LOWELL, Massa. (Februari 21, 2016) – The best amateur boxers in New England will compete this coming week in the open class semifinals and finals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, deze woensdag (Februari. 24) and Thursday (Februari. 25) evenings, respectievelijk, in het historische Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

De opbrengst van de Lowell Zon Charities Golden Gloves Championship te gaan in de richting van het versturen van de New England Golden Gloves kampioenen aan de Nationale Golden Gloves Championship (2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah), Naast het ondersteunen van lokale atleten en omgeving sportscholen, the Boys & Girls Club, soepkeukens, daklozenopvang, kanker fondsen, beurzen en vele andere grote goede doelen.
Keeping with tradition, drawings for the semifinals will not be held until this Tuesday night. Winners in the semifinals will advance to the finals. At stake is a spot on Team New England for the 2016 Nationale Golden Gloves Kampioenschappen, Mei 16-21, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
