BELÉM, PA. (Agosto 23, 2016) – Invicto Caleb “Mãos doces” Planta(14-0, 10 KOs) dropped and dominated Colombia’s Juan De Angel (18-5-1, 17 KOs) on his way to a unanimous decision victory Tuesday night in the main event of Premier Boxe dos Campeões TOETO-TOE TUESDAYS em FS1 e Boxe dos Campeões on FOX Deportes from Sands Bethlehem Events Center in Bethlehem, Pa.
The Nashville-native was able to keep his perfect record intact and was in control from start to finish of his first 10-round bout. Plant was patient in the early rounds, looking to find the distance against his power-punching opponent.
Plant’s offense began to break through in round three and in round four he caught De Angel lingering in the pocket and dropped him with a left hook. De Angel got to his feet but was never able to get his own offense going and spent much of the night trying to tie up the more aggressive Plant.
In the ninth round, a clash of heads caused a temporary halt in the action and saw Plant emerge with a cut on his head. Plant was able to battle through and and kept his momentum going throughout the remainder of the fight.
Plant was twice as accurate as De Angel and landed 30 percent of his punches compared to 15 percent from De Angel. The judges saw the bout the same and all scored it 100-89 after 10-rounds of super middleweight action.
The co-main event of the night saw a pair of Washington, D.C. welterweights do battle as David Grayton (15-1, 11 KOs) earned a victory over previously unbeaten Kareem Martin (8-1-1, 3 KOs) via a stoppage in the eighth and final round.
The southpaw Grayton pressed forward early and often, looking to disrupt Martin and keep him uncomfortable. Martin was sharp early on, especially with right hand counters. He was the more accurate fighter over the first three rounds, but the experience of Grayton began to take over.
As the fight went on, Grayton’s attack gained effectiveness and Martin appeared to wear down from the constant pace. Grayton out threw Martin 537 para 308 and landed 172 punches to Martin’s 106.
Grayton took control of the fight in the sixth round, hurting Martin early with a blistering body attack and rocked him late in the round with crisp uppercuts. By round eight, Martin had faded and Grayton sensed his moment. A left hand to the body dropped Martin early, and while he beat the count, Grayton quickly pounced and delivered a flurry that caused referee Benjy Esteves Jr. para parar a luta 41 segundos na rodada.
Two-time Ecuadorian Olympian Carlos Gongora (6-0, 5 KOs)started the telecast off with an impressive first round stoppage of previously unbeaten Ronald Mixon (7-1, 6 KOs) in their light heavyweight clash.
Gongora wasted little time, feinting a right hook and following with a thudding overhand left that put Mixon on the mat immediately. The knockdown prompted referee Gary Rosato to wave off the count and stop the bout 1:16 na primeira rodada.
CALEB PLANT
It’s another win in the bag. I had bounce in my legs for all 10 rounds. I was taking my time in there and I feel like I’m getting better each fight.
I’ll fight whoever my team has lined up for me. It feels great to win as a headliner. We’re going to get right back in the gym and get ready for another fight.
JUAN DE ANGEL
I felt the size difference in the ring. I trained for a southpaw and he came out righty. That caught me off guard. He was better tonight.
DAVID GRAYTON
I was very motivated to perform well coming off of my loss. I wanted it more tonight and I wanted to make a statement to get back to where I belong.
I knew I had him hurt late in the fight and I kept hitting him with left hands. I stepped it up and got him out of there.
I’m going to go back to the gym and train hard and wait for my next fight.
KAREEM MARTIN
I lost a little focus and he caught me with a good shot that led to the stoppage.
It was a good back and forth fight. We were both getting a lot of shots in. I just need to come back with more focus next time.
CARLOS GONGORA
I was prepared and I analyzed his style and how he would fight. I knew I just had to connect with the right punch.
I want to dedicate this victory to my family and my whole country. It was a pleasure to do it on FS1 and FOX Deportes.
I am going straight to the top and I appreciate this opportunity to show the world who I am.

Plant gave a training camp update and talked about his upcoming bout and more:
On fighting in his first 10-round main event on FS1
This is a big opportunity for me to show the fans that I have arrived. FS1 is seen by millions around the word and I’m ready to make a statement to a national audience. I’ve been working hard to get to this point and I’m going to shine.
On his matchup with Juan De Angel...
Like all fights at this level, it’s going to be a tough fight. I’m expecting to see a hungry fighter who has nothing to lose. I myself have everything to lose so I’m going to make sure I’m at my best when we step in the ring. De Angel has held some regional belts so I know he has some tricks up his sleeve. One thing I will do is dictate the pace.
On the landscape of the middleweight division
The middleweight division has plenty of talent. Gennady Golovkin has a stranglehold on the division at the moment but I’m gunning for him and anyone else that’s in my way. First I have to get past this fight and then continue my march toward that world title.
On his recent training camp
My team and I have been working extremely hard. I’ve got all the right people in my corner helping me get to the top. I’m sparring with some really good fighters. I’ve taken my conditioning to new levels. My body is fresh and I’m amped up for this fight.
On his quest to become the first world champion to come out of Nashville, TN…
To become the first world champion to come out of Tennessee would be incredible. I know I have a lot of hard work that needs to be done but I’m ready for the difficult challenge. Nashville needs a boxing champion and I know in my heart that it will happen. I’m just taking it one fight at a time.

Deontay WILDER
Eu estou aqui para roubar o show.
É ‘hora do martelo’ no sábado.”
JAMAL JAMES
“Vou usar minha velocidade e capacidade atlética.

(Julho 13, 2016) – Candidato ao peso meio-médio Levam Ghvamichava (17-2-1, 13 KOs) scored two knockdowns before stopping Breidis Prescott (29-8, 21 KOs) in the seventh round of the main event Terça-feira noite em Premier Boxe dos Campeões TERÇA TOE-de-toe em FS1 e Boxe dos Campeões on FOX Deportes from Robinson Rancheria Resort & Casino in Nice, Califórnia.
Ghvamichava outworked and outslugged Prescott, knocking him down in round four before knocking him down again in round seven and eventually forcing the stoppage. Prescott got off to a fast start, using his length and a strong right hand to dictate action in the first frame.
Prescott couldn’t keep up the work rate however, as Ghvamichava began to close the distance and created more toe-to-toe exchanges. Na quarta rodada, Ghvamichava connected with a left hook and a right cross that dropped Prescott, who was able to beat the count and get back on his feet.
After the knockdown, Prescott attempted to revert to his round-one form by boxing and using his jab, but the persistent Ghvamichava kept working hard to get inside on the taller fighter. The hard work paid off in round seven when Prescott was severely staggered with a right hand before being sent to the canvas by a left hook.
Prescott was unable to recover as he beat the count narrowly but was on shaky ground. He hit the canvas two more times, both ruled pushes by the referee before a hard combination by Ghvamichava in the corner forced referee Michael Margado to stop the fight at 2:37 of round seven.
No momento da interrupção, Ghvamichava had thrown nearly 100 more punches than Prescott (495-397) and had out landed him 134 para 110.
The co-main event of the night saw Marcos Hernandez (8-0, 2 KOs) earn a unanimous decision in a competitive and entertaining eight-round super welterweight brawl against previously unbeaten Thomas Colina (6-1, 1 KO).
Hernandez and Hill went back and forth from start to finish in the first eight round bout of either prospect’s career. Hill looked to dictate the action with his jab and body work, but it was Hernandez who had more success throughout the night with his left hand and various uppercuts.
The sixth round saw Hill lose a point early on in the round for a low blow. The deduction clearly increased the urgency in Hill who pressed forward, delivering the best action of the fight. Hill pushed the pace but Hernandez withstood the strong combinations and repeatedly caught Hill with strong left hands. Outside of staggering Hill once early in the seventh round, both fighters continued to throw hard punches all the way to the final bell.
The punch stats reflected the close nature of the fight as Hernandez out landed Hill 161 para 157 while it was Hill who had the slight edge in accuracy, aterrissagem 33 percent of his punches to 31 percent for Hernandez. Even without the point deduction, the judges still preferred Hernandez, who landed the more significant punches, and gave him the decision by scores of 79-72, 78-73 e 77-74.
The opening bout of the telecast saw middleweight prospect Malcolm McAllister (8-0, 8 KOs) remain unbeaten with a stoppage victory over Gilberto Yoruba (7-3, 4 KOs). Yoruba did not come out for the eighth and final round after McAllister dominated the first seven rounds of the fight.
McAllister controlled the fight by working off of his strong jab with powerful right hands and hooks to the body. Yoruba continued to come forward throughout the fight, wildly throwing numerous overhand rights looking to stun the undefeated prospect.
After staggering Yoruba several times in round four, McAllister really began to do damage when he teed off on Yoruba with multiple unanswered shots to close out the frame. The one-sided action showed in the punch stats as McAllister out landed Yoruba 184 para 76 eventually leading to a frustrated Yoruba being deducted a point in round six for low blows.

Hernandez took the time to talk about his camp, sua Julho 12 matchup and more as he nears fight night. Here is what Hernandez had to say:
On making his television debut on FS1 and FOX Deportes
This is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for since I turned professional. I know I have to perform at a high level to prove I’m worthy of more TV dates. FS1 is where a lot of fights are on these days so I’m very appreciative to the PBC and FOX for giving me a chance to showcase my talent. Everyone can expect to see me go to war, and I’m going to leave everything in the ring, que você pode garantir.”
On his current training camp
This has been a wild camp. I got great sparring at Wild Card with Hugo Centeno and a few others. I had to travel outside of my area to get the sparring I needed to prepare me for this fight. I’m in the best shape of my life at the moment and I’m looking to be peaking on fight night. Everything is perfect right now.
On facing undefeated fighter Thomas Hill
I know he’s a tall fighter with really good boxing skills, so I’ll be prepared for his movement. He’s undefeated as well so I know it’s going to be a great fight. These are the fights that take you to the next level. One of us is going to advance in their career and the other will suffer a setback. Estou indo para ganhar.”
On his relationship with his father/trainer Joey Hernandez
My dad has been with me since the beginning. We know how to work with each other. He’s made a lot of sacrifices to get me where I’m at today. Of course we butt heads sometimes but at the end of the day, I know he’s got my back. We are on this journey together and I’m grateful for all that he’s done for me. We are a great team.
On the importance of staying undefeated
It’s very important for my career to remain undefeated. A win will keep me in the mix as far as fighting on big cards, especially on TV. This is a major crossroad in my career and the time is now for me to take it to the next level. I need to win this bout and march up the rankings, guaranteeing me more big fights.
