The four 19-year-old Mexican fighters have a combined pro record of 24-0 (15 Ko): lightweights Jorge “Jorgito” Lugo Cota (7-0, 5 Ko) and Marco Cota Moreno (5-0, 4 Ko), as well as twin Tepic brothers, featherweight Hector “Tigre” Perez Cruz (6-0, 5 Ko) and super featherweight Paolo “Leon” Perez Cruz (6-0, 5 Ko).

The Mexican quartet had an incredible 470-24 dosye amatè: Lugo (155-15), Moreno (146-4), Pòl (86-2) and Hector (83-3) Lakwa.

“These young men are the future of boxing in Mexico,” RJJ Boxing’s veteran matchmaker Guy Taylor said. “I have never had four undefeated boxers with nearly 500 combined amateur victories, all under the age of 20, fighting on the same card as this.”

Cota, who has become a semi-regular fighting on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS shows, is matched against Ricardo “Palmito” Badillo Rodriguez (7-2-2, 1 KO), a Tepic, in a 6-round match. Cota is the youngest member of the famed Mexican fightin’ Montiel family, led by 3-division world champion Fernando Montiel.

Moreno was a decorated amateur boxer who captured five-Sonora State championship titles. He will meet Jonathan Zuniga (6-3, 3 Ko) in a 4-round fight.

The Cruz twins are slated to fight in 6 ak 4 epizod wonn, respektivman, Hector versus crosstown rival Victor “Tyson” Tadeo Rodriguez (2-0, 2 Ko), and Paolo vs. TBA (off-UFC FIGHT PASS).

The WBO No. 14-rated Martinez, who fights out of Guatemala City, Guatemala, figures to be tested in an 8-round bout by Jose Luis “El Caras” Zuniga (16-6-1, 9 Ko), the former Mexico Super Welterweight Champion.

2022 “Fantasy Fights” series

Undefeated welterweights Santiago “Somer” Dominguez vs. Michael “Boy Wonder 150%” Williams, Jr.

Dominguez Williams.jpg

(This is the first story in a short “Fantasy Fights” series about boxers who fought in 2021 on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS cards to be matched next year in potentially explosive fights on the same platform.)

LAS VEGAS (Novanm 16,  2021) – Arguably Mexico’s No. 1 wèltèr, Santiago “Somer” Dominguez (25-0, 19 Ko), against Michael “Boy Wonder 150%” Williams, Jr. (19-0, 12 Ko) is the first RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS’s “Fantasy Fights” potential showdown for the same live streaming platform in 2022.

UFC FIGHT PASS® is the world’s leading digital subscription service for combat sports, on which RJJ Boxing has streamed live and exclusively for the past three years. To sign up for UFC FIGHT PASS, tanpri vizitewww.ufcfightpass.com.

“Throughout the long, rich history of boxing,” veteran RJJ Boxing matchmaker Guy Taylor explained the genesis of ‘Fantasy Fights,’ “fans have always asked, ‘What would happen if these two ever fought each other.’ You couldn’t ask for a more polar opposite match-up than Santiago Dominguez and Michael Williams, Jr.”

Dominguez vs. Williams, Jr. is a classic contrast of styles, featuring a pair of gifted, undefeated welterweights seemingly on the verge of stardom.

RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS has helped boxers develop their skills in highly competitive matches, in addition to providing invaluable exposure worldwide, depi 2019 despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

The heavy-handed Dominguez, who is a former NABF Welterweight Champion and past No. 15-rated in the world, stopped former WBA World title challenger Jesus “Chino” Antonio Rubio (13-4, 7 Ko) for the vacant WBC Latino strap in the October 15th main event in Mexico. It was Dominguez’ only fight in nearly a year because he needed to give his body a break. Dominguez improved to 5-0 (4 Ko) fighting career-wise on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS.

The 22-year-old Williams, fighting out of Fayetteville, North Carolina, is trained by living legend Roy Jones, Jr. Last March in Biloxi, Mississippi, Williams defeated Starr Johnson, who couldn’t continue after the opening round. Williams improved to 2-0 (2 Ko) on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS.

“Santiago is a throwback Mexican fighter, who stands 5’ 8” and was born in Ciudad Obregon Sonora, Meksik, just like his hero, the great Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr.,” Taylor added. “Williams, Jr. is a flashy, fast-footed boxer with lightning-quick hands who stands 6’ 1”. To put that in context for a welterweight, Michael is the same height as Hall of Famer Thomas ‘Hitman’ Hearns. Williams is also trained by arguably the greatest all-around fighter, Roy Jones. Jr.”

“This is a fight that can easily be made given the status of both fighters from RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS. I truly feel that, estilitikman, there is no better match-up in 2022 than an undefeated, power-punching Mexican against an undefeated, slick, counter puncher from the United States. And they are both approaching their prime.”

Roy Jones, Jr. protégé Ikram Kerwat 1st female boxer to headline on UFC FIGHT PASS

BOUTS WILL STREAM LIVE ON UFC FIGHT PASS® THIS
THURSDAY NIGHT FROM CASINO DEL SOL IN TUCSON, ARIZONA
AT 10 P.m. E.T. / 7 P.m. P.T.

TUCSON, Arizona (Me 22, 2019) – Tunisia native and mother of two, Ikram Kerwat, headlines this Thursday evening for her first time in the initial female main event streamed on RJJ Boxing on UFC FIGHT PASS®, kòmanse nan 10 p.m. AK / 7 p.m. PT, live from Casino Del Sol’s outdoor AVA Amphitheater in Tucson, Arizona.

Kerwat (9-1, 5 Ko), fighting out of Frankfurt, Almay, throws-down with 9-time world title challengerSimone DaSilva (15-12, 6 Ko), nan Brezil, in the 10-round main event for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) female super featherweight championship.

Kerwat vs. DaSilva is presented by Roy Jones Jr. (RJJ) Boxing Promotions and Kerwat is trained by living legend and 10-time world championRoy Jones, Jr.

Ikram is an exciting fighter with awesome power and good hand speed,” Jones evaluated his protege. “She’s always looking to improve, and I look forward to her next voyage towards a world title.

The 35-year-old Kerwat is a former WBC International female lightweight champion, who will be fighting in the United States for the fourth time as a pro boxer. “Fighting in the U.S. was always one of my biggest dreams,” she commented. “It’s amazing. I already have a fanbase and they are really awesome. I like the enthusiasm and positive energy of U.S. moun.

This is my first main event and I can’t wait to step into the ring. To be live streamed on UFC FIGHT PASS is very important to me, my fans and, nan kou, fanmi mwen. My last fight was also live streamed on FIGHT PASS and it was amazing. I’m happy and thankful for that.

I want to give a big shout out to my family and my coach and promoter, Roy Jones, Jr, his wonderful wifeNatlyn Jones, ak, nan kou, the RJJ Promotions team for this opportunity and their kindness.

(L-R) Ikram Kerwat & Roy Jones, Jr.

Yon pro depi 2015, Kerwat first met Jones at the WBC Convention three years ago in Miami. “It’s an honor for me to lean from a legendary boxer like Roy,” she added. “He’s a boxing guru! Before I met Roy, I was a brawler, more of an aggressive fighter. Koulye a,, I’d say I learned to skillfully box. I’ve made a lot of improvements and I developed more, boxing-wise. I grew mentally, which is the most important part in boxing and life.

Da Silva may have fought in nine world titles fights, but Ikram doesn’t feel that she’s at a disadvantage because of her opponent’s edge in quality experience. “My opponent is experienced, but this means nothing to me,” she remarked. “I fear nobody, but I respect all boxers who step in the ring. I do not underestimate anyone, nothing more, and nothing less. I don’t look at her, I look at myself. This is only thing I have control over. I do my job, live my dream, and I have fun doing it. I enjoy every single minute of it. This next step is very important for us. Every single fight brings me a step closer to my goal, which means that every single fight is significant for my career. Fights like this even more so.

Although she had only three amateur matches, including a gold medal performance in the Berlin Championships and taking bronze in the German Championships, Ikram is positioning herself for a world title fight in the not too distant future, assuming she gets past Da Silva.

I trained myself (kòm yon amatè) and that wasn’t easy for me, because I really wasn’t a trainer, but I wanted it so bad and now even more,” Kerwat concluded. “I have two kids and I used to say boxing is my third child. And it’s the oldest. I protest and love it, making sure that I progress and develop, getting better and better.
