Split-T Management signs amateur standout Eric Puente to management deal

NEW YORK (September 7, 2018)–Boxing’s deepest management stable just got richer as Split-T Management  is proud to announce the signing of amateur standout Eric Puente to an exclusive management deal.

 

 

 

Puente, 19 years old of Vista, California by way of Sinaloa, Mexico will campaign in the lightweight division.

 

 

 

Puente started boxing at the age of eight years-old by his father/trainer, Ivan.

 

 

 

He went on to win the 2016 National Youth Open Championship, and was a member of Team USA.  Puente was a favorite to be a member of the 2020 United States Olympic Team.

 

 

 

Puente, who stand 5’8″ likens his style to a cross between Danny Garcia and Yuriorkis Gamboa.

 

 

 

“Boxing is everything to me! I live, eat and sleep boxing 24/7. Sampson Boxing Signs Undefeated Featherweight Eduardo Ramirez to a Promotional Contract

Sampson boxing proudly announces the signing of undefeated featherweight Eduardo “Zurdito” Ramirez of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico, to an exclusive long-term promotional contract.

Ramirez (20-0-2, 7 KOs) is a 24-year-old, highly skilled southpaw with fast hands and super defense. He is managed and trained by Manuel Montiel Jr., brother of the five-time world champion Fernando Montiel.
“I am shocked and honored to be chosen to join the stable of Sampson Lewkowicz,” said Ramirez. “My dream of a world title shot will come true now that he is helping me and that was my goal all along. All I have to do is keep wining and my team will do the rest.”
Montiel, who also manages and trains Sampson Boxing super welterweight contender Jorge Cota, was also happy with the deal.
“I am grateful to Sampson for giving us this opportunity with another of my fighters. We have made him a commitment to work hard to always bring Eduardo into the ring in the best shape possible to go all the way to the world championship.”
For Lewkowicz, the addition of Ramirez and partnership with Montiel are another avenue to bring Mexican boxing talent to the forefront. The well-known promoter already works with such names as Jorge “Pilon” Lara and Hugo “Cuatito” Ruiz to name a few.

“I am working hard to bring more Mexican champions to the world,” he explained. “I’m very proud to sign Eduardo and bring him and his team the opportunities they have worked so hard to reach.”

Top Venezuelan prospect Juan ‘El Niño’ Ruiz will face Juan Marquez in Culiacan

 
 
One of the most prominent fighters from Venezuela, Juan ‘El Niño’ Ruiz (14-0, 8 KO’s) is set to return to the ring this Friday, August 21 at the Revolution Park in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico.
Ruiz will face Mexican fighter, Juan Carlos Márquez ( 11-8-4, 5 KOs) in a fight scheduled six rounds bout at the welterweight division.
In his last fight, Marquez was victorious against former undefeated fighter Gael Cota by unanimous decision in an exciting fight, held in Los Mochis.
“I’m prepared to take this challenge against an opponent who knows his stuff, and is coming off a good win. I’ve had an excelent training camp with my trainer Rene Miranda in Tijuana, and I feel very confident that I will bring back the victory for Venezuela. We believe that my time is now, and I will overcome any challenge”- stated Juan ‘El Niño’ Ruiz, who finished his amateur boxing career with 214 wins and only 6 losses.
After a 17-month layoff, due to management problems, the quoted Venezuelan boxer, managed to return to the ring last July 9 in Tijuana, where he scored a first round knock out against Charly Valdez.
In 2013, Ruiz was ranked number 11 by the World Boxing Association (WBA) after knocking out Nelson Lara  in the fifth round, which earned him the Fedelatin belt.
Ruiz is managed by Ben Lieblein and Alfredo Rodriguez.

Miguel ‘Zurdo’ Sanchez returns this Friday

Roc Nation Sports newest acquisition, Miguel ‘ Zurdo’ Sanchez from Culiacan, will be back in action this Friday, August 21 in Corona, California.
Sanchez (10-0, 8 KO’s) will be facing the experienced Francisco ‘Pantera’ Reza (14-14, 11 KO’s) of Torreon on a six-round scheduled bout at the Omega Products Outdoor Arena.
“I have not stopped training since my last fight in April. We are complementing work with swimming, focusing on enhancing stamina, endurance and strength. Each day I’m evolving as a fighter, I feel better every day I train. This Friday I’m ready for whatever my opponent brings”, said Sanchez, who knocked out Yair Aguilar in the first round in last April.
The pride of Culiacan Sinaloa, Mexico is campaigning at the welterweight division and trains in the ‘House of Boxing Training Center’ gym located in San Diego, California under the leadership of Carlos Barragan, who also trains Antonio Orozco (22-0 15 KO’s).

Sampson Boxing Renews Co-Promotional Agreement with Super Bantamweight Slugger Hugo ‘Cuatito’ Ruiz

Sampson Lewkowicz of Sampson Boxing and Oswaldo Kuchle of Promociones Del Pueblo proudly announce the renewal of former interim WBA World bantamweight and current WBC #2-rated super bantamweight contender, Hugo “Cuatito” Ruiz (35-2, 31 KOs) of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico’s co-promotional contract.

 

28-year-old Ruiz, trained by his father, Heriberto Ruiz and twin brothers, Edel and Heriberto Jr (both former high-level fighters), was last seen demolishing Mexican veteran Carlos Medellin in one round last November.

 

“I am very happy that Hugo Ruiz has decided to stay loyal to us and I expect he will be world champion in his new division very soon,” said Sampson Lewkowicz. “He is a very exciting fighter with the power to make every fight exciting.”

 

Ruiz’ only loss in the last eight years was a very debatable split decision to Japan’s Koki Kameda in a WBA Unification fight in Osaka, Japan, in December 2012. Ruiz made four successful defenses of his interim championship before the Kameda controversy.

 

Impressively, Ruiz carries an 84% KO ratio, boxing at the international level.
