FLYWEIGHT CHAMPION RETURNS TO THE CAGE ON NOVEMBER 4

POUR DIFFUSION IMMÉDIATE: Lewiston, Maine (Septembre 28, 2016) – He is the reigning NEF Amateur MMA Flyweight Champion, et Vendredi, Novembre 4, Ryan Burgess (2-1) will make his return to the cage following his first taste of defeat.

Burgess will compete at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee on theCES vs. NEF: Suprématie” MMA super-show. The televised portion of the fight card, “CES 39,will air live on AXS TV. Burgess will appear on the non-televised portion of the card, “NEF 26,” où il prendra Tim Flores (3-2).

Bourgeois, a three-time Maine State wrestling champion for Mountain Valley High School, won the flyweight title last November from Dustin Veinott (5-4) in a split-decision. The two met in a rematch in June. Veinott would miss weight, resulting in the bout becoming a non-title affair. Veinott went on to submit Burgess in the second round. Burgess is confident that his coaches at Berserkers MMA will have him prepared to bounce back from the loss.

Flores seems like a tough dude and I’m expecting a gritty opponent,” Saïd Burgess. “Coming off a loss, I am eager to jump back in the cage for NEF and capture another victory. With new coaches in my corner, I will be a new fighter come November 4th, and he will be in for a rough night.

Tim Flores may be a newcomer to the NEF cage, but he is certainly no stranger to the New England MMA community. The Connecticut native was a fixture on Massachusetts fight cards from 2012 à 2014. In the fall of 2013, Flores sent shockwaves through the region with a vicious 18-second knockout of Dan Krall (1-3). Like Burgess, Flores will be looking to rebound from a loss in his last fight, but in doing so he will have to shake off some ring rust as Flores has not competed since the spring of 2014. He now represents Fighting Arts Academy (FAA) de Springfield, Massachusetts.

I have been out of competition for some time, but have been working while gone,” Flores stated. “I’m looking forward to testing my new skills and bettering myself as a fighter.

He is a great athlete with explosive power for a flyweight,” remarked Florescoach Nick Newell. “His skills have gone to the next level since joining FAA.

SANTA FE, NM (Septembre 27, 2016) – Cuba de Yordenis Ugas (17-3, 8 KOs) defeated his second straight unbeaten welterweight Mardi night as he stopped Bryant Perrella(14-1, 13 KOs) in the fourth round on Premier Champions de boxe MARDIS TOE-to-toe sur FS1 et Champions de boxe on FOX Deportesin the main event from Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Ugas defeated previously unbeaten Jamal James in August and dedicated this fight to his friend and fellow Cuban, Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez, who tragically passed away Dimanchemorning in Miami. Ugas was spectacular from the outset as his first overhand right of the night connected with Perrella and sent him to the canvas.
The right hand was there early and all night long,” said Ugas. “I was able to land it from the beginning. Then I went to the body. Before I left my corner to start the fight, I said a prayer for Jose, and for sure that was my motivation. I felt his spirit throughout the fight.
The taller Perrella attempted to control the fight with his jab and looked to land big left hands from the southpaw stance. Ugas was patient throughout the fight and kept his defense tight, never allowing Perrella to break through.
At the end of the third round Ugas landed another big right hand that pushed Perrella into the ropes and forced him into survival mode until the round ended. Perrella tried to get his attack going in the fourth round but Ugas was patiently waiting to deliver powerful counters with the right hand.
Another punishing right hand in the middle of the round sent Perrella hard to the mat and clearly dazed when he rose to his feet. Ugas sensed his moment and attacked Perrella, eventually stalking him into the corner. A final flurry from Ugas forced referee Rocky Burke to halt the bout 2:20 dans la ronde.
This shows that I’ve put all my losses behind me,” said Ugas. “It doesn’t matter who I fight next. I’m ready for anyone in the division.
L'événement co-principal a vu Ryan “Cow-boy” Karl (13-0, 9 KOs) earn a stoppage victory over José Quezada (11-1, 6 KOs) after four rounds of action in the super lightweight showdown. The fight was stopped by the ringside doctor after the end of the fourth round.
Karl established his power advantage early on as the two fighters went toe-to-toe but it was Karl who knocked Quezada to the canvas with a stunning right uppercut and a straight right hand that sent his opponent tumbling to the canvas.
Quezada looked to box against Karl and had his best moments in the third round when he began to land his left hook and throw more combinations. Despite taking a few good shots, Karl came out determined in round four and began landing his right hand at will.
The last minute of the round saw the Houston-based fighter landed a series of right hands that eventually began to swell the left eye of Quezada and sent him to the floor for the second time in the fight as the round ended. Quezada was able to get to his feet and return to his corner, but the ringside doctor had seen enough and called a halt to the bout.
The opening televised bout saw Phoenix’s Cesar Alan Valenzuela (13-4-1, 4 KOs) earn a split decision over previously once-beaten Dennis Galarza (13-2, 8 KOs) in their eight round super featherweight attraction.
From the opening bell both men were determined to establish their offense and they both had bright moments in the round. Galarza landed several right hands early but as the fight wore on, Valenzuela got into his offense and was able to keep Galarza going backwards.
Valenzuela also appeared to be the fresher fighter in the later rounds and he ended the bout with a 398-345 advantage in punches thrown and 136-93 en coups de poing atterri.
Valenzuela’s strongest round came in the final frame when he stunned Galarza with just over a minute left in the round, forcing his opponent to hold on to survive the eight-rounder. The final judges scores were 77-75 for Galarza and 77-75 twice for Valenzuela.

HEAVYWEIGHTS WILL BATTLE FOR SUPREMACY ON NOVEMBER 4 À Lewiston

Lewiston, Maine (Septembre 27, 2016) – SurVendredi, Novembre 4, 2016 at the historic Androscoggin Bank Colisee, Combats Nouvelle-Angleterre (NEF) and Classic Entertainment & Sportif (CES) will team up for a joint super-show featuring the stars of New England’s two most prestigious mixed-martial-arts promotions.

The televised portion of the fight card, “CES 39,will air live on AXS TV. Plus tôt aujourd'hui,, NEF executives announced the first fight scheduled for the non-televised portion of the card, “NEF 26.Maine heavyweights Ras Hylton (2-0) et Kevin Smith (3-2) will collide in a battle of two of the region’s largest mixed-martial-artists.

Standing in at a towering 6’6,and holding a black belt in Taekwondo, undefeated Ras Hylton, has become a quick fan-favorite during his short time in NEF. “Ras-squath,” as he has become known amongst his many fans, made his NEF cage debut in February of this year, downing Zak Bergeron (0-1) just over a minute into the first round of their “NEF 21” bout. Hylton would follow up that performance with a highlight-reel head-kick knockout of Matt Glover (1-1) which will undoubtedly be in the running for “KO de l'année” honors. He is currently a member of First Class MMA based in Brunswick, Maine.

I am looking forward to fighting Kevin Smith 4 novembre,” said Hylton when reached for comment. “Young’s puts out great fighters and I’m sure he will live up to their reputation. The more wins you get, the tougher your opponents are. He will be my strongest challenge in the cage so far.

It has been over two years since Kevin Smith stepped into an MMA cage to compete. Avant cette date, Smith had been undefeated on NEF events. All three of his victories with the promotion were finishestwo by way of submission and one knockout. Like Hylton, Smith has never had to rely on the judges’ tableaux de bord. He is a member of Young’s MMA of Bangor, Maine. During his time off from active cage competition, Smith took stock of his life goals and decided to make a career of mixed-martial-arts.

I knew deep down that fighting is what I was made to do, and I won’t be happy doing a regular job,” shared Smith, “so I put everything aside to focus on this full time and my ultimate goal is to make it to the big show and fight in Bellator or the UFC.
