The Charlo twins at the top of a boxing card always brings excitement and entertainment,” sê Tom Brown, President van TGB Promotions. “In recent memory there haven’t been any twin world champion boxers to have the ring presence of the Charlos. Jermall will be tested by the slick southpaw skills of Willie Monroe, Jr. and Jermell will face a tough challenge from Tony Harrison, who also has his eye on winning a world championship. Heavyweight Dominic Breazeale is a throw-back battler who is never out of any fight, but he’ll have his hands full against Carlos Negron, who has an Olympic pedigree. It’s going to be a special night for those at Barclays Center and those tuning into the primetime broadcast on FOX and FOX Deportes.

FOX Sports is excited to be kicking off this new deal with the PBC on Saturday, Desember 22 with these exceptional fights,” said Mark Silverman, President, National Networks, Fox Sports. “Over the next four years, we’re looking forward to highlighting the PBC’s stellar lineup of boxers and telling their amazing stories.

It’s fitting for Barclays Center to close out its strong year of BROOKLYN BOXING programming with a major fight night televised in primetime on FOX,” gesê Brett Yormark, CEO of BSE Global. “As a twin myself, I understand how special it is to achieve career milestones alongside your brother, and I am looking forward to seeing Jermell and Jermall bring their unique brand of excitement to boxing fans in Brooklyn. With the inclusion of a top heavyweight bout in Breazeale vs. Negron, the card will deliver on the BROOKLYN BOXING guarantee of competitive matchups, met 50/50 fights and the sport’s best personalities.

This will be the third fight for each Charlo twin at Barclays Center, as they enter December 22 a combined 4-0 with four knockouts at the venue.

The 28-year-old Jermall Charlo (27-0, 21 Uitklophoue) is one-minute older than his identical twin brother and won his first world title a year earlier than Jermell when he scored a devastating third round knockout of Cornelius Bundrage to win the IBF 154-pound title in 2015. Born in Richmond, Texas and growing up in Houston with Jermell, Jermall still trains in Houston with renowned coach Ronnie Shields. He successfully defended his 154-pound title three times, including a devastating knockout of top contender Julian Williams, before moving up in weight to campaign at middleweight.

Jermall proved to be just as dominant at 160 pounds as he was at 154 pounds when he made his middleweight debut by stopping Jorge Sebastian Heiland in the fourth round of their July 2017 einde. Jermall became the interim WBC middleweight champion with a second round knockout victory over Hugo Centeno, Jr. in his last fight on March 3.

I’m very excited and the fire is lit to be back in Brooklyn,” said Jermall Charlo. “It’s great to be headlining a big show with my twin brother in Brooklyn. It’s going to be an exciting night of boxing. Willie Monroe is one of those fighters that will get me to the level I need to for all those great fights. And believe me, we’ll get them. This is a fight that he’s been asking for and it makes it special to know he’s keying in on me. Everybody knows what I come for. Ek gaan om hom te klop. I’m going to be as explosive as I can and close the show. The journey begins now in Brooklyn.

The 31-year-old Willie Monroe, Jr. (23-3. 6 Uitklophoue) has shown the skills to compete at the elite level, but the slick southpaw will face a tough challenge when he goes up against the hard-hitting Charlo. Fighting out of Rochester, N.Y., Monroe will be fighting for the second time in his career at Barclays Center after he scored a unanimous decision over Carlos Galvan on March 3. He followed that up by beating Javier Francisco Maciel by unanimous decision on Aug. 24 and has faced top middleweights Gennady Golovkin and Billy Joe Saunders throughout his career.

I’ve been in this position before and it won’t faze me on December 22,said Monroe. “This is my third shot at a title, I’m the third Willie Monroe from my family in the line, and having already fought twice for the title, I know that the third time is going to be the charm. There’s a job to be done and nothing about it will be easy. Jermall Charlo is right up there with my past opponents Gennady Golovkin and Billy Joe Saunders, so it’s another tough outing. But it’s definitely a challenge that I’m up for and a challenge that I think I can conquer.

Jermell Charlo (31-0, 15 Uitklophoue) joined his brother as a 154-pound world champion when he scored an eighth-round knockout over John Jackson in 2016 on the same night his brother defended his own 154-pound title. The 28-year-old had previously had previously picked up wins over Vanes Martirosyan, Joachim Alcine and Gabriel Rosado before securing the world title opportunity. The world title fight against Jackson was also Jermell’s first fight training in Dallas with Derrick James, where he will be training for this fight.

Since earning the title, Jermell has successfully defended three times, He delivered sensational highlights-reel knockouts of Charles Hatley and Erickson Lubin in 2017 before putting Austin Trout on the canvas three times in June on his way to a decision victory. This fight represents Charlo’s opportunity to tighten his grip on the 154-pound division.

This is a super fight for me, bigger than any fight, because I get to be on a big show with my brother and we get to showcase our talents together,” said Jermell Charlo. “On December 22, there’s nothing on after us. After we fight the fans go home and we’ll have put on a great show. I’m working with my trainer Derrick James and we’re getting ready to be built up and not just for Tony Harrison. We’re trying to unify. We’re coming for everybody in the division. I’m super stoked to be with my brother and opening this first show on the new deal between PBC and FOX.

The 28-year-old Harrison (27-2, 21 Uitklophoue) is a top contender in the 154-pound division who looks to make the most of his second shot a world title. Veg uit Detroit, Harrison has strung together three straight victories since losing to unified 154-pound champion Jarrett Hurd in 2017 op FOX. Harrison’s most recent performance saw him pick up a decision victory over former world champion Ishe Smith in Smith’s hometown of Las Vegas. Harrison owns knockout victories over Sergei Rabchenko and Fernando Guerrero and hopes to emerge with a world title in his toughest test since facing Hurd.

Based on my last performance against Ishe Smith, I feel like I’ve earned this opportunity,” Said Harrison. “Jermell Charlo is a terrific fighter. I like his attitude toward the sport and his skills in the ring, and I expect to face him at his best. But that just gets my competitive juices flowing. It’s going to be skill-for-skill, and there will be a lot of back-and-forth rounds from round one on. It’s going come down to who is best at sticking to their game plan. It’s hard to get opportunities in this division so I’m going to go in there and leave it in the ring and make it an exciting fight.

'N Lid van die 2012 U.S. Olympic team at the London games, BREAZEALE (19-1, 17 Uitklophoue) has fought his way into the mandatory contender’s slot in the WBC rankings with impressive knockout victories in his last two fights. After losing a heavyweight title fight against Anthony Joshua in 2016, the 33-year-old knocked out then unbeaten Izu Ugonoh in a February 2017 war before stopping former title challenger Eric Molina in November that year. The Glendale, California-native also owns victories over Amir Mansour, Fred Kassi and Yasmany Consuegra.

This will my first time back at the Barclays Center in the 13 months since I beat Eric Molina and I’m excited to show the fans that I’m here to stay,” Said Breazeale. “Carlos Negron is a big guy and a fellow Olympian. I want to show that I don’t have any ring rust. I’ve been out of the ring, but I’ve lived in the gym and I can box, press the pedal to the metal and get the knockout when the opportunity arises.

Fighting out of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Negron (20-1, 16 Uitklophoue) het sy eerste gewen 13 pro fights after turning pro in 2009 following his stint at the 2008 Olimpiese Spele. The 30-year-old has won seven straight fights by knockout including a December 2016 stoppage of then unbeaten Cristian Galvez and a dominant performance in June 2017 where he dropped Derric Rossy twice on his way to the TKO victory.

I’m thankful to have this opportunity and for my team that always been there for me,” said Negron. “Anyone who knows this sport knows how hard a task it is and I’m working hard every day to win this fight. When I was offered Breazeale I said yes right away. I want to be the first born and raised Puerto Rican heavyweight champion and on December 22 I will fight with honor, heart and pride. I’m going to announce a new heavyweight in the mix.

Ontario, Kalifornië. (Sewe. 30) – In a marathon night of fights, Southern California fans were treated to performances in a variety of weight classes headlined by Brandon Figueroa (17-0-0, 12 Uitklophoue) van Weslaco, TX against Columbian Oscar Escandon (25-5-0, 17 Uitklophoue) in an action-packed 10-round super bantamweight bout that ended with a knockout by the young prospect Figueroa in the final round live on FS1 and FOX Deportes from Citizens Business Bank Arena.

Both Figueroa and Escandon picked up the pace early as they went toe-to-toe battling in an entertaining fight from the first bell. Figueroa, who typically fights at a distance, wanted to make a statement that he isn’t afraid to fight on the inside. An accidental head butt caused a large cut over the left eye of Figueroa, as blood poured the remainder of the fight. The combatants continued to throw high volumes of punches throughout the bout, but Figueroa remained more accurate and active as Escandon did his best to stay strong. In die tiende en laaste ronde, Figueroa sealed the win with a powerful combination that ended in a right upper cut to Escandon’s chin, sending him to the canvas rendering him unable to stand at minute 1:42.

Escandon is tough. He is short and it was hard to get to the body,” Said Figueroa. “I can fight both inside and outside, but his size did matter. I had to get in there and he wasn’t backing up. I was ready for this fight. Opportunities like this don’t come often so I had to take it and run with it. I have been training all summer and I am ready to take a few days off and get right back to it.

I knew Figueroa was good, but I was surprised at how tough he was,” said Escandon. “Everyone can get caught with a punch. I wasn’t tired. I just got caught. I am okay. I am going to keep going.

The co-main event saw British Silver Medalist Joe Joyce (6-0, 6 Uitklophoue) make his U.S. debut in a heavyweight fight domnation against Iago Kiladze (26-4-0, 18 Uitklophoue) Georgië. Thirty seconds into the second round, Joyce sent Kiladze through the ropes with a flurry of right hands. Kiladze recovered and fought back, surviving the remainder of the round. He entered the third throwing everything he could, but Joyce hit him with a hard hook to the body forcing him to the canvas again. The fight ended in the with 41 seconds to go in the fifth round as Joyce landed a hard left hook to Kiladze’s body knocking him out.

It is great to be here,” said Joyce. “I started training in the United States because it was the best way to start my career here,” said Joyce. “It is great to have my sixth win here and I look forward to getting in the ring again soon. I think I made a great impression here tonight and I just want to continue that streak.

Also featured on the card was fast-rising star Joey Spencer (5-0, 5 Uitklophoue) of Union City, Kalifornië. Against Cory Macon (0-3-0) of Durham, NC in a four-round middleweight bout. The 18-year-old Spencer, with dreams to become the youngest American with a world title, went to work immediately, going to the body of Macon. He continued to attack the body, but with a hard left hook, he sent Macon to the canvas, ending the fight just inside round number one at minute 2:36.

I stay active and stay in the gym. It keeps me focused and ready,” said Spencer. “My goal is to become a world champion by age 20. Fans need to keep an eye on me and my career because I am here to stay.

Rene Tellez Giron (7-0-0, 6 Uitklophoue) faced Nick Jones (7-1-0, 5 Uitklophoue) of Okmulgee, OK in a six-round heavyweight fight that didn’t even last one round. With a hard right hand, Ajagba sent Jones to the canvas with a devastating knockout in 2:25 van die eerste.

Now we know why my last opponent walked out of the ring. He was afraid that was going to happen to him,” said Ajagba. “I watched tape of Jones and I knew he was slow. I was ready to attack the minute I got into the ring. I want anyone that my management will put in front of me. Ek is gereed. I prepared for six rounds and I can’t wait to get back in the ring.

In a televised swing bout, young prospect Jose Balderas (5-0-0) of Santa Maria, Kalifornië. was tested by Mexican Ivan Martino (3-3-0, 3 Uitklophoue) in 'n kapokgewig, but was able to get his shots off, connected with several left hooks to Martino’s body.

He is a strong guy and he kept coming, but we were ready for it,” said Balderas. “I think I got the rounds he needed. I have been improving since my first fight. I am going to keep learning and keep growing.

Stephen Fulton (14-0-0, 6 Uitklophoue) of the fighting city of Philadelphia faced German Meraz (61-50-2, 38 Uitklophoue) of Mexico opened the telecast in a scheduled eight-round featherweight fight. Fulton, who took this fight with 72 uur’ kennisgewing, used his jab throughout the and dominated every round. In the first minute of the eighth and final round, Fulton knocked Meraz down, setting up the win. In die einde, the judges ruled the bout a unanimous decision.

I wasn’t worried about taking the fight on such short notice,” said Fulton. “I knew I was going to dominate. I might have prepared for someone else, but that didn’t matter. I have the experience to be able to adjust. He could have had 100 fights or five fights and I would have bene ready. I want Brandon Figueroa next.

Here is what the participants at the media event had to say Thursday from Fortune Gym in Los Angeles:

VICTOR ORTIZ

“John Molina Jr. is a warrior, and it’s going to be two warriors on fight night. This is another chance for me to do what I love to do and what I have the most passion in the world for.

You have to keep that fire burning inside you to keep competing in this sport. You have to go in there 100 myl per uur. This is a sport and I’m going in there to destroy him, then we can go have lunch after.

I have lots of respect for Molina, but this is still boxing. He’s in my way right now and I’m going to knock him out of the way.

I have one big task ahead of me and that’s John Molina Jr. op September 30. I can’t focus on anyone else out there, as much as I may want to fight them. I have a tremendous challenge in front of me.

I don’t feel that I have the size advantage. Molina is a big guy. I’m not too small or anything, but at the end of the day we’re going to have a good dance in that ring and there’s going to be no excuses.

I’m working hard each day in camp to be ready for September 30. Whatever the coaches have been asking of me, I’ve been there and delivered.

JOHN MOLINA JR.

I know that Victor is going to be himself in there. We’re both veterans who have been been down this road before. He’s coming to win and that’s what excites me. I think everyone watching is going to get a treat on September 30.

Victor is probably the physically bigger guy because he’s been at welterweight longer, but I think I carry the weight well. I’ve always been big for my weight classes so I think it will fit perfectly.

Training is what I do. I’ve been down this road before so it’s really just built into my system to get in the gym and work hard. Everything has been going great. We’re on track with some hard work ahead to be ready for fight night.

Victor deserves my undivided attention and he has it. Especially for this fight. He is a big strong guy who hits hard for 147-pounds. I never pick the easy guy when I move up in weight. My first fight at 140 was Lucas Matthysse and I expect fireworks for this fight as well.

My ability to bounce back and deal with adversity in the ring is all about mindset. When I’m in that ring, I’m just 100 percent focused on doing what I have to do for my family. I’ve been blessed by boxing. I put it all on the line.

I know I have to go through the fire every time I get into the ring. If I didn’t think that I’d be fooling myself. You can say what you want about Victor, but he’s always been in exciting fights and I’m going to have to deal with that style on September 30.

Dit is 'n goeie toets vir my en 'n goeie teenstander wat my sal laat gebruik waaraan ons gewerk het in opleiding.

I envision myself going out there and breaking down my opponent little by little. I think we’ve kept the same kind of training going, but me and my brother are much more comfortable as pros now, so it’s gotten even more productive.

I’m excited to keep working and getting my rounds in, while also having fun with this job I’m blessed to have. I’m not planning to let this fight go the distance and I’m going to take the opportunity to end it when I see it.

Me and my brother both believe that the fight is really won in the gym. By the time you get up into the ring, it’s just sparring really. That helps me stay relaxed and focused on the work I’m there to do and not worried about anything going on around me.

JOSE BALDERAS

I feel great going into this fight. I’ve learned a lot from each time I’ve gotten into the ring and I’m going to take that into this next fight to put on my best performance.

My goal is always to go out there and be great. I’m ready to break my opponent down and do what I have to do.

It’s exciting to be on the same card as my brother again. We definitely are still invested in each other’s fights. Hopefully we can each take care of business and be able to be there cheering each other on.

RICHARD SCHAEFER, Voorsitter & Uitvoerende hoof van Ringstar Sport

It’s refreshing to see the level of respect from Ortiz and Molina. This is an extremely evenly matched fight with no clear favorite. These are fighters who can create a memorable night. It’s the perfect example of how styles make fights.

Both of these men know how to entertain and are must-see television every time they step into the ring. Now they’re fighting each other and it’s got war written all over it. The fans watching on Sunday night and here in Ontario are in for a treat.

I’m excited to see the continued development of Karlos Balderas on September 30. He is quickly making an impression throughout the sport and I believe he’s going to prove that he can live up to the promise in the not too distant future. Sunday will be another step toward what he can really accomplish.

BROOKLYN (September 9, 2018) – Shawn Porter het Saterdagaand WBC se weltergewigkampioen geword toe hy 'n noue eenparige beslissende oorwinning behaal het Danny Garcia in 'n heftige geveg regstreeks op SHOWTIME vanaf Barclays Centre, die huis van BROOKLYN boks ™, in 'n byeenkoms aangebied deur Premier Boxing Champions.

Al drie beoordelaars het die stryd in die guns van Porter behaal (116-112, 115-113, 115-113) in 'n elektrifiserende geveg voor 13,058 aanhangers by die 30ste professionele boksgeleentheid by Barclays Centre. (Video-hoogtepunte hier: https://s.sho.com/2MWXfRj)

We won today and I think I showed everybody my talent,” het Ugas gesê, who improves to 8-0 by 147 pond. “I’m happy with my performance. I showed enough, now I’m ready for a championship fight.

I want the winner of Danny Garcia vs. Shawn Porter. I’m here to compete with the top-level guys in the sport.

I just didn’t have the right distance tonight,” said Barrionuevo, who was making his U.S. debuut. “It was hard to catch him and attack. He countered well and attacked the body. I showed my heart but he was the better fighter tonight.

In die uitsending opener, heavyweight slugger Adam Kownacki (18-0, 14 Uitklophoue) remained undefeated by scoring a unanimous decision victory over former world champion Charles Martin (25-2-1, 23 Uitklophoue) in a sensational action-packed fight. Each of the judges scored the fight 96-94 in favor of the hometown favorite Kownacki, wat geveg het voor 'n lawaaierige kontingent Poolse aanhangers.

Ek het 'n groot span agter my.

“Dit beteken alles vir my,” Said Serrano.

Soos ek gesê het, I’m not leaving Brooklyn without this belt. Shawn Porter will be victorious tomorrow night.”

Yordenis Ugas:

“I’m a tough fighter and I like to fight the best. They say he’s a big puncher and that’s what I like. I like guys that can stand in there and fight. Hopefully it’s going to be a war and a great fight for the fans.”

Cesar Miguel Barrionuevo:

Adam Kownacki:

'Ek is van Brooklyn, een, so ek is niks bang nie. Hy het geen hart nie, so ek gaan vroeg daar inkom en hom seermaak. '

Charles Martin:

'Hy het dieselfde gesê [dinge], maar ons sien more. Dit is alles. Ek kom. Dit is al wat ek moet sê. '

Amanda Serrano:

"Ek voel goed. Ek hou van baklei by Barclays en weereens gaan ek geskiedenis maak. Ek het al my titels gewen deur uitklophou, so ek wil dit weer doen. Brooklyn is my tweede huis - my huis weg van die huis. Ek is opgewonde om dit in Brooklyn by Barclays Center te doen en hopelik is daar nog iets wat kom. ”
