The 29-year-old Emeev, fighting out of Makhachkala, Oroszország, first captured the vacant M-1 Challenge middleweight title in 2012, taking a 5-round unanimous decision from Mario Miranda at M-1 Challenge 35, and he successfully won the rematch five months later atM-1 Challenge 38, stopping Miranda via strikes in the third round.

Leading up to their showdown, viszont, Emeev suffered ligament damage to his elbow, forcing him out of his fight with Shlemenko. Vasilevsky (28-5-0, M-1: 10-3-0), who Shlemenko had defeated by decision in the M-1 Grand Prix middleweight semifinals, accepted the challenge to replace Emeev a rematch. Shlemenko used a choke hold to submit the always tough Vasilevsky in the third round.
In his first M-1 Challenge heavyweight title defense, Volkov (26-6-0, M-1: 9-3-0) stopped Vegh (11-2-0, M-1: 0-1-0), Harcolj ki Szlovákia, a nyitó fordulóban.

“We were in a very difficult situation after Ramazan Ésmeev got injured,” M-1 Global elnöke Vadim Finkelchtein explained. “The whole event was in jeopardy. Emeev (14-3-0, M-1: 8-1-0), fighting out of Russia by way of Dagesztánban, is the reigning M-1 Challenge middleweight champion, although his title belt will not be at stake against Shlemenko. The 28-year-old Emeev, aki a 2015 M-1 Global Fighter of the Year, is a two-time M-1 Challenge middleweight champion. A M-1 Challenge 65 Fight of the Night was between Russian middleweight prospect Artem Frolov (6-0-0, M-1: 2-0-0) ellen Kristijan “Klitschko” Ezüst (8-3-1, M-1: 0-2-1), in which Frolov won by way of an opening-round submission by way of an arm-bar.

Emeev advances to M-1 Global Grand Prix Middleweight Championship

ST. PETERSBURG, Oroszország (Április 10, 2016) – M-1 Challenge középsúlyú bajnoka Ramadan Emeev won last night at M-1 Challenge 65 to advance to the M-1 Global Grand Prix Middleweight Championship, while undefeated challenger Alekszej Kunchenkodefeated defending champion Murad “Vadász” Abdulaev to become the new M-1 Challenge welterweight titlist, at CSC Sibur Arena in St. Petersburg, Oroszország.
Ramazan (14-3-0, M-1: 810), a 2015 M-1 Global Fighter of the Year, used a choke hold on his Brazilian opponent, Maiquel “Big Rig” Facao (35-9-0, M-1: 0-1-0), in their M-1 Grand Prix middleweight semifinals match. The main event ended at the 2:50 mark of the opening round as Ramazan advances to face three-time Bellator champion Alexander “Vihar” Shlemenko (51-9-0, M-1: 2-0-0) in the upcoming M-1 Grand Prix Middleweight Championship showdown.

Former M-1 Challenge lightweight champion Max Divnich (12-1-0, M-1: 6-1-0) put himself back into title contention with an impressive second-round stoppage on punches of M-1 Global-debuting American opponent Robert “TQ” Turnquest (5-2-0, M-1: 0-1-0).
Russian middleweight prospect Artem Frolov (6-0-0, M-1: 2-0-0) kept his unbeaten pro record intact, submitting Kristijan “Klitschko” Ezüst (8-3-1, M-1: 0-2-1) in the first round by way of an arm-bar.

Emeev vs. Falcao is an M-1 Grand Prix middleweight semifinals match with the winner advancing to the final later this year against the other M-1 Grand Prix middleweight semifinals winner, former three-time Bellator champion Alexander “Vihar” Shlemenko (52-9-0, M-1: 3-0-0).
