BOK HALL TO HOST BELLATOR MMA AND KICKBOXING EVENTS

 

 

 

LOS ANGELES – Bellator will hold its third event in Budapest, Hungría Viernes, Abril 6, bringing along a battle of young guns looking to remain undefeated early in their mixed martial arts careers. The pride of Strabane, Irlanda del Norte, James Gallagher (7-0) meets Budapest’s Adam Borics (10-0) in an exciting Bellator 196 featherweight main event matchup.

 

 

A women’s flyweight bout will serve as the co-main event of the card, when the Bellator women’s 125-pound kickboxing champion Denise Kielholtz (1-1) adquiere Lena Ovchynnikova (12-5, 1 NC). There are few mixed martial artists that invoke the type of polarizing reaction “The Strabanimal” does when entering the Bellator cage. A longtime training partner of Conor McGregor under the tutelage of world-renowned coach John Kavanagh at SBG Ireland, the 21-year-old has been on a tear since signing with Bellator in 2016, racking up four wins in four contests. With each victory, Gallagher has showcased a growing skillset, culminating in a first-round submission of Chinzo Machida at Bellator 180 el pasado junio. “It’s going to be a tough fight against Hugo Centeno Jr. If he can stand up to my power, we’re going to fight and it’ll be a brutal war. If he can’t, I’ll take him out in the first round.
“We can’t let Houston down now. My brother and I have made it this far. We can’t stop now. It’s my turn to put on a spectacular performance on March 3. I’m trying to one-up my brother’s previous performance each time I step in there.
“My goal is to show everybody that I’m the best middleweight in the world. I’m going to keep fighting everyone they put in front of me. I’m going to knock them out one-by-one until Canelo or Golovkin have to face me.
“I’ve had the chance to work on some improvements to my game since my last fight. I think having even more patience in the ring is going to help step my game up even higher. I want to be a champion at middleweight more than I did at 154-pounds.
“Hugo Centeno Jr. is another fighter who is in my way. I know he’ll come in prepared, but I’m confident I’m going to walk out of there with the victory.

United Boxing Promotions signs Indian prospect Sukhdeep Singh

Pro debut Marzo 17 en Canadá
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Canadá (Febrero 8, 2018) – Promociones United Boxing (UBP) announced today that it has signed Indian super middleweight prospect Sukhdeep Singh for his professional debut, Marzo 17, en el Centro Hersey en Mississauga, Ontario, Canadá.

Hijo del ex campeón mundial Agapito Sánchez firma contrato gerencial
Queens, Nueva York (Febrero 8, 2018) – El Matador Management se enorgullece de anunciar la firma del prospecto invicto de peso pluma Juan “Ciclón” Sánchez a un contrato gerencial exclusivo.
Sánchez, 22 años de Allentown, Pensilvania tiene una marca perfecta de 4-0 con un solo golpe de gracia. Es hijo del ex campeón mundial de peso súper gallo de la OMB., Agapito Sanchez. BOUCHER & SHEA LOOKING TO BOUNCE BACK FROM LOSSES AT NEF 33

Nate Boucher will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses in the NEF cage. The former wrestler from Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine lost very close split decisions at both “NEF 31” y “NEF 32″ recently. The first was an amateur flyweight title fight against Justin Witham (4-4) en Portland. Like Boucher, Walt Shea was undefeated prior to his last loss in the NEF cage. Shea had defeated Joel Downing (0-1) en “NEF 25” and then Alan Bustamante (0-1) en “NEF 27.” Both victories came by way of unanimous decision. “Medina is a rough, tough competitor who comes to win every time. He puts it all on the line, so I expect it to be a great fight. He’s going to fight to the very end so I have to be ready.
