LACEY AND JONES TO VIE FOR FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE AT NEF 36

Portland, Maine (Septiembre 13, 2018) - Luchas de Nueva Inglaterra (NEF) llevará a cabo su evento final-de artes marciales mixtas de 2018, “NEF 36: Batalla por el oro,” en sábado, Noviembre 17 en el Aura en Portland, Maine. El día de hoy, the fight promotion announced the addition of a professional featherweight title fight to the card. Aaron “Implacable” Lacey (6-2) is scheduled to meet Bill Jones (13-10) for the vacant NEF Professional Featherweight Championship.

Lacey is coming off one of the biggest wins of his professional career to date. Last weekend at “NEF 35” before his hometown fans in Bangor, Maine, Lacey submitted Jon Lemke (7-9) just under two minutes into the first round. It was a rebound win for Lacey who lost a decision to a very tough Da’Mon Blackshear (5-2) earlier this summer in Portland. En “NEF 36,” Lacey will look to capture gold in the promotion for the second time – he won the NEF Amateur Featherweight Title at “NEF 20” en noviembre 2015 in what would be his final amateur fight. Lacey is a member of Young’s MMA based in Bangor.

“I’m excited to be fighting for this strap,” -exclamó Lacey. “I was NEF’s first amateur 145-pound champion and I look forward to being one of the first people to hold amateur and professional belts for New England Fights! I have a very formidable and experienced opponent, but this belt has been calling my name for a long time and I am going to take what I have worked for all along!"

Bill Jones is one of the pioneers of the New England MMA scene, having competed in the region since 2007. He holds wins over some of the top fighters ever to come out of the area such as UFC veteran Tateki Matsuda (13-9) and current UFC competitor Matt Bessette (22-9). Jones has competed at the national level for the World Series of Fighting (WSOF). Like Lacey, he also holds a first-round submission of Jon Lemke to his credit. En “NEF 33″ in Portland last spring, Jones was victorious over Matt Denning (5-8) via technical knockout in the second round. He is currently a member of Nostos MMA in Somersworth, New Hampshire.

Portland, Maine (Febrero 7, 2018) - Luchas de Nueva Inglaterra (NEF) regresa a Aura en Portland elAbril 14, 2018 con el siguiente evento mixto de artes marciales de la promoción lucha, “NEF 33: Aguas revueltas.” El día de hoy, NEF anunció la adición de una pelea por el título amateur de peso pluma a la cartelera. Taylor Costantino es un nativo de Long Island, Nueva York donde comenzó su carrera en MMA en 2011 después de ser coronado campeón de sambo estadounidense y panamericano. Después de mudarse a Maine, Costantino continuó entrenando e hizo su debut en NEF a principios 2016 con una victoria por nocaut técnico en 25 segundos sobre Frank Johanson (2-2). Actualmente, es miembro de Evolution Athletix con sede en Saco.

Lewiston, Maine (Junio 3, 2016) – It will be a celebration of all things Americana when New England Fights (NEF) returns to the Androscoggin Bank Colisée on Saturday, Junio 18, 2016. The wildly popular fight promotion will once again give fans a full night of mixed-martial-arts (MMA) and professional boxing action.

 

In the main event of the boxing portion of the fight card, Brandon “El Cañón” Berry (11-1-1) will defend the Northeast Junior Welterweight Title against challenger James “The Motor City Bad Boy” Lester (10-9-1). The two fought to a draw on the judges’ scorecards this past April in Lewiston. They agreed to rematch with Berry’s title on the line. Esta vez, sin embargo, there will be an odd number of rounds (seven to be exact) to make the chances of another draw very slim.

 

Also on the boxing portion of the card, former USA New England Middleweight Champion Russell “The Haitian Sensation” Lamour (13-2) y Casey “The Buzzsaw” Incómodo (4-0-1) from the Portland Boxing Club in Portland, Maine will both make their respective NEF Boxing debuts.

 

The professional MMA portion of the card will see Jesse “El Vikingo” Erickson (6-5) return to the cage after his third unsuccessful attempt at capturing the lightweight title this past April. Erickson will have his work cut out for him in the form of the always tough Amos Collins (4-5) at a catchweight of 161-pounds.

 

Erickson’s teammate, Mate “Ken Muñeca” Denning (3-2), will also see action on the professional MMA card when he meets Brandon Bushaw (1-2) en un combate de peso pluma.

HAITIAN SENSATION WILL MAKE NEF DEBUT ON JUNE 18

Lewiston, Maine (Mayo 31, 2016) – The Androscoggin Bank Colisée has a storied history of professional boxing inside the arena’s four walls. En Junio 18, Russell “The Haitian Sensation” Lamour, Jr. (13-2, 6 KOs) will add the next chapter to that story when he enters the New England Fights (NEF) ring for the first time. En “NEF 24: PROMISED LAND,” Lamour will make his NEF debut in a middleweight bout against Mexican veteran Roberto “El Viejo” Valenzuela (69-71-2, 56 KOs).

 

“Definitely excited to be making my NEF debut,” said Lamour. “NEF does a lot of shows here in Maine, and from what I hear it’s always a packed show. So I’m looking forward being on this card. I am excited about fighting at the Colisée ’cause I can then say that I fought in the same building that Muhammad Ali fought in and also that it’s right here at home in Maine. Fighting here at home again is always a great feeling, especially when you’re fighting in front of the people that support you the most. Can’t ask for anything better than that when fighting here in your backyard.”

 

Un nativo de Brooklyn, Nueva York, Lamour entered the Portland Boxing Club shortly after graduating from Deering High School in Portland, Maine. He had a stellar amateur boxing career, finishing with a record of 79-16. Among his numerous amateur accomplishments, Lamour was a five-time New England regional Golden Gloves champion. He competed in the semi-pro World Series of Boxing (WSB) where he was the number-one ranked middleweight in the Americas.

 

Lamour’s success carried over to the professional ranks where he won his first 11 extremos. Over the course of that impressive run, Lamour would capture the vacant USA New England Middleweight Title with a TKO victory over Laatekwei Hammond (21-6) in Lamour’s hometown of Portland, Maine. Lamour has competed on ESPN’s Viernes Night Fights before a national audience. El mes pasado, he scored a TKO win over Borngod Washington (3-17) in Salem, New Hampshire. Lamour hopes to make it two in a row with a win over Valenzuela on Junio 18.

 

“He is a journeymen,” Lamour said of his upcoming opponent. “He’s been fighting for a while and has seen many different styles, but to me he’s just someone else that’s in my pathway that I have to beat to get to where I want to be, so I have to get him out of my way.”

 

Roberto Valenzuela is no stranger to Maine fight fans. He travelled from his home in Sonora, Mexico to Lewiston, Maine last fall to battle Brandon “El Cañón” Berry (11-1-1). Valenzuela would lose the bout via unanimous decision, but he impressed all in attendance with his gritty performance, roughing up Berry and cutting him above the eye in the process. Valenzuela has faced the likes of former world champions Andre Berto (31-4, 24 KOs) y Steve Forbes (35-14, 11 KOs) y actual campeón del mundo Zahir Raheem (35-3, 21 KOs). He held the Mexican Pacific Coast Super Featherweight Title from 2003 a 2007.

 

“I am very excited to come back to Maine and fight again,” Valenzuela dijo a través de un traductor. “I love New England, and I’ve fought in Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont and Rhode Island during the course of my career.
