Sena Agbeko-Bryan Vera Headlines “Beatdown in the Boro” December 8

Nashville, TN (Oktyabr 16, 2018) – Tri-Star Boxing Promotions will host Murfreesboro, TN’s first pro boxing card in more than a quarter century when they present “Beatdown in the Boro” Saturday, Dekabr 8 at The Mid-TN Expo Center.

Headlining is an intriguing eight round super middleweight showdown between Nashville’s Sena “African Assassin” Agbeko and longtime contender Bryan Vera of Austin, TX.

 

 

 

Originally from Accra, Gana, the heavy-handed Agbeko’s outstanding professional record is 21-1 bilan 18 nokaut bilan g'alaba. The tough Texan also shared the squared circle with James Kirkland, Julio Sezar Chaves Jr. (ikki marotaba), Willie Monroe Jr., Matt Korobov and Rocky Fielding among others. At 36, Vera looks to knock off Agbeko and have another run at the top.

 

 

 

“This is going to be the biggest fight for a local boxer in quite some time and it’s truly an honor to host the first fight card in more than a quarter century in my hometown,” said Matt Young, a Murfreesboro native and founder of Tri-Star Boxing. “Sena told us adamantly that he wants to step up the competition and Bryan Vera is the kind of opponent he was looking for. We’re expecting to see the best Sena Agbeko to date but he’s still in for a tough fight.”

 

 

 

Murfreesboro’s Rydell “Super” Mayes, 1-0 (1 KO), will face an opponent to be named in a four round heavyweight contest. A standout football player at Riverdale high school, Mayes scored an impressive knockout in his pro debut July 28.

 

 

 

Lightweight Austin “The Dream” Dulay looks to get back to his winning ways following his first career defeat when he faces an opponent to be named. Born and raised in Nashville, Dulay has an excellent 11-1 bilan rekord 8 victories by KO.

 

 

 

Popular Nashville native Eduardo “Chachi” Aguilar meets 15 fight veteran Carl Currie of Robbins, IL over four rounds. The two met July 28 and fought to a thrilling draw.

 

 

 

Unbeaten Memphis, TN based junior middleweight Mike Cook, 9-0 (4 KO), and heavyweight Dylan Courson, 2-1 (2 KO), of Rome, GA are slated to appear in separate bouts against opponents TBD.

ATLANTIC SHAHAR (Sentyabr 10, 2018)–DeCarlo Perez and Antowyan Aikens lived up to the pre-fight hype of a knockdown- dragout war that eventually saw Perez eek out an eight-round unanimous decision on Saturday night at The Bourbon Room inside the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City.

 

The bout between Atlantic City rivals, which gave Perez the New Jersey State Super Middleweight title, headlined an terrific 10-bout card promoted by Rising Star Promotions.

 

 

The fight saw Perez push the action early as he buckled Aikens into the ropes in the 2nd round. Not only did Aikens stem the tide, but came back emphatically, as he landed a perfect right that sent Perez to the canvas.

 

Now with Aikens seemingly in control. Perez came back the very next round to land a perfect left hook that put Aikens on the canvas. It looked like Perez would be able to end the fight, but Aikens came back and stood toe-to-tow with Perez, and gave as good he received.

 

With a cut over his left eye, Perez was able to box his way down the stretch of the fight, which thrilled the capacity crowd and the Showboat Hotel.

 

 

 

Perez of Atlantic City won by scores of 77-72, 76-74 va 75-74 takomillashtirish uchun 17-6-1. Aikens of Atlantic City is 13-5-1.

 

 

 

“Antowyan surprised me on how he was able to be so consistent. When he did knock me down, I was able to stay calm, and keep my composure. I said to myself was to stay calm, I still have rounds and I tasted his power. I knocked him down, and I knew we were even, and I just wanted to win the last few rounds. He started out the rounds strong, but my pressure not only influenced the judges, but began to break him down. He started punching out of fear instead of skill,” said Perez. “As long as I stayed consistent and kept my pressure, I knew that I would prevail.”

Napoleon had a previous fight scheduled for June 21 postponed and has continued training in preparation to defend her world title.

 

 

 

Fighting in the paid ranks for just one-year, Rankin defeated then undefeated Sanna Turunen over ten rounds in June to capture the vacant WBC Silver Women’s Middleweight Title and her third straight victory headed into August 4.

 

 

 

A professional musician outside of the ring, the 27-year-old Rankin plays the bassoon and has traveled the world in recent years playing with numerous orchestras while also training and furthering her career in the squared circle.

HUMBERTO VELAZCO IN TROUBLE WITH GOVERNMENT OF MEXICO FOR PULLING OUT OF FIGHT

“We have programs here in Mexico that are funded by the government of Mexico in Aguascalientes,” dedi Dr. Lorenzo Soboranes Maya, director of Latino public relations for Sugar Promotions in Mexico. “One of which was this weekend’s “Chempionlar yarmarkasi” boxing event that took place at the Plaza de Toros San Marcos arena. After signing the contract, Velazco pulled out of the fight, leaving everyone involved scrambling for a replacement. This kind of conduct will not be tolerated, and legal action will be addressed. Velazco will be prosecuted by the full extent of the law, and he is not welcome to fight in this city ever again.”

 

 

 

“As Velazco’s promoter, I did everything on my end to get him a shot at the vacant WBC Silver Super Middleweight Title,” dedi Oscar Vazquez, Shakar aktsiyalarining bosh direktori. “We came to an agreement on what his purse would be, he signed the contract, and then pulled out of the fight in the final days leading up to the fight. I have Velazco under contract.
