LONDEN — (Juli 16, 2016) - Douglas Lima (27-6) en Paul Daley (38-14-2) had been bound to cross paths throughout their Bellator MMA tenures, and on Saturday night at The O2 in London, the welterweight battle finally came to a head.

Michael Page’s Knee Catches Itself A ‘Cyborg’

It’s rare when antics following a fight upstage a flying knee knockout, maar Michael Pagina (12-0) managed to do just that with his second round finish of Evangelista “Cyborg” (21-19) on Satuday night in London. New York, NY, Juli 16, 2016 – The most action-packed, hardest-hitting weekend in sports this summer will be not be in Rio – but in Anaheim – as Spike Sports presents two world-class events on back-to-back nights. Bellator MMA’s Benson Henderson(23-6) en Patrick “Pitbull” Freire (25-3), two of the most exciting mixed martial arts fighters in the world, do battle on Vrijdag, Augustus 26 (10:00pm-12:00ben ET/PT). The action continues the next day with Robert “The Ghost” Krijger(33-4-1) nemen David Emanuel Peralta (25-2-1) op Zaterdag, Augustus 27 (9:00-11:00pm ET/PT). Both events will emanate from Honda Center in Anaheim, ZOALS.
Benson Henderson has fought and beaten many of the best fighters in the world. His impressive resume includes victories over: Frankie Edgar, Donald Cerrone, Gilbert Melendez, Nate Diaz, Jim Miller and Bellator’s Josh Thomson. Maar “Glad” has never faced an angry “Pitbull” in one of the most important fights of his life.
Patrick “Pitbull” Freiere is a former featherweight world champion who is stepping up to lightweight in the biggest challenge of his decorated career. In a Shakespearean twist, a win over Henderson would put him in line for a title shot against recently crowned 155-pound champion Michael Chandler, who scored a brutal knockout over Patricio’s brother to secure the division’s crown. But to avenge his brother’s loss, he must first defeat the highly-regarded “Bendo.”
Henderson is also in need of a big win as his recent Bellator debut was spoiled by welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov. The hard-hitting Russian scored a unanimous decision victory in a five-round brawl against Henderson this past April at“Bellator 153: Koreshkov vs. Henderson.”
Robert Guerrero is among the biggest names in boxing today, having fought the sport’s marquee names like Floyd Mayweather. A former world champion in multiple weight classes, he owns signature victories over Andre Berto and Joel Casamayor. But now Guerrero is on a quest to return to the top of the welterweight division beginning with this matchup on August 27. He must defeat the hard-hitting Argentinian slugger David Emanuel Peralta to see his dreams of sitting atop the division realized once again.
The tripleheader also features all-action slugger Alfredo Angulo (24-5)taking on battle-tested Freddy Hernandez (33-8)in a battle of Mexican brawlers. A fan favorite in Southern California, Angulo enters this fight coming off of two knockout victories and he will look to make it three in a row when he steps into the ring onAugustus 27. A veteran of many exciting 154-pound contests, Angulo is looking to continue to make noise in the middleweight division against Hernandez, who has won his last three fights heading into this showdown.
Rounding out the night of televised fights is 2012 U.S. Olympiër Terrell Gausha(18-0) putting his undefeated record on the line against the Bronx’s Steve Martinez(16-2). NEWLY ANNOUNCED EVENT TAKES PLACE Augustus 26 AT HONDA CENTER IN ANAHEIM, CALIF.

SANTA MONICA, CALIF (Juli, 16) - Patrick "Pitbull" (25-3) is actively seeking revenge for his brother Patricky "Pitbull" after Bellator MMA’s new 155-pound kingpin Michael Chandler brutally finished the elder Freire during the co-main event of last month’s "Bellator: Dynamite 2”evenement.

Hailing from Paris, Frankrijk, the 34-year-old Carmont will be making his first appearance of 2016 and fourth under the Bellator MMA umbrella. " After winning his first bout of the evening, Carmont replaced an injured Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal on just a few minutes’ notice, to face a formidable Phil Davis in the tournament final, where he was defeated. A native of Przemysl, Polen, Klinger has been competing professionally since 2013 and taken fights almost exclusively in the United Kingdom. The 32-year-old went nearly three years without suffering his first loss as a pro, amassing finishes in all seven of his victories. “Hitman” has laced up the gloves once already in 2016, and now looks to impress in his Bellator MMA debut when he faces Carmont on Juli 16 at The O2 in London.

The 37-year-old Mitrione will enter the Bellator cage for the second time under a month, after knocking out Seumanutafa (10-6) in his promotional debut on June 24, in a journey that was brilliantly documented by Chuck Mindenhall. A native of Indianapolis, “Meathead” joined the Bellator MMA team as one of the highest profile free agent acquisitions ever, carrying with him a talented athletic background that includes stints in the NFL with the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings. Mitrione is a 14-time UFC veteran that is known for ending fights early and violently, with nine of his ten victories coming by way of knockout and six of them ending in the first round.

 

A resident of East Sussex, Engeland, Thompson will be making his Bellator MMA debut after 25 career fights amongst the heavyweight division’s elite. “The Spartan,” who solidified himself as “Britain’s Strongest Man” in 2006, is looking to build off an impressive 2015 campagne, in which he emerged victorious in all five of his bouts, including two first round knockouts. The Brazilian light heavyweight now has seven career finishes to his name, including three in the first round, and will look to add to that total when he enters the cage with fellow Brazilian competitor Philipe Lins on Juli 22.

 

Afkomstig uit Natal, Lins has consistently impressed through his first 10 professionele periodes, recording nine wins, with four victories coming by way of knockout. After winning his first four professional fights, Lins decided to take an extended break from MMA from 2007 totdat 2011. MacFarlane Displays Phenomenal Ground Game En Route to Submission win Over Ruth

In the second MMA battle of the evening, Ilima-Lei MacFarlane (4-0) was able to continue her rapid ascension to the top of the women’s flyweight division and remain undefeated with an impressive rear-naked choke submission over Rebecca Ruth (6-2). MacFarlane’s remarkable ground game and jiu-jitsu skill set was on full display tonight, forcing the veteran Ruth to tap out three minutes into the second round. For Ruth, the loss is just the second of her career and first since 2014. The win is “The Ilimanator’s” third since joining the promotion and is her first submission victory of the rear-naked choke variety.

Gloria Peritore Takes Split Decision Victory From Denise Kielholtz

 

In the opening kickboxing bout of "Bellator: Dynamite 2,” Gloria Peritore (11-1-1) was able to edge out Denise Kielholtz (44-3), taking home a split decision victory. It was an even battle from start to finish, but in the end it was the judges’ scorecards that read 29-28, 28-29, 29-28 in favor of the Italian. The loss is just the third of Kielholtz’s career and left the Dutch powerhouse completely speechless in the center of the ring. For the 27-year-old Peritore, the win gives her 11 since making her professional debut only two years ago.

Matt Mitrione Ignites Full House in Opening Bout of “Bellator: Dynamite 2”

Matt Mitrione (10-5) was able to absorb an early blow from Carl Seumanutafa (10-7) net 20 seconds into round one and answered with a flash of brilliance 3:22 into the opening frame. The come-from-behind knockout victory is the ninth of that variety and tenth of Mitrione’s career. “Meathead” proved his ability to outlast yet another opponent in what will surely go down as one of the greatest Bellator MMA debuts of all time. Nu, Mitrione sets his sights on returning to the cage as quickly as possible, with the goal of winning Bellator gold on his mind.

LONDEN — (Juni 20, 2016) – A featherweight matchup pitting top Irish MMA prospect James Gallagher (3-0) tegen Mike Cutting (6-5) is toegevoegd aan de hoofdkaart van "Bellator 158: Londen," which emanates from the world’s most popular entertainment venue, The O2 in London, Engeland, juli 16.

Gallagher has begun his professional career with three consecutive victories, all of which have concluded by way of submission in the opening frame. He will look to build on his budding young career when he challenges “Gip” next month at The O2 in London.

 

A native of Hampshire, Engeland, Cutting will have a unique opportunity to put on a show in front of his fellow countrymen while also making his Bellator MMA debut on Juli 16. “Gip” began his career under the direction of a local promotion in 2010, emerging victorious with a first round rear-naked choke submission over Mike Taylor.
