Alyson DeRenzis wins Boxcino Bracket Challenge

Philadelphia, PA (Maj 6, 2015)— Banner Promotions is pleased to announce that Alyson DeRenzis has taken first place in the Boxcino Bracket Challenge.
Alyson will take home the grand prize of two ringside tickets to the Boxcino finals that will take place on Maj 22 i Corona, California, a full roundtrip for two to the finals, complete with a hotel stay and meals for two, as well as a guest invitation to the pre-fight weigh in and post fight press conference. Alyson will also receive two Boxcino t-shirts.
The runner-up is Matt Andrzejewski. Matt will have two tickets to the finals and two Boxcino t-shirts.

ORANGE, Calif. (Maj 5, 2015) – Junior mellemvægt Brandon Adams (16-1, 12 KOS) is returning to a familiar situation. After coming up short in last year’s Boxcino finals and suffering the only loss of his career, the Los Angeles-native dropped down one weight class and fought his way back to the 10-round championship fight.

Adams faces the smooth boxing skills of John Thompson (16-1, 5 KOS) af Newark, New Jersey on Friday, Maj 22, fra Omega Products Outdoor Arena i Corona, Calif. i Boxcino 2015 junior middleweight championship.

The Boxcino Finals is televised on ESPN “Friday Night Fights” (Espn2 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT) and is co-promoted through Arthur Pelullo’s Banner Promotions and Ken Thompson’s Thompson Boxing Promotions.

“Everything is good, training is going well,” Brandon Adams sagde. “Jeg‘m still in shape from my last fight and I’m coming to get what is mine. I’m going to put on a performance that will make everyone proud.”

“My training camp has been great,” John Thompson sagde. “Jeg‘ve been working hard, staying hungry. I have one day on my mind and that is May 22nd.”

Dennis and Fedosov have electrified the crowds leading up to the tournament finals. They both showed off their freight train like power by knocking out their respective opponents in the Boxcino quarter and semifinals.

“I’ve been in Los Angeles for training camp, getting good sparring,” Donovan Dennissagde. “Jeg know Andrey will be ready, and so will I.”

“I’m glad that I’ve made it into the finals of this great tournament on ESPN,” Andrey Fedosov sagde. “Jeg‘m training very hard in Los Angeles and I’m confident that I will win the fight.”

“I’m looking forward to the Boxcino finals,” said Artie Pelullo, president of Banner Promotions. “The finals will be terrific with two exciting and compelling fights.”

John Thompson reflects on Boxcino semifinal win and looks forward towards the final on May 22

Newark, NJ (April 21, 2015)— John “Apollo Kidd” Thompson has begun preparations for his Maj 22 Boxcino final bout against Brandon Adams. (17-1, 12 KO s).

Thompson is in Virginia, training under Kay Koroma and he is looking to win the prestigious tournament against Thompson in the 10-round bout at the Omega Products International Outdoor Arena in Corona, California.
Thompson (16-1, 5 KO s) is coming off a 8-round split decision over previously undefeated Stanyslav Skorokhod on April 10 i Bethlehem, PA.
“I outboxed the guy,” Said Thompson. I focused on what I needed to focus on and that was using my jab. I also focused on not to exchange and bang with him and I did a pretty good job of that.”
“As well as I fought, I do not think that was even my best win.”
Now he looks towards Adams. Adams of Los Angeles has experience in the Boxcino finals as his only loss was to Willie Monroe Jr. in last year’s Middleweight finals.
“I am happy to be in the finals. This is an opportunity that will be the uprising of my career,” continued Thompson.
“Brandon is a brawler. He will have a few weeks to come up with a strategy to beat me.”
Said Thompson’s promoter, Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions, “I believe we are longer, been in tougher and the better boxer. Brandon is a good fighter but I think he is too green. I know he had a brief amateur career and he could be too green for John.”

Uncasville, Conn. (April 17, 2015) – Undefeated junior mellemvægt Tony Harrison rolled to his 21st straight victory in aftenens ESPN Fredag Night Fights main event, presented by DiBella Entertainment in association with New Legend Boxing, på Mohegan Sun Arena.

 

Harrison (21-0, 18 KOS), fighting out of Detroit, droppet Pablo Munguia (20-7, 11 KOS) at the end of the second round with a powerful punch. Munguia was examined between rounds by the ring doctor. Dommer Arthur Mercante needed only 11 seconds into the next round to determine that the Mexican was unable to be competitive, awarding Harrison a victory by technical knockout.

 

“I’m looking for whoever Al HAYMON puts me in with,” 24-year-old Harrison remarked. “I’m from Detroit. I’ve never said ‘no’ to an opponent I was offered, which says a lot about me. We have a lot of heart in Detroit. I’m ready for a big fight. I got him with a step-back overhand right. I wish they had let it go a little longer. I wanted to finish him, but the bell went off.”

Connecticut fan favorite, Mexican-born Danny Aquino (17-2, 10 KOS), upset previously undefeated Massachusetts featherweight Ryan “Den polske Prince” Kielczweski (22-1, 6 KOS) by way of an eight-round split decision in an entertaining co-feature event for New England bragging rights. The aggressive-fighting Aquino kept coming forward throughout the fight, as Kielczweski effectively counter-punched. Neither fighter was remotely hurt in the action-packed clash of gifted boxers.

 

Aquino defeated Kielczweski the one time they fought in the amateurs. “Because of his record,” Aquino commented, “this was the biggest win of my career. It was extra special winning my first ESPN fight, for. I think my aggressiveness was the difference. He was moving around and I had to keep putting pressure on him to make it my fight, not his fight. I hope this fight will give me opportunities and I’ll take the best.”

 

“It was definitely a tough fight,” Kielczweski noted. “Making weight definitely took a lot out of me. I think I boxed well, landed the harder shots and blocked most of his. I guess the judges likes his aggression, but I thought I won the fight.”

Ghanaian southpaw Lennox “2 Sharpe” Allen (19-0-1, 12 KOS), fighting out of New York City, overcame a flash knockdown at the end of round six to knock out a gamePaul Gonsalves (7-7-1, 3 KOS) in the following round. Allen connected with a straight left hand punch that landed flush on the Cape Cod light heavyweight’s chin.

 

Unbeaten middleweight Alantez “SlyAza” Fox (15-0-1, 5 KOS), fighting out of Maryland, outclassed Dominican invader Franklin Gonzalez (16-14, 10 KOS) on his way to a second-round technical knockout, trapping his opponent against the ropes and unloaded a barrage of unanswered punches until referee Harvey Dock halted the action.

 

Exciting Houston welterweight Regis “Rougarou” PROGRAMMER ran his record to 14-0 (12 KOS), standsning Abraham “Swift” Alvarez (19-8-1, 9 KOS) ved 1:28 mark of the opening round. The promising southpaw prospect put his Mexican opponent down with a viscous, straight left to the body.

 

Former U. of New Haven basketball star Cassius Chaney (1-0, 1 KO) had a successful professional debut, pounding Perry Filkins (0-2) until referee Danny Sciavone stoppede kampen 41 sekunder inde i anden runde.

LAS VEGAS (April 17, 2015) – Just two days before the historic showdown between Floyd Mayweather og Manny Pacquiao, Mayweather Promotions will give boxing fans a special treat on Cinco De Mayo weekend when they present the “Sin City Showdown” på Torsdag, April 30 headlined by former world champion Er Han “Sugar Shay” Smith (26-7, 12 KOS) taking on the hard-fighting Cecil McCalla (20-1, 7 KOS) live on a special Torsdag udgave af ESPN Fredag Night Fights from the Pearl at Palms Casino Resort.

A knockout victory Ryan Davis gave Smith another title shot as he challenged Erislandy Lara in Dec. 2014. Smith fought well but was beaten by Lara via unanimous decision.

A threat to deliver a big knockout every time he enters the ring, Gavril hopes to bounce back from his first professional loss when he battles Hunter. The 28-year-old dropped a close decision to longtime contender Elvin Ayala on March 28 but had previously won nine of his first 11 pro fights by knockout. Born in Romania, but fighting out of Las Vegas, Gavril looks to get back on the right track on April 30.

 

The 28-year-old Jæger has lost his last three fights but has certainly faced tough competition having battled undefeated fighters in 13 of his pro fights. Fighting out of Seattle, Hunter will look to pull off an upset on April 30 i Las Vegas.

Uncasville, Conn. (April 16, 2015) — The official weight-in was held today for i morgen night’s ESPN Fredag Night Fights Triple-Header, presented by DiBella Entertainment, in Mohegan Sun Arena.

Brandon Adams og John Thompson won semifinal bouts in the Boxcino 2015 Jr. Middleweight Tournament while Andrey Fedosov og Donovan Dennis scored impressive stoppage victories in the Heavyweight tournament, as all four punched their tickets to the finals in bouts that took place this past Fredag på Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem.
The bouts were televised live on ESPN Fredag Night Fights.
The show was promoted by Banner Promotions, Inc.
The finals of both weight classes will take place on Fredag, Maj 22 at the Omega Products International Outdoor Arena in Corona, California and will be aired live on ESPN Fredag Night Fights.
Brandon Adams lands the uppercut
Adams took out longtime friend Vito Gasparyan in round seven of their scheduled 8-round bout.
Adams worked very well on the inside as he landed some solid shots to the head and landed to the body nicely. Gasparyan hung tough against his one-time sparring partner but the amount of solid punches began to show on Gasparyan and the bout was stopped 35 seconds into round seven with a badly swollen left ear.
Adams, 155 1/2 lbs of Los Angeles moves onto the finals with a record of 17-1 med 12 knockouts. Gasparyan, 154 lbs of Burbank, CA er nu 15-4-5. Adams will not meet John Thompson.
John Thompson won an 8-round split decision over previously undefeated Stanyslav Skorokhod.
Thompson lands the right hand
Thompson boxed well early as he used his jab to set up three and four punch combinations, while Skorokhod landed some good power shots. Skorokhod was cut around his right eye in round two while Thompson suffered a cut in the same area in round four.
Thompson did well when the fight was in the center of the ring. Skorokhod landed several flush punches but it wasn’t enough as the judges preferred the boxing of Thompson to the tune of 78-74 og 77-75 while Skorokhod won a card 78-74.
Thompson, 154 3/4 lbs af Newark, NJ is now 16-1. Skorokhod, 153 3/4 lbs of Los Angeles via Ukraine is now 9-1.
“I had to box him as he was swinging wild. I outboxed him. He was just swinging and not throwing any straight shots,” Said Thompson.

Dennis landed a thudding straight left that landed flush on the chin of Cojanu and the big man fell flat on the canvas and the bout was stopped 59 seconds into round two.
“I used my speed, quick feet and combinations,” said Dennis. “I saw an opening in the first round and then in the second I came with an overhand left that landed right on the button and he crumbled to the canvas.”
The punch was so devastating that it was ESPN Sports Center top play of the night.
On fighting Andrey Fedosov in the finals, “It is going to be a tough fight and I will have to work harder.”

Just seconds into the bout, Thomas landed a straight left and sent Fedosov to the canvas. Fedosov came back in round three and landed a ripping combination that led to Thomas to a knee and and he did not beat referee Gary Rosado’s count at 1:01 af runde tre.

Philadelphia (April 8, 2015)-–Denne fredag nat på Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem, Det Boxcino 2015 semifinals will take place in both the heavyweight and jr. middleweight divisions. All eight fighters have been training hard for this great opportunity that will be broadcasted live on ESPN Friday Night Fights beginning at 9 PM ET.
All Boxcino bouts are scheduled for eight rounds.

(April 6, 2015) – Letvægts standout og Boxcino 2014 Letvægts mester, Petr Petrov (36-4-2, 16 KOS) lavet en stærk sag for en fremtidig verden titel skudt med sin ensidige, enstemmighed sejr mod tidligere verdensmester Gamaliel Diaz (39-12-3, 18 KOS) i de vigtigste tilfælde af ESPN “Fredag Night Fights” fra Omega Products Outdoor Arena i Corona, Calif. Los Angeles, F.EKS (Marts 31, 2015)– Undefeated weltervægt Taras “Real Deal” Shelestyuk (11-0, 8 KO s) bliver klar til hans 3 april nationalt tv debut, da han tager på Juan Rodriguez Jr. i den fælles træk ved et ESPN Friday Night Fights kort i Corona, California.
