Falcao dominates Gutierrez; eager to face the best

Plant City, FL (Abril 2, 2018) – Rising star and WBC #13 rated middleweight Yamaguchi Falcao scored a one-sided eight round decision over tough veteran Richar Gutierrez Saturday, Marso 31 at the Marina Bay SportsPlex in Quincy, MA.

 

 

 

 

 

Fighting in front of a national audience on ESPN2, the bout got off to a strange start when Gutierrez was incorrectly credited with a knockdown in the opening seconds after stepping on Falcao’s foot then landing a punch. Ang 2012 Olympic medalist immediately got back on his feet and made Gutierrez pay the price from bell to bell.

 

 

 

 

Falcao dominated the fight with hard jabs and crisp straight lefts, scoring a knockdown in the closing moments of the fifth. The game Gutierrez attempted to throw Falcao off by regularly clinching and using roughhouse tactics but was unsuccessful.

KWARTA, Misa. (August 6, 2017) – Former New England welterweight champion Derek “The Surgeon” Silveira defeated former world title challenger Michael “Cold Dugo” Clark kagabii (Saturday, Aug. 5) sa “Fight Night at the Bay” main event, gipresentar sa mga Promosi nga Granite Chin, at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, Massachusetts.
Silveira (12-1, 6 KOs), of Salem MA) used his height and length advantage to out-box the much more experienced Clark (44-16-1, 18 KOs). Due to what appeared to be a broken right hand, Clark was unable to continue after six rounds.

Human sa away, Silveira got done on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Ashley Myers. (She accepted).

“I want to thank Michael Clark,” Silveria commented. “My buddy Martin passed away and this fight was for him. We’re back and can go as long as needed because I’m in better shape. I’m a smart fighter and I can counter guys. I hope to be back fighting September 30in Boston.”

Iraq War veteran and Quincy’s favorite son, Chris Traietti (24-4, 19 KOs), who is also co-promoter of “Fight Night at the Bay”, pounded Nick Lavin (5-6, 4 KOs) from the opening bell to capture the vacant New England Cruiserweight Championship by way of a decisive eight-round unanimous decision. Traietti teed-off on the over-matched Lavin for most of the fight, but his tough Connecticut opponent lasted to the very end.

Last September, Lopes lost a 10-round decision to Ewa Piatkowska (9-1) in Poland; she dropped a 10-round majority decision in Sweden to Mikaela Lauren (22-3) sa 2014. Sa 2013, Lopes lost a 10-round unanimous decision in Rhode Island to Tori Nelson (6-0-3) for the vacant International Boxing Association (IBA) World Welterweight Championship.

I need an experienced opponent like her to push me, to learn something new, and I always like to fight at home.
“It’s tough to fight here (U.S.) for a world title. You almost always need to travel overseas. We’re limited here because of the required purse (for the defending champion to come to the states) and sanctioning fees for promoters in America. Women’s boxing is more popular in Europe, Mexico and parts of South America. But I have had a very good run and great relationships with New England promoters, who’ve put me on their cards.
“I think women’s boxing maybe, just maybe, will start changing if the trend continues as fighters such as Clarissa Shields ug Katie Taylor, women boxers who’ve made names in the Olympics, keep turning pro. Amanda Serrano has gotten some good exposure fighting on television, usab. We’ve had to travel for world title fights but, unta, things are changing for the better.”

(Hulyo 18, 2017) – Former New England. welterweight champion Derek Silveira Is trying to make up for lost time, 3 ½ years of ring inactivity from the summer of 2013 until this past April, as he prepares to headline the August 5th “Fight Night at the Bay” card, gipresentar sa mga Promosi nga Granite Chin, at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, Massachusetts.

The 31-year-old Silveira fought for a long time with bones spurs in his right elbow. He underwent surgery and later went to training camp in Las Vegas for a fight that, Subo, fell through. It took a terribly frustrating 1 ½ years for his insurance company to finally approve the operation, which was followed, siyempre, by a lengthy therapy program.
“A long process,” Silveira said. “It was tough watching everybody fight while I was unable. I even had to watch guys fight for the New England title that I never lost in the ring but was unable to keep because I couldn’t fight.”
Silveira was a decorated New England amateur boxer with more than 300 posporo, including six consecutive Central Mass (Lowell) Golden Gloves titles and two New England championships (he lost a decision one year to current world junior middleweight champion Demetrio Andrade), as well as multiple Rocky Marciano Tournament gold medals to go along with those he won at the Silver Mittens and Junior Olympics.
Karon 31 and having fought the past 20 ka tuig, Silveira is hungry to prove himself on a grander scale, sugod Aug. 5 with Clark. “He will be a good test for me for a comparison to where I was in the past,” Silveira commented about his veteran opponent. “Clark is a veteran who fights on his toes. I used to watch him when he was on Ang Nakigtigi (televised realty show). My sparring partner back then was (sa ulahing bahin sa) Jeff Fraza, who also was on Ang Nakigtigi. It’ll be good to see where I am.
“I grew up as a boxer. I had huge legs, strong upper body, and good footwork. I played soccer as a kid. I lacked power. The last few years I’ve worked on my power.
