LANCASTER, CALIF. (Mei 31, 2018) – Rugged veteran heavyweight Travis Kauffman zal op zich te nemen Scott Alexander in a 10-round bout that headlines Premier Boxing Champions op FS1 and FOX Deportes action that features three heavyweight showdowns on Sunday, Juni 10 from Pioneer Event Center in Lancaster, Californië.

“Travis Kauffman doesn’t back down from anyone and there’s no doubt he’ll be looking to make a statement against Scott Alexander on Sunday, June 10,” zei Tom Brown, President van TGB Promotions. “It’s an interesting time in the heavyweight division and all the winners on this card will figure into the picture in a prominent way in the future.”

 

 

 

Kauffman (31-2, 23 KO) will look to boost his own contender credentials with a win after most recently dropping a close majority decision to Amir Mansour last March in Kauffman’s hometown of Reading, Pennsylvania. Kauffman had entered that bout with a 14 vechten ongeslagen streak, including dropping Chris Arreola in a fight that resulted in a no contest and a knockout of former title challenger Epifanio Mendoza.

 

 

 

“I am excited to get back in the ring,” zei Kauffman. “I have not been in the ring in a year and a half and I can’t wait to go in there and show that I still have a lot left. I am not going in there to win by decision. I am going in there looking to knock him out, because I am tired of leaving it up to the judges.”

 

 

 

The 29-year-old Alexander (14-2-2, 8 KO) has put together two straight victories since losing to LaRon Mitchell by unanimous decision in 2016. Uitvechten van Los Angeles, Alexander is noted for his fast hands, and scored a TKO victory over Pedro Julio Rodriguez in his last fight on March 3.

A U.S. Navy veteran who also played tight end and defensive end at the University of Southern California, Washington (18-2-1, 12 KO) will step into the ring looking to score a bounce back victory on June 10. Washington was stopped in his world title challenge last February against Deontay Wilder on FOX, although he was nearly even on the scorecards at the time, before losing a bout to unbeaten Jarrell Miller in July. Prior to those fights, Washington had been unbeaten in 19 pro fights with victories over a slew of veteran contenders.

Kiladze (26-2, 18 KO) was riding a six-bout winning streak into his January matchup with unbeaten Adam Kownacki that ended with Kiladze losing in six rounds. Representing the country of Georgia and now fighting out of Los Angeles, Kiladze will be in his fifth fight as a full time heavyweight on June 10.

CARLTON, MN. (Mei 18, 2016) – Unbeaten cruiserweight contender Murat “Ijzeren” Gassiev (23-0, 17 KO) scored a sensational knockout victory over Jordan Shimmell (20-2, 16 KO) in het main event van Premier Boxing Champions TOE-tot-teen DINSDAG op FS1 en Boksen Champions op FOX DeportesDinsdag night from Black Bear Casino Resort in Carlton, MN in the Otter Creek Event Center.
Gassiev delivered a powerful left hook that put Shimmell out on the mat and halted the cruiserweight title elimination bout immediately at 2:54 van de eerste ronde. Shimmell was able to move effectively for much of the round and had landed an early combination that got the attention of Gassiev.
The Russian fighter, who now trains in California with Abel Sanchez, was able to start working through the defense of Shimmell with his jab as the round wore on. The final blow came after Gassiev imitated a right hand and delivered the critical left hook while Shimmell was caught counter-punching.
The co-main event of the night saw local favorite Joey “Minnesota Ice” Een bel (32-9, 30 KO) deliver a dominant performance in knocking out previously unbeaten Wes Nofire (19-1, 15 KO) in their heavyweight showdown.
The former title challenger bothered Nofire early and often from his southpaw stance and was successful with his left hand throughout the fight. Abell snuck in a strong right hook in round two that stunned Nofire before he delivered multiple left hooks to score the early knockdown.
Nofire tried to weather the storm but a big right hand from Abell again put Nofire down early in the third round. Nofire almost made it out of the round but Abell’s power in the left hand proved to be too much as a series of strong shots sent Nofire down for the final time before his corner stopped the fight.
Abell could hardly miss as he connected on 42 percent of his punches on his way to the stoppage at 2:12 van de derde ronde.
In de opening aanval, St. Louis heavyweight Stephan Shaw (7-0, 5 KO) earned a shutout unanimous decision over Washington, D.C.’s Danny Kelly (9-3-1, 8 KO) in their six-round bout.
Shaw controlled the action with superior boxing skills and strong combinations throughout the fight. Kelly had some success targeting the body of Shaw but was unable to maintain a consistently effective attack.
The punch stats were in line with the judges’ scores van 60-54 as Shaw out landed Kelly 95 naar 56 while connecting at 34 percent mark to Kelly’s 23 procent.

“I was trying to set up the final punch. I imitated the right overhand so that I could come back with the left hook. It was a combination that we practiced.

“I’ve trained hard and been improving my skills. I’m going to work and get ready for my title shot.
“I am extremely happy he got up and I hope he is okay. I never want to hurt anybody; I just want to win the fight.”

“Ik heb gevangen. Gassiev has power. It was a clean shot and I got hit, it is what it is.
“He’s a really good fighter with power. I’ll be back. It was a learning experience.”
JOEY ABELL
“I did this for myself. I wanted so see where I was at. I’m a different fighter when I have time to train.
“I’m going to give it some time to think about the next step. Right now I want to fight for the rest of my life, but if I got beat It would be different.
“This is exactly what I planned. I thought I might get him in the first round but I took my time. My punches were sharp. There were times in the past where I felt my timing was off but I’m in great shape so I wasn’t thinking about getting tired.”
WES NOFIRE
“I just didn’t get the shots I was looking for. I thought I was going to be able to back him up more with my jab. He stayed his distance and lunged in from out of range.
“One of the head butts caught me pretty good and I just couldn’t see what he was coming back with.
“The head butts were giving me problems and he followed up on me after them. He was a little stronger than I expected but I’ve been hit hard like that by other fighters.
“Ik ben teleurgesteld. I trained really hard for the fight. I’ve never had a problem taking power before. It’s just one of those things that happens in everybody’s career, but I’ll be back.”
STEPHAN SHAW
“I felt great in there. It felt good to be victorious in my first fight on PBC. I fought a guy with a lot of experience and did what I had to do.
“I’m the best kept secret in America. That’s my motto.”
DANNY KELLY
“I started too late. I was working behind my jab but I didn’t do enough behind it. Ik gaf het mijn alles.

A fast-rising 22-year-old contender, Gassiev is undefeated since turning pro in 2011 and has delivered three straight stoppage victories since making his stateside debut in January 2015. Meest recent, he earned a no contest in a December fight with fellow unbeaten Isiah Thomas after Thomas was ruled unable to continue due to a blow from Gassiev deemed after the bell. Vertegenwoordigen Vladikavkaz, Rusland, the Abel Sanchez-trained fighter owns victories over the previously unbeaten Leon Harth and veterans Felix Cora Jr., Ismail Adbdoul en Levan Jomardashvili.
The 27-year-old Shimmell is a former amateur standout who became the first heavyweight to win four Michigan Golden Gloves titles. The Hudsonville-native won his first 19 pro bouts before dropping a decision to fellow unbeaten Isiah Thomas but rebounded with a victory over Willis Lockett in February of this year. He owns victories over a slew of veterans including Damon McCreary, Epifanio Mendoza, Galen Brown and Jonathan Corn.

MIAMI (November 25, 2015) – Super weltergewicht wereldkampioen en Cubaanse sensatieErislandy “The American Dream” Lara (22-2-2, 13 KO) verdedigde met succes zijn titel tegen voormalig wereldkampioen en de Sloveense Jan Zaveck (35-4, 19 KO) in een Premier Boxing Champions op ESPN voorstelling van Miami Hialeah Park Racing & Casino.
Wijten aan het weer in de regio, het belangrijkste evenement werd verplaatst naar de strijd gebeurd zorgen. Vanaf de opening bel, Lara controleerde de actie van de landing zware klappen. “Ik ben erg blij om terug te vechten in de Miami gebied. Dit is mijn eerste keer terug te vechten hier al sinds 2009 en ik ben blij dat ik in staat was om op een goede show voor de fans om te zetten. Ik ben erg dankbaar voor de manier waarop ze kwamen om mij te steunen vanavond.
“ik raakte (Zaveck) met een geweldig schot aan de kin en bevroor zijn hele lichaam. Hij klaagde over pijn in zijn oor en zijn been, maar de bottom line is dat ik kreeg de overwinning.
“Ik zal iedereen geconfronteerd willen ze voor me te zetten op 154 lbs, tenzij het Canelo (Alavarez) of (Miguel) Gekookt. Dan zullen we om te gaan 160 lbs.”

“Ik heb momenteel een scherpe pijn gaan van mijn nek naar mijn schouder aan de rechterkant.
“Ik wist dat ik zou kunnen proberen om te vechten op en het land een lucky punch, maar dat was een kleine kans en het was waarschijnlijk beter om te stoppen en te vechten een andere dag.
“Ik voelde me goed in daar vóór die. Ik heb geprobeerd om hem te verrassen door te vechten hem in nauwe, maar ik was het nemen van te veel stoten en hij heeft een zeer goede kracht.
“Ik heb nog nooit gewond geraakt als dit voor. Het is heel vreemd. De pijn is stijgende.”
