Wilfredo ‘Bimbito’ Méndez will fight for the WBA Fedelatin title

After winning the Universal Boxing Federation (UBF) vacant Las Americas title last December, Wilfredo ‘Bimbito’ Méndez (9-0, 4 KO sika) from Trujillo Alto, E-Puerto Rico, will seek a top ranking spot in the World Boxing Association (WBA ) when he faces Nicaraguan Leyman Benavides (13-6-1, 2 KO sika) for the vacant WBA Minimumweight Fedelatin title.

 

 

 

 

The Méndez-Benavides duel will take place on Saturday, March 17 at the Fiesta Hall of the Jaragua Hotel in Santo Domingo, I-Dominican Republic.

 

 

 

 

“The Fedelatin title is of upmost importance because it places the boxer in the top 15 of the WBA rankings and in a matter of two or three additional fights, the opportunity to go for the world title is very possible. We trust in ‘Bimbito’s’ skills so that on March 17, Puerto Rico will have another boxer close to a world title opportunity” said Raúl Pastrana, President of management company ‘Spartan Boxing Club’.

In his last fight in Santo Domingo, DR last December, Méndez defeated Dominican Republic’s Juan Guzmán (22-10, 12 KO) by TKO in the second round to capture the UBF belt.

Fajardo, E-Puerto Rico – After a successful 2017, WBA #15, Alfredo 'Iso’ Santiago and blue chip prospect, Subriel Matías Matthew, will be defending their respective undefeated records on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the Municipal Equestrian Park of Fajardo,PR as part of a card promoted by Fresh Productions.

 

 

Matías (8-0, 8 KO sika), will face Colombian and former world title challenger, Daulis Prescott (31-6, 23 KO sika) phakathi ku 10 rounds bout at the junior welterweight division.

Del Valle on bout with De La Hoya: “Expect fireworks”

Currently the International Boxing Federation’s #8 Olwa zibalwa, Del Valle scored 16 of yakhe 22 victories by knockout including nine within the first three rounds. This match marks the first WBC fight held in Aguas Buenas.

Del Valle excited for Tri State Area return

Bayamon, E-Puerto Rico (July 20, 2016) – As a teenager, Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle left his native Puerto Rico for Newburgh, NY where he resided for seven years. During his time in the Empire State amateur ranks, he made great strides in the ring and won multiple highly-competitive tournaments, most notably capturing the 2004 National Golden Gloves title.

As a pro, Del Valle had his first fight in New Jersey, hoisted the WBA-NABA championship in New York and Connecticut was the state that hosted his first appearance on HBO. Overall, half of his 24 professional fights took place in the tri state area and the bilingual Del Valle built a solid fan following. Nokho, he hasn’t fought in the area since 2012.

On August 27, that will change when Del Valle battles an opponent to be announced in a ten round super bantamweight bout at the Bayonne Pavilion in Bayonne, E-New Jersey.
