BOYINGTON o HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH RAIO MATSATSI A PELE loantša: “Ke GONNA Kenang ka moo 'me mo timetsa”

NEF_FNVXIII_madeinUSA_FB_final+(1)

Lewiston, Maine (June 10, 2015) - New England ho loana ka (NEF), Amerika oa nomoro ya-e mong o lebatowa ntoa ntshetsopele, tla ahlola eona ea leshome le metso e robeli e tsoakiloeng-sesole-bonono (MMA) ketsahalo, “NEF XVIII: Entsweng ho ya ka AMERICA,” ena Moqebelo bosiu, June 13, 2015 ka Androscoggin Bank Colisee a Lewiston, Maine. Recently, headliners Bruce “Pretty Boy” Boyington (10-8), le NEF MMA Professional bobebe Champion, le John “Pele Class” Ray(2-7) ile NEF khong-mong'a le matchmaker Matt Peterson ka e khethehileng “Head-to-Head” edition of the NEF Podcast. Boyington and Raio discussed the upcoming rematch and the controversy surrounding their first meeting in February 2014, har'a tse ling dihlooho tse.

The interview quickly turned to the top of the first fight. Raio appeared to apply a rear-naked choke to Boyington on the mat late in the first round. Boyington began waving his hand in the air and referee Jimmy Bickford quickly stepped in to stop the fight. Much has been made of the infamous “letsoho le leqhubu.” While Bickford saw it as a sign of Boyington’s submission, Boyington tsekisaneng hore o ne a feela ba a hoehla bo hae Fans a bongata hore tšoara o ne a sa ho etsa leha e le efe tšenyo e.

“Ke ka le bolella joang hore bosiu e ile ea fela,” recalled Raio of the first bout. “Ha e le hantle, Bruce had given me his back. When I took his back, I had the hooks in and I had the rear-naked choke across his jaw line. I was trying to pressure it under his throat, le ha ke ntse ke grabbed ka le letšehali bicep le ka le letšehali letsoho o ne a tla ka mor'a hlooho ea hae, le ref ile a khaotsa ho ntoeng ea ho loanela… Ke ne ke hloletsoe hore o ne a tapped hobane, ka botšepehi, Ke ne ke tseba hore ke ne ke e ngata hatella hae mohlahareng… Haeba a ha e le hantle o ile a tsoka, hore sucks bakeng sa hae.”

“A le boemong boo, Ke ho toba hopola Bickford ho sheba 'na, Ke tobana le fihlela, a etsahalang ka molaleng 'me ke tsoka,” re Boyington. “Mong le e mong qala purumang sebele phahameng le Ke sa hopola Bickford a re, 'Ha ho Bruce, u ka se ke ua re hore '… Haeba u nahana hore ke ho ikokobelletsa kapa ke le mathata kgotsa a ke ke a ho hema, you don’t tell the fighter, “U ka se ke ua re hore,” you just jump in and you stop the fight. I feel like he made a mistake. I feel like he realizes that… Ke bona e ngata fapaneng lintho tse John a se boletseng online translations, le lintho tse ngata tseo batho ba bang ba o ile a re, and that’s when I really started to get bothered by what had happened. I felt like he could’ve handled it better.

Pele ho Boyington ho fana ka ea hae khutlela, many felt he had been winning that first round. Ka 'Nete, Boyington’s striking seemed to be on point that evening. Peterson asked both competitors to speculate on what would have happened had the referee not stopped the bout at that point.

“Joang kapa joang, Ke nahana hore John o ne a tla 'nile ka o ile a kokota tsoa,” stated Boyington emphatically. “Ha ke nahane hore ke gonna gonna romela mo, because that would be his best chance with me. He’s strong enough to defend a submission.

“Ke nahana hore haeba ref aa ka a khaotsa ka nako eo, ha ke ne ke ka hae mohlahareng le ke forearm 'me ke ile fihla ka mor'a molaleng oa hae,” Ray speculated, “I believe my arm would’ve slid under his throat and it would’ve ended sometime soon before the round. E le, Ha ke nahane hore e ne e tla 'nile ka ile go ya bobedi ho pota.”

Matsatsing a, libeke le likhoeli ho latela loana, both Boyington’s and Raio’s massive fan-followings have been very vocal on social media regarding the outcome of the bout. The heated debate has raged between both sides for well over a year now. With so much at stake for each side at “NEF XVIII,” ka bobeli baatlelete ama ka seo katie ho bolela ho ba, le seo ba se hlokang ho paka ena tla mafelo-beke.

“Ke mpa feela ke ka se ke ua tsamaea ho na le le otla John,” re Boyington. “Esita le hae Fans ba lebella hore… Ke sitoa ho feela ea a ho na le ka June bo13and beat John Raio. I gotta go in there and destroy him. Or I still lose out on this fight. Ke tseba seo, and I’m gonna go in there and make that statement. And I’m gonna do it with one arm, hobane tse ling letsoho la e sa esita le ho sebetsa hona joale… I haven’t worried about this date from day one. It’s nothing to do with John Raio. I don’t disrespect the guy. I don’t not like the guy. He’s a good man. I’m just at another level. I need to show up and prove that. That’s what it is to me. It’s not about me beating John. It’s about me showing everybody where I belong.

“A mabapi le Bruce qete 'na ka potlako, le ho etsa ho le bonolo, le ke hlile ke sa ho tšoenyeha mabapi le go lwa le ho hongata haholo, Ke mpa feela ke ba fumana ho le ho hloka tlhompho e le mengata ea lintho a oa re ho 'na, lelapa la ka le metsoalle ea ka e,” replied Raio. “Ho ne ho linako tse ling ka mor'a hore ho qetela loana ha batho ba ne ba congratulating 'na (ho facebook) and he’d go on like a one or two paragraph rant on every single comment everyone had put on my page for like three days straight. LIGHTWEIGHT BATTLE ADDED TO PRO PORTION OF NEF XVIII FIGHT CARD

Lewiston, Maine (Ka 8, 2015) - New England ho loana ka (NEF), Amerika oa nomoro ya-e mong o lebatowa ntoa ntshetsopele, tla ahlola eona ea leshome le metso e robeli e tsoakiloeng-sesole-bonono (MMA) ketsahalo, “NEF XVIII: Made in America,” ka Moqebelo, June 13, 2015 ka Androscoggin Bank Colisee a Lewiston, Maine. Pele ho moo kajeno, the promotion announced the addition of a professional lightweight bout to the fight card. Jese “The Viking” Erickson (4-4) e ho lokiselitsoe ho kopana le Zenon Herrera (0-0) in what will be Herrera’s professional debut.

Erickson is a mainstay of the NEF promotion. The native of Auburn, Maine made his amateur debut at NEF I in February 2012. All fourteen of his bouts have been hosted in the NEF cage except one which was part of an NEF co-promotion with Bellator.

Currently a coach at Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) – a New England United (NEW) affiliate – Erickson challenged unsuccessfully twice last fall for the NEF MMA Lightweight Title, dropping back-to-back losses to Bruce Boyington (10-8). Khoeling e fetileng, Erickson returned to the cage against Florida’s Mark DeFord (0-4). The Viking came out aggressive, not letting up with a barrage of lefts, rights and knees. It was a departure from Erickson’s trusted ground game, but it took less than two minutes for him to knock DeFord out cold. If Erickson was looking to make a statement, then that statement was received loud and clear by the raucous crowd of over 2,000.

After back to back losses, I’ve really focused in on some of my weak points,” said Erickson. “Ka ho qetela ntoa, I felt much more confident and relaxed, and I think it showed in my performance. I will continue to get better and show everyone the fighter I’ve always known I could be. I’ll never fight safe, try to eke out a decision, or have a boring fight. Come watch me fight and see something special. The Viking is back and he’s swinging Thor’s hammer now.

Zenon Herrera, an independent fighter based out of Skowhegan, Maine, began his MMA amateur career in the fall of 2012. Having fought predominantly in Florida previously, he made his NEF debut last month at “NEF XVII” in a losing effort to a very tough Ricky Dexter (3-0). Herrera is a military veteran, having served four years in the United States Army and five years in the United States Marine Corps. He looks forward to making the transition from the amateur to professional ranks and the new challenges it will bring.

I’m very much looking forward to this chance of taking myself to the next level of MMA,” re Herrera. “Jesse Erickson is a tough dude and that will make this match all the better. I’m also looking forward to representing the NEF, Macho Fighter, Combatives Gear, and the USMC with all of the pride and honor that they deserve with everything I do in MMA from this point forward.

Dexter, currently the top-nine-ranked amateur lightweight in New England, is coming off a first-round submission victory over Zenon Herrera (3-6) last Saturday at “NEF XVII.” Dexter has taken the promotion’s lightweight division by storm since debuting last November. He has stopped all three of his opponents in the first round to earn his shot at becoming the first NEF MMA Amateur Lightweight Champion.

I’m honored to be fighting for the NEF Lightweight Amateur Title,” stated Dexter. “To me there’s a lot more on the line than just a belt. Ka June bo13 you better believe I’m bringing it.

When fans last saw Josh Harvey in the NEF cage, he had his arm raised in victory after mauling Caleb Hall (5-2) in the amateur opener of “NEF XVI” sena se fetileng February. It took Harvey a mere 36-seconds to run through Hall, himself a two-time state wrestling champion for Dirigo High School in Dixfield, Maine. Many insiders believe this will be one of Harvey’s final amateur fights before turning professional.

“Two top fighters from two top schools, this is a match to be excited about,” stated Harvey when reached for comment. “I have all the respect in the world for Ricky, but there is no where this fight goes that I don’t win.”
