CARLTON, MN (Avril 8, 2016) – Unbeaten knockout artist Murat “Fer” Gassiev (22-0, 16 KOs) prend percutant Jordan Shimmell (20-1, 16 KOs) in a 12-round cruiserweight world title eliminator that headlines Premier Champions de boxe (PBC) MARDIS TOE-to-toe sur FS1 et Champions de boxe sur Fox Deportes mardi, Mai 17 from Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, MN.

“I have seen Jordan Shimmell in the ring and I feel like this is a good fight for me,” said Gassiev. “I’m looking forward to getting back in the ring after the mistake I made last fight. I’m going to be real sharp on May 17 and I will not disappoint.”
“I’m excited to get back in the ring and fight in another televised bout,” said Shimmell. “I know I’m in there with a tough, adversaire fort, but with my skills and ability it shouldn’t be a problem. As long as I fight smart and do the things I’ve been training to do, I will come out with the win.”
“This is a big opportunity for me in a competitive televised bout,” said Nofire. “This is a chance for me to move past being a regional fighter. I’m preparing not just to win but to look spectacular. My opponent has done well enough as a pro but he’s never been able to take the next step. Formation va très bien. I’m ready to ramp it up for the final six week push to fight time.”

A fast-rising 22-year-old contender, Gassiev is undefeated since turning pro in 2011 and has delivered three straight stoppage victories since making his stateside debut in January 2015. Plus récemment,, he earned a no contest in a December fight with fellow unbeaten Isiah Thomas after Thomas was ruled unable to continue due to a blow from Gassiev deemed after the bell. WASHINGTON, D.C. (Avril 2, 2016) – Quatre-division champion du monde Adrien “Le Problème” Broner didn’t have much of a problem beating and stopping Ashley “Le Trésor” Theophane at 1:10 in the ninth round dans l'événement principal de ce soir Premier Champions de boxe (PBC) sur Spike event in front of a sold out crowd of 8,172 à the DC Armory in Washington, D.C.

Broner came out in the early rounds showing his speed and versatility, only to be stymied by a game Theophane who showed his own array of boxing skills. Before long, Broner’s ring prowess proved to be too much for Theophane, as he landed power shots at will and began dominating. As Broner wore his opponent down it became easier for him to overpower Theophane and finally stop him in the ninth round.
“When people fight me, they come with their ‘A’ jeu, and he came with his ‘A’ jeu. But even his ‘A’ game wasn’t enough ce soir.
“As you know, I’ve been going through a lot and for me to come in here and bottle everything up and do what I did, I want to give myself a pat on the back.”
Theophane was disappointed and didn’t agree with the stoppage.
“I thought the stoppage was premature because I thought I was in the fight. Me and Broner were going at it. It looked like he was starting to get tired because he started to move around and wasn’t able to stay there with me as much.
“I thought the fight was back and forth and I think the next four rounds would have been the same. No way should the fight have gotten stopped. It’s a shame the referee did that. I was telling the referee, ‘I’m okay, I’m okay.’ Then he waived it off. I don’t know what he was thinking.”
Broner and Mayweather, who promotes Theophane, have been engaged in a war of words throughout the promotion. Broner challenged the 11-time world champion immediately following his victory.

Mendez got up from the knocked down but was unable to continue, forcing the referee to stop the contest.
“My performance was okay. I could have done better, mais je suis heureux. I got touched more than I expected. Once I settled down, I knew I was going to catch him. I had to stay patient.
“Two boxers makes for a boring fight. I wanted to go in there and brawl, but be smart. I knew when I stepped on the gas I would put him to bed and that’s what I did. He was definitely the toughest opponent I have faced in a shorter fight. He is a former champ and he came in ready.
“This was a huge opportunity for me and I’m just happy I got the knockout. For what it’s worth, Je me sens bien…at least physically I do. I’m pretty disappointed because of the way things turned out, but boxing is a difficult sport.
“I don’t have any excuses. I’m glad that I feel fine physically, that’s the most important thing right now. Robert Easter is a good fighter, he did really well and I wish him the best in his career.”

Davis continued his assault in the fifth when he landed a straight left hand to send Avila to the canvas. In the sixth and final round Davis came out of his corner and immediately jumped on his opponent causing the referee to halt the action.
“I knew he was a strong opponent. He kept bouncing back and I actually thought he was going to get up at the end too. He is very experienced and I thank him for taking the fight. He brought out the best in me.
“There is always room to get better and better, but this is another step toward my dream. I’m happy with my performance and it is even more special to have done it where I made my pro debut, so close to home.
“I’m happy I could get this victory for my team, Floyd Mayweather and everyone that supports me.”
“We prepared really well and think we did well,” said Avila “The cut came from a head-butt which complicated the situation for me as it didn’t let me see properly from that point forward. But it is what it is -he won. He’s good, and he hits hard.
“I appreciate everyone who was supporting me and my team. This is not the end of my career. I’m young and this is the type of sport where you just have to bounce back. We’re going to move on with our head up. There’s no other choice.”

A tall featherweight at more than six feet, the 20-year-old Barrios picked up seven victories in a jam-packed 2015 in which he stopped five opponents inside the distance, including an uppercut left hook combo that ended the night of Manuel Vides in December. The San Antonio-native turned pro in 2013 and is on the fast track towards a world title shot as he makes his 2016 début.
A winner of six-straight fights, Giacon is coming off of a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Steve Jamoye in October 2015 that put him in the top contender status in the division. A tall featherweight at more than six feet, the 20-year-old Barrios picked up seven victories in a jam-packed 2015 in which he stopped five opponents inside the distance, including an uppercut left hook combo that ended the night of Manuel Vides in December. The San Antonio-native turned pro in 2013 and is on the fast track towards a world title shot as he makes his 2016 début.
A winner of six-straight fights, Giacon is coming off of a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Steve Jamoye in October 2015 that put him in the top contender status in the division. “Nous sommes impatients de mettre sur une autre grande performance. J'ai eu certains de mes meilleures performances chez Barclays et cela va être une autre.
“Je suis de plus en plus excité que nous aurons à combattre la nuit. Je suis vraiment impatient de Avril 16.
“Ce gamin ne serait pas ici s'il n'a pas été un bon combattant. Il y a beaucoup de pression sur lui. Il est une tâche très difficile d'aller de la perspective de prétendante. Il est difficile de faire ce saut. Vous devez être prudent de prendre de grands sauts. Je crois que cela est un énorme bond.

“Vous ne pouvez pas aller là-bas en pensant que ce que vous avez fait dans les amateurs fait de vous un grand pro. Ce sont deux jeux totalement différents. Je suis allée là-bas avec beaucoup de bons gars d'un jeune âge.”

“Je suis heureux de se battre au Barclays Center sur un grand spectacle. Je suis prêt à me battre et j'espère que Marcus Browne est trop.
“J'ai travaillé avec Keith Thurman avant et obtenu dans le ring avec lui depuis que nous avons à la fois le train dans St. Pétersbourg, Floride. Il est vrai bon travail. Il est un grand combattant.

“Tout le monde a de mauvaises nuits. Le combat Porter était juste un de mes mauvaises nuits. Mais nous sommes sur la bonne voie, nous sommes de retour d'être un champion du monde et je vais rester champion après Avril 1. Ça va être un spectacle fantastique.
“Floyd sait que je peux battre son chasseur. A la fin de la journée,, il fait ce qui est le mieux pour son combat et que ça lui obtenir un titre tiré. La boxe est toujours un coup de poing loin d'une victoire. Tout le monde a une chance de gagner, mais je sais que je vais être victorieux. Nous allons mettre sur un grand spectacle.

“2011 était un diable d'un an. La répétition est à venir sur Avril 30 parce que je veux un autre championnat du monde. Berto est un formidable guerrier; Je lui donnerai que. Je serai prêt et je sais qu'il sera trop.”
