The originally scheduled M-1 Challenge 91, Aprill 21 in Saint Petersburg, featured M-1 Challenge featherweight champion Khamzat Dalgiev against American challenger Nate “The Train” Landwehr, has been cancelled. Dalgiev vs. Landwehr will be rescheduled during 2018.

 

 

 

Doskalchuk (8-1-0, M-1: 2-0-0), võitlevad välja Ukraina, won his title belt last September at M-1 Challenge 83, when he used a Guillotine Choke to submit Vadim Malygin teise ringi.

Ashimov (8-2-1, M-1: 3-0-0) earned his Interim title shot this past February by stopping Gadzhimurad Aliev ja Ervani Melonio with punches, vastavalt, in the second and first rounds. The co-feature is a middleweight showdown between veteran Russian fighter Mikhail Zayats (23-8-0, M-1: 13-5-0) and past M-1 Challenge middleweight title challenger Caio “Põrgupoiss” Magalhaes (10-4-0, M-1: 1-1-0), Brasiilia. Zayats has fought in Bellator, Magalhaes in the UFC. Last October, Magalhaes lost his M-1 Challenge middleweight title challenge to champion Artem Frolov by way of a five-round unanimous decision, headlining M-1 Challenge 84.

 

 

 

One other main card fight was announced featuring one of China’s top MMA fighters, Musu “Iron King” Nuertiebieke (12-2-0, M-1: 0-1-0) versus American featherweight Daniel Swain (17-8-1, M-1: 0-0-1).

PETERBURGI, Venemaa (Märts 31, 2018) – M-1 Challenge welterweight champion Aleksei Kunchenko improved his professional MMA record to a perfect 18-0-0, stopping Russian challenger Alexander “Iron Capture” Butenko in the third round of last night’s M-1 Challenge 9- Põhiturniiri, at M-1 Arena in Saint Petersburg, Venemaa.

In a match-up between a pair of undefeated lightweights, Vene Roman Bogatov (5-0-0, M-1; 4-0-0) esitatud Tahir “Tank” Abdullaev (6-1-0, M-1: 0-1-0), Aserbaidžaani, in the second round with an arm triangle choke. The 29-year-old Landwehr (10-2-0, M-1: 2-0-0), who fights out of Clarksville, Tennessee, made his M-1 Global debut last September at M-1 Challenge 83, kui ta lõpetas Mihhail Korobkov on punches in the second round. Since his first fight in Russia, Landwehr has developed into one of M-1 Global’s most popular fighters, largely due to his fan-friendly fighting style, as well as his showmanship. He made his own promo video, talks trash at press conferences, and broke out into an “ass whooping” song after his fight.
“The Train” never takes a step backwards, trading punches with his opponent from the opening bell, which often results in spectacular fights for MMA fans.
Landwehr (üle) is an all-around fighter who can ground or pound
Dalgiev (10-1-0, M-1: 7-1-0), Venemaa, on võitnud 10 fights in a row since he lost his pro debut in 2014. “I did not suffer any injuries,” Buchinger reflected on his loss to Dalgiev. “Physically I felt good, but I was extremely disappointed because my opponent was so lucky to deliver a nice punch. It was just a lucky punch that knocked me out. Everything went as planned up until that moment, when I made a single fatal mistake. He was lucky that night, bit I don’t want to belittle Khamzat’s skills. He’s an excellent fighter and a great person.
“Would I win a rematch? I don’t want to make any predictions but, if we fight for the second time, we will see who is going to be the winner. But I am sure that I am a better fighter than him. Real champions do not care about who they fight, so I will fight any opponent to get my belt back. Everybody knows who the true champion is, nii, as soon as I have an opportunity to win the title, I’ll do it.”
The road back to the top for Buchinger will not be easy. Tema vastane, Krasnikov (14-3-0, M-1: 0-0-0), plans to make a big splash in his first M-1 Global competition, positioning himself for a future M-1 Challenge title shot.
