FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22LFA 197: KUZIUTINA vs. GUIMARÃES Presented By: MONSTER ENERGY MAIN EVENT: CHAMPION NATASHA KUZIUTINA vs. CHALLENGER YASMIN GUIMARÃES INTERIM WOMEN’S STRAWWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT LIVE on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT LAS VEGAS, Nevada — LFA CEO Ed Soares announced today that the promotion will return to Brazil in November with a Championship Headliner at LFA 197. In the main event, the interim women’s strawweight title will be on the line. This will be the nineteenth LFA event to take place in Brazil after the promotion’s international expansion began in the summer of 2021. This will also be the twelfth LFA event to take place in the state of São Paulo, which is Brazil’s most populous state. LFA has also visited the Brazilian states of Rio de Janeiro and Pernambuco. LFA 197: Kuziutina vs. Guimarães, presented by Monster Energy, takes place Friday, November 22nd at the Ginásio do Polvilho in Cajamar, São Paulo, Brazil. The main event will feature an interim women’s strawweight title fight when interim champion Natasha “Kuzya” Kuziutina defends her title against top contender Yasmin Guimarães. The entire main card will be available worldwide on UFC FIGHT PASS® at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT. “We are excited to bring another world-class title fight to Brazil,” stated Soares. “We have an incredible fan base in São Paulo and throughout Brazil, which is the birthplace of modern day MMA. The country will now host two of our biggest international stars in the main event of LFA 197. Natasha Kuziutina is a three-time Olympian in Judo and the first woman from Russia to win an LFA title. She will defend her interim women’s strawweight title for a second time against Brazilian star and Muay Thai standout Yasmin Guimarães. The winner will get a chance to unify the title against current champion Rose Conceição early next year.” Kuziutina (6-1) is the first woman from Russia to win an LFA title, and once again, she is looking to do something that has never been done. That will happen if she is able to defend her LFA interim women’s strawweight title for a second time as she and Jaqueline Amorim are currently tied with one title defense a piece. Kuziutina won the title by defeating five-time IBJJF champion Giovanna Canuto at LFA 173. She then defended her title for the first time in August by defeating longtime Bellator standout Bruna Ellen in the main event of LFA 189. Prior to her MMA success, Kuziutina enjoyed an incredible Judo career and is now the most decorated judoka to ever compete in the strawweight division of MMA. She has represented Russia at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 (took place in 2021) Summer Olympics. It was at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, where she earned an Olympic bronze medal. She now heads back to Brazil for her second title defense making her the first woman to headline LFA events on two continents. Guimarães (8-1) is a decorated MMA and Muay Thai fighter that has built her world-class skill set by competing around the globe. The Brazilian dynamo built her name and reputation by competing successfully in both sports throughout Europe and the Middle East. In that time, she has competed twice for KSW, which is a leading MMA promotion in Europe. She has also competed and trained in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and her home country of Brazil. This includes challenging for the WBC Muay Thai super-bantamweight title. After competing around the world in multiple disciplines at flyweight and bantamweight, the proud Carioca returned home to Rio de Janeiro in May, where she made her debut in the strawweight division in the main event of LFA 183. Guimarães was triumphant that night by handing top prospect Naizi Cantanhede the first loss of her career. She now looks to capture LFA gold, while defending home turf, as Brazilians have never lost an LFA main event in Brazil. Mexican quartet of undefeated pro Boxing prospects to be showcased
Streaming Live & Exclusively from Mexico, Mar. 24th on UFC FIGHT PASS®
LAS VEGAS (March 15, 2022) – Mexican boxing’s future will be on full displayed March 24th on RJJ Boxing card, showcasing an undefeated quartert of professional boxing prospects, at Palenque de la Feriz in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico.
Presented by Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions (RJJ Boxing) in association with De La O Promotions, World Cup Boxing Series (WCBS) and Team Cruz Promotions, the action will be streamed live and exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS®, the world’s leading digital subscription service for combat sports, starting at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT. To sign-up for UFC FIGHT PASS, please visit www.ufcfightpass.com.
The RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS event is part of the 40th Nayarit National Festival, which is celebrated between March 10 and 27. The festival displays the cultural identity of Nayarit, like the Indigenous community, also providing entertainment by offering regional artists at national and international events. It attracts between 20,000 and 30,000 people each day of the festival.
The four 19-year-old Mexican fighters have a combined pro record of 24-0 (15 KOs): lightweights Jorge “Jorgito” Lugo Cota (7-0, 5 KOs) and Marco Cota Moreno (5-0, 4 KOs), as well as twin Tepic brothers, featherweight Hector “Tigre” Perez Cruz (6-0, 5 KOs) and super featherweight Paolo “Leon” Perez Cruz (6-0, 5 KOs).
The Mexican quartet had an incredible 470-24 amateur record: Lugo (155-15), Moreno (146-4), Pablo (86-2) and Hector (83-3) Cruz.
“These young men are the future of boxing in Mexico,” RJJ Boxing’s veteran matchmaker Guy Taylor said. “I have never had four undefeated boxers with nearly 500 combined amateur victories, all under the age of 20, fighting on the same card as this.”
Cota, who has become a semi-regular fighting on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS shows, is matched against Ricardo “Palmito” Badillo Rodriguez (7-2-2, 1 KO), of Tepic, in a 6-round match. Cota is the youngest member of the famed Mexican fightin’ Montiel family, led by 3-division world champion Fernando Montiel.
Moreno was a decorated amateur boxer who captured five-Sonora State championship titles. He will meet Jonathan Zuniga (6-3, 3 KOs) in a 4-round fight.
The Cruz twins are slated to fight in 6 and 4 round bouts, respectively, Hector versus crosstown rival Victor “Tyson” Tadeo Rodriguez (2-0, 2 KOs), and Paolo vs. TBA (off-UFC FIGHT PASS).
The RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS 8-round main event finds hometown favorite Salvatore “Chango” Tapia (12-3-1, 10 KOs), the former WBC FECOMBOX super lightweight champion, and lightweight Emiliano “Letal” Cruz (13-3, 12 KOs) in a potentially explosive battle between Mexican knockout artists who have combined for 22 knockouts in their 25 victories (88-percent win percentage).
In the co-featured event, WBO Latino Super Middleweight Champion Lester Martinez (10-0, 9 KOs) returns on the RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS platform in a non-title fight. The WBO No. 14-rated Martinez, who fights out of Guatemala City, Guatemala, figures to be tested in an 8-round bout by Jose Luis “El Caras” Zuniga (16-6-1, 9 KOs), the former Mexico Super Welterweight Champion.

2022 “Fantasy Fights” series
Undefeated welterweights Santiago “Somer” Dominguez vs. Michael “Boy Wonder 150%” Williams, Jr.
(This is the first story in a short “Fantasy Fights” series about boxers who fought in 2021 on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS cards to be matched next year in potentially explosive fights on the same platform.)
LAS VEGAS (November 16, 2021) – Arguably Mexico’s No. 1 welterweight, Santiago “Somer” Dominguez (25-0, 19 KOs), against Michael “Boy Wonder 150%” Williams, Jr. (19-0, 12 KOs) is the first RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS’s “Fantasy Fights” potential showdown for the same live streaming platform in 2022.
UFC FIGHT PASS® is the world’s leading digital subscription service for combat sports, on which RJJ Boxing has streamed live and exclusively for the past three years. To sign up for UFC FIGHT PASS, please visit www.ufcfightpass.com.
“Throughout the long, rich history of boxing,” veteran RJJ Boxing matchmaker Guy Taylor explained the genesis of ‘Fantasy Fights,’ “fans have always asked, ‘What would happen if these two ever fought each other.’ You couldn’t ask for a more polar opposite match-up than Santiago Dominguez and Michael Williams, Jr.”
Dominguez vs. Williams, Jr. is a classic contrast of styles, featuring a pair of gifted, undefeated welterweights seemingly on the verge of stardom.
RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS has helped boxers develop their skills in highly competitive matches, in addition to providing invaluable exposure worldwide, since 2019 despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
The heavy-handed Dominguez, who is a former NABF Welterweight Champion and past No. 15-rated in the world, stopped former WBA World title challenger Jesus “Chino” Antonio Rubio (13-4, 7 KOs) for the vacant WBC Latino strap in the October 15th main event in Mexico. It was Dominguez’ only fight in nearly a year because he needed to give his body a break. Dominguez improved to 5-0 (4 KOs) fighting career-wise on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS.
The 22-year-old Williams, fighting out of Fayetteville, North Carolina, is trained by living legend Roy Jones, Jr. Last March in Biloxi, Mississippi, Williams defeated Starr Johnson, who couldn’t continue after the opening round. Williams improved to 2-0 (2 KOs) on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS.
“Santiago is a throwback Mexican fighter, who stands 5’ 8” and was born in Ciudad Obregon Sonora, Mexico, just like his hero, the great Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.,” Taylor added. “Williams, Jr. is a flashy, fast-footed boxer with lightning-quick hands who stands 6’ 1”. To put that in context for a welterweight, Michael is the same height as Hall of Famer Thomas ‘Hitman’ Hearns. Williams is also trained by arguably the greatest all-around fighter, Roy Jones. Jr.”
“This is a fight that can easily be made given the status of both fighters from RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS. I truly feel that, stylistically, there is no better match-up in 2022 than an undefeated, power-punching Mexican against an undefeated, slick, counter puncher from the United States. And they are both approaching their prime.”

Newest MMA promotion Ikon fighting federation to launch september 24 in mississippi
Streaming Live and Exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS®
LAS VEGAS (August 10, 2020) – Veteran combat sports promoter Keith Veltre has announced the debut of MMA’s newest promotional company, iKON Fighting Federation (iKON), September 24 at Biloxi Civic Center in Biloxi, Mississippi.
All iKON events, held in association with Roy Jones, Jr. (RJJ) Boxing Promotions, will be streamed live on UFC FIGHT PASS®, the world’s leading digital subscription service for combat sports.
Veltre, who also announced the hiring of Dean Toole as iKON’s matchmaker, is the CEO and co-founder of RJJ Boxing Promotions and Kinektic submission grappling, both streaming events exclusively on UFC FIGHT PASS.
“I have always lived by the motto, when businesses are downsizing during tough times, I either acquire or expand,” Veltre said. “I take advantage of times like this to rollout new adventures and MMA has always been in my game plan. I have always attached myself to a great team and bringing in Dean Toole as lead matchmaker was a no brainer, and I promise Ikon will deliver fireworks. I am thankful to have a great broadcast partner, UFC FIGHT PASS, and we’re excited to launch our first Ikon event with UFC FIGHT PASS on September 24th.”
Toole added, “Being the founder and CEO of Island Fights, on UFC FIGHT PASS, it sometimes gets overlooked that I’m also the matchmaker for all of our professional events. I couldn’t be happier for this opportunity to continue doing what I’m best at and matchmake fights for iKON Fighting Federation.
“I had the privilege of being hired by Keith Veltre and UFC FIGHT PASS in December for the Quinet Ultra event and I think they liked working with me and my staff. I hope we made a good impression. I’m very excited to get started and do what we do best and that’s get these athletes to UFC.”
Full details and matchups will soon be announced.
