“I’m in camp training hard for another thriller at home against a pressure fighter in Mahonry Montes,” said James. “I’m going to use my height, range and skills to show that I’m hungry and keeping my eyes on the prize. Once I get past Montes, a big name is going to have to fight me. I’m right on the road to a world title challenge.”

 

 

 

The 28-year-old Montes (35-7-1, 24 KOs) has challenged everyone from world champions to top rising prospects throughout his pro career and enters this bout having scored knockout victories in consecutive fights. Representing Sinaloa, Μεξικό, Montes owns a victory over welterweight contender Francisco Santana in a fight last year that saw Montes drop his opponent on the way to a decision victory.

 

 

 

“I’m am so excited to have this opportunity against Jamal James,” said Montes. “My last loss was unfortunate because I thought I had my opponent hurt, but I’ve picked up a couple of wins since then and have been training very hard. I’m ready to show everyone that I belong with the best fighters in the world. I’m never in a bad fight and I’m going to show the fans in Minnesota how a real Mexican fights.”

 

 

 

A two-time title challenger, Monroe (22-3, 6 KOs) has faced current titlists Gennady Golovkin and Billy Joe Saunders in his forays into championship fights. The 31-year-old from Rochester, New York has defeated Gabriel Rosado, Brian Vera and John Thompson since 2015 to earn multiple opportunities at the middleweight title. Monroe most recently won a dominant decision over Carlos Galvan in March.

 

 

 

Fighting out of Virginia, Aleem (18-1-1, 11 KOs) stopped Juan De Angel in the sixth-round of their May fight to get back in the win column after his first defeat in a bout against Hugo Centeno Jr last August. The 24-year-old had stopped then unbeaten Ievgen Khytrov in the sixth round of a January 2017 fight that became a Fight of the Year nominee prior to the Centeno fight.

 

 

 

Η 23-year-old Clark (13-0, 7 KOs) has used his height and reach to establish himself as a fast-rising prospect on his way to contender status. The Cincinnati-native had two impressive victories in 2017, first defeating then unbeaten Ivan Golub and then a decision victory over Domonique Dolton last November as he came out victorious against his toughest pro opponent so far.

 

Κομπολόι (15-1-1, 11 KOs) fights out of Miami but is originally from the Dominican Republic. Rosario suffered his first defeat last year at the hands of Nathaniel Gallimore, but has rebounded to be undefeated in his last four fights. This run has seen the 23-year-old fight to a draw with Mark Anthony Hernandez in February before defeating Justin DeLoach and dropping him twice on his way to a decision victory in May.

Το Σάββατο Έκανα το ταξίδι δυτικά από το σπίτι μου στο Λονδίνο στην όμορφη πόλη του Κάρντιφ για την εκδήλωση που προωθείται ο Owen Watkins στο Ice Arena Wales.

Ο Τόμας συνέχισε την πίεση, πιπερώνοντας τον McNicholas με έναν κακό συνδυασμό σώματος και κεφαλιού, ακολουθούμενο από ένα άλλο καλό σκληρό τρύπημα για να φέρει τον McNicholas σε μια ουδέτερη γωνία πριν τον αφήσει να σκίσει με ένα εντυπωσιακό αριστερό άγκιστρο στο σώμα, που έστειλε Ο ΜακΝίκολας πέφτει για δεύτερη φορά.

Οι τελευταίες μου σκέψεις για τον συγκεκριμένο αγώνα είναι; μπορεί να κράτησε μόνο έναν γύρο, αλλά τι τρομερός γύρος ήταν.

Στη συνέχεια, δείτε τον Kacper Dudzinski να κάνει το ντεμπούτο του στον επαγγελματία ενάντια στον Michael Kelly του Μπέλφαστ σε έναν διαγωνισμό Super Welterweight τεσσάρων γύρων.

Η Κέλλυ δεν είναι κούπα, ούτε στην καλύτερη περίπτωση, είναι τόσο έξυπνος όσο έρχονται, αλλά ακόμη κι εκείνος έπρεπε να δεχτεί να πάρει αμυντική στάση και να περιμένει υπομονετικά κάθε ευκαιρία, όσο λεπτό κι αν είναι, να μετρήσει, που για να είμαι ειλικρινής ήταν ελάχιστες.

Ο Dudzinski εντυπωσίασε σοβαρά απέναντι στην Kelly και έχει φανταστικό μέλλον στο άθλημα.

Μπορεί να ήταν το ντεμπούτο του, αλλά με βάση τις επιδόσεις του Σάββατο νύχτα, ενάντια σε έναν πρώην γνήσιο αμφισβητία του τίτλου, Πιστεύω ότι θα φτάσει μέχρι την κορυφή και το αξίζει επίσης, όποιος μπορεί να κρατήσει την Kelly στο πίσω πόδι όπως έκανε ο Dudzinski για σχεδόν τους τέσσερις γύρους είναι χωρίς αμφιβολία κάτι ιδιαίτερο.

Επόμενος ήταν ο Ben McGivern εναντίον του Ben Hough σε έναν διαγωνισμό τεσσάρων γύρων Cruiserweight.

Τι ένας αγώνας, Ο McGivern διευθύνει κυρίως τις διαδικασίες, πιέζοντας τον Hough στο πίσω πόδι καθώς και τα σχοινιά για ένα καλό κομμάτι της πρώτης στροφής. Ο Hough μπορεί να ήταν στην άμυνα για ένα μεγάλο μέρος του πρώτου, αλλά όταν παρουσιάστηκαν οι ευκαιρίες τις πήρε με στυλ.

Ήταν ουσιαστικά μια πλήρης ανατροπή στον δεύτερο γύρο, με τον Χιου να κάνει τον έλεγχο της πάλης και να βάζει τον ΜακΓκίβερν στο πίσω πόδι, και σχοινιά, παρόμοιο με τον τρόπο που ο Σκωτσέζος είχε προπονήσει τον πρώτο γύρο.

Η τρίτη στροφή ήταν μια πολύ πιο σκληρή υπόθεση, τόσο πολύ που δυσκολεύτηκα να τα χωρίσω, σημεία σοφά.

Το τέταρτο ξεκίνησε λίγο πολύ καθώς τελείωσε το τρίτο, με τους δύο πρωταγωνιστές να πηγαίνουν για αυτό σφυρί και λαβίδα, αλλά καθώς ο Γύρος προχωρούσε, ο McGivern ανέβασε αρκετά τον ρυθμό για να εξασφαλίσει όχι μόνο τον γύρο, αλλά και τη νίκη.

Μετά από τέσσερις συγκλονιστικούς γύρους δράσης, όπως έδωσα παραπάνω, ήταν ο ΜακΓκίβερν που βγήκε νικητής, ο διαιτητής Roger Riley σκοράρει τον εξαιρετικό αγώνα 39-37 υπέρ του Σκωτσέζου.

Μετά τον αγώνα και οι δύο πυγμάχοι συμφώνησαν σε ένα rematch, το οποίο με έχουν ενημερωθεί αξιόπιστα είναι πιθανό να πραγματοποιηθεί στο Λίβερπουλ στις 8, Σεπ – βάλε την ημερομηνία στο ημερολόγιό σου αυτός είναι ένας αγώνας που δεν πρέπει να χάσει κανείς!

Ο προτελευταίος αγώνας της βραδιάς βλέπε Blackwood, Νότια Ουαλία’ Liam Preece εναντίον πολύ, πολύ καθυστερημένη αντικατάσταση του Πεντεφοέλα, Βόρεια Ουαλία’ Ο Steffan Hughes σε έναν all Welsh διαγωνισμό.

Τι τρέλα ήταν αυτός ο αγώνας, ήταν ένα θρίλερ δράσης από την αρχή μέχρι το τελευταίο κουδούνι.

Λαμβάνοντας υπόψη ότι ο Preece είχε ένα σημαντικό μειονέκτημα βάρους να αντιμετωπίσει, το πήγε πραγματικά, παίρνοντας τον αγώνα στους πιο έμπειρους του, και πιο βαρύ, αντίπαλος.

Ο Preece εγκιβωτίστηκε με αυτοπεποίθηση όχι μόνο όταν βρίσκεται στην επίθεση αλλά και όταν αμύνεται ενάντια στα ακριβή exocets που εκτοξεύει ο Hughes.

Ο Preece ήταν εντυπωσιακός καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια, και είμαι βέβαιος ότι δεν εξέπληξε κανέναν στο Ice Arena Wales όταν η κάρτα του διαιτητή Chris Kelly διαβάστηκε ως 40-36 νίκη βαθμών για το Παίδων της Νότιας Ουαλίας.

Ο τελευταίος αγώνας επαγγελματιών της βραδιάς αντιμετώπισε τον Levi Griffiths του πρώην ερασιτέχνη αστέρα Port Talbot με υψηλή βαθμολογία και τον Scott McIntyre της Liverpool.

Ο Γκρίφιθς είναι τόσο γλαφυρός, ο αριστοκρατικός νεαρός ξεκίνησε καλά και πέτυχε μερικές τσιμπημένες βολές, κάτι που ανάγκασε τον McIntyre να μεταβεί στο «πλάνο Β» από νωρίς σε μια προσπάθεια να κρατηθεί στο εσωτερικό για να αποτρέψει τον Ουαλό από το να βάλει τα δυνατά του χτυπήματα..

Μετά το αρχικό «ανοιχτό’ περίοδος, που επέτρεψε στον γλαφυρό Ουαλό να πετύχει ένα καλό επίπεδο επιτυχίας, η πλειοψηφία του καυγά θα μπορούσε να είχε γίνει σε τηλεφωνική θυρίδα.

Ο ΜακΙντάιρ προφανώς δεν είχε καμία πρόθεση να δώσει στον Γκρίφιθς την ευκαιρία να τον αφήσει να ρίξει με μεγάλες βολές, απλά τον κράτησε δεμένο καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια, μερικές φορές με άδικα μέσα, τόσο πολύ που μετά από πολυάριθμες προειδοποιήσεις για κράτημα ή μη σπάσιμο όταν του το λένε, Ο διαιτητής Ρότζερ Ράιλι αφαίρεσε έναν βαθμό, Ωστόσο, ακόμη και αυτή η αφαίρεση βαθμών δεν θα εμπόδιζε τον άνδρα της Λίβερπουλ να εξασφαλίσει τη νίκη, η επίσημη βαθμολογία είναι 39-36.

Tommy ‘Sweet T’ Jacobs set to face Bilal Mohammad For WBF International Crown

Colchester’s Tommy ‘Sweet T’ Jacobs is firmly on a fast track to achieving his dream of being a World Champion, when he takes on Ghana’s Bilal Mohammad for the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) International Super Welterweight Crown at the Charter Hall in Colchester on Saturday 30th June 2018.

 

 

Back in April this year Jacobs secured the WBF European Super Welterweight title with a convincing unanimous points victory over Matar Sambou, who to date has been the only boxer to beat him, when they first went toe-to-toe on Jacobs’ first defence of his British Masters crown back in October 2017.

 

 

Jacobs, a former Team GB International Amateur star, only turned professional in March 2016 and in that short time has already secured three Professional Titles, the British Masters, the International Masters and the World Boxing Foundation (WBF) European Championships and is confident that he will be adding the WBF International crown on just his ninth professional fight.

 

 

More importantly Jacobs’ eight fights to date have been against prospects, a rarity in the sport these days and one that sees Jacobs join such luminaries as all-time top fifty Pound 4 Pound Champions, Muhammad Ali, Oscar De La Hoya, Bob Fitzsimmons, Andre Ward and Joe Gans, who also only fought prospects with positive records in their first nine professional contests.

“It felt good because I knew my brother would get the job done. We belong on this level. We need these titles to get the big fights and we’re going to keep these titles to keep rising.

Two minutes into the eighth round, Jermell Charlo, trailing 69-64 on the three judges’ scorecards, landed a perfect counter right hand to Jackson’s left eye. As Jackson dropped his guard to insure his mouthpiece was in place, Jermell connected with two more right hands that sent Jackson falling forward into his corner. Defenseless and seemingly out on his feet, referee Tony Weeks stepped in immediately and stopped it at 0:51.

“As usual Lara’s style is extremely difficult for the judges to score,” Farhood said. “He’s so selective with his punches, yet he lands such a high percentage of them. And to make it even more difficult, a lot of Martirosyan’s body punches were blocked. The judges agreed on seven of the 12 γύρους. It clearly was a close fight and what got Lara over the top was the 10-8 score in round 11.

 

“We benefit from the use of replay. Watching the punch that brought the deduction on replay, I believe that it wasn’t a low blow.

Lara, 33, was making his fourth title defense. “This is normal,” said Lara who landed 60 percent of the 160-plus power punches. “This is boxing, not baseball. Low blows and headbutts happen. I’m a very intelligent fighter and at no point did I feel this fight was going to be lost.

 

“My mother and kids are still there so it would be a great privilege to go fight in my native Cuba. Everything is possible in this world. I didn’t think I’d be champion of the world and here I am.
