WBA and WBO to add regional titles to Boxcino championship fights this Friday in Corona, Califòrnia

TARONJA, Califòrnia. (Maig 18, 2015) – Aquest divendres night at the Omega Products Outdoor Arena, la 2015 Boxcino finals will take place in the heavyweight and jr. middleweight divisions.
The fights will be televised on ESPN Friday Night Fights beginning at 10 PM ET.

La 2015 Boxcino Tournament is promoted by Banner Promotions.

The stakes just grew even more as two more belts have been added to each final bout.
In the heavyweight final between Andrey Fedossov i Donovan Dennis, the WBA Fedelatin and the WBO Intercontinental titles will be on the line, in addition to the Boxcino 2015 Heavyweight championship.
Al Jr. middleweight bout between Brandon Adams i John Thompson, the NABA Interim Super Welterweight title as well as the WBO Intercontinental Jr. Middleweight belts will be contested for, in addition to the Boxcino 2015 Jr. Títol de pes mitjà.

Alyson DeRenzis wins Boxcino Bracket Challenge

Filadèlfia, Pennsilvània (Maig 6, 2015)— Banner Promotions is pleased to announce that Alyson DeRenzis has taken first place in the Boxcino Bracket Challenge.
Alyson will take home the grand prize of two ringside tickets to the Boxcino finals that will take place on Maig 22 a Corona, Califòrnia, a full roundtrip for two to the finals, complete with a hotel stay and meals for two, as well as a guest invitation to the pre-fight weigh in and post fight press conference. Alyson will also receive two Boxcino t-shirts.

CARSON, Califòrnia. (Abril 18, 2015) – Confident and determined, Andrzej “The PolishPríncep” Fonfara (27-3, 16 KOs) spoiled the ring return of Juli Cèsar Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32 KOs) in resounding fashion Dissabte nit, flooring the former middleweight champion one time en route to a one-sided ninth-round TKO in the main event ofSHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING viure TEMPS DE LA FUNCIÓ.

“Chavez said before the fight that he didn’t think I could take his body punches. I think I took them pretty good and passed that test.

 

“I know there are things I can still work on in training to become a more complete boxer, peròaquesta nit was a dream come true. I want a rematch with (Light Heavyweight World Champion) Adonis Stevenson.

 

Said Chavez, the son of legendary Mexican icon, Juli Cèsar Chavez Sr. in the ring afterward and before he was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, “Maybe 170,172 pounds is too big for me, maybe I’ll go back down. I’m not sure what my future holds. It was a very tough fight. But I congratulate Andrzej.”

 

Goossen told reporters afterward that he had “stopped the fight. It was my decision. I didn’t like what I saw. ”

 

In the first half of a SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING doubleheader, undefeated world-ranked super lightweight Amir I (17-0, 14 KOs), of Davie, Fla., per mitjà d'Albany, N.Y., won a lopsided 10-round decision over Walter “El Martell” Castell.

“I did all that I could, everything was in my reach, but I think I broke or fractured my finger,” ell va dir. “In boxing things happen that are out of your control. Because I hurt my hand, I couldn’t throw punches the way I wanted to with my right hand. I tried to do all I could with it. But I didn’t want to injure it further. I’m OK, but I definitely would love a rematch.”

 

In the SHOWTIME EXTREME co-feature, súper welter Omar “El Businessman”Chávez (33-3-1, 22 KOs), of Culiacan, the younger brother of Chavez, Jr. and son of legendary Julio Cesar Sr., won an exciting, renyit, give-and-take eight-round unanimous decision over Richard Gutierrez (28-16-1, 17 KOs), of Arjona, Colòmbia.

Chavez won by the scores of 78-75 dues vegades i 77-74. There were no knockdowns.

Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32 Nocauts) is the reigning WBC and Ring Magazine middleweight world champion and the first native of Puerto Rico to become world champion in four different weight classes. He is the former WBO junior welterweight world champion, the former WBA welterweight world champion, the former WBO welterweight world champion and the former WBA super welterweight world champion. He also represented Puerto Rico in the 2000 Jocs Olímpics de Sydney, Austràlia. Cotto has had 22 world championship fights, compiling a record of 18-4 amb 15 knockouts in those bouts. In Puerto Rico, he is hailed as a national hero and the successor of Felix Trinidad as the island’s most revered boxer. Geale made his professional debut in Australia in 2004, eventually compiling twenty-one consecutive victories and winning the IBO middleweight title in 2007 against previously undefeated Daniel Dawson (29-0, 20 Nocauts). Brandon Adams i John Thompson won semifinal bouts in the Boxcino 2015 Jr. Middleweight Tournament while Andrey Fedossov i Donovan Dennis scored impressive stoppage victories in the Heavyweight tournament, as all four punched their tickets to the finals in bouts that took place this past Divendres al Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem.
The bouts were televised live on ESPN Divendres Night Fights.
The show was promoted by Banner Promotions, Inc.
The finals of both weight classes will take place on Divendres, Maig 22 at the Omega Products International Outdoor Arena in Corona, California and will be aired live on ESPN Divendres Night Fights.
Brandon Adams lands the uppercut
Adams took out longtime friend Vito Gasparyan in round seven of their scheduled 8-round bout.
Adams worked very well on the inside as he landed some solid shots to the head and landed to the body nicely. Gasparyan hung tough against his one-time sparring partner but the amount of solid punches began to show on Gasparyan and the bout was stopped 35 seconds into round seven with a badly swollen left ear.
Adams, 155 1/2 lbs of Los Angeles moves onto the finals with a record of 17-1 amb 12 nocauts. Gasparyan, 154 lbs of Burbank, CA és ara 15-4-5. Adams will not meet John Thompson.
John Thompson won an 8-round split decision over previously undefeated Stanyslav Skorokhod.
Thompson lands the right hand
Thompson boxed well early as he used his jab to set up three and four punch combinations, while Skorokhod landed some good power shots. Skorokhod was cut around his right eye in round two while Thompson suffered a cut in the same area in round four.
Thompson did well when the fight was in the center of the ring. Skorokhod landed several flush punches but it wasn’t enough as the judges preferred the boxing of Thompson to the tune of 78-74 i 77-75 while Skorokhod won a card 78-74.
Thompson, 154 3/4 lliura de Newark, NJ is now 16-1. Skorokhod, 153 3/4 lbs of Los Angeles via Ukraine is now 9-1.

Dennis landed a thudding straight left that landed flush on the chin of Cojanu and the big man fell flat on the canvas and the bout was stopped 59 seconds into round two.
“I used my speed, quick feet and combinations,” va dir Dennis. “I saw an opening in the first round and then in the second I came with an overhand left that landed right on the button and he crumbled to the canvas.”
The punch was so devastating that it was ESPN Sports Center top play of the night.
On fighting Andrey Fedosov in the finals, “It is going to be a tough fight and I will have to work harder.”

BROOKLYN (Abril 12, 2015) – Lliga de Campions de Boxa a NBC va tornar amb dos baralles emocionants Dissabte nit Danny “Ràpid” García (30-0, 17 KOs) derrotat Lamont Peterson (33-3-1, 17 KOs) per decisió majoritària i “Irlandès” Andy Lee (34-2-1, 24 KOs) i Peter “Kid Xocolata” Quillin (31-0-1, 22 KOs) va lluitar per un empat dividit en Barclays Center.

Speight delighted to secure Home Advantage

26 year old “The Genius” Jamie Speight has a wish come true on 16º Maig 2015 when he co-headlines the massive Goodwin Boxing “Master Class” bill at York Hall defending his Southern Area Featherweight title against Ian Bailey.

 

“I am over the moon at signing with Steve Goodwin” said Jamie “With everything he has done for me so far I could not be happier. This is the first time in years I have not had to go on the road and be the away fighter and have waited to be promoted as the home fighter for so long”.

 

Speight has had an up and down career but being sent as the away fighter meant that to Speight he never had the rub of the green or the advantage given to other fighters. Only two years ago Speight took Josh Warrington the distance in Warrington’s back yard and then subsequently lost a contentious decision to Lewis Pettitt once again in the opponent’s corner.

 

Maig 2014 and Speight once again was in the opponents corner when he stopped Craig Whyatt to win this belt he is now defending but now the time has come for Speight to enjoy home advantage.

 

“I just want a fair crack of the whip and with Steve now in control of my career I know I will get that. I need to win this title as the next day I am flying with the Goodwin team to Turkey for a training camp and that needs to be a celebration.” Speight added “My aim is the British title at Featherweight and provided I keep winning Steve has promised he will deliver that to me.”

 

“This is a tough fight. Ian Bailey does not receive the credit he deserves. Like myself Ian has taken short notice fights and yet stops people with winning records. We have given him 2 months notice so he can prepare as well as myself and may the best man win.”

 

The Speight v Bailey clash is one of 4 50/50 intriguing Southern Area title fights on the bill with 3 masters titles as well making this one of the best non TV shows seen in London for a long time.
