“It’s a pleasure to be back here in Brooklyn. Barclays Center is very close to my heart. I’ve been here so many times and I have a real connection to this arena. I’ve had some of my most memorable moments in the ring here.

“It’s always great to get a mandatory out of the way. They’re like flies buzzing in my ear. I just want to get them out of the way so I can do great things for the heavyweight division. I want one champion, one face, one name, but you need a lot of cooperation to make that happen.

“I want to prove to the world that I’m the best. That’s what I believe in my heart. Until someone proves me wrong, I will continue to believe that. Breazeale is the next man in line. I can’t wait for this one.

“I’m just going to show everyone on May 18. The way I feel right now, the fight could be this week. The champion must always be ready for whatever a challenger can bring.

“I hope he’s training his hardest. I’m glad he has Virgil Hunter on his side to show him something new. Every man I’ve faced; they’ve landed on the canvas. I’m going to continue to do that on May 18.

“No man who gets in the ring will be able to defeat Deontay Wilder. I hold the keys to the heavyweight division. No fighter is doing what I’m doing. I’m trying to give the fans something they’ve never seen before.

“I’m super excited for this. I’ve been waiting over a year and a half for a shot at this title. I’ve got three knockouts here at Barclays Center and I can’t wait for another.

“I’m a great fighter but there are always things to be learned. I’ve learned a lot already with Virgil Hunter. I bring something that everyone wants to see from heavyweights, and that’s trouble. I’m going to bring pressure and action.

ARLINGTON, TX. (Mars 17, 2019) – Errol Spence Jr. a conservé son championnat du monde IBF poids welter dans sa ville natale devant 47,525 fans avec une décision unanime sur le champion du monde en quatre divisions Mikey Garcia lors de l'événement principal des premiers champions de boxe Premier sur l'événement FOX Sports Pay-Per-View samedi soir de AT&T Stadium à Arlington, Texas.

“La motivation qui se bat devant la foule de ma ville m'a fait me sentir bien,” dit Spence. “Ces gens m'ont soutenu depuis le premier jour et je voulais faire une bonne performance pour tous.”

“J'apprécie vraiment l'amour et le soutien des fans ce soir,” a déclaré Garcia. “C’est une super soirée et tout le mérite d’Errol, c'est un grand champion. Il est la vérité. Il a très bien exécuté son plan de match.”

Le combat a commencé technique, avec Spence pompant un jab cohérent et tentant de couper l'anneau pendant que Garcia cherchait patiemment une chance de contrer. Garcia a eu un certain succès au début en lançant des contre-crochets gauches sur le jab de Spence, mais n'a jamais réussi à entrer dans un rythme contre le champion plus occupé.

“Il est venu ici avec un bon plan de match et a gardé la distance en sa faveur,” a déclaré Garcia. “Je ne pouvais pas mettre mon rythme en marche et il a fait ce qu’il avait à faire. J'ai essayé de faire des ajustements et il a continué à exécuter.”

Alors que Garcia a montré son courage en parcourant la distance, Spence était tout simplement trop efficace, avec un juge qui marque même une ronde 11 10-8 pour Spence. Spence a jeté un sommet en carrière 1082 coups de poing et atterri Garcia par un stupéfiant 345 à 75 marge.

Après le combat, Spence a déclaré qu'il voulait combattre la légende de la boxe et le tenant du titre des poids welters Manny Pacquiao suivant, qui est entré sur le ring après le combat.

“Notre camp d'entraînement, nous nous entraînons pour un dur 12 lutte ronde. Nous nous préparons à un combat meurtrier. Si je l'assomme tôt, alors c'est un bonus. Nous nous sommes entraînés pour la distance car nous savons que tout peut arriver dans un combat.

“Je suis toujours calme, c'est juste mon comportement. Je pourrais parler à Mikey Garcia dans le vestiaire avant le combat puis sortir et lui faire tomber la tête. Je suis toujours en mouvement. Je suis naturellement comme ça. Je suis prêt à partir depuis huit semaines. Je suis fatigué de le voir et je suis juste prêt pour la nuit de combat.

“Je ne peux pas m'inquiéter de ce que Mikey voit en moi. Je laisse mon entraîneur s'en soucier. Tout le monde pense voir quelque chose qui regarde à l'extérieur, mais c’est beaucoup plus difficile une fois sur le ring.

“Cette victoire fait de moi le numéro un livre pour livre. Mikey a un excellent dossier et une grande base de fans et j'ai l'impression que gagner ce combat me transforme en star. NATIONAL HARBOR (Mars 11, 2019) – Exciting super welterweight contender Jamontay Clark joins the Peterson brothers on a Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 and FOX Deportes show on Sunday, Mars 24 from MGM National Harbor in Maryland.

Clarkwill take on Vernon Brown of Chicago in a 10-round super welterweight match that will open the broadcast at 8 p.m. ET / 5 h, heure. ET. CARSON, CALIFORNIE. (Mars 9, 2019) – Champion du monde poids welters WBC Shawn Porter retained his title with a close split-decision victory over Yordenis UgasSaturday night in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions on FOX and FOX Deportes from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Californie.

“The crowd was expecting a big brawl, but that’s not the way this fight needed to go tonight,” M. Porter. “The style that we used left the fight close. As the clock ticks, you have to do what’s working. Tonight the foot movement was working and it made Ugas have to reset.”

“I showed tonight that I belong with the elite fighters at welterweight,” said Ugas. “All I can say is that I’m ready to fight any of the top names in the division. I’ll be back.”

The early rounds were defined by Porter using his jab to try to cut down the distance, while Ugas worked power shots and jabs to the body. Porter had some success on the inside landing on Ugas’ chin during flurries, but was unable to hurt the Cuban.

En un tour de cinq, both men stood in the center of the ring for an extended period of time throwing power punches that had the crowd on their feet. Ugas began to work cleaner on his counterpunching as the fight went on, and Porter focused on movement while trying to snap his jab.

“I was on my toes all night,” M. Porter. “I was very focused the entire fight and just listening to my corner. We wanted to out box him and eventually turn it on and press him. But my dad did not think that was the smartest way to win the fight. We fought this way for 12 rounds and no one has ever seen that from me before.”

Porter’s activity clashed with the sharp countering and body punching from Ugas. Selon Compubox, Porter was more active on a per round basis, lancement 42.9 punches per round to 37.4 from Ugas. Ugas held the advantage in body punches landed at 57 à 34, while the two fighters each landed 79 coups de puissance.

In round 10 Porter began to bleed from his right eye due to an accidental head butt, but late in round 11 he landed one of his most significant punches of the fight when he backed Ugas up with a left hook to the head. Après 12 tours, les juges’ scorecards reflected that there were numerous close and hard to score rounds as all three judges agreed on only the fourth and ninth rounds, which went to Ugas and Porter respectively.

Additional action, saw a back-and-forth welterweight contest in which Abel Ramos(24-3-2, 18 KOs) got a unanimous decision over Francisco Santana (25-7-1, 12 KOs) après 10 tours.

Santana struck first, landing a clean left hook that put Ramos on the canvas late in the second round. Santana had been stalking Ramos around the ring for much of the early action, before catching him in a neutral corner for the knockdown.

“He caught me on a flash knockdown in the second round,” said Ramos. “I didn’t see the punch coming and he caught me a little bit off balance. As soon as I got up, I was good.”

Both fighters were effective in mixing up their attacks, although it was Ramos that held a 138 à 46 advantage in jabs landed, par CompuBox. Santana’s power punching caused Ramos to begin bleeding from his nose in round six, but in round seven Ramos connected with a flurry of shots that appeared to have Santana temporarily out on his feet.

Santana was able to survive the round, but was then out landed 56 à 26 over rounds eight and nine. Both fighters pushed forward in a 10e and final round that saw them land a combined 68 punches out of 224 jeté. Despite the early knockdown, Ramos was awarded the decision on all three scorecards by tallies of 98-92, 97-92 et 95-94.

“I was very surprised by the scorecards,” said Santana. “I thought I did enough to win. It was very competitive but I was landing more significant punches. I knew he was a warrior who would come back to fight after the knockdown. I don’t know what else to do at this point, but I’ll always keep my head held high.”

In the opening bout on FOX and FOX Deportes, rising heavyweight prospect bande dessinée Ajagba (9-0, 8 KOs) remained unbeaten and earned the best win of his young pro career by stopping veteran Amir Mansour (23-4-1, 16 KOs) after two rounds.

Ajagba was dominant from the outset, knocking Mansour down twice in the first round. He first landed a clean straight right to Mansour that caused him to tumble to the ground. He got to his feet but was then put onto the ground by a straight left from Ajagba.

“I’ve never fought a southpaw in the pros before,” Ledit Ajagba. “Ronnie Shields has taught me a lot and given me the plan on how to fight a southpaw and how to use my right hand against them.”

Mansour made it to the second round but continued to take a beating as Ajagba landed flush to the head consistently. After the round, referee Thomas Taylor took a long look at Mansour in his corner decided to call the fight after two rounds.

“I want to be the best heavyweight in the world,” Ledit Ajagba. “That’s my dream. I’m going to go home and work hard and prepare for the next fight.”

Garcia (34-2, 20 KOs) has fought and defeated many of the most formidable opponents at 140 and 147-pounds spanning two generations-Erik Morales, Zab Judah, Kendall Holt, Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Paulie Malignaggi and Lamont Peterson among them. “This is a huge fight for me and definitely one of the most important in my career,” said Granados. “I’m looking to dominate, look impressive and control the fight. I’ve fought in Southern California before and I’m looking to take advantage of the great Mexican crowd. This is Mexico versus Puerto Rico and Chicago vs. Philadelphie. It’s territorial on a lot of levels and you can expect us to leave it all in the ring.”

Fighting out of Imperial, Californie, Ruiz (31-1, 20 KOs) was a two-time Mexican national champion at super heavyweight as an amateur, before embarking on a pro career that saw him win his first 29 combats. The 29-year-old lost a close majority decision against Joseph Parker in their 2016 world title fight and rebounded with victories over Kevin Johnson and Devin Vargas last year.

The 36-year-old Dimitrenko (41-4, 26 KOs) is a longtime heavyweight contender who has challenged top fighters throughout his career. Born in Russia but fighting out of Hamburg, Allemagne, he most recently lost to Bryant Jennings in a back and forth fight in August and owns wins over Derric Rossy, Adrian Granat and Miljan Rovcanin.

The 22-year-old Figueroa (18-0, 13 KOs) most recently delivered a dominant performance in knocking out Moises Flores in the third-round of their January fight on FS1. représentant Weslaco, Texas, the younger brother of former world champion Omar has a five-fight knockout streak that he brings into the ring on April 20.

A former interim champion and title challenger at bantamweight, Parejo (22-3-1, 11 KOs) will look to make his mark at 122-pounds when he battles Figueroa on April 20. The 32-year-old from Venezuela lost a bantamweight world title fight to Ryan Burnett last March, but rebounded to most recently defeat Benjamin Mendoza in February. He won an interim title by stopping Luis Hinojosa in 2014 before losing a split-decision the following year to former champion Zhanat Zhakiyanov.

I want to do that so great guys can look at me and think about if they want to fight me or not. That’s why a lot of guys don’t want to fight me.”

Mikey GARCIA

“A lot of people underestimate the power when they face me. They don’t see my physical size as a threat. But you know they feel the power once we’re in the ring and definitely change their minds.

The 35-year-old Guerrero (34-6-1, 19 KOs) has a rich career filled with intriguing matches against some of the best boxers of this generation – Floyd Mayweather, Jr., Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia – and has won titles at featherweight, des super-plumes, lightweight and welterweight. The Panamanian De Gracia (24-1-1, 20 KOs) will be fighting for the first time in the United States on March 2. The 25-year-old has knocked out seven of his last eight opponents and scored four straight stoppage victories since his one loss to Jorge Sanchez in 2017. MINNEAPOLIS (Février 24, 2019) – Anthony Dirrell (33-1-1, 24 KOs) vaincuAvni Yildirim (21-2, 12 KOs)by technical split decision (96-94 X 2 for Dirrell, 98-92 for Yildirim) for the vacant WBC Super Middleweight World Championship in the main event of Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 and FOX Deportes from the Armory in Minneapolis. Referee Mark Nelson stopped the contest in the tenth round due to an accidental clash of heads and a cut over Dirrell’s left eye with the decision going to the scorecards.

“I was upset with the stoppage because I wanted finish the fight like a champion,” Saïd Dirrell. “It feels great getting my WBC belt back. We want to unify against Caleb Plant or any of the champions. I’m just going to go home, take some time, talk to my camp and then we’ll go from there. If the Benavidez fight comes calling then I’ll fight him.

“I thought I was winning this fight by more than what the judges had,” added Dirrell. “I was jabbing him and he was applying some pressure, but that’s just what he does. I won the fight though and that’s all that matters.”

Minneapolis-native Jamal James (25-1, 12 KOs) scored a crowd-pleasing technical knockout win over Janer Gonzalez (19-2-1, 15 KOs). Midway through the sixth stanza, James appeared to drop Gonzalez with a straight overhand right, but referee Gary Miezwa declared it a slippage. Near the end of the sixth round, James landed another knockdown and this time it counted and hurt Gonzalez. At the close of round six, Gonzalez went to his corner and never came out with the fight being declared a sixth-round stoppage as Gonzalez was unable to answer the bell for the seventh round.

“This is the best crowd I’ve ever fought in front of,” a déclaré James. “We packed this place out. Middle of winter, snow all around us and they still came out and showed a lot of support. I can’t even explain the feeling to come out here and stop (Gonzalez). The only question I have is where’s my belt? I’m ranked third in the WBA. Keith Thurman got the belt, Pacquiao got the belt. But in all honesty, whoever gives me that opportunity I’m stepping in there with them.

“He gave me a great fight, but at the end of the day I had too much to offer and he couldn’t get back up,” continued James. “I just kept my range and was able to counter on him. And when he was coming in he was coming in real wild and opening himself up for some big shots that I was able to take advantage of. The first time he went down I thought it was a legitimate knockdown, but the ref was a good ref. I definitely caught him with a good combination and a nasty body shot for the second knockdown. “This training camp we really worked on a lot of body shots,” said Powell. “I feel like body shots are neglected nowadays and body shots pay the bills, break you down real quick.”

In the FS2 swing bout, Austin Dulay (13-1, 10 KOs) scored a very quick first-round knockdown of Yardley Cruz (24-13, 14 KOs) before cruising to a third-round stoppage (:27).

“I just listened to my coaches and they told me to be a dog and come forward,” said Dulay. “I thought I had him stopped with that first knockdown after the opening bell, but I didn’t want to rush into anything because he has a ton of experience.

“I want a rematch with Chris Colbert right away on the April 13 card here at the Armory,” added Dulay. “I got back in camp after that loss, figured out what was wrong, got a nutritionist and moved up to 135 livres. Je me sens mieux que jamais, so I’m definitely ready for that rematch.”

In the opening televised bout on FS2, Justin Pauldo (12-1, 6 KOs) scored a first-round knockdown and stoppage (1:17) contre Federico Malespina (16-11-2, 2 KOs) who was unable to continue.
