Tell us about your training camp. Did you change a lot of your regular training methods for a fight against Kharitonov?

 

 

 

AV: “My training camp was no different from any other camp. Bi nigbagbogbo, I had many sparring sessions, wrestled a lot, and was focused on functional training. In general, it was just another camp. I trained at home in Cherepovets, because this is where I belong. I have good relations with fighters from many gyms, but I have never gone anywhere to a training camp. I don’t have enough money to go abroad for a camp, I work for myself.

 

 

 

I feel comfortable training in my gym. I have a great team, including some heavyweights, and we always help each other. If I have a fight scheduled, guys help me; if some other guys have fights, we all help them.”

 

How much will you weigh for the fight?

 

 

 

AV: “I think this time I will be at least 265 pounds before the fight, maybe even a bit heavier. I would not say I am that huge, there are many guys bigger than me. When I was a child, I used to be skinny and tall and only when I was n the Army did I start to gain weight. Bayi, when I am 265 poun. I breath good, and I think this weight is perfect for me.

 

What are your predictions for the upcoming fight? Are you going to fight Kharitonov standing or would like to take him down?

 

 

 

AV: In our weight class, one missed punch can end the fight, so I think we have equal chances to win this fight. During camp, we train for everything, so I will be ready to fight him standing but, ti o ba ti nilo, I will take him down, because it is very important in MMA to be able to change the game plan during the fight.”

 

Give us your thoughts on the vacant M-1 Challenge heavyweight title. Do you see yourself as champion in a couple more fights?

 

 

 

AV: “Bayi, I am concentrated on the upcoming fight but, bẹẹni, definitely if I win this fight I will be the No. 1 heavyweight contender. Sibẹsibẹ, I do not think about it right now. My goal is to fight the strongest and most experienced opponents, who are rated higher than me.

Germany, United States and Latvia Play Host to WBO Bouts

The World Boxing Organization (WBO), chaired by Francisco “Paco” Valcárcel, will celebrate five interesting title fights; two of which are for world championships. The bouts will take place this Saturday, Le 12.

 

 

 

Brooklyn native Saddam “World Kid” Ali (26-1, 14 KO ká), coming off the most important victory of his career against legendary Puerto Rican boxer Miguel Cotto, makes the first defense of his WBO junior middleweight world title, when he faces the dangerous Mexican Jaime Munguía (28-0, 24 KO ká). The fight will take place at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, Niu Yoki. The fight will be televised live on HBO at 10:00 p.m. ATI.

 

 

 

“We will have a lot of activity this Saturday from the WBO. You have to pay close attention to the performance of the huge puncher Jaime Munguía, who will face a good attacker like Ali. It’s going to be a classic fight of puncher against a boxer. If Munguía wins, he would be placed on a select list of great Mexican boxers who have been world champions at or before 21 years of age”, said Valcárcel.

 

 

 

In Augsburg, Germany, women’s boxing takes the stage when the popular former world champion Nikki Adler (16-1, 9 KO ká) of Germany and the world contender Femke Hermans (6-1, 3 KO ká) of Belgium, face each other for the vacant WBO world belt of the super middleweight division. The fight will be in the Eisstadion in Augsburg.

 

 

 

“We remain committed and supportive of women’s boxing. Germany is no exception. This great fight has the community looking on because there is a world title at stake and the fight will be liked by the public”, said Valcárcel.

 

In Latvia, three WBO International titles will be in play in 12-round duels in an evening at the Riga Arena. For the vacant International junior middleweight belt, the 13th ranked Ismail Iliev (10-0-1, 3 KO ká) of Nazran, Russia will face Konstantin Ponomarev (33-0, 13 KO ká) of Miass, Russia.

 

 

 

Bakannaa, the WBO International Lightweight Champion and 5th ranked Isa Chaniev (12-1, 6 KO ká) of Nazran, Russia, will defend his title against the strong Venezuelan puncher, Ismael Barroso (20-1-2, 19 KO ká).

 

 

 

For the vacant middleweight WBO International belt, Artur Akavov (18-2, 12 KO ká) from Russia, will face against Argentina’s Gonzalo Coria (12-1, 5 KO ká).

#1-rated IBF Inter-Continental Female Featherweight Champion Elena Gradinar is calling out the rest of her division’s best.

 

 

 

The undefeated 27-year-old, from Saint Petersburg, Russia, was last seen dominating former world champion Olivia Gerula in March. She has now set her sights on IBF Champion Jennifer Han and the top-rated female fighters in the featherweight division.

 

 

 

“I am very honored to have the Inter-Continental Title and be their number-one featherweight contender,” said Gradinar. “I want to demonstrate the true definition of a top contender and, ni kete, I believe a world champion by fighting the very best in every fight. This is a great time and space for women’s boxing and I am happy to be making my mark in this day and age.”

) – The first Spanish Olympia deadlift champion will face one of the strongest Russian athletes May 24 ni M-1 Ipenija 92 in M-1 Arena in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Fredy Gonzales, also known as “El Gigante,” is officially Spain’s strongest man. Born in Cuba, he always was a huge guy, so it’s no wonder that he chose football (bọọlu afẹsẹgba) as his first sport to play. After playing that for a few years, Gonzales decided to start something new and he wisely chose powerlifting. Maksim Baruzdin is the strongest man in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Undefeated M-1 Challenge middleweight champion Artem Frolov (10-0-0, M-1: 7-0-0), who was mentioned by Fighters Only Magazine among the 20 top MMA prospects for 2018, will defend his title for the first time against American favorite Joe "Diesel" Riggs (47-17-1, M-1: 2-0-1). Frolov is known as a well-rounded fighter who has defeated all ten of his opponents, four of which he knocked out, and the other four submitted. Last October, Frolov captured the belt by defeating UFC veteran Caio Magalhaes, ti Brazil, nipa ipinnu unanimous, but he needed a break to heal his injuries.

 

 

 

 

At the same event, Riggs got his second victory in M-1 Global competition, extending his winning streak to six fights, all ended by TKO. Since the champ (Frolov) could not fight and Riggs wanted to stay active, he took another fight against Ukrainian wrestler Borys Polezhai (18-6-0), which ended in a draw. “Diesel” was clearly not satisfied with that result, but his impressive unbeaten streak helped him get the June 1st title shot. Riggs, dajudaju, will bring do his best to become world champion once again.

In a battle of pro-debuting Russian middleweights at a catchweight, Vladimir Trisov‘s anaconda choke was too much to handle for Vyacheslay Babkin, Russian welterweight Movsar Bokov (4-1-0, M-1: 3-1-0) registered a submission win by way of a second-round submission versus Georgian Levan Solodovnik (5-3-0, M-1: 1-2-0) via an angle lock, and Russian lightweight Kurban Taygibov (7-1-0, M-1: 1-0-0) toon a unanimous decision fromLom-Ali Nalgiev (14-7-0, M-1: 5-2-0), ti Russia.

Saint Petersburg, Russia (March 19, 2018) – American mixed-martial-arts star Nate “The Train” Landwehr will compete for his first M-1 Global title, when he takes on red-hot M-1 Challenge featherweight champion Khamzat dalgiev, ni M-1 Ipenija 91 main event at the new M-1 Arena in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
M-1 Ipenija 91 will be live-streamed from Russia in high definition on www.M1Global.TV. The 29-year-old Landwehr (10-2-0, M-1: 2-0-0), who fights out of Clarksville, Tennessee, made his M-1 Global debut last September at M-1 Ipenija 83, nigbati o duro Mikhail Korobkov on punches in the second round. Landwehr’s last fight was this past November at M-1 Ipenija 85, at which he won a split decision over Viktor Kolesnik.
Since his first fight in Russia, Landwehr has developed into one of M-1 Global’s most popular fighters, largely due to his fan-friendly fighting style, as well as his showmanship. He made his own promo video, talks trash at press conferences, and broke out into an “ass whooping” song after his fight.
“The Train” never takes a step backwards, trading punches with his opponent from the opening bell, which often results in spectacular fights for MMA fans.
Landwehr (loke) is an all-around fighter who can ground or pound
Dalgiev (10-1-0, M-1: 7-1-0), ti Russia, ti gba 10 fights in a row since he lost his pro debut in 2014. Last November at M-1 Ipenija 86, Dalgiev turned in a shocking performance, knocking out longtime M-1 Challenge featherweight champion Ivan Buchinger in the opening round with a thunderous punch that made him an instant star.
Able to defeat his opponent in a variety of ways, Dalgiev has won five fights by submission with three knockouts, including five opening-round stoppages. If rising to the occasion is his forte, Dalgiev should be sky high to fight Landwehr in one of the most anticipated M-1 Global showdowns in years.
