HOUSTON, Texas – October 24, 2024 – Red Owl Boxing’s flagship seriesBOXFEST will return next Friday with its next edition on November 1, streaming live on DAZN globally in more than 200 territories and regions from the state-of-the-art “Owl’s Nest” in Houston at 9pm ET/8pm CT.

Combat Sports Trainer Orlando Cuellar to be inducted into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame November 23rd in Tampa

TAMPA (十月 23, 2024) - Veteran combat sports trainer Orlando Cuellar has had to purchase a larger display case for all the awards he has received during his 40-year career as a combat sports trainer.

Another prestigious award will be added when Cuellar is inducted into the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame at a special ceremony on November 23rd in Tampa, 佛罗里达.

Cuellar has perfected his craft during the past several decades, starting in Miami, relocating in Las Vegas for a while and then several years in New York City. Orlando made a full circle back to Miami, where he has enjoyed his most success since he created his base there as a world-class professional boxing trainer, renowned strike coach in mixed-martial-arts, and highly respected mentor in bare-knuckle fighting as a trainer. Cuellar has also trained fighters in training camps around the world.

His remarkable coaching career has resulted in building and fine-tuning numerous world champions in boxing, MMA, and bare-knuckle fighting, as well as being the trainer/coach of a record-setting feat when his bare-knuckle fighter stopped his opponent in 3-seconds four years ago for the world’s fastest combat sports knockout.

“I’m truly honored and humbled for this wonderful recognition from the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame with its long history,” Cuellar said. “I’m looking forward to the induction ceremony on November 23^RD in Tampa.”

Cuellar was inducted into the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame in 2021 and International Martial Arts Hall of Fame this year, in addition to receiving the Coaches Championship Belt last year from the National Boxing Association (NBA) in association with the World Boxing Association (WBA), selected as the 2004 Trainer of the Year by Boxing Scene, and nominated several times as Trainer of the Year by the Boxing Writers of America Association (BWAA). He also received a Special Achievement Award in 2020 from the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame.

Master trainers like Cuellar teach their fighters, not just instruct them in the corner and hold pads. His experience is invaluable in terms of the overall success of his many combat sports fighters.

The competition, for male and female boxers aged 17 和 18, is World Boxing’s first-ever global championships. It will feature athletes from all five Continents that compete in boxing and will be held across 10 weight categories for both men and women.

“I think Metcalf maintains her boxing style with that blessed height (5“ 7 ½”) because she works so hard. She is a single mother (as is Miyo) and tries many things. She can be rough with her language, but I basically respect her. I will defend and firmly avenge my loss to her to advance my story.”

Yoshida also attributed much of her success to her New York City-based team: head trainer Jimmy Sosa, his brother and assistant trainer Aurelinna, strength-and-conditioning coach Sergie Korchynskyy, and manager Keith Sullivan.

“The Sosas are like a father to me and Sergie is like my brother,” Yoshida said. “They come to listen to my lectures, and I learn important things in life, not only through boxing, but also with many kids at Cops & Kids Boxing gym in Brooklyn. Team Sosa patiently teaches me until I understand even if there is a language barrier. I appreciate that and members of Team Sosa are learning Japanese, because the team is united as one.” 4-time World Champion Jorge Linares will work her corner, and he speaks fluent Japanese.

“Keith is my manager, and he listens to me kindly and explores many possibilities for me. He understands my struggles as a single mother, in a foreign country.”

Illinois junior welterweight Quinn McKenna (1-0-1, 0 科斯) won his first fight as a pro, taking a four-round unanimous decision from Clayton Hibbert (2-3, 2 科斯). SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – October 18, 2024 – Michigan’s Joshua Pagan outdueled cagey veteran Haskell Rhodes in the “Fight of the Night” and main event of Salita Promotions’“Big Time Boxing Puerto Rico” event on Friday with a unanimous decision victory from the Coca-Cola Music Hall and on DAZN.
