ORENBURG CITY, Rusko (Květen 28, 2016) – Last night’s M-1 Challenge 66 event had its share of upsets, leading with a main event split decision victory by Rashid Yusopov over defending M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion Viktor Nemkov, in Orenburg City, Rusko.
Bývalý M-1 Challenge lehký přeborník v těžké váze Stephan “T-800” Puetz took a unanimous 3-round decision from andrey Seledtsov v co-funkce.
Russian challenger Yusopov (7-2-0, M-1: 4-1-0) won a hard fought 5-round split decision over defending champion Nemkov (23-6-0, M-1: 14-5-0), bojuje z Ruska prostřednictvím Kazachstánu, who was making his initial title defense.
Nemkov had captured the coveted M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title this past December, taking a 5-round decision from defending champion Puetz, who had won a 5-round split decision April, 2014 against Nemkov for the title. Nemkov is a two-time M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion having defeated Vasily Babich (WSUB3 – arm-lock) for the vacant title that he then lost in his first title defense to Puetz.
The 23-year-old Yusupov was riding a 4-fight win streak going into his fight with Nemkov. A former Russian, European and World Amateur MMA champion, Yusupov is known as a dangerous striker whose signature moves are powerful kicks.
Puetz vs.. Seledtsov was billed as “Terminator” proti. “Spetsnev” and it lived up to its name as Puetz won a unanimous 3-round decision. Puetz, Německo, had successfully defended his M-1 Challenge light heavyweight title twice, after beating Nemkov in their original championship match, proti Luis Fernando Miranda (SUB2 – sytič) Srpen 15, 2014 naM-1 Challenge 50, a Valery Myasnikov (KO/TKO2 – údery) Prosinec 17, 2014 naM-1 Challenge 54. PETERSBURG, Rusko (Květen 17, 2016) – Former M-1 Challenge light heavyweight and middleweight champion Vyacheslav Vasilevsky (28-4-0, M-1: 10-2-0) has stepped up to replace injured Ramadan Emeev proti Alexander “Bouře” Shlemenko (52-9-0, M-1: 3-0-0) in the final of the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Tournament, headlining
M-1 Challenge 68, Červen 16 at Yubileyny Sports Palace in St. Petersburg, Rusko.
Emeev (14-3-0, M-1: 8-1-0) suffered a torn ligament in his elbow during training camp. In a M-1 Challenge Grand Prix Middleweight Tournament semifinals match last February, Vasilevsky lost a majority decision to Shlemenko in the M-1 Challenge 64 Boj noci.
“We were in a very difficult situation after Ramazan Ameev got injured,” M-1 Global prezident Vadim Finkelchtein vysvětleny. “The whole event was in jeopardy. The Grand Prix winner, Shlemenko still gets $50,000. As for Ramazan Ameev, we will put efforts into arranging his fight with Alexander Shlemenko this fall, if Shlemenko is still fighting in Russia. Emeev versus Shlemenko will provide the answer to all of the questions MMA fans still arguing about.”

Also announced is a fight between undefeated Kazakh welterweight prospect Shavkat Rakjmonov and Brazilian veteran Carlos Alexandre “Indio” Hruška.

Emeev (14-3-0, M-1: 8-1-0), fighting out of Russia by way of Dagestan, is the reigning M-1 Challenge middleweight champion, although his title belt will not be at stake against Shlemenko. The 28-year-old Emeev, který byl 2015 M-1 Global Fighter of the Year, is a two-time M-1 Challenge middleweight champion. Nemkov (na obrázku vlevo) is a two-time M-1 Challenge light heavyweight champion having defeated Vasily Babich(WSUB3 – arm-lock) for the vacant title that he then lost in his first title defense to Puetz.
A native of Kazakhstan who fights out of Russia, Nemkov will be making his initial title defense of his second championship belt against Yusopov.

The 23-year-old Yusupov (6-2-0, M-1: 3-1-0), fighting out of Sochi, Rusko, has won four fights in a row to put himself into title contention. A former Russian, European and World Amateur MMA champion, unlike many of his fellow countrymen from the North Caucasus, Yusupov (na obrázku níže) is a dangerous striker whose signature moves are powerful kicks. He is also a top-notch wrestler, evident by his M-1 Challenge victories against Charles Andrade a Martin Zawada.
Puetz (13-2-0, M-1: 4-1-0), fighting out of Munich, Německo, successfully defended his M-1 Challenge title twice, after beating Nemkov in their original championship match, proti Luis Fernando Miranda (SUB2 – sytič) Srpen 15, 2014 na M-1 Challenge 50, a Valery Myasnikov (KO/TKO2 – údery) Prosinec 17, 2014 na M-1 Challenge 54. In a non-title fight this past May, Puetz stopped then M-1 Challenge heavyweight champion Marcin Tybura in the third round due to severely damaged broken nose.
The 28-year-old Seledtsov (5-1-0, M-1: 0-0-0) is a former Spetsnev solider who has a solid boxing, combat samba and MMA background. The powerful Russian is the local White-Rex promotion champion.
