WBA and WBO to add regional titles to Boxcino championship fights this Friday in Corona, Kalifornie

ORANGE, Kalif. (Květen 18, 2015) – Tento pátek night at the Omega Products Outdoor Arena, the 2015 Boxcino finals will take place in the heavyweight and jr. middleweight divisions.
The fights will be televised on ESPN Friday Night Fights beginning at 10 PM ET.

The 2015 Boxcino Tournament is promoted by Banner Promotions.

Páteční show is promoted by Thompson Boxing and Banner Promotions.
The stakes just grew even more as two more belts have been added to each final bout.
In the heavyweight final between Andrey Fedosov a Donovan Dennis, the WBA Fedelatin and the WBO Intercontinental titles will be on the line, in addition to the Boxcino 2015 Heavyweight championship.
V Jr. middleweight bout between Brandon Adams a John Thompson, the NABA Interim Super Welterweight title as well as the WBO Intercontinental Jr. Middleweight belts will be contested for, in addition to the Boxcino 2015 Jr. Název Middleweight.

Alyson DeRenzis wins Boxcino Bracket Challenge

Philadelphie, PA (Květen 6, 2015)— Banner Promotions is pleased to announce that Alyson DeRenzis has taken first place in the Boxcino Bracket Challenge.
Alyson will take home the grand prize of two ringside tickets to the Boxcino finals that will take place on Květen 22 Corona, Kalifornie, a full roundtrip for two to the finals, complete with a hotel stay and meals for two, as well as a guest invitation to the pre-fight weigh in and post fight press conference. After coming up short in last year’s Boxcino finals and suffering the only loss of his career, the Los Angeles-native dropped down one weight class and fought his way back to the 10-round championship fight.

John Thompson reflects on Boxcino semifinal win and looks forward towards the final on May 22

Newark, NJ (Duben 21, 2015)— John “Apollo Kidd” Thompson has begun preparations for his Květen 22 Boxcino final bout against Brandon Adams. (17-1, 12 KO).

Thompson (16-1, 5 KO) is coming off a 8-round split decision over previously undefeated Stanyslav Skorokhod on April 10 v Betlémě, PA.
“I outboxed the guy,” Said Thompson. I focused on what I needed to focus on and that was using my jab. I also focused on not to exchange and bang with him and I did a pretty good job of that.”
“As well as I fought, I do not think that was even my best win.”
Now he looks towards Adams. Adams of Los Angeles has experience in the Boxcino finals as his only loss was to Willie Monroe Jr. in last year’s Middleweight finals.
“I am happy to be in the finals. This is an opportunity that will be the uprising of my career,” continued Thompson.
“Brandon is a brawler. He will have a few weeks to come up with a strategy to beat me.”
Said Thompson’s promoter, Vito Mielnicki of GH3 Promotions, “I believe we are longer, been in tougher and the better boxer. Brandon is a good fighter but I think he is too green. I know he had a brief amateur career and he could be too green for John.”

“Chávez řekl před zápasem, který si nemyslel, že bych si mohl vzít jeho tělo údery. Myslím, že jsem se jim docela dobře a prošel toto kritérium.

 

“Vím, že jsou věci, které jsem si ještě pracují na ve výcviku, aby se stal více kompletní boxer, alednes večer byl splněný sen. Chci zápas s (Lehká těžká váha mistr světa) Adonis Stevenson.

Escandon měl pocit, že udělal dost vyhrát navzdory zranění pravého ukazováčku na pravé ruce v sedmém kole.

“Udělal jsem všechno, co jsem mohl, všechno bylo v mém dosahu, ale myslím, že jsem si zlomil nebo prasklá můj prst,” řekl. “V boxu se věci dějí, které jsou mimo naši kontrolu. Protože jsem ublížil mě za ruku, Nemohl jsem házet šídla tak, jak jsem chtěl, aby s mou pravou rukou. Snažil jsem se dělat všechno, co jsem mohl s ním. Ale já jsem nechtěl, aby jej dále zranit. Jsem v pořádku, ale rozhodně bych rád odvetu.”

 

V SHOWTIME EXTREME společné funkce, Super Welterweight Omar “El Podnikatel”Chavez (33-3-1, 22 KO), z Culiacan, mladší bratr Chavez, Jr. a syn legendárního Julio Cesar Sr., vyhrál vzrušující, hard-bojoval, dát-a-vzít osm celý jednomyslné rozhodnutí nad Richard Gutierrez (28-16-1, 17 KO), z Arjona, Kolumbie.

Chávez vyhrál základě výsledků 78-75 a dvakrát 77-74. Nebyly zjištěny žádné knockdowns.

Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32 KO) is the reigning WBC and Ring Magazine middleweight world champion and the first native of Puerto Rico to become world champion in four different weight classes. He is the former WBO junior welterweight world champion, the former WBA welterweight world champion, the former WBO welterweight world champion and the former WBA super welterweight world champion. Brandon Adams a John Thompson won semifinal bouts in the Boxcino 2015 Jr. Middleweight Tournament while Andrey Fedosov a Donovan Dennis scored impressive stoppage victories in the Heavyweight tournament, as all four punched their tickets to the finals in bouts that took place this past Pátek v Sands Casino Resort Betléma.
The bouts were televised live on ESPN Pátek Noční Boje.
The show was promoted by Banner Promotions, Inc.
The finals of both weight classes will take place on Pátek, Květen 22 at the Omega Products International Outdoor Arena in Corona, California and will be aired live on ESPN Pátek Noční Boje.
Brandon Adams lands the uppercut
Adams took out longtime friend Vito Gasparyan in round seven of their scheduled 8-round bout.
Adams worked very well on the inside as he landed some solid shots to the head and landed to the body nicely. Gasparyan hung tough against his one-time sparring partner but the amount of solid punches began to show on Gasparyan and the bout was stopped 35 seconds into round seven with a badly swollen left ear.

Thompson, 154 3/4 kg Newark, NJ is now 16-1. Skorokhod, 153 3/4 lbs of Los Angeles via Ukraine is now 9-1.
“I had to box him as he was swinging wild. I outboxed him. He was just swinging and not throwing any straight shots,” Said Thompson.
Dennis lands the knockout blow
Donovan Dennis

scored a highlight reel 2nd round stoppage over 6’7″ Razvan Cojnau.
Dennis landed a thudding straight left that landed flush on the chin of Cojanu and the big man fell flat on the canvas and the bout was stopped 59 seconds into round two.
“I used my speed, quick feet and combinations,” řekl Dennis. “I saw an opening in the first round and then in the second I came with an overhand left that landed right on the button and he crumbled to the canvas.”
The punch was so devastating that it was ESPN Sports Center top play of the night.
On fighting Andrey Fedosov in the finals, “It is going to be a tough fight and I will have to work harder.”

The two exchanged blows throughout a raucous twelfth round that stirred the crowd of 12,300 at Barclays Center into a frenzy. The judges tallies ended at 115-113 for Garcia twice and one score of 114-114.

Lee and Quillin landed almost the same percentage of punches with Lee connecting on 38 percent and Quillin on 39 procento. One judge scored the bout 113-112 for Lee with another scoring the bout 113-112 for Quillin and the final had a score of 113-113.

 

“There’s a reason why judges are judges. They see it their way. I respect the decision,” Said Quillin.

 

[On being knocked down] “There’s a first time for everything. I’m very thankful that I was able to get back up and keep fighting. I took a year off and I was able to go 12-rounds and I could have kept going.”

26 year old “The Genius” Jamie Speight has a wish come true on 16th Květen 2015 when he co-headlines the massive Goodwin Boxing “Master Class” bill at York Hall defending his Southern Area Featherweight title against Ian Bailey.

 

“I am over the moon at signing with Steve Goodwin” said Jamie “With everything he has done for me so far I could not be happier. This is the first time in years I have not had to go on the road and be the away fighter and have waited to be promoted as the home fighter for so long”.

 

Speight has had an up and down career but being sent as the away fighter meant that to Speight he never had the rub of the green or the advantage given to other fighters. Only two years ago Speight took Josh Warrington the distance in Warrington’s back yard and then subsequently lost a contentious decision to Lewis Pettitt once again in the opponent’s corner.
