ERICKSON OUT, POWELL IN TO FACE LEMKE IN FRONT OF UFC PRESIDENT
Bangor, Maine (Julio 18, 2016) – When Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White comes to Bangor onAgosto 5, 2016 to check out the local talent New England Fights (NEF) has to offer, Jesse “El Vikingo” Erickson (7-5) will unfortunately have to watch from the sidelines. Erickson suffered an injury while training for his bout with Jon Lemke (5-5) previously-scheduled to take place that evening. White will be present to record a future episode of his web series Dana White: Pase a ver’ for a Fight in which professional mixed-martial-artists have a shot at earning a UFC contract based on their performance.
Within mere hours of being informed of Erickson’s injury, NEF executives had found a replacement in the form of the promotion’s reigning professional lightweight champion Devin Powell (7-1). The bout will be a non-title contest scheduled for three-rounds at a catchweight of 160-pounds. It is a rematch of a May 2014 NEF fight which Powell won via first-round submission. Should Lemke win the rematch, he will be in line for a title shot in the rubber match.
“Una vez más, I am incredibly thankful and grateful to NEF for making this fight happen,” dijo Lemke. “Getting an opponent change last minute is usually pretty stressful. Not this time, sin embargo, as the crew at NEF was on top of it, and the next day I had a new opponent. I am very much looking forward to getting another crack at Devin, as I had a horrible showing in our first fight. Devin is a highly-touted and talented fighter and I expect an all out battle for sure. I have been looking forward to another crack at him for some time and you will see the best Jon Lemke yet.”
“Taking a short notice fight against Lemke was a no brainer,” stated Powell. “No way could I pass on a chance to fight a fellow Mainer a few hours away from my mom’s hometown of Allagash, Maine. Dana, I hope you get your popcorn, because you’re about to see a show. Hell or high water, I’m getting my hand raised.”

LONDRES — (Julio 16, 2016) - Douglas Lima (27-6) y Paul Daley (38-14-2) had been bound to cross paths throughout their Bellator MMA tenures, and on Saturday night at The O2 in London, the welterweight battle finally came to a head.
El evento principal de “Bellator 158: Londres” pitted the former 170-pound titlist against “Semtex,” an Englishman who has been on a tear since coming back into the fray. Over the course of 15 acta, the two warriors ripped into each other’s bodies, rocking their foe with shots and scoring takedowns. Much to the chagrin of Daley’s hometown faithful, Lima got the better of Daley, earning a unanimous decision of (30-27 x3). Con la victoria, Lima, eyes a rematch with Andrey Koreshkov, the man who took his title nearly a year ago.
Matt Mitrione Moves to 2-0 Under the Bellator MMA Umbrella
Matt Mitrione (11-5) returned to the Bellator MMA cage fresh off his victory at “Bellator: Dynamite 2” and finished Oli Thompson (17-9), winning his second fight in three weeks. “Meathead” and the former Britain’s strongest man winner went toe-to-toe for the better part of two rounds, but at 4:21 in the second frame, Mitrione turned the lights out for Thompson. Ahora, Mitrione moves ever closer to a shot at the vacant heavyweight belt, something he hopes to claim before the end of 2016.
Michael Page’s Knee Catches Itself A ‘Cyborg’
It’s rare when antics following a fight upstage a flying knee knockout, pero Michael Página (12-0) managed to do just that with his second round finish of Evangelista “Cyborg” (21-19) on Satuday night in London. El final llegó en 4:31 de la segunda trama, when Cyborg shot for a takedown but was caught in the head with a knee that sent him sprawling to the mat.
Después de esto, “Venom” continued to do what he does best – entertain.
