Falcao dominates Gutierrez; eager to face the best

Ville des Plantes, FL (Avril 2, 2018) – Rising star and WBC #13 rated middleweight Yamaguchi Falcao scored a one-sided eight round decision over tough veteran Richar Gutierrez Saturday, Mars 31 at the Marina Bay SportsPlex in Quincy, MA.

 

 

 

 

 

Fighting in front of a national audience on ESPN2, the bout got off to a strange start when Gutierrez was incorrectly credited with a knockdown in the opening seconds after stepping on Falcao’s foot then landing a punch. Le 2012 Olympic medalist immediately got back on his feet and made Gutierrez pay the price from bell to bell.

 

 

 

 

Falcao dominated the fight with hard jabs and crisp straight lefts, scoring a knockdown in the closing moments of the fifth. The game Gutierrez attempted to throw Falcao off by regularly clinching and using roughhouse tactics but was unsuccessful.

Falcao is now 15-0 avec 7 KO’s and Gutierrez falls to 30-18-2 (19 KO).

 

 

 

 

“Gutierrez was an experienced and sometimes dirty fighter,” said Falcao, who fights out of Plant City, FL and proudly represents his native Brazil. “I had a job to do and went out there and did it. I’d like to thank my team who did a great job of getting me ready for this fight and helped me bring the victory home.”

 

 

 

 

Falcao, who has been turned down by a number of notable middleweights, is eager as ever to get his shot at another top 160 livre de combat.

HAMPTON, N.H. (Décembre 9, 2017) — Perspective colorée des poids lourds légers Richard “Popeye le marin” Rivera resté invaincu (5-0, 4 KOs), vétéran Roberto “Le vieux” Valenzuela, hier soir (Sat.) dans le “Rumble au RIM” événement principal, présenté par Granite Chin Promotions, au complexe sportif RIM à Hampton, New Hampshire.
Rivera, se battre hors de Hartford (CT), a contrôlé l'action dès la cloche d'ouverture contre son adversaire mexicain éprouvé au combat, qui avait un énorme avantage d'expérience dans son 147e combat pro, par rapport au cinquième de Rivera.
Valenzuela a passé la plupart du temps sur les cordes, pendant que Rivera le raconte, jusqu'à ce qu'un beau crochet gauche placé par Rivera paré Valenzuela, qui n'a pas réussi à se lever avant l'arbitre Mike Ryan terminé le 10-temps.

Granite Chin invades Granite State with “Rumble at The Rim”

HAMPTON, New Hampshire (Novembre 13, 2017) – Granite Chin Promotions invades the Granite State on Samedi, Décembre 9, showcasing some of New England’s top professional boxers on the “Rumble at The Rim” carte, at The Rim in Hampton, New Hampshire.
A portion of the proceeds will go to Hampton Youth Association.
“We are excited to bring Granite Chin to New Hampshire,” organisateur Chuck Shearns dit. “The town of Hampton and its officials have really embraced us. We have teamed up with a great charity, Hampton Youth Association. The state boxing commission has been extremely encouraging and cooperative, ce qui, nettement, is not something we are used to and that’s been a breath of fresh air. We’re going to put on a good event and plan to be back more often next year.”

(Août 6, 2017) – Former New England welterweight champion Derek “Le chirurgien” Silveira defeated former world title challenger Michael “Sang-froid” Clark hier soir (Sat., Août. 5) dans le “Fight Night at the Bay” événement principal, présenté par Granite Chin Promotions, at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, Massachusetts.
Silveira (12-1, 6 KOs), of Salem MA) used his height and length advantage to out-box the much more experienced Clark (44-16-1, 18 KOs). Due to what appeared to be a broken right hand, Clark was unable to continue after six rounds.

Après le combat, Silveira got done on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Ashley Myers. (She accepted).

“I want to thank Michael Clark,” Silveria commented. “My buddy Martin passed away and this fight was for him. We’re back and can go as long as needed because I’m in better shape. I’m a smart fighter and I can counter guys. I hope to be back fighting Septembre 30in Boston.”

I respect her but I felt that I should implement my sharper skills. She fought hard and came at me. I thought she’d go flat in the later rounds but she didn’t.

“I’m always tough on myself, Wayne (Lopes, her trainer and husband) was happy. I feel that I should have taken it to her more and I got caught up in clinches too much. The heat was difficult, I felt heated before the fight. I was more tired than usual and I let her come in winging wild punches.”
New N. Et. Cruiserweight champion Chris Traietti
Iraq War veteran and Quincy’s favorite son, Chris Traietti (24-4, 19 KOs), who is also co-promoter of “Fight Night at the Bay”, pilonné Nick Lavin (5-6, 4 KOs) from the opening bell to capture the vacant New England Cruiserweight Championship by way of a decisive eight-round unanimous decision. Traietti teed-off on the over-matched Lavin for most of the fight, but his tough Connecticut opponent lasted to the very end.

U.S.. Marine veteran Brandon Montella (8-0, 7 KOs) est resté invaincu, registering three knockdowns against his Floridian opponent, mi-lourds “Argent” Mike Sawyer (7-9, 5 KOs), dans le second tour, comme arbitre Mike Ryan called the fight off right before the bell. Undefeated Irish junior middleweight Paddy Irwin (4-0, 3 KOs), fighting at home in Quincy, methodically broke-down Demetrius Thomas (0-5), dropping him with a right hand in the second round, and floored him with a flurry of punches en route to a third-round stoppage only moments later by referee Ryan.

Two-time Ecuador Olympian Carlos Gongora (9-0, 8 KOs), combats de Brooklyn (New York), thoroughly outclassed Texas journeyman Larry “Slow Motion” Forgeron (10-34-1, 7 KOs)by way of a fifth-round technical knockout. Gongora, a powerful southpaw promoted by Murphy’s Boxing, started the fight firing crisp combinations to the head and body of Smith, who took a knee for an eight-count in the opening round. The action slowed through the second and third frames, but Gongora picked up the pace in the fourth, as Smith took a knee again and survived another round. The undefeated Ecuadorian middleweight closed the snow in the fifth as referee Steve Clark halted the one-sided bout.

“It’s tough to fight here (NOUS.) for a world title. You almost always need to travel overseas. We’re limited here because of the required purse (for the defending champion to come to the states) and sanctioning fees for promoters in America. Women’s boxing is more popular in Europe, Mexico and parts of South America. But I have had a very good run and great relationships with New England promoters, who’ve put me on their cards.
“I think women’s boxing maybe, just maybe, will start changing if the trend continues as fighters such as Boucliers de Clarisse et Katie Taylor, women boxers who’ve made names in the Olympics, keep turning pro. Amanda Serrano has gotten some good exposure fighting on television, trop. We’ve had to travel for world title fights but, avec optimisme, things are changing for the better.”

Derek Silveira making up for lost time Headlining “Fight Night at the Bay”

(Juillet 18, 2017) – Former New England. champion poids welter Derek Silveira Is trying to make up for lost time, 3 ½ years of ring inactivity from the summer of 2013 until this past April, as he prepares to headline the August 5e “Fight Night at the Bay” carte, présenté par Granite Chin Promotions, at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, Massachusetts.
Silveira (12-1, 6 KOs), fighting out of Salem (MA), affrontera l'ancien challenger titre mondial Michael “Sang-froid” Clark (44-16-1, 18 KOs) en cas de huit tour.
The 31-year-old Silveira fought for a long time with bones spurs in his right elbow. He underwent surgery and later went to training camp in Las Vegas for a fight that, malheureusement, fell through. Puis, as a worker for a moving company, he fell through steps, resulting in torn labrum in his left hip. It took a terribly frustrating 1 ½ years for his insurance company to finally approve the operation, which was followed, bien sûr, by a lengthy therapy program.
“A long process,” Silveira said. “It was tough watching everybody fight while I was unable. I even had to watch guys fight for the New England title that I never lost in the ring but was unable to keep because I couldn’t fight.”
Silveira was a decorated New England amateur boxer with more than 300 allumettes, including six consecutive Central Mass (Lowell) Golden Gloves titles and two New England championships (he lost a decision one year to current world junior middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade), as well as multiple Rocky Marciano Tournament gold medals to go along with those he won at the Silver Mittens and Junior Olympics.
Maintenant 31 and having fought the past 20 ans, Silveira is hungry to prove himself on a grander scale, départ Août. 5 with Clark. “He will be a good test for me for a comparison to where I was in the past,” Silveira commented about his veteran opponent. “Clark is a veteran who fights on his toes. I used to watch him when he was on The Contender (televised realty show). My sparring partner back then was (la fin) Jeff Fraza, who also was on The Contender. It’ll be good to see where I am.
“I grew up as a boxer. I had huge legs, strong upper body, and good footwork. I played soccer as a kid. I lacked power. The last few years I’ve worked on my power.
