he has that burning desire to win. I need to have that same desire and I’m learning that from watching him play.

Al Michaels: Tonight, boxing returns to primetimein the debut of Premier Boxing Champions on NBC. This is a brand new boxing series that will showcase many of the top fighters in the sport on network television, making boxing far more accessible to fans, with less of an emphasis on jockeying for belts and more of a focus on competitive fights.

SugarRay Leonard:It doesn’t get any better than thisboxing is back on primetime TV. My career, amateur thiab kev, began on network television. These boxers know the power of the networks. Yesterday, they said they want to be champions and also famous. It all begins right here, right now.

Michaels introducing blow-by-blow announcer Marv Albert:And yes Marv is here, and it counts.

Marv Albert on calling NBC’s last major primetime bout (Larry Holmes vs. CarlThe Truth” Hmong/Williams, Tej zaum 20, 1985):Yes, I do recall very well that night in Reno, Nevada some 30 xyoo dhau los….30 xyoo dhau los, I was 12 at the time.

Albert:Hall of Fame referee Steve Smoger is with us [at ringside], should there be some issues, controversies, or bizarre occurrencesBut that never happens in boxing.

ON THURMAN-GUERRERO

Leonard on Thurman (pre-fight):Thurman, he’s so analytical, he breaks down his opponents, he has knockout power in both hands, he puts his punches together well, and if he gets you in trouble, he’s coming after you.

Leonard on Guerrero (pre-fight):Guerrero, he went the distance with Floyd Mayweather, his defense is his offense. He’s aggressive, relentless, durable, and has never been knocked out.

Leonard on Thurman in Round 1:Most fighters have a problem with southpawsbut Thurman looks pretty good here.

Leonard on Guerrero in Round 1:Guerrero needs to use his jab to work his way inside.

Albert on Thurman in Round 2:It has been all Keith Thurman on the attackhe’s a power puncher, looks for the early knockouthe’s off to a terrific start.

Steve Smoger on Thurman’s injury after an unintentional head-butt in Round 3:If Thurman cannot continue after the 4th Round, they’ll go to the cards. That’s the situation and that’s pursuant to Nevada rule.

Leonard on Thurman’s Round 4 right hand to Guerrero’s head:Most guys would have gone down from that shot.

Leonard on Thurman in Round 7:He’s in such control.

Leonard on Round 7:Thurman can’t fall asleep on Guerrero, who still has power in both hands.

Leonard on Guerrero in Round 8:Guerrero needs to be more aggressive and cut the ring off.

ON ADRIEN BRONER- JOHN MOLINA JR.

Leonard on Adrien Broner:I had a little showmanship in me in my years, but Broner definitely is a showman. I knew when not to cross the lineBroner is a gifted fighter, but sometimes gets a little vulgar in his antics. I just don’t want that to overshadow his talent.

Albert on Broner:At times he has been off-the-wall outrageous.

B.J. Flores on Broner (pre-fight):His speed, his reflexes, his athleticism. Adrien Broner is a problem, and a mismatch for anybody he faces because of those natural gifts. Now, whenever he gets in the ring, he likes to stand and use those reflexes and that speed for offense, combination punching and defense.

Leonard on Molina Jr. in Round 1:He needs to make this an ugly fight.

Leonard in Round 1:Broner has the best eyeshe sees and anticipates everything coming and is able to counter those punches.

Laila Ali on Round 1:Molina’s corner is not happy with his inactivity.

Ali on Molina Jr.’s inactivity after Round 6:So far Molina has not been listening to his corner.

Leonard in Round 8:Molina waited too long to become an aggressor.

Albert on Broner talking as fighters clinch in Round 8:There are sweet nothings being whispered into the ear of John Molina.

Albert on the fighterscontinual chatter in Round 10:I get the idea that there is a talk show going on up there and the guests are Adrien Broner and John Molina.

Smoger on the officiating in Broner-Molina Jr. in Round 10:I just think we’ve had a bit of over-officiating. Once the referee goes in and starts to lecture, it breaks the flow of the fight and it takes the fighters out of their game plan. He’s trying to control the fight, but I think he’s over-officiating.

Albert on exchange by fighters at end of the Round 10:What a finish!”

Ali on Molina in the Round 11:Joe Goossen has been pleading with John Molina to listen to him.

Leonard on Molina in the Round 12:When Molina watches the tape of this fight he’s going to be very disappointed in himself, because he has more. He’s a warrior.

Albert on Broner:It will be a convincing victory for ‘The Problem,’ who was a problem for John Molina.

If my fight goes two, six or eight roundsI’m looking for the knockout. I’m waiting for him to slip up and for me to deliver that one time blow.

I am going to open up my mouth and say that I am coming to knock him out. I want to be the first fighter to ever knock out Robert ‘The GhostGuerrero. I appreciate him for taking this fight and for all that he has done. I know he’s coming to fight and get this victory, and it’s my job to not let that happen.

My brain can’t compute how big of an opportunity this is for me. It’s a blessing and an honor to be on this big of a stage. There are many world champions that could have opened up this show. This is a beautiful card and I am honored to be the main event.

This is what boxing needs. This stage is what is going to propel my career. We’re trying to bring back the golden generation.

ROBERT GUERRERO

This truly is a blessing. Being on this stage is incredible. I’m coming to fight. Rau hnub Saturdaynight I’m ready to go.

It’s a great day because you don’t need cable TV to watch boxing anymore.

My last opponent was tough and I was dealing with some injuries but you have to be able to overcome and make adjustments. I got a little wild and just started slugging it out with him.

There were doubters when I went to 147, people thought I was nuts. Every time people don’t think I can do something, I prove them wrong.

If you live the lifestyle of a fighter; you should be able to fight regularly.

I’m ready to go. I had a great training camp and worked very hard. It’s time to take care of business Hnub vas xaum hmo ntuj. We did a lot of different work in training camp to prepare for this fight.

Keith Thurman is talking about coming out and becoming the first person to knock me out. I like that type of challenge.

“[Keith] Thurman is very strong and has great lateral movement. He can box, fight on the inside. There are also a lot of flaws with his game and we are going to take advantage of his flaws.

This fight card is incredible. The exposure that we are going to get is unprecedented. Not just the fight story but my back story as well, with what kind of men we are outside of the ring.

Being out there talking to everybody and showing off, that’s just not me. So sometimes I’m not always in the public eye, because I’m more of a private man who takes care of his family. But I’m glad this stage will get my story and my wife’s story to the general public.

Mentally the whole experience of what my wife went through makes me tougher. Watching her fight for her life, it makes me realize that I step into the ring because I love this sport.

ADRIEN BRONER

I’ve been through a lo,t but I’m still here and my name has only gotten bigger, even through the bad times.

Now we have ‘AB on NBC.I’m Mr. NBC, everybody is coming to see the AB Show.

I’ll takeover whatever television channel I’m on, I don’t care if its Cartoon Network, I’m going to bring it.

John Molina is a tough world class fighter, he wouldn’t be in this position if he wasn’t. He always beats the odds and comes out on the right side of the stick, but this is the time where he’s going to be on the bad end of the stick.

We’re ready for a dog fight, it doesn’t matter how big the ring is. We’re not running from John Molina. I’m not scared of power.

We’ll see Hnub vas xaum hmo ntuj, I’m stopping John Molina and I’m putting my word on that.

The preparation during this camp was great, I feel strong and ready. It’s going to be a great fight.

At the end of the day if people say I haven’t looked my best because I haven’t stopped my opponents, but when you look at those fights I outclassed every opponent in front of me. As long as I keep winning, that’s what matters.

John Molina is going to come to fight, but they all come to fight, he’s not going to beat me.

The sky is the limit for me, I’m still young and I’ve done so much at a young age. I’m going to mature in the sport but at the end of the day I’m still me.

JOHN MOLINA JR.

It’s an honor to be part of this show that will bring boxing back to the forefront. We’re well prepared and excited to be on this platform.

It’s a great card with a can’t miss show and PBC and NBC is doing it right. I can’t wait to be a part of it and for that bell to ring Lub peb hlis ntuj 7.

Camp went well and we’re 110 percent ready to bring it. It’s a great card with a can’t miss show and PBC and NBC are doing it right. I can’t wait to be a part of it and for that bell to ring Lub peb hlis ntuj 7.

‘This is going to be dogfight Rau hnub Saturday hmo ntuj.

‘He’s the same Broner, he can say whatever he wants. He’s made his own bed with his comments and now he has to fight. His mind games that’s he trying to play won’t work.

Once we get in the ring, the talking stops, two hands just like me.

I’ve got the power and the skills to win this fight.

Enjoy the show and I promise you guys fireworks.

ABNER MARES

I’ve been a three-time world champion and I have Arturo Reyes in front of me. It’s with honor and please and excitement to be fighting on NBC.

No disrespect to the other guys up here, but I plan to steal the show. I want to look good. I’ve stolen the show before and it’s going to happen again Rau hnub Saturday hmo ntuj.

I hope everyone tunes in Hnub vas xaum hmo ntuj, everybody better watch out because Abner Mares is going to impress.

Any of these fights could be main events, no matter the order, so I’m just happy to be a part of it. A lot of people are going to be tuning in so you have to fight to grab the attention of the viewers.

It takes two to dance and it takes two to fight. When you have a fighter who is going to give you his all, it brings the best out of you. I’m fighting someone who’s never been knocked out and he’s going to bring the best Abner Mares out.

I’m going to make it a spectacular fight and I’m definitely going for the knockout.

ARTURO SANTOS REYES

I’m happy to be on the card and I’m excited to be here around such great fighters.

It’s going to be a great show and I’m looking forward to giving the fans their money’s worth.

Abner Mares is a great fighter, but I don’t fear anybody. He better come to fight.

We’re both Mexican warriors and Mexican Olympians, so you know there’s going to be fireworks in the ring and I just hope everyone in the arena and on TV enjoys.

SUGAR RAY LEONARD, PBC on NBC Analyst and Legendary Boxer

I’m just as excited as everyone else, because this is long overdue. Getting boxing back on primetime. These incredibly talented boxers know that hnub Saturday no night is like a major audition and the fans will be the judges.

I remember being in this position and It’s more than physical, it’s mental. These boxers have what it takes to be superstars. Hnub vas xaum will be a great day for boxing.

JON MILLER, President, Programming NBC Sports & NBCSN

On behalf of NBC sports we’re exited to be here, we’re fortunate to have 22-time Emmy-award winner Sam Flood overseeing the event and an A-list group of on-air talent.

I think America is ready to see boxing in primetime and Hnub vas xaum you will see and hear an unbelievable event.

We’re thrilled that these fighters and their great teams are part of the NBC family and we can’t wait to get going.

KEITHONE TIMETHURMAN

Q: How do you feel about fighting on the big stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the fourth time?

A: I love MGM Grand. The last time when I fought there as the co-main event was an honor. This is an even greater honor to be the main event. Many world-class fighters have performed there and Floyd Mayweather has made it his home. This is a dream come true.

Q: Is there any extra motivation fighting on the inaugural PBC card on NBC in primetime?

A: It’s a blessing and I’ve been working towards this for 19 xyoo. Al Haymon could have picked any of his great fighters for this moment and I’m honored be part of this night and kick things off right.

Q: What do you think the return of boxing to primetime network television could accomplish for the sport of boxing?

A: With NBC coming back to primetime boxing it gives us boxers a chance to shine again on the biggest stage. We’ve been continuing to fill up arenas for years, but boxing is returning to the mainstream spotlight with an even bigger punch on Lub peb hlis ntuj 7.

Q: What do you think of your opponent?

A: His father had a few comments, and some things were said, but I’m expecting him to come out throwing punches and looking to execute his game plan when we enter the ring. We’re going to show him that he never should have signed this contract. There’s a different side of Keith Thurman inside that ring and he’s going to learn the hard way.

Q: Is there anything he does in the ring that concerns you?

A: He hasn’t fought anyone with extreme power like me.

Q: Are you doing anything special to prepare for this particular matchup?

A: He’s been in the ring with some great fighters, but every fight is itsown learning experience. We work hard in training every time to outbox boxers, outpunch punchers, and I’m expecting to be ready to do everything better than him.

Q: What have you been doing to pass the time when you’re not at the gym or training?

A: It’s actually a very mundane lifestyle. I’m resting, getting acupuncture or massage therapy. I like to go out and find good hip-hop. I’ve been eating some good sushi and seaweed salad, but just staying on my diet and resting and recovering before my late night run and maybe a session in my hyperbaric chamber.

Q: What should the fans expect on Lub peb hlis ntuj 7? Do you have a prediction?

A: I’ll be honest, I’m going to stand there and exchange with him for six rounds, and if he’s still standing there we’ll see. With my punching power the KO can come at any time with that one punch. If he walks into it or I lunge at himit can even be a body shot. I’m just looking to get him out of there. I’m going to do what I need to do to stay a champion and we’re looking to move on past Lub peb hlis ntuj 7 with a victory.

ROBERTTHE GHOSTGUERRERO

Q: How do you feel about fighting on the big stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena?

A: MGM Grand is the Mecca of boxing venues and I’m very excited to be performing in the main event against an undefeated young lion like Keith Thurman.

Q: Is there any extra motivation fighting on the inaugural PBC card on NBC in primetime?

A: Oh yeah, I'm extremely motivated to be the first fighter to bring boxing back to NBC on primetime. Al Haymon is doing a fantastic job with the PBC. I want to show the world I'm an elite fighter and what better way to do it then against an undefeated world champion.

Q: What do you think the return of boxing to primetime network television could accomplish for the sport of boxing?

A: It's so great in so many ways. First, anyone with a TV can watch this fight, so millions of more people can tune in. The number of new fans that will be gained will be unbelievable. For those hardcore fans who can't afford cable, this will be a breathe of fresh air to see a top notch fight on regular network TV. Fans who are just hanging at a restaurant or sports bar, who don't even like boxing will be tuning in, and they will all become new fans with the action they'll be seeing. It's going to be great for everyone.

Q: What do you think of your opponent?

A: Thurman has a lot of power and that's something I must be aware of.

Q: Is there anything he does in the ring that concerns you?

A: He’s a good fighter, but I’ll be prepared for whatever he brings into the ring Rau hnub Saturday.

Q: Are you doing anything special to prepare for this particular matchup?

A: I'm doing a few different things but nothing I can talk about at the moment.

Q: What have you been doing to pass the time when you’re not at the gym or training?

A: Spending time with my family. They're my motivation.

Q: What should the fans expect on Lub peb hlis ntuj 7? Do you have a prediction?

A: In Spanish we say "Chingasos." That's what the fans can expect from me on March 7th. My hands will be raised at the end of the fight and you'll hear the referee say "And the new..."

ADRIENTHE PROBLEMBRONER

Q: How do you feel about fighting on the big stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena?

A: You know I love the big moment with the spotlight. Lub peb hlis ntuj 7 is going to be my time to shine and MGM Grand is the place to do it.

Q: Is there any extra motivation fighting on the inaugural PBC card on NBC in primetime?

A: Of course, Al Haymon has lots of guys who could have fought on this first card and I’m honored to have been chosen.

Q: What do you think the return of boxing to primetime network television could accomplish for the sport of boxing?

A: This is a huge deal. This is our chance to get the attention of a whole new crowd of people. This is going to make boxing bigger than ever.

Q: What do you think of your opponent?

A: John Molina Jr. is a true warrior. His nickname suits him. He’s like a punching bag that can hit back with power. He’s a deadly fighter. It can only take a second for a fight to change dramatically with a guy like that, so I’m taking this fight very seriously. I’ll be ready though.

Q: Is there anything he does in the ring that concerns you?

A: It can only take a second for a fight to change dramatically with a guy like that, so I’m taking this fight very seriously. I’ll be ready though.

Q: Are you doing anything special to prepare for this particular matchup?

A: We’re just doing what we always do, putting in hard work. It’s been great having this experience with my newborn son, but I’m very focused on Lub peb hlis ntuj 7.

Q: What have you been doing to pass the time when you’re not at the gym or training?

A: Well actually I just had a son born, Adrieon, a couple weeks ago. I was supposed to go out to Washington D.C. towards the end of my training camp, but I ended up staying in Cincinnati to be with his mother and to see him be born. It was a great experience.

Q: What should the fans expect on Lub peb hlis ntuj 7? Do you have a prediction?

A: There’s going to be lots of heavy hitting. I’m looking forward to stopping John Molina Jr., and if I don’t stop him it will be a bloody massacre.

JOHNTHE GLADIATORMOLINA JR.

Q: How do you feel about fighting on the big stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena?

A: I’m very excited to be back there again. This is going to be a great night of boxing for the world to see.

Q: Is there any extra motivation fighting on the inaugural PBC card on NBC in primetime?

A: I’m always motivated, but I don’t want to dig too much into the hype and risk getting distracted. Being on this platform on NBC is great for the sport. I just don’t want to psych myself out.

Q: What do you think the return of boxing to primetime network television could accomplish for the sport of boxing?

A: It doesn’t get any bigger. We’re back in the mainstream section of sports. Being back on NBC and in 120 million homes is huge. For us fighters who put our lives on the line this is very exciting.

Q: What do you think of your opponent?

A: He’s a very talented three-time world champion, but he’s just another fighter like me.

Q: Is there anything he does in the ring that concerns you?

A: Not really, I’ll be looking to come out victorious like any other time that I step into the ring.

Q: Are you doing anything special to prepare for this particular matchup?

A: I’m not doing anything special, but this is the best camp I’ve ever had. There are no excuses going into this one. We obviously have a game plan because we know every fight is different, but there’s nothing necessarily special aside from preparing 110 percent.

Q: What have you been doing to pass the time when you’re not at the gym or training?

A: I like to spend time with my family. It’s important to remember why and who I’m doing this for. So on days off I like to be with my wife and child. There have been lots of emotional hiccups during this camp with the passing of my grandfather, and then my best friend lost his battle with Cystic Fibrosis. So it’s been tough finding the time to mourn those important people properly, but it’s just further motivation for me to perform well.

Q: What should the fans expect on Lub peb hlis ntuj 7? Do you have a prediction?

A: It’s going to be an amazing match. Every time I enter the ring it’s a fight of the year candidate and I’m going to win.

ABNER MARES

Q: How do you feel about fighting on the big stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena?

A: I’ve fought at MGM Grand over 10 timesit feels like homeand I’ve won there every time, thank God. I’m looking forward to winning there again on Lub peb hlis ntuj 7.

Q: Is there any extra motivation fighting on the inaugural PBC card?

A: Yes, of course! I’m looking forward to fighting on the PBC inaugural card on NBC and on national TV. It’s an amazing opportunity to showcase my talent to new viewers as well as boxing fans.

Q: What do you think the return of boxing to primetime network television could accomplish for the sport of boxing?

A: It’s huge for the sport. If you go back to the Sugar Ray Leonard days, all these fights were televised on broadcast TV, and on NBC, so the history is there. To have it kick off on Saturday, Lub peb hlis ntuj 7 in primetime is a real boost for the sport and the fans. People are going to appreciate the sweet science of boxing through this fight and series.

Q: What do you think of your opponent?

A: For me, I’m ready for the fight. I don’t underestimate him; he’s a dangerous fighter in that he is an ex-Olympian so he has that amateur background.

Q: Is there anything he does in the ring that concerns you?

A: He’s had a good record and has fought some tough opposition. He brings lots of experience into the ring. I’m ready for him though.

Q: Are you doing anything special to prepare for this particular matchup?

A: This is not about one fight but about a career. We approach this fightand every fightwith dedication and commitment. Not only to the sport and its history, but our training program. My team and I are focused on winning and earning my fourth belt.

Q: What have you been doing to pass the time when you’re not at the gym or training?

A: I think everyone knows that I’m a family man. When I’m not in the gym or training I’m spending time with my wife and two daughters.

Q: What should the fans expect on Lub peb hlis ntuj 7? Do you have a prediction?

A: Fireworks. I’m not just fighting my opponent that night; I’m fighting towards my fourth belt.

Check out what the fighters had to say about their upcoming bouts:

John Molina Jr., Super Lightweight Contender

Being the underdog is how I got to this point. I took the scenic route to get here but I’m definitely excited to be on this big show on NBC. It’s going to be a great night of boxing onLub peb hlis ntuj 7.

“Tus (Humberto) Soto fight was a learning experience, but going in as the underdog is about going in and doing your job. I’ve had a lot of success as an underdog.

I just took the positives from my last fight and tried to make the best of it and now I’m here today with the golden ticket in my hand.

To see where I’m at today, after all I’ve gone through in my career, I’m in awe sometimes but we’re just barely getting started.

I’m undefeated against quick guys like Adrien Broner and I love being the underdog. Adrien Broner is a great name for the sport of boxing, everyone loves to hate him, so it’s going to be a great night of boxing.

Stylistically it’s two very different styles and that is what makes great fights. It’s like Apollo Creed and Rocky.

There’s nothing in the past or before this, I’m only focused on being victorious on Lub peb hlis ntuj 7.”

Abner Mares, Former Three-Division World Champion

I have always felt the love from all my different coaches. There’s no perfect coach and no perfect fighter. Going back to Clemente Medina was just the most perfect fit. He knows me well and we’re on the same page. There is a lot of comfort.

I didn’t lose anything from the Gonzalez fight, I gained. I learned a lot from that fight and now I’m more focused on becoming better and better.

I have to go out there and make a statement. I’m going out there and branding myself on national television. I’m excited for people to see me out there and my mentality is to go in there and impress. I want to steal the show.

I hope Leo Santa Cruz is next. I know it’s there. I just want to look sharp and go from there.
