BROOKLYN (Januari 11. 2017) – Fight week activities officially began today with media workouts at the brand new Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn before the super middleweight title unification showdown between Badou Jack en James DeGale that headlines action this Zaterdag, Januari 14 from Barclays Center in Brooklyn and live on SHOWTIME.

 

Also in attendance and opening the SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast at 9:30 p.m. EN/6:30 p.m. PT are junior lightweight world champion Jose Pedraza and unbeaten contender Gervonta Davis.

Additional televised action will feature super bantamweight world champion Amanda Serrano defending her title against former two-division world champion Yazmin Rivas op Showtime EXTREME. The telecast beings at 7 p.m. EN/PT with a matchup of undefeated middleweights Ievgen Khytrov en Immanuel Aleem.

SANTA MONICA, CALIF. (Januari 10, 2017) – A light heavyweight bout pitting former 205-pound world champion Liam McGeary (11-1) tegen Chris Fields (11-7-1) will serve as the main event of "Bellator 173: McGeary vs. Fields," which will take place inside The SSE Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Vrijdag, Februari 24.

 

"Bellator 173: McGeary vs. Fields” airs on Spike at 9 p.m. EN/8 p.m. CT. Tickets for the event start at just £35 and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.ie, SSEArenaBelfast.com, or the SSE Arena box office.

 

Hailing from Andover, Engeland, the 34-year-old McGeary will make the short trek up to Northern Ireland’s capital for the first time in his career, where he will once again compete in a main event. The former Bellator MMA light heavyweight champion will enter the cage for the 10th time under the Scott Coker-led promotion, where he has posted an 8-1 record with seven finishes. Following an 11-fight winning streak to begin his professional career, McGeary finally experienced the sour taste of defeat, wanneer Phil Davis wrestled the title away from him at ‘Bellator 163.’ McGeary has consistently proven to be one of the most dangerous strikers and submission artists in the 205-pound division, finishing his victim in 10 van 11 career wins, including eight in the opening frame. Much like the “RMS Titanic,” which was built in Belfast, McGeary hopes to sink Fields when the two take center stage inside The SSE Arena on Februari 24.

 

A native of Dublin, Ierland, Fields will also have a short trek to Belfast when he enters the cage on Februari 24. “The Housewives’ Choice” will be making his Bellator MMA debut, following nine years under the direction of local promotions, including three appearances under European powerhouse BAMMA. After competing at middleweight in 2015, the 33-year-old Fields returned to the light heavyweight division, recording a first round submission victory over Dan Konecke at “BAMMA 24.” Fields has tallied finishes in each of his 11 career wins, making him one of the most menacing opponents for anyone standing in his way. Now the SBG Ireland product will look to make a splash in his first fight with Bellator MMA, as he prepares for the former division kingpin.

 

Hailing from nearby Straban, Ierland, the 20-year-old Gallagher is one of the brightest stars in all “The Emerald Island.” At age 15, “The Strabanimal” moved away from home to join Coach John Kavanagh at Straight Blast Gym (SBG), where he now trains alongside the best fighters in the country including Connor McGregor. Having made his Bellator debut in London this past July in London, Gallagher followed up in December with a submission victory over Anthony Taylor in front of a raucous home crowd at the 3Arena in Dublin. Gallagher’s opponent will be announced in the near future.

Tenslotte, Noy’s freedom rests on one final fight, which poses a critical question: Can violent men redeem themselves through violent acts?

 

But while Noy and other inmates fight literally for their freedom, the Prison Fight program has also attracted professional Muay Thai fighters from around the world eager to test themselves in this unique environment. American Cody Moberly of Wichita, Mei., a professional fighter training and competing in Thailand with a redemption story of his own, serves as Noy’s opponent in the final high-stakes fight.

 

The film also focuses on former World Champion boxer “Oh” Sirimongkol Singwangcha, who now runs a training facility on the outskirts of Bangkok. Once considered Thailand’s Manny Pacquiao, “Oh” was convicted of drug possession years earlier, but earned his way to freedom through the Prison Fight system.

Representing Wales, Selby has been referred to as the “Welsh Floyd Mayweather” because of the elusive style and ring generalship that led to him winning his featherweight world championship via a technical decision over Evgeny Gradovich in May 2015. Benavidez will look for his ninth straight victory inside of the distance on January 28.

NEW YORK (Jan. 9, 2017) – The previously announced matchup between undefeated WBA ranked No 3-ranked super bantamweight Adam Lopez and the WBA’s No. 4-gerangschikt Danny Roman has been elevated to a 12-round title eliminator for the WBA (regelmatig) Super Bantamweight belt held by Nehomar Cermeno.

 

Lopez (16-0-1, 8 KO) and Roman (20-2-1, 7 KO) will square off in the most significant fight of their careers in the main event of a ShoBox: The New Generation quadrupleheader op Vrijdag, Jan. 20, live op SHOW TIME (10 p.m. EN/PT, vertraagd op de West Coast) uit Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel and Casino.

Toronto, Canada (Januari 4, 2017) – Anthem Sports & Entertainment Corp. today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire a majority interest in TNA IMPACT Wrestling, and has formed Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC.
