M-1 Challenge 65 rescheduled from March 4 tot April 8 in St. Petersburg, Russia Due to scheduling conflict

ST. PETERSBURG, Rusland (Februarie 15, 2016) – M-1 Global has announced that M-1 Challenge 65 has been rescheduled from March 4 tot April 8 by Ice Palace Sports Centre in St.. Petersburg, Rusland.
The Ice Hockey World Championships will be held this May in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Many sports venues in St. Petersburg are closed in March due to renovations, resulting in the switched date for M-1 Challenge 65.

The main event pits three-time Bellator champion Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko(51-9-0, M-1: 2-0-0) and former M-1 Challenge middleweight and light heavyweight titlist Vyacheslav Vasilevsky (27-3-0, M-1: 10-1-0) in the semifinals of the M-1 Global Grand Prix Middleweight Tournament.

“We’ve been preparing this a long time and now we’re happy to officially announce our 2016 M-1 Grand Prix Tournament,” Finkelchtein said. “This has been a very popular format and fans are always excited about it. This time we will feature a 4-man tournament, rather than the usual 8-man pairings, because the 4-man version is faster and more entertaining. MOSCOW (April 11, 2015) – Voormalige M-1 Challenge middelgewigkampioenDruk Emeev (12-3-0) recaptured the coveted title from defending championVyacheslav Vasilevsky (26-3-0) in last night’s M-1 Challenge 56 main event in Moscow, Rusland.

 

Emeev used a perfectly executed rear-naked choke to defeat Vasilevsky by submission at the 1:47 punt van die eerste ronde.

 

Vasilevsky had taken title belt from Emeev this past September 7 in St. Petersburg byM-1 Challenge 51: Fightspirit with a fourth-round stoppage from punches in the first showdown between the two Russian fighters. A Vasilevsky-Emeev rematch was a natural from the moment their first fight ended and now there is a potential trilogy match.

The 27-year-old Emeev, who lives and trains in Makhachkala, Rusland, originally won the vacant M-1 Challenge middleweight title April 9, 2012, recording a knockout (stakings) van Mario Miranda (14-4-0) in die derde ronde teen M-1 Challenge 38. Emeev successfully defended his title five months later with a five-round decision over Miranda in a rematch and he hadn’t fought since losing to Vasilevsky.

Croatian heavyweight Voordat “Stap Trouble” Delia (13-2-0) won a hard fought three-round decision over Latvian veteran Konstantin “Lacplesis” Gluhova (28-16-0).

Spanish liggewig Javier Fuentes (6-0-0) het sy perfekte rekord ongeskonde, winning a second-round technical submission of Nikolay “Kat” Kaushansky (6-2-0), van Rusland, by way of a triangle choke.

In preliminary fight action, Russiese liggewig Ali Abdulkhalikov (3-0-0) needed only 34-seconds to knockout Spain’s Joel Alvarez Gonzalez (4-1-0) with a spinning heel kick in a battle of previously unbeaten fighters, Alexey “Opdrag” Makhno (9-3-0) stopped fellow Russian lightweight Rakhman Makhazhiev (3-2-0) with a punch in the third round, Abukar Yandiev (3-0-0) locked in a rear naked choke hold to submit fellow Russian middleweight Gevorg Charchyan (1-1-0) midway through the opening round.
