Lewiston, Maine (Januari 20, 2015) -nieuwe Engeland Fights (NEF), Amerika's nummer een regionale strijd promotie, presenteert haar zestiende mixed martial arts (MMA) evenement, "NEF XVI,"Op Februari 7, 2015 in Lewiston, Maine. The event is scheduled to originate from the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. Eerder vandaag, NEF kondigde de volledige strijd kaart voor het evenement. A pair of title fights are scheduled to headline the card which will feature veterans of the National Football League (NFL), de Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Bellator MMA, Wereld Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) en Strikeforce MMA.

In het main event van de avond, Straal “All Business” Hout (5-0) zal de NEF MMA vedergewicht titel te verdedigen tegen de uitdaging van Philadelphia Anthony “Cheesesteak” Morrison (16-9). Morrison is a veteran of the Bellator and World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) cages. He will be Wood’s highest-profile challenge to date. Many insiders predict that Wood could be one or two wins away from getting the call to one of the national promotions himself.
De co-main event van de avond zullen zien Tyler Koning (7-2) verdedigen de NEF MMA zwaargewicht titel tegen Terry “De Polar Bear” Blackburn (5-2). Dr. Bang is a 46-year-old bariatric surgeon with a background in wrestling.
