MIS: Showtime Sport® Emmy-award winning reporter Jim Gray sat down with the fathers of Danny Garcia ja Shawn Porter as the two former world champions prepare to meet September 8 for the vacant WBC Welterweight World Championship on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING.

 

Angel Garcia ja Kenny Porter, who both also serve as their sons’ trainers, are asked by Gray how they react when they watch their sons take punishment in the ring.

 

 

 

“As a dad, I have to separate the boxing,” Angel Garcia said. “So when Danny’s in there I’ve got to look at him as a coach. I can’t look at it as a dad.”

 

 

 

Said Kenny Porter: “As a former boxer, I felt what it’s like to be in that ring… So I feel differently when he’s in the ring. I have a more competitive spirit towards winning than maybe someone who’s kid is in there and they’re looking at whether the kid is getting injured. I’m looking at it like, let’s win.”

 

 

 

Gray gets Porter and Garcia to open up about challenges, regrets and the aspirations they’ve carried for their progeny both in the ring and outside of it. “I do [have regrets],” Angel Garcia said. “I said my faults. I’m not perfect.”

 

 

 

Angel called himself the “most underrated trainer” in boxing today, and Danny the “most underrated fighter.”

 

 

 

At the end of the interview, Kenny unveils a Garcia “DSG” T-shirt that reads: “Showtime Destroys Garcia” and both fathers shared a big laugh.

SHOWTIME Sports® provides a glimpse into the mindsets of Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter as the two former world champions met face-to-face last week in New York City to officially announce their September 8 bout for the vacant WBC Welterweight World Championship, elada Showtime (9 Pärastlõunal. Boxing For The World 5K Run a Success in Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico (Juuli 30, 2018) – Last Sunday (July 22nd) in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Boxing For The World staged a 5K run, which served as a fundraiser for The Make A Wish Foundation of Puerto Rico facility . The facility (kodus) houses children with Cancer and other terminal illnesses. The facility sustained major damages due to Hurricane Maria .

 

 

 

The main sponsor was the WBC and their WBC Cares program.

 

 

 

No less than 20 of the greatest fighters in Puerto Rico took part in the walk such as:

Also on hand was Trinidad’s mother, Dona Irma, who served over a 1000 bowls of her famous chicken broth.

The building is vital for those children in need, and we are on our way to rehabbing the facility after the terrible damage it sustained during the hurricane. The WBC really came through, and really was a huge help to this fundraiser.” said Simmons.

 

 

 

“WBC did a great thing. I informed them that Daniel Alicea’s WBC Continental belt and NABF belt were stolen from him house while he was undergoing chemotherapy. Kandma (28-2-1, 17 Kos) owns victories over four-division champion Adrien Broner and two-division champion Paulie Malignaggi over a career that has seen him develop a reputation as one of the sport’s most reliable all-action attractions. He lost a narrow decision to unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman in a 2016 Fight of the Year candidate in Brooklyn but rebounded with two victories last year at Barclays Center. He scored a TKO victory against former welterweight champion Andre Berto in a welterweight title eliminator and followed it up with a 12-round decision over Adrian Granados.

 

 

 

The 30-year-old Porter, who was born in Akron, Ohio and now lives in Las Vegas, will fight at Barclays Center for the fifth time on September 8, including his title-winning performance against Devon Alexander that earned him the IBF title in 2013.

SAN ANTONIO, TX (Juuli 3, 2018) – Undefeated female sensation, Selina “Asteekide Queen” Ümbruskond (3-0, 1 KO), returns to the ring this Saturday night, Juuli 7, 2018, as the main event in Corpus Christi, Texas, in the well-established American Bank Center Water Garden Room, bringing a loaded card of fistic fury.

Ümbruskond, who owns the NABF lightweight title, which she won in her 3rd professional bout, ees Aida “Lady Sparta” Satybaldinova (3-0-1) alates Astana, Kasahstan, best known as the “Female GGG”, and is the current WBF International Lightweight Champion. Both girls are undefeated and hold titles as lightweights. Barrios is also rated #18 in the world by the WBC (World Boxing Nõukogu). This bout will be held over 8 vooru.

This bout is promoted by Reyna Promotions Corpus Christi. The promoters were looking for a first-class main event and landed a fight that is a solid television fight. The local ABC-TV affiliate (KSAT) in San Antonio will be in Corpus to broadcast this fight live and stream it across the internet. Female and male fight fans across the world that know these two pugilists will be tuning in to watch an action-packed fight as both warriors step forward and throw punches without grabbing and holding or running. Barrios and Satybaldinova are both guaranteeing a knockout.

“Selina has never been pressured in a boxing ring with a fighter like myself,” said the WBF Champ Satybaldinova. “I’m a pressure fighter that will take two punches to throw one bomb, and I feel I will be too strong for her. I do know I don’t have to look for Selina and have watched her fights. She stands and fights, which is made to order for me,”

Selina shoots back stating, “I have watched Aida’s videos and her comments about coming into my area of south Texas where I’m from, and saying she is going to knock me out, infuriates me.
