NEW CHAMPIONS CROWNED AT NEF 22 IN LEWISTON

The headliner of the amateur MMA card saw Kaleb Hall (7-3) captured the vacant amateur featherweight title with a second-round submission of Erik Nelson (2-3). On the professional side of the MMA card, Devin Powell (6-1) took home the lightweight championship by defeating Jesse Erickson (6-5) in the first round via technical knockout.

Glover won a 2011 state championship wrestling for Mountain Valley High School in Rumford, Maine.

Currently a coach at Central Maine Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (CMBJJ) – a New England United (NEW) affiliate – Erickson challenged unsuccessfully twice last fall for the NEF MMA Lightweight Title, dropping back-to-back losses to Bruce Boyington (10-8). Herrera is a military veteran, having served four years in the United States Army and five years in the United States Marine Corps.
