Salita Promotions Signs Promising Toledo Welterweight Wesley Tucker

Dmitriy Salita of Salita Promotions proudly announces the signing of undefeated welterweight contender Wesley “King Wes” Tucker.
A skilled counter puncher with above average power, Tucker (12-0, 7 KOs) of Toledo, Ohio, had over 250 amateur bouts and won several championships including the Toledo Golden Gloves, Silver Gloves, and Junior Olympics multiple times.
The 29-year-old southpaw started boxing at age 8 years old and already has 18 years boxing experience.
“My ring generalship is my greatest asset in the ring,” said Tucker, “tall, small, bigger, I’ve already seen it all and I know what to do to beat them.”
Tucker will make his debut fighting under the Salita Promotions banner on Saturday, November 12, at their “Detroit Brawl” event at the Masonic Temple in Downtown Detroit, when he faces North Carolina’s Richard Hall in a six-round battle.
Sponsored by Thomas Magee’s Sporting House Whiskey Bar, tickets for “Detroit Brawl” will be priced at VIP $123, Box Seats $100, Ringside $93, $63, $38, and $28 and available at all Ticketmaster outlets and Ticketmaster.com.

A father of five, Tucker says family plays a major role in his life and the reason he is a tireless worker in the gym.
“They are my push and motivation for everything I do. They come to the gym with me a lot at least three times a week. And my mom, she loves what I do. She’s my number one fan.”
Tucker’s manager, David McWater who arranged the deal with Salita, says he’s happy to have another of his fighters under their promotional banner.
“I’m really excited about Wesley signing with Salita Promotions,” he said. “We started working with Dmitry when we signed Antonio Nieves with him and he’s been a gem. I believe he’s THE up and coming promoter in the USA and are excited to get our guys in on the ground level with him. Wesley is a wonderful kid who has overcame a lot of adversity to get to this spot. I am confident he will make the most of this opportunity.”
Salita says he’s going to go to work immediately on his new fighter’s career.
“Wesley has as much skill and experience as any fighter in boxing,” he said. “his 250 amateur fights mean he’s seen it all and done it all. There isn’t the same learning curve with a fighter with that much experience. We will immediately be looking to move him into the top 10 and an eventual world title shot in the next year or two. I thank him and his team for joining my growing stable of fighters.”
On November 12, Tucker joins a full cast of local and international prospects on Salita’s “Detroit Brawl,” including a trio of undefeated Detroit bantamweights: James Gordon Smith (10-0, 6 KOs), Jarico “Great Lakes King” O’Quinn (3-0, 2 KOs) and Zach Shamoun (4-0-1, 3 KOs); as well as Russian cruiserweight Alexey Zubov (12-1, 7 KOs); Georgian super lightweight Giorgi Gelashvili (5-0, 3 KOs); and undefeated UK-based bantamweight Muheeb “Flashy,” Fazeldin (8-0-1, 3 KOs) in separate bouts.
More fights, opponents and rounds will be announced shortly. On fight night, doors open at 5:00 pm and the fights begin at 6:00 pm.

Three of Detroit’s Best Prospects Will Appear on Salita Promotions’ ‘Detroit Brawl’ on Saturday, November 12, at the Masonic Temple in Detroit

Three of Detroit’s brightest prospects, all bantamweights, will appear in separate bouts on Salita Promotions’ latest “Detroit Brawl” event on Saturday, November 12, at the Masonic Temple in Downtown Detroit.
A “thrill a minute” type slugger with a heavy punch and a giant heart, undefeated 26-year-old James Gordon Smith (10-0, 6 KOs) is never in a bad fight. Before turning pro, Smith won numerous national amateur tournaments and has been talked about in Detroit boxing circles for a long time as a potential future champion.
Once again sponsored by Thomas Magee’s Sporting House Whiskey Bar, tickets for “Detroit Brawl” will be priced at VIP $123, Box Seats $100, Ringside $93, $63, $38, and $28 and available at all Ticketmaster outlets and Tickmaster.com.
Smith has already electrified a Detroit Brawl audience, winning a unanimous six-round decision over Mexico’s tough Pablo Cupul last May. True to his fan-friendly form, Smith’s victory over Cupul proved to be a “Fight of the Year” candidate.
The power-punching Detroiter will be looking to take a step up to world contender status soon and will be hoping to showcase his talents one more time for his hometown fans.
“James Gordon Smith is one of the most exciting fighters from Detroit right now,” said Kronk Gym’s Javan “Sugar” Hill, one of Detroit’s best-known and most respected trainers. “It’s always a rumble when he fights and that’s because he is like the fighters of the good old days. He’s always looking to get a knockout and his when you see him fight you will see what I am talking about!”
Also on showcase that night will be 21-year-old bantamweight Jarico “Great Lakes King” O’Quinn (3-0, 2 KOs) of Detroit, who was one of most sought-after amateur prospects in the country before turning professional last year.
With blazing-fast hands and effortless combination punching, O’Quinn has begun building a reputation as “one to watch,” among young prospects in the sport. He will already be having his third fight under the Salita Promotions banner after signing last July.
O’Quinn started boxing at age 14 and went on to rack up 130 wins against 18 losses as an amateur, winning countless national tournaments including the USA Nationals as the number-one-ranked bantamweight in the country. He also travelled extensively with Team USA to fight internationally in places like Poland, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the Ukraine.
Rounding out the trio is exciting 22-year-old fan favorite Zach Shamoun, of Royal Oak, Michigan.
Shamoun, who started boxing at age nine, was also an amateur standout. In his 160 amateur fights, he won the Junior Golden Gloves in 2008 and went on to take 14 state and nine regional titles, while losing just nine fights.
A thinking man’s slugger, the quick-fisted Shamoun can stay very relaxed and in control under fire. He has excellent ring generalship and likes to stay two steps ahead of his opponents.
More fights, opponents and rounds will be announced shortly. On fight night, doors open at 5:00 pm and the fights begin at 6:00 pm.

Salita Promotions Signs Junior Welterweight Power Puncher Shoh Ergashev to Promotional Contract

Promoter Dmitriy Salita proudly announces the signing of promising junior welterweight slugger Shohjahon “Shoh” Ergashev to a promotional contract.
Known as an extreme power puncher in Russian boxing circles, 25-year-old Ergashev (6-0, 6 KOs) is considered one of the best current prospects coming out of Uzbekistan.
Egashev now lives in Moscow and trains in Chelyabinsk, Russia, with Sergey Novikov, trainer of light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev in the amateurs. He is managed by well-known Russian based manager Oleg Bogdanov.
Southpaw Ergashev started boxing in 2003 and won the Uzbekistan Nationals four times, starting in 2005. He won 202 of his 216 amateur bouts, holds a victory over Uzbek Olympic Silver Medalist Shahram Gayasov and went undefeated the last three years of his amateur career, winning every fight by knockout against stiff competition.
Having never fought outside Russia as a professional, Ergashev says he’s eager to work with Salita, who can help him bring his talents to the Western world. “I can’t wait to fight for a world audience and show them what my punching power can do to my opponent,” said Ergashev.
Not one to waste time, Ergashev KO’d his last opponent in 16 seconds
“Shoh definitely has potential to be a champion,” said trainer Novikov. “I like his positive, serious attitude towards training and his mindset of destroying his opponents.”
“Shoh is the best prospect I have seen in a long time. He has the potential and power like fellow Kovalev and Golovkin,” said Bogdanov. “I am excited about the opportunity for him to sign with Salita Promotions and come to the US soon to take over the junior welterweight and welterweight divisions.”
“I am very happy to add Shoh to our talent roster,” said Dmitriy Salita. “He has the skills and power to be an exciting and dominant force in the future of boxing.”

Salita says he plans to bring Ergashev to Detroit soon, for an appearance on one of his wildly popular “Detroit Brawl” shows.

SALITA’S WARNING TO THE WOLVES: JARRELL MILLER IS MY FIGHTER

Salita Logo
Responding to recent statements made to the media by Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller that he is a free agent, Dmitriy Salita (Salita Promotions) has responded by confirming that his company’s promotional agreement with Miller is valid and subsisting. Salita also wishes to remind would-be promoters of the valid promotional contract he has with the red-hot heavyweight contender.
In part due to his excellent work, Miller (17-0-1, 15 KOs) finds his name on lips of boxing fans and experts worldwide, while riding an ever-increasing wave of forward momentum as the next great fighter from Brooklyn to fight for and win the heavyweight championship.
“Unfortunately, this is what happens in boxing,” said Salita. “You bring a guy up from the ground level and when he starts getting up there, the wolves start whispering in his ear.”
Salita, who signed the then-unknown Miller two years ago, is himself a former world-class fighter who knows the ins and outs of the boxing business and how rival promoters can cross the line.
“I have recently become aware that AB Promotions and Warriors Boxing have been tortiously interfering with my company’s exclusive promotional agreement with Jarrell Miller. Today, as a result of such interference, Jarrell has posted a statement on social media stating that he is a free agent and that he terminated the promotional agreement. My promotional agreement with Mr. Miller is valid and subsisting, and I intend to vigorously pursue all of my legal rights and remedies against Mr. Miller and those responsible for inducing to him to breach the promotional agreement. I am confident in my legal position and look forward to prevailing in court.”
Coming off his third consecutive Showtime-televised victory on August 19, and the WBO #8-, WBA #9-, WBC #15- and IBF #14-rated heavyweight in the world, Miller is already on the fast track to a championship fight.
“I’ve sent out cease and desist letters,” continued Salita. “But it’s also shows what a great job I have done. The heavyweight division had no American stars on the horizon before Jarrell came along. Now he’s all over the media, adding color and flare to the division. I’m working on several opportunities for Jarrell to stay active and lock down a title opportunity in the next 6-12 months. Showtime is committed to the heavyweight division and I am honored to have had their support and have Jarrell as my headliner during the Olympics.”

The two power-punching heavies will meet in the main event of Greg Cohen Promotions next instalment of “Championship Boxing on CBS Sports Network.”

Promoter Says Tikhonov Ready for the World After Impressive Victory in Russia

Undefeated super bantamweight prospect Vladimir Tikhonov is now setting his sights on the top of his division after having notched his first victory under the Salita Promotions banner, a KO 8 over capable veteran Nikoloz Kokashvili on March 12 in Narva, Estonia,
25-year-old Tikhonov (now 14-0, 8 KOs) is the #1-ranked super bantamweight in Russia and, with his promotional problems a thing of the past, is ready for anyone in the world.
His promoter, Dmitriy Salita of Salita Promotions, says his fighter looked sensational against Kokashvili.
“Vladimir won every round before knocking him out,” said Salita. “He had been through some inactivity during his career, but after dominating an opponent who was 16-2 going in the way he did, I’m confident he is ready for anyone in the world.
The southpaw Tikhonov is already designated a Sport Master of Russia in his home country, a prestigious honor bestowed upon the country’s top athletes.
“He’s ready for any of the champions or other top contenders at 122 lbs.,” continued Salita. “This is going to be a very big year for Vladimir. A big fight is just a signed contract away and we are working hard to make it happen.”
The current super bantamweight world champions are (WBC) Hugo Ruiz, (WBA) Guillermo Rigondeaux and Carl Frampton, (IBF) Carl Frampton and (WBO) Nonito Donaire.

Salita Promotions Signs Russian Super Bantamweight Vladimir Tikhonov

Promoter Dmitriy Salita of Salita Promotions proudly announces the signing of undefeated super bantamweight prospect Vladimir Tikhonov to a promotional contract.

A pro since 2008, the 25-year-old southpaw, from Saint Petersburg, Russia, sports an undefeated record of 13-0, 7 KOs. As an amateur boxer who finished with a record of 85-15, Tikhonov was a gold medallist at the 2008 All-Russia Class A Tournament 2008 in Togliatti and a silver medallist in 2007 and was recognized as the best boxer of the tournament. He has also been given the designation as a Sport Master of Russia.
Tikhonov has had only 13 fights in eight years and ventured out of his native country only once as a professional. Promoter Salita says that’s about to change.
“Vladimir is an extremely talented fighter with excellent potential to become a world champion,” said Salita. “We are going to get him active and bring him to the United States where he can become known as a top contender in his division. I am very happy to have formed this agreement with one of Russia’s best up-and-coming fighters.”
“I am excited to sign with Salita Promotions and look forward to fighting the best fighters in my division,” said Vladimir Tikhonov. “I have been boxing my whole life. My amateur and pro experience will be important in fights against top competition. I am very hungry to show that I am the best Super Bantamweight in the world.”

Salita says Tikhonov’s first fight under his promotional banner will be announced shortly, but the focus will be on securing him a shot against one of the division’s best including WBA Champions Guillermo Rigondeaux and Scott Quigg, as well as IBF Champion Carl Frampton and WBO boss Nonito Donaire.
