WORCESTER, Masse. (Juli 31, 2018) – Ein Dutzend Jahre nach eroberte er seinen dritten WM-Titel in zwei verschiedenen Gewichtsklassen, sieben seit seinem letzten Kampf, “Der gallo” Jose Rivera wieder in den Ring August 17 Schlagzeile “Heimkehr”, von Granit Chin Promotions präsentiert (GCP) in Verbindung mit Rivera Promotions Unterhaltung (RPE), im Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts.

 

 

 

Die 45-jährige Rivera (41-6-1, 24 KOs) hat bereits mehr als verloren 30 Pfund, nun innerhalb von vier Pfund seiner kontrahierten Gewicht, da er in diesem Jahr begonnene Ausbildung früher. Er wird Schlagzeile gegen Ruben “Modern Day Krieger” Galvan (27-26-4, 10 KOs) in dem Acht-Runden-Main Event.

 

 

 

In 1997, Rivera eroberte die International Boxing Organization (IBO) Welt-Titel im Weltergewicht, Einstellung Gilberto Flores in der zweiten Runde. Sechs Jahre später, reiste er nach Deutschland auf ungeschlagen zu nehmen, Heimatstadt Favoriten Michel Trabant (38-0) um die vakante World Boxing Association (WBA) Welt-Meisterschaft im Weltergewicht, in denen gewonnen Rivera eine 12-Runden-Entscheidung und den Gürtel.

 

 

 

Vor fast 10,000 Heimatstadt Fans in Worcester, Rivera seine Box-Karriere mit einer Kappe bedeckt durch ein 12-Runden einstimmig gewinnt in 2006 über Titelverteidigerin Alejandro Garcia(25-1) um den WBA-Weltsuperweltergewicht Titel.

Während Rivera Titel regiert, im Gegensatz zu anderen Weltmeister, er hielt auch einen Vollzeit-Job als Gerichtsoffizier in der Massachusetts Tatgericht, noch eine Position in Worcester, dass er hält 17 Jahre später. Rivera ist nicht unter irgendwelchen Illusionen, dass sein Comeback zu einem anderen großen WM-Titel führt. Der Plan ist für ihn zwei weitere Kämpfe zu haben insgesamt zu erreichen 50 wie ein Profi, aber er nimmt die Dinge einen Kampf auf einmal, und er hofft, dass nach wie vor seinen nächsten Kampf, später für dieses Jahr vorläufig geplant, wird sein Sohn Profidebüt auf der gleichen Karte wie.

 

 

 

Rivera zuletzt kämpfte in 2011, eine Acht-Runden-Entscheidung zu übernehmen Paul Mpendo, im Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. Die kampferprobten Galvan, sein August. 17th Gegner aus Indiana, hat andere Weltmeister gekämpft, Einschließlich Zab Judah, Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr., Jorge Paez und Paul Spadafora.

Former Heavyweight Contender David ‘Nino’ Rodriguez Debuts as Television Commentator

Former heavyweight contender and noted author David “Nino” Rodriguez says he enjoyed his debut as a broadcaster on Friday night at Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas.

 

 

 

Rodriguez was honored to serve alongside play-by-play man Jim Grieshaber as color commentator for USA beIN Sports’ showing of Summer Brawl 2018, featuring Laredo-based lightweight journeyman Victor Rosas’ (10-8, 4 KOs) upset fourth-round stoppage victory over Las Vegas contender Randy Moreno (12-2, 10 KOs) and hometown KO artist Jorge Castaneda’s (10-1, 10 KOs) sixth-round stoppage of Carlos Villareal (9-3, 8 KOs) von Las Vegas.

 

 

 

The event was presented by Ivaylo Gotzev of Epic Sports and Entertainment, Keith Veltre of Roy Jones Jr Boxing Promotions and Triple A Promotions.

 

 

 

“It was exhilarating to be back around the bright lights and fight atmosphere once again,” said an excited Rodriguez. “Nothing will be as stimulating as getting inside the ring, but commentating a live television production was nothing short of the next best thing. I loved breaking down the fighters and introducing my knowledge to a live audience.”

 

 

 

Rodriguez says he wishes to thank the event promoters who took a chance on his abilities outside the ring and says the entire show turned out perfectly.

Currently in the process of opening El Paso’s first Weight loss Clinic and Spa (with partner Arturo Ortiz), Rodriguez, Wer ging 37-2, 35 KOs and once held the WBA-NABA and NABU Heavyweight Championships as a fighter, says he’d love to return as commentator in the future.

EDMONTON, Kanada (Juli 30, 2018) – Resilient Canadian boxer Steve “Der Drache” Claggett (27-5-1, 17 KOs) pulled off another impressive road victory last Saturday night, when he edged previously unbeaten defending champion Petros Ananyan (13-1-2, 6 KOs) to capture the International Boxing Federation (IBF) International super lightweight title.

 

 

 

Presented by Lee Baxter Promotions, Claggett vs.. Ananyan headlined the second installment of “SUPERBOX LIVE: – “Rise Up” – that aired across Canada exclusively on Super Channel, live from Powerade Centre in Brampton, Kanada. Live streamed worldwide on FITE.TV, the event will also airtomorrow (Dienstag, Juli 31) bei 7 p.m. in the United Kingdom on BoxNation (Besuch www.boxnation.com for listings).

 

 

 

Claggett, fighting out of Calgary, Kanada, bounced back from a loss by way of a 10-round decision this past St. Patrick’s Day to Danny O'Connor in Boston.

 

 

 

Armenia-native Ananya, now residing in Moscow, captured his IBF International title last October, when he upset 30-1 Titelverteidiger Luca Giacon, who was fighting at home in Spain, by way of a six-round technical decision.

 

 

 

Claggett, who overcame a flash opening-round knockdown, won a close 10-round unanimous decision by the three judges’ Partituren von 95-94.

 

 

 

A true road warrior, Claggett has now won four of his last five fights, highlighted by upsets of three previously unbeaten opponents, all on the road by way of 10-riound decisions, starting in 2016 gegen Emmanuel raubt (15-0-1) in Las Vegas for the North American Boxing Association (Auch Noch) USA junior middleweight title, followed last October in Montreal versus highly-touted prospect Yves Ylyssee, Jr. (14-0) for the IBF North American crown, and the latest being Ananyan.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Runde. (Juli 30, 2018) – 2004 U.S.. Olympier Jason “Big Six” Straße fully believes that boxing saved his life, preventing him from running the streets of Providence, Rhode Island, and molding him into the man he is today.

 

 

 

“I didn’t have any money growing up and could have easily gone the other way in the streets,” Estrada explained. “A lot of my friends from back then were selling drugs are many are either dead or in jail. I knew them all, they knew me. Instead of becoming a drug dealer, I beat them up and took their money. I could have easily ended up seller drugs on a bigger scale, shot them, or gotten shot by them. I was broke, but boxing saved me!”

 

 

 

Estrada’s first amateur match was in 1987, when he was only seven years old, and he developed into one of the most dominant amateur boxers in the world between 2001-2003, in which he was a “three-peat” champion at the USA National Championships, PAL National Championships and U.S. Herausforderung. “Big Six” also remains the only American boxer to capture a gold medal in the super heavyweight division of the Pan-American Games (2003), in addition to representing the U.S. in der 2004 Olympischen Spiele in Athen, Griechenland.

 

 

 

After qualifying for the 2004 U.S.. Olympic Boxing Team, much of the pre-Olympic Games boxing interest surrounded an expected showdown between the top two super heavyweights in the world, Estrada and Russia’s Alexander Povetin. Leider, Estrada was hampered by a severe case of planta faucitis, which left Jason in an air cast and unable to train other than swimming throughout the entire pre-Olympics camp. Estrada won in the opening round, but he was eliminated in the second by Cuban Michel Lopes, who Estrada had fairly easily defeated in the championship final of the 2003 Panamerikanische Spiele. Povetkin went on to capture the gold medal.

 

 

 

“I would have loved to fight him” Estrada said. “I was super sharp, geistig, but physically I couldn’t bounce and move. I just had to deal with it. I found out that it was amazing how quickly people forget in boxing.”

 

 

 

Not only does Estrada credit his father, optometrist Dr. Roland Estrada, for helping to keep him on the straight and narrow, he also taught him to box. “My father didn’t have any boxing experience when we started,” Jason noted. “We went from gym to gym, sparring guys, and picking up things from other coaches. I appreciated my father so much because he always knew that his style wasn’t the only style. We experienced different styles and met some great coaches. Two of my favorite coaches are Barry Hunter (Washington, D.C.) und Mike Stafford (Cincinnati). I’m cool with fighters I met in the amateurs like Andre Dirrell. The guy I’m closest with is George Garcia, who I fought and beat nine times. He’s one of my coolest friends, obwohl. His son is a good prospect coming up, but he’s the opposite of his father, who was short and stocky. His son is a tall, lanky boxer.”

“I really enjoy helping our fighters prepare for media interviews. I’m thankful to USA Boxing for that, because we were trained to be in the right state of mind for interviews.”

 

 

 

Estrada had an opportunity to travel the world as a member of USA Boxing’s elite teams, boxing in Cuba, Dominican Republic Kazakhstan, Irland (3 mal), Germany and Brazil.

 

 

 

Now giving back to young boxers what he learned in USA Boxing ranks, the 37-year-old Estrada has one boxing goal left on his wish list.

 

 

 

“I’d love to work with somebody who becomes world champion and makes money to support their family,” Estrada concluded, “but more than anything, I’d love to work with a boxer who becomes a U.S. Olympian because I was a U.S. Olympian.”

 

 

 

And nobody can ever take that away from Jason “Big Six” Straße, one of America’s most decorated amateur boxers of all-time, and a proud USA Boxing Alumni Association member.

Boxing For The World 5K Run a Success in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico (Juli 30, 2018) – Letzten Sonntag (22. Juli) in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Boxing For The World staged a 5K run, which served as a fundraiser for The Make A Wish Foundation of Puerto Rico facility . The facility (nach hause) houses children with Cancer and other terminal illnesses. The facility sustained major damages due to Hurricane Maria .

 

 

 

The main sponsor was the WBC and their WBC Cares program.

 

 

 

No less than 20 of the greatest fighters in Puerto Rico took part in the walk such as:

Mercedes Simmons, who is a board member for Boxing For The World as well as the CEO of Pretty Girl Promotions was ecstatic about the turnout for the great event.

 

 

 

“We are so happy that the legends of Puerto Rico boxing came out to support this very important cause. The building is vital for those children in need, and we are on our way to rehabbing the facility after the terrible damage it sustained during the hurricane. The WBC really came through, and really was a huge help to this fundraiser.” said Simmons.

 

 

 

“WBC did a great thing. I informed them that Daniel Alicea’s WBC Continental belt and NABF belt were stolen from him house while he was undergoing chemotherapy. When I approached Mauricio Sulaiman and Jill Diamond from the WBC, without hesitation they agreed to redo the belts and also sponsor the 5k”

 

 

 

 

“The first edition of Boxing for the World 5k, a project of I am Working for the World Foundation exceeded our expectations,” said Abner DiSilva, President of I’m Working for the World Foundation. “For the first time in Puerto Rico’s history we were able to unite boxing legends under one roof for a great cause . These boxing icons changed their boxing gloves for sneakers and ran/walked to help those in need. This is the beginning of our new model, to maximize their reach to bring awareness to humanitarian needs not only in the island but in the entire world. Der Vier-Teilung Weltmeister Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) - die zum ersten Mal seit sieben Jahren in seiner Heimat Südkalifornien kämpft - hält seinen 135-Pfund-WBC-Titel, und behauptet auch, Ostern IBF Leichtgewichtiges Gürtel

 

 

 

 

„Ich bin hier für die größten Herausforderungen,“, Sagte Garcia, 30, der einen Titel zum ersten Mal in seiner Karriere vereinten. „Ich weiß nicht, ob es jemand ist, der eine größere Herausforderung als Errol Spence ist. Garcia erzielte in der dritten Runde gegen Ostern ein knock down (21-1, 14 KOs) von Toledo, Ohio, das wurde erst zum zweiten Mal in seiner Karriere auf die Leinwand geschickt. „Gott sei Dank fanden sie eine Heilung für Krankheit meiner Tochter,“Ortiz sagte. „Meine Frau sagte mir, während ich das Flugzeug einsteigen wollte zu uns kommen. Es ist hart von ihnen weg zu sein. Ich bin glücklich, dass ich gewonnen, aber es ist wirklich hart von ihnen weg zu sein.“

 

 

 

 

 

Beide Kämpfer kamen aus Verluste in Schwergewichts-WM-Titel kämpft. Ortiz wurde zum ersten Mal kämpft seit herausfordernden Deontay Wilder in einem 2018 Kampf des Jahres Kandidat. NEW YORK (Juli 27, 2018)–Four highly regarded and undefeated prospects from Boxing’s deepest management stable, David McWater’s Split-T Management will be in action am Samstag night at The Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky.
Janelson Bocachica (10-0, 7 KOs) von Detroit, Michigan battles Noel Esqueda (8-5-2, 6 KOs) of Wichita, Kansas in a six-round welterweight bout.
Bocachica, einfach 19 years-old continues his rapid ascent as he will be making his 3rd start of 2018.


Joshua Temple (6-0, 5 KOs) St.. Louis, Missouri battles Alexander Brunson (2-1, 1 KO) of Tallahassee, Florida in a six-round cruierweight bout.
Temple, 25 years-old is a 6’4″ prospect who will be making his 2nd appearance of the year, and is coming off two consecutive wins over undefeated opponents.

Jesaja Steen (10-0, 8 KOs) Cleveland, Ohio battles Cameron Burroughs (4-4, 3 KOs) of Friendswood, Texas in a super middleweight bout.
Steen, who is the half-brother of fellow undefeated prospect and 2016 U.S., Olympier, (and fellow Split-T Management fighter) Charles Conwell. Steen is just 21 Jahre alt und, he will be making his 2018 Debüt.
Marquis Moore (7-0, 4 KOs) von Denver, Colorado will take on 30-fight veteran Demetrius Walker in a six-round super middleweight bout.
Moore will be making his 2nd appearance of 2018, and is coming off a unanimous decision win over Troy Artis on May 18th.
