CARLTON, MN. (Maio 18, 2016) – Unbeaten cruiserweight contender Murat “Ferro” Gassiev (23-0, 17 KOs) scored a sensational knockout victory over Jordan Shimmell (20-2, 16 KOs) no evento principal de Premier Boxe dos Campeões TERÇA TOE-de-toe em FS1 e Boxe dos Campeões na Fox DeportesTerça-feira night from Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, MN in the Otter Creek Event Center.
Gassiev delivered a powerful left hook that put Shimmell out on the mat and halted the cruiserweight title elimination bout immediately at 2:54 do primeiro turno. Shimmell was able to move effectively for much of the round and had landed an early combination that got the attention of Gassiev.
The Russian fighter, who now trains in California with Abel Sanchez, was able to start working through the defense of Shimmell with his jab as the round wore on. The final blow came after Gassiev imitated a right hand and delivered the critical left hook while Shimmell was caught counter-punching.
The co-main event of the night saw local favorite Joey “Minnesota Ice” Um sino (32-9, 30 KOs) deliver a dominant performance in knocking out previously unbeaten Wes Nofire (19-1, 15 KOs) in their heavyweight showdown.
The former title challenger bothered Nofire early and often from his southpaw stance and was successful with his left hand throughout the fight. Abell snuck in a strong right hook in round two that stunned Nofire before he delivered multiple left hooks to score the early knockdown.
Nofire tried to weather the storm but a big right hand from Abell again put Nofire down early in the third round. Nofire almost made it out of the round but Abell’s power in the left hand proved to be too much as a series of strong shots sent Nofire down for the final time before his corner stopped the fight.
Abell could hardly miss as he connected on 42 percent of his punches on his way to the stoppage at 2:12 da terceira rodada.

“I just didn’t get the shots I was looking for. I thought I was going to be able to back him up more with my jab. He stayed his distance and lunged in from out of range.
“One of the head butts caught me pretty good and I just couldn’t see what he was coming back with.
“The head butts were giving me problems and he followed up on me after them. He was a little stronger than I expected but I’ve been hit hard like that by other fighters.
“Estou desapontado. I trained really hard for the fight. I’ve never had a problem taking power before. It’s just one of those things that happens in everybody’s career, but I’ll be back.”

LONDRES (Maio 17, 2016) – A heavyweight match-up between Mark ‘The hand of’ Godbeer (11-2) e James Mulheron (8-1) will kick off the televised portion of the highly anticipated “Bellator: London” card when the promotion arrives at the O2 Arena in London on Julho 16. The collision course that the two big men are on will divide the British fans in attendance as the three-round attraction sees Northern UK go head to head with Southern UK, with both men looking for the big KO.

 

The newly-announced scrap joins a star-studded event that features Kimbo Slice (6-2) assumindo James Thompson (20-16) e Josh Koscheck (17-10) contra Paul Daley "Semtex" (38-13-2). Additional matchups include a light heavyweight pairing between Linton “The Swarm” Vassell (16-5) e Francis “Limitless” Carmont (24-11) and British welterweight highlight reel Michael Page "Venom" (9-0) contra Fernando Gonzalez (25-13).

 

Several preliminary matchups have been revealed, including former Big Brother winner Alex Reid (10-9-1-1), who has been scheduled to fight against an opponent to be announced later.

 

After scoring a TKO victory this past Sábado, Godbeer comes into this fight hot on a three-fight winning streak. The exciting heavyweight is known to leave it all on the line, as evidenced by the fact that he has never let a fight go to the judge’s scorecards. For Godbeer it is a welcome second chance with the Bellator promotion. “I personally think Bellator is one of the leading organisations there is today; it’s a great honour to fight for them once again. Last time I fought off of the back of an 18 month lay-off due to a big injury and feel I wasn’t myself, so I’m glad to get another chance to show them the real me.”

 

Both Godbeer and Mulheron are hard-hitting heavyweights with great cardio and athleticism and share a common fight strategy: knock the other guy out. Mulheron won a regional title with the M4TC promotion, and will be competing in Bellator for the first time. “I don’t really go into fights with a game plan,” said Mulheron. “I go in with an open mind. I think every fighter needs to be able to adapt in fights but everyone who watches me knows I come to fight and this fight will be no different.”

 

In the United Kingdom, the event will be broadcast free on SPIKE UK and Channel 5, while in America the card will air FREE on SPIKE. Fedosov of Shuya, Russia is riding a four-bout winning streak and will face upstart Mario Heredia (11-1, 9 KO, 11 KO) viver SHO EXTREME (7 p.m. E/PT) from The Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.I.. The fight precedes a Showtime Championship Boxing tripleheader featuring Ruslan Provodnikov contra John Molina Jr. in a 12-round junior welterweight bout in the main event.

PETERSBURG, Rússia (Maio 17, 2016) – Former M-1 Challenge light heavyweight and middleweight champion Vyacheslav Vasilevsky (28-4-0, M-1: 10-2-0) has stepped up to replace injured Ramadan Emeev contra Alexander “Tempestade” Shlemenko (52-9-0, M-1: 3-0-0) in the final of the M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Tournament, headlining
M-1 Desafio 68, Junho 16 at Yubileyny Sports Palace in St. Petersburg, Rússia.
Emeev (14-3-0, M-1: 8-1-0) suffered a torn ligament in his elbow during training camp. In a M-1 Challenge Grand Prix Middleweight Tournament semifinals match last February, Vasilevsky lost a majority decision to Shlemenko in the M-1 Desafio 64 Luta da Noite.

Invicto Heavyweight “Brutal” Brendan Barrett headlines on Saturday, Junho 4 at Toms River East High School in Toms River, New Jersey

Toms River, NJ (Maio 17, 2016) – Em Sábado, June 4th, pesado invicto,“Brutal”Brendan Barrett will headline a night of professional boxing at the Toms River East High School.

The show is promoted by HITM Promotions.
Barrett de Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey is 4-0-2 with four knockouts and establishing himself as a attraction in New Jersey.
The 6-time MMA champion, has been very active since becoming a full-time boxer as this will be his sixth fight in the last nine months.
He has a disputed draw with Dan Pasciolla and he is coming off an explosive 2nd round stoppage over Alando Pugh on April 29th in Atlantic City.

Most people at ringside believed that Barrett should have been awarded the fight against the undefeated and current Tri-State Heavyweight champion Pasciolla.

Barrett’s opponent will be announced shortly.

The two have been going at it on social media since the bout was being negotiated and the two will settle it in the ring on June 4th.

WOMEN CONTINUE TO EXCEL IN THE NEF MMA CAGE

Lewiston, Maine (Maio 17, 2016) – Just days removed from hosting a “Luta do Ano” candidate in Hyannis, Massachusetts between Kylie O’Hearn (1-0) e Angela Jovem (1-2), Lutas da Nova Inglaterra (NEF) announced that the fight promotion’s cage would host another women’s amateur bout in Lewiston on June 18, 2016. Em “NEF 24: PROMISED LAND,” NEF veteran Alex Walker (0-1) returns to the cage to meet newcomer Nicole Burgess (0-0) in an amateur strawweight bout.

 

Walker arrived in NEF in the spring of 2015 to face Randi Beth Boyington (1-3) in what was the cage debut for both women. Just like O’Hearn and Young did this past weekend in Hyannis, Walker and Boyington stole the show at “NEF 17.” They battled tooth-and-nail for three rounds before Boyington took a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards.

 

Walker is expected to give another “Luta da Noite” performance at “NEF 24” after an injury forced her out of competition for the past year. Those who know her, including her coach and teammates at Team Kaze in Lancaster, New Hampshire, say that Walker lives to fight. Being unable to climb into the cage for so long has made Walker more determined than ever.

 

“I can’t wait to fight in Maine again,” exclaimed Walker when reached for comment. “I had an injury last year, a month after my fight with Randi Beth. I am recovered and ready to go. It killed me to be on the sidelines. I feel like I earned some respect and some fans in Maine and I don’t want to lose that. I am sure this girl will be ready, but she won’t be ready for me! Between life’s hardships, surgery, perdas, and whatever else, I will not quit until I am successful! It would mean a lot to me to get my first W in front of the Maine fans on June 18th!”

 

Standing opposite Walker on Junho 18 will be Nicole Burgess. If the name sounds familiar to NEF fans, it should. She is the sister of NEF MMA fighter Ryan Burgess (2-0). Ryan is the reigning NEF MMA Amateur Flyweight Champion. The undefeated streak of the Burgess family in the NEF cage will be on her shoulders at “NEF 24.”

 

Cidadão, um nativo do México, Maine, wrestled and played field hockey for Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine prior to attending Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire. While at Mountain Valley, she placed three times at states in wrestling. She currently trains with Berserkers MMA.

 

“I’m excited about this opportunity to finally get in the cage,” , disse Burgess. “After seeing my brother win the title at 125, it really amped me up to take this on since I’ve been wrestling with him for years. This will be an opportunity to show people what I’m made of. I’m ready for a fight.”

 

“Women’s fights have stolen the show at three different NEF events in the past year,” stated NEF matchmaker and co-owner Matt Peterson. “This one will be no different. Women’s fights in MMA are not a novelty. From the regional level right up to the UFC, female athletes are excelling to heights unseen in other sports. The sky is the limit for Nicole and Alex. BELLATOR MMA EXTENDS CONTRACT OF STANDOUT BANTAMWEIGHT SUPERSTAR DARRION ‘THE WOLF’ CALDWELL

SANTA MONICA, Califa. (Maio 16, 2016) – Bellator MMA is proud to announce the contract extension of undefeated bantamweight superstar Darrion "O Lobo" Caldwell (9-0) para um exclusivo multi-ano, contrato multi-luta.

 

“Darrion is a fighter who I really think has that x-factor,” said President Scott Coker. “After his last fight, I looked at our matchmaker and I just said, 'Uau, this is kid is exploding with talent.’ I’m very happy we were able to get this deal done and I look forward to seeing this star rise for years to come.”

 

Growing up in New Jersey, Caldwell was a talented, multi-sport athlete who shined the brightest on the wrestling mats. After becoming a three-time high school state champion in New Jersey, “The Wolf” naturally joined “The Wolfpack,” earning a spot on the North Carolina State University wrestling squad. With the Wolfpack, he continued dominate his opponents, winning the NCAA national wrestling championship in 2009.

 

Making his professional MMA debut in 2012, the 28-year-old has looked seemingly unstoppable at times throughout his first nine fights. Em sua última excursão, the six-fight Bellator MMA veteran Caldwell convincingly defeated former two-division Bellator champion, and Greco-Roman world champion wrestler Joe Warren. “Bellator has been nothing but good to me,” Caldwell shared with the MMA Hour this morning. “They saw my talent early on in my career and they came after me… I’m here to let everyone know I’m going to continue my talents at Bellator MMA… With Bellator Jumping on board, it’s time to get married. Caldwell is nothing if not confident in himself, continuing with host Ariel Helwani: “I’ve always been a star, but it’s just been about getting on that platform and Bellator is giving me that opportunity… I don’t think any 135-pounder can see me, ya feel me? Whether its UFC, Bellator, anywhere in the world there isn’t a 135-pounder that can beat me.”
