Khan Reigns Supreme – Topples Soloninkini, Now Eyes Further Title Challenges

Bradford’s sensational Bantamweight prospect Tasif Khan secured his first Championship accolade, Internationella Masters bantamvikt titel, when he beat Georgia’s Mikheil Soloninkini by unanimous points decision at the iconic York Hall in London last Saturday night.

 

What really makes this achievement even more special is that Khan only returned to the ring in January this year, efter en två år sabbatsår från sporten.

 

On his return in January Khan scored a decisive first round stoppage victory, over the highly experienced Hungarian Richard Voros, in a bout that also took place at the York Hall.

 

Khan followed that win up with an equally impressive first round stoppage victory, over Czech Republic’s Ladislav Miko, six weeks later in Liverpool.

 

Förra lördagen, whilst it seems everyone else were preparing for the Mayweather-Pacquiao super fight, Khan was taking part in the biggest fight of his career to date.

 

Right from the off Khan boxed beautifully behind his solid jab to keep his slightly more experienced foe on the back foot.

 

By midway point Khan began to slow the pace, whilst continuing to keep full pressure on Soloninkini.

 

Midway through the sixth round, during a rather hectic exchange Khan was a little slow bringing up his gloves, which opened the door for Soloninkini, who let rip with a big right to send Khan to the canvas.

 

On the restart Soloninkini when in hard in an attempt to finish the still slightly wobbly legged Khan, however the Bradford lad remained calm and collected, whilst the hyper Georgian continued to come forward throwing huge bombs.

 

During a number of these skirmishes Khan sensibly grabbed hold until referee Lee Murtagh issued the order break. This tactic allowed Khan a little time in order to clear his head.

 

Soloninkini continued to push hard for the final three rounds, however Khan is one seriously cool character, he just got behind his jab and just plain boxed his way out of danger, each time the Georgian made a forceful foray.

 

After ten rounds of first class boxing from Khan, judges Ken Curtis 99-94, Obie Garnett 98-90 och Matt Hamilton 98-91, all scored in favour of the new International Masters Champion Tasif Khan.

 

Speaking from his home earlier Khan spoke about the fight as well as hinted at further Championship forays in the near future.

 

"Yeah, I won my first title.

 

It’s been my dream since I was a kid, vinna en titel, hopefully this will be the first of many, framåt och uppåt.

 

Saying that I don’t want to take away the importance of being the International Masters Champion, that was like winning a World title to me that night.

 

I’ve had a tough two and half years, I’ve come through it, got back fighting this year and now have a belt, yeah I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved.

 

I was absolutely fine coming into the fight, training went well, I went away with Nadeem Siddique one of my coaches, he’s a professional himself. I had a good training camp abroad, went to Greece,

 

Came into the fight brilliant, working of my jab, using my jab more as I felt I had a good chance, I was finding it quite comfortable to be honest, I was finding him quite easily with the jab.

 

He was a tough kid, took some good shots to the body, I found I could walk him down, then I think it was either the third or fourth round I overstretched my right arm, I felt at the time I must have damaged my shoulder, I tried not to show it, but as the rounds went on I struggled to throw big shots.

 

It wasn’t hurting, it did limit me on my shots as the fight went on, but I think I got a little complacent and gave him the opportunity to catch me with a good shot, it didn’t hurt me at all, but had to see that round through, because I had won every single round but that round, I boxed smart and stayed at a distance when I could and other times let him punch himself out.

 

To be honest I feel I could have stopped him, with all the pressure and that decided to just box my way through.

 

I’m really appreciative of my fans as always, they travel down to London in numbers, if all goes well though my next fight will be a lot nearer to home, maybe even Bradford, but I’m always grateful to my fans, even those that are unable to travel to watch me fight in London or Liverpool.

 

Since day one I’ve had good support, a great fan base, but fighting away all the time makes it hard for everyone to be at every fight, so I’d really love to do something big in Bradford, or at least more local and fingers crossed we’ll get a big title on that show.

 

I’d like to thank all my team, Martin Stainsby, Bee, Junior Witter, River (Gianluca Di Caro), Johnny Eames and all those that work behind the scene, I can’t forget to mention my Missus, she puts in all the hard work and puts up with me when I’m on a diet and my family, who have all been so supportive.

 

Before I forget I want to make a comment, I’ve been boxing since the age of ten, I made my mind up as the years went on that I wanted to really do something in Boxing, I had no intention of just making up the numbers, I had no option, I want to do well and win titles, I want to put Bradford on the map, winning the International Masters title has put me in the right direction, as such I want to dedicate the win to my eldest brother Tahir Khan, because if it wasn’t for him pointing me in the right direction, he’d keep me fit and take me to the gym, he’s the first person to totally support me in boxing, always been there for me and he’s the one that made all this possible.

 

As I say if it wasn’t for Tahir, I wouldn’t be in boxing and I wouldn’t have this International Masters belt, thank you for everything Tahir, really appreciate everything you’ve done for me.

Slagsmål Rapportera: Ozgul and Khan Secure Titles In York Hall Thriller

Låt oss inse det, with the amount of column inches dedicated to Mayweather-Pacquiao over the past few weeks, you could easily be forgiven thinking that there were no other boxing events that took place on May 2nd.

Bra, there was another fight card, and I’m pleased to say that I was at that event – the Mark Lyons and Billy James-Elliott promoted Lords of the Ring event at the iconic York Hall in London.

 

OK, admittedly York Hall in Bethnal Green doesn’t have anywhere near the cachet of being at such a mega fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but when it comes to drama and excitement, sorry you just can’t beat small hall boxing, especially when it’s at York Hall.

 

When the event was announced it was due to feature fourteen bouts, but immediately after May-Pac was announced a significant number of the bouts were cancelled, as the fighters wanted to be ringside in Vegas, then in the final build up further fights were off the card, due to injuries, leaving a seven card fight show on the night, or was it.

 

The card was further reduced on the day, after one of the fights was cancelled on safety grounds – due to a 5kg difference in the weight between the two debuting fighters – and if that wasn’t bad enough Manny Muhammad’s opponent, Rafael Snow failed to turn up, leaving just five fights on the night.

 

First up was a six rounder between Liverpool based Russian hot prospect David Agadzhanyan, against Czech Republic’s Josef Redlich, who stepped in at the last minute to save the bout, following Ghana’s Isaac Owusu being forced to pull out due to illness.

 

It took Agadzhanyan just forty five seconds to send Redlich to the canvas for the first time and about the same again to put him down a second time.

 

Redlich was plain outclassed so no surprise that when he went down for the third time that referee Ken Curtis decided to call a halt to proceedings on the two minute and twenty five seconds mark.

 

I’ve seen Agadzhanyan in action a couple of times, including the excellent win over then unbeaten Daniel Bazo back in March, so was really looking forward to seeing him in action against Owusu, a tough uncompromising former Ghanaian Champion and Commonwealth title eliminator challenger, but that’ll have to wait until later this month when the rescheduled bout takes place in Liverpool.

 

Next up was WBF Inter-Continental Champion Paul Economides, i en icke-mästerskap sex rundare, against another late replacement, Czech Republic’s Petr Gyna, following former British Champ Andy Bell pulling out the week prior and then the original replacement pulling out just two days before the show.

 

Economides is another class act, so no surprise that Gyna was on the canvas within just thirty seconds, on the restart Gyna decided that attack is the best form of defense, however in taking the fight to Economides he played straight into his hands, literally as Economides punished him with a big right, that sent the Czech down to the canvas for a second and final time, on the one minute and twenty five second mark.

 

With both the opening fights finishing early and the live TV broadcast not due to start until 9pm, the promoters had no option but to have quite long interval before the next bout, a six round Light Heavyweight contest between Champions TKO’s unbeaten Hackney based Turkish prospect Onder Ozgul and the entertainer himself Jody Meikle.

 

Throughout the first four rounds Ozgul just walked Meikle down, letting rip with massive right hands at every conceivable opportunity, Meikle is as tough as they come and seemed content to absorb the punishment dished out by the man dubbed ‘Little Mike’ by the Turkish fans.

 

Ever the joker, Meikle played down the punishment he was taking, happily playing to the crowd, as well as infuriating his opponent, by pulling faces and insinuating that there was no power in the Turkish lads shots, however by the fact that Meikle had toned down his antics, clearly showed that Ozgul shots were indeed having the desired effect.

 

Meikle toned down the playfulness of his tactics even further in the fifth, as Ozgul stepped up his attacks, putting even more power into his shots.

 

Right from the start of the sixth it was clear that Ozgul was intent on punishing Meikle even further, backing the Scunthorpe man onto the ropes before letting rip with big double handed flurries, one of which, a cracking body shot, literally knocking the wind out of Meikle and forcing him to take to one knee.

 

On the restart Ozgul went in for the finish, this time Meikle went defensive, no further playing to the crowd, to see it through to the final bell.

 

After six highly entertaining rounds Referee Ken Curtis scored the bout 60-53 in favour of Ozgul.

 

I thoroughly enjoyed the fight, I know it wasn’t a classic, but boy oh boy it was very entertaining.

 

The fourth bout of the night see Bradford’s Tasif Khan in Championship action for the first time, against Georgia’s Mikheil Soloninkini, for the International Masters Silver bantamweight title.

 

Khan started fast, boxing beautifully behind his jab the Bradford man kept his slightly more experienced foe on the back foot for the majority of the bout.

 

By midway point Khan slowed the pace slightly, at the same time keeping the pressure on Soloninkini, however about midway through the sixth, during a routine exchange Khan was a little slow bringing up his gloves, leaving an opening for the Georgian to let rip with a big right, which sent Khan to the canvas.

 

On the restart Soloninkini went full out in attack, Khan remained calm and got behind his jab again, the Georgian was well hyped and continued to come forward at pace before throwing huge bombs.

 

During these skirmishes Khan sensibly grabbed hold until referee Lee Murtagh issued the order break. This tactic worked and Khan was able to clear his head enough to turn control back round to himself.

 

Khan had his hands full for the final three rounds though, as Soloninkini had the bit between his teeth and was pushing hard, however Khan is a cool character and seemed content to box of the back foot each time the Georgian made a forceful foray.

 

After ten rounds of excellent boxing, the judges scorecards read – Ken Curtis 99-94, Obie Garnett 98-90 och Matt Hamilton 98-91, all in favour of Tasif Khan.

 

Jennifer Burton, the Northern Region Secretary of the Malta Boxing Commission, presented the familiar blue International Masters belt to the victorious Tasif Khan.

 

Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the fight, even though it was quite one sided for a lot of the time, let’s face it that’s not a statement on the quality of Soloninkini, as his pedigree is well known, this kid’s a tough nut to break, as proved by having taken Jamie Williams the distance, when they fought for the Bronze Masters back in March, as well as fought the sensational Charlie Edwards a couple of weeks later, but to my mind the one-sidedness of the fight as well as the result shows just how good Tasif Khan fought.

 

The headline fight of the night see a rematch between Champions TKO’s unbeaten Hackney based Turkish prospect Siar Ozgul, yep brother to the aforementioned Onder, against Nottingham’s Matt Scriven and this time there was a Championship on the line – The MBC International Welterweight title.

 

When these two first fought, back in October last year, it was an out and out war, Ozgul won but the rounds were so close it could have been a very different result.

 

The bout started in a very similar manner to their October showdown, neither man wanting to concede any ground, however just before the end of the first round Ozgul let rip with a massive right to Scriven’s body, which forced the Nottingham man to cover up to see the round to it’s conclusion.

 

The shot to the body must have really hurt Scriven as he seemed more intent on defense, rather than full on attack, from the start of the second, a pattern that remained for the rest of the bout.

 

Ozgul made most of the running throughout, however Scriven more than held his own during the many skirmishes that ensued, although have to admit he was a little more cautious than during the opening round.

 

After ten rounds of superb boxing the judges scorecards were read out – Lee Murtagh and Matt Hamilton scored the bout 100-90 and Obie Garnett 100-88 all in favour of Siar Ozgul.

 

This was followed by the presentation of the MBC International belt to Siar Ozgul by his fellow Champions TKO gym mate and the current MBC International Super Bantamweight Champion Marianne Marston.

 

All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the event, especially the final three bouts, however I was a bit disappointed that some of the planned fights, such as those featuring Iain Weaver, Antonio Counihan, Mark Prince, George Hillyard and the aforementioned Marianne Marston, failed to materialize, because to my mind if they had taken place I feel this almost certainly would have been one of the best shows at York Hall this year, as it was it still was a highly enjoyable and entertaining evening of pugilistic action and a fitting prelude to the May-Pac fight, which promoters Mark Lyons and Billy James-Elliott arranged for the boxers, their teams and attendees of the event to watch live via satellite at a private function room.

Khan-Soloninkini Battle For Title Supremacy In London This Saturday

Bradford’s exciting Bantamweight prospect TASIF KHAN is set to challenge for his first title denna lördag, when he takes on Georgian #1 ranked MIKHEIL SOLONINKINI, for the vacant International Masters Silver Bantamweight Championship, on the Mark Lyons and Billy James-Elliott promoted LORDS OF THE RING event at the iconic York Hall, in Bethnal Green, London on May 2nd.

 

Khan earned the title shot with a pair of sensational first round stoppage wins earlier this year, following his return from a two year sabbatical from the sport.

 

In January this year, Khan dispatched Hungarian #2 ranked Richard Voros in just one minute and five seconds of the first round at the York Hall, then two months later followed up with an almost identical stoppage victory, this time in one minute and fifteen seconds of the first round, over the Czech Republic’s Ladislav Miko at the Grand Central Hall in Liverpool.

 

Originally Khan was to face Patrik Bartos, however the Czech lad was TKO’d by Andrew Cain, on the undercard of Derry Mathews WBA title fight, at the Echo Arena, a couple of weeks ago.

 

Bartos’ replacement, Mikheil Soloninkini, has been quite a regular figure on the UK scene, having fought here four times in the past year, including an unsuccessful challenge for the International Masters Bronze title, which he lost out on points to Jamie Williams back in March.

 

Speaking from his home earlier, Khan appeared unperturbed with the late change of opponent.

 

“It’s a shame, I had been preparing for Patrik Bartos, but what can I say he got stopped and has a twenty eight day suspension, these things happen.

 

I would have preferred if we’d known earlier who was going to replace Patrik, but three potential opponents backed out last week and then a fourth that had been proposed got knocked back by the MBC as not suitable.

 

Luckily though this new lad agreed terms på tisdag and now the fight is set and ready to go, Jag kan inte vänta.

 

I’m not expecting it to be a quick finish like the past two fights, they were four and six rounders, this time I’ll have to pace myself just in case I have to go the full ten rounds, but if the chance comes, I’ll take him out early.

 

Trainings been great, always is, Jag är redo och raring att gå, can’t wait.

 

My fans are great so far this year they’ve come out in force to support me in London and Liverpool and Saturday they’ll be back in London again, I can’t thank them enough, they’re a great bunch that really get behind me, making plenty of noise, letting me know that they’re there, they’re really are brilliant and I’ll thank them the best way I know, winning the title.

Championship Boxing At York Hall Followed By Mayweather-Pacquiao Live Via Satellite This Saturday.

Have you got your tickets for the Boxing event of the Century yet? Ozgul-Scriven II – Title On The Line For May 2nd York Hall Rematch

Back in October last year unbeaten Hackney based Turk Siar Ozgul and late replacement opponent Matt Scriven campaigned in one of the closest, alla åtgärder, battles of the year.

 

It was a true small hall classic that really deserved at least to be nominated for the accolade of ‘Fight of The Year’, if not be the outright winner, however that was not to be as somehow it managed to slip under the radar of the majority of the British media.

 

On Saturday May 2nd, these magnificent warriors will once again enter the arena, vid York Hall i Bethnal Green, London, this time in a ten round contest and with the added incentive of a Championship being on the line – the vacant MBC International Welterweight title – on the Mark Lyons and Billy James-Elliott promoted LORDS OF THE RING event.

 

The October Ozgul-Scriven Battle Boyale was reminiscent of the first of the Mickey Ward-Arturo Gatti trilogy of fights that took place in 2002/3, without doubt one of the all time greatest trilogy of fights this sport has ever witnessed.

 

If Ozgul-Scriven II matches the intensity and drama of their first encounter, we could well have another action filled bout, one that equals any of the Ward-Gatti fights, right here in our own back yard, something no boxing fan, or British sports writer should miss.

Vilken kamp, without doubt the fight of the night, as both protagonists went to war.

 

Ozgul came out hard and strong, initially putting the Nottingham man on the back foot, however Scriven soon started to exert his authority and then the fireworks really began.

 

By the third round the non stop action started to take it’s toll on the Turkish youngster, which allowed Scriven to land some sensational power shots of his own.

Once the errant mouth guard was retrieved and the bout restarted it was Scriven who went hard on the attack, one such attack late on in the round see Scriven land a massive right that shook Ozgul to the core, Ozgul sensibly went on the defensive for the remaining seconds to see his way to securing his fifth win.

Haywood Set For Pepper Showdown On May 2nd

Champions TKO’s Jerome Haywood is set to face Scunthorpe’s Matthew Pepper on the Mark Lyons and Billy James-Elliott Wise Guys Promotions LORDS OF THE RING event, which takes place at York Hall in Bethnal Green, London på lördag 2nd Maj 2015.

 

Jerome will be making his return to York Hall, the scene of his successful professional debut in October last year, where he scored a well earned points victory over Rolandas Cesna.

 

Tillbaka i oktober, after a slightly hesitant start, Haywood soon settled down and took the fight to his more experienced opponent, pressuring the big Lithuanian with stiff jabs and heavy rights to the body.

 

Haywood’s work to the body began to take a toll on Cesna, so much so that by mid way through the third Cesna was clearly struggling to cope with the constant punishment to his ribs.

 

In the fourth Haywood stepped up the pressure even further, which in turn forced Cesna to cover up to protect his bruised and battered ribcage.

 

After four excellent rounds Referee Alf Sprung scored the bout 40-38 in favour of Haywood.

 

Haywood’s opponent on May 2nd is Scunthorpe’s Matthew Pepper, who will be making his first visit to the famous home of boxing in the Capital City.

 

Following a training session, under the watchful eyes of his coach Brian O’Shaughnessy at the Champions TKO gym in Hackney, Haywood spoke briefly about the upcoming showdown with Matthew Pepper.

 

“Glad to be fighting again, it’s been six months since my debut fight.

 

Efter min sista match, I was hoping to get out again as soon as possible and I should have, I was due to fight in March, but had to pull out of that one as I came down with a bug about a week or so before I was due to fight.

 

My first fight, yeah I enjoyed that, I was well prepared for it, he was tough but nothing I couldn’t handle.

 

I don’t know too much about Matthew (Pepper), but we’ve been working hard in the gym, so hopefully I’ll put a good performance in for my fans, who I can’t thank enough for their fantastic support.”

Turkish Prospect Ozgul Set For London Showdown With Miekle On May 2nd

Champions TKO Gym’s unbeaten Light Heavyweight prospect Onder Ozgul is set to make his fifth professional outing in just over a weeks time, when he takes on the highly entertaining Jody Meikle, from Scunthorpe, in a six round contest, on the Mark Lyons and Billy James-Elliott Wise Guys Promotions LORDS OF THE RING event at York Hall in London on Saturday 2nd Maj 2015.

Ozgul, has built quite a reputation, as a seriously tough and uncompromising boxer, over the past year or so, following top class victories over the likes of Lithuania’s Dmitrij Kalinovskij, Bighton’s Iain Jackson, Lithuania’s Remigijus Ziausys and most recently over the Czech Republic’s big punching Karel Horejsek.

With a boxing style and approach uncannily similar to that of a certain ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that Ozgul’s Turkish fans have nicknamed their man ‘Little Mike’, a name that the British fans that have seen him in action have started to adopt too.

That aside, Ozgul’s resolve could be mightily tested by Miekle, who last time out scored a good solid draw against Portsmouth bruiser Sam Couzens, no surprise there as the Lincolnshire man not only likes a good old fashioned toe-to-toe slug fest, but also has a very entertaining mischievous streak.

Speaking at the famed Champions TKO Gym in Hackney, Ozgul spoke briefly about the upcoming showdown with the man they call ‘The Entertainer’.

“I’m happy I am fighting a six rounder, I’d be happy if it was an eight, I train for twelve rounds, so six is easy for me.

 

The way we look at it is if you can run a marathon, then running a half marathon is easy, that’s why we work so hard in the gym, so it is easy in the ring.

 

My last fight I trained hard, I trained for twelve rounds then too, the opponent was strong and durable but it was still an easy fight for me.

 

It will be the same next week, I will be ready for whatever Jody Meikle brings, I’ve been told Jody is tough, good that means we’ll have a very good fight.

 

I’m really happy that my brother Siar has got a title fight on May 2nd and even happier that I will be fighting on the undercard of his title fight and hope that everyone comes out and gives us both their full support.

Bra start på året – Sju vinster av sju för TKO

Vi får bara vara bara fyrtio dagar eller så in i det nya året, men Johnny Eames och Champions TKO laget är redan mycket, mycket nöjda med hur allt går för dem i 2015. Först ut, De säkrade nya lokaler för den berömda gym och nu drygt två veckor in i nya Boxning året har haft en sträng med sju segrar för deras ständigt växande stall av boxare.

 

Tidigare idag den tidigare nämnda Mr. Eames tog lite tid ut från hans fullspäckade schema för att prata om den utmärkt start på året, för hans mycket begåvade unga utsikter.

 

"Yeah, vad en bra start på året för Champions TKO pojkar de.

 

Först upp hade vi fyra pojkar vid York Hall på 30th Januari, tyvärr jag inte kunde komma till showen eftersom min panna brast och mitt hus var översvämmade, men jag höll kontakten med alla att se till att pojkarna var okej.

 

Först i aktion var Antonio Counihan och från vad jag hörde att han satte i en annan fantastisk prestation, slutade sin motståndare i den tredje, efter att ha dominerat kampen från början.

 

Som utlovat har han nu ett åtta rundare i sin nästa match, på Stephen Vaughan utställning i Liverpool på 20th Mars.

 

Sen förhoppningsvis han ska få göra något i Birmingham för en MBC Internationell titel eller liknande.

 

Nästa upp på att visa var TASIF Khan, Pojken gjorde han skaka rost off, kort och svett, slutade sin motståndare på bara sextiofem sekunder.

 

Från vad jag hörde satte han på en fantastisk, rensad jag missade det, men förhoppningsvis får se honom nästa gång han är ute, som också är på Stephen Vaughan Liverpool show mars.

 

Tydligen kampen i natten var vår Onder Ozgul s, den verkliga barnstormer Rio (TKO Gianluca Di Caro) sa, alla åtgärder och i ett högt tempo som vanligt från Onder.

 

Den här killen är redo att flytta till sex brännboll nu, som sin bror Siar, att vara ärlig med dig.

 

Som jag sa bara Siar gjorde sin första sex rundare, återigen en sprickbildning kamp med alla konton, alla är så nöjd med sin prestation på natten.

 

Det låter som han har lärt sig att bedöma hans tempo nu, snarare än att gå hammare och tänger för hela sex omgångar, Han paced sig fint för hela sex omgångar.

 

På följande natten hade vi Charlie Edwards, gör sin debut, och Tommy Martin kämpa för den engelska titeln på O2.

 

Charlie, vad kan jag säga att han var f ** king enorm.

 

För ett barn som har sin professionella debut, Jag var så imponerad av hans attityd och professionalism, Han vacklade aldrig från vad han hade att göra och tillfälle fick aldrig till honom.

 

När han kom i ringen han var trevlig och cool, lyssnade på varje ord som Brian (tränare Brian O'Shaughnessy) sa.

 

Jag sa till honom att han inte behövde imponera, eftersom han är väldigt bra ändå, så ingen anledning att försöka vara bra, som han är.

 

Det var en helt perfekt match för hans första slagsmål, inte en walkover att några av de stora namnen får, Han var en mycket tuff grabb, som kom att kämpa och verkligen trodde att han kunde vinna, som spelade rakt in Charlies händer.

 

Grabben fick en systematisk stryk av runda 03:59, men som inte tar bort från barnens egen insats, eftersom han försökte verkligen och sedan Charlie fångade honom bra med cirka sex sekunder för att gå och det var det.

 

Det var bara otroligt, otroligt Jag var bara så imponerad Charlie.

 

Sedan hade vi vår Tommy Martin, vad kan jag säga här killen gick in i vårt gym två och ett halvt år sedan nu, bara arton år gammal och jag tog en liten chansning på honom och jag sa till sin pappa efter hans första slagsmål, faktiskt innan kampen att jag skulle garantera honom tio segrar och sedan ska jag låta honom ledningen, Vi levererade från vår ände, vi fick honom tio av tio.

 

Jag måste erkänna att jag var nervös att gå in i kampen, uppenbarligen ha tränat sin motståndare, Ricky Boylan, tidigare så visste Ricky är en tuff grabb och trodde att han kanske Outman Tommy, men det var helt tvärtom, Tommy outmanned honom att vara rättvis.

 

Tommy saktade runt den sjätte omgången och jag var orolig att han hade lämnat något i gymmet, men inga problem han kom tillbaka starkare.

 

Jag kan ärligt säga att jag tror att Tommy bara förlorat två omgångar, kanske en eller två kunde ha delat, men det skulle vara att vara snäll mot Ricky, det är hur mycket Tommy dominerade kampen.

 

Poängen var 99-92 och 97-93 två gånger, som ni kan se att de var massivt förmån för Tommy och med rätta.

 

Fair play till Ricky han slutade aldrig komma, som vi visste skulle han, men för mig Ricky inte hade tillräckligt rörelse, han rörde sig huvudet när utanför området men var inte när han behövde.

 

Nu till vår senaste debutant, Mickey O'Rourke, men först måste jag tacka alla fans som dök upp för honom.

 

Han sålde, två hundra tjugu biljetter men mer dök upp och köpte biljetter på natten, så förmodligen hade ungefär två femtio varv ut för att stödja honom.

 

De var stora, mycket, mycket fränare, de gjorde det en stor kväll för honom.

 

Mickey var lite nervös i första omgången, när han kom tillbaka till hörnet Brian (tränare Brian O'Shaughnessy) sorteras ut honom.

 

Hursomhelst han fortfarande vann den första omgången bekvämt, den andra ungen gjorde det svårt för honom, som att hålla hela tiden, men Mickey förnekas allt han försökte göra.

 

Lyckligtvis domaren var också snabb att bryta upp dem varje gång ungen tog Mickey, plus vi fick Mickey att släppa taget med mer än ett skott för att hålla honom från att komma in för att gripa honom.

 

Han vann matchen 40-36 men sättet han boxades i sista omgången den andra ungen gjorde rätt i att hålla på till slutet.

 

I rättvisans namn ungen kom fram till mig efter kampen och sa "Johnny ledsen men om jag inte hålla honom, han skulle ha stoppat mig. "

 

Jag är nöjd med det, Han gjorde bara sitt jobb och jag tror Musse lärde mig mycket av kampen.

 

Fansen älskade det, den första omgången som sagt var lite nervig men de kommande tre omgångarna var spännande, Musse kommer att bli en folkmassa glädjande fighter, det finns ingen tvekan om det, och jag är glad att vara en del av resan.

 

Min kompis Colin skickade honom till mig och han har varit mycket väl skolad vid Dale Ungdom, vilket har gjort mitt jobb lite lättare och jag ser fram emot hans nästa match på 21st Mars.

 

Jag hoppas att alla fans som deltog komma igen, eftersom han behöver allt stöd han kan få så utan biljettförsäljning resan stannar och detta barn för bra för att det ska ske.

FIGHT RAPPORT - Hillyard SÄKRAR WBU CROWN, OZGUL BROTHERS, Khan och Counihan IMPRESS I STIL

På fredag natt boxning fans från hela landet gjorde sin årliga pilgrimsfärd till York Hall i London för första händelsen, den Shaym Batra främjas, WBU Championship headed, LEGENDS & FRAMTIDSUTSIKTER, i huvudstaden i 2015.

Det kan bara ha varit fem matcher, efter förlusten av både svenska Pierre Karam, som misslyckades med att få visum i tid för att tävla om WBU International Heavyweight titel, och Storbritanniens egen Steven Bendall, vars motståndare föll genom i sista minuten, men fansen, inklusive de som rest hela vägen ner från Birmingham, Stöd till Antonio Counihan, och Bradford, att stödja TASIF Khan, måste ha känt att det var väl värt det, eftersom det var en verkligt minnesvärd kväll för boxning.

Rubrik upp showen var Nazeing, Essex George "Hit Hard" Hillyard mot en sen ersättare i Tjeckien Michal Vosyka.

Från utanför det Vosyka ta kontroll över förfarandet, den tjeckiska fighter stilfullt dominerade den tidiga delen av öppningsrundan, arbetar utanför sin mäktiga vänster jab att hålla Hillyard på säkert avstånd.

Hillyard, var mer än nöjda med att bida sin tid som Vosyka flyttade runt ringen snärta hans jab på Hillyard så fort han gjorde alla försök att stänga avståndet.

I en blixt lät Hillyard rip på desorienterade Vosyka med en sensationell dubbel hänt misshandel att skicka ner honom till duken.

Vosyka boxades vackert i öppnings minut eller så i den andra strofen, om än lite mer försiktigt, hans ständiga starka stötar och dubbla hänt kastbyar lämnade Hillyard inget annat val än att spela avvaktande gång, söker en öppning så att han kunde låta en stor högra hand gå.

Mer av samma i den tredje, men som i den första Vosyka gjorde det fatala misstaget att ge Hillyard möjlighet att kapitalisera på en öppning, Hillyard s nrslouch, han var där som en blixt, låta rip först med en stor höger och sedan en dubbel hänt fördämningen till skicka Vosyka till duken för andra gången.

Vosyka var mycket, mycket mer försiktiga i det fjärde, Han var också mer öppet än tidigare, som gav Hillyard ännu fler möjligheter att straffa honom big time.

Hillyard backas Vosyka mot hörnet innan låta rip med kraftfulla vänstern och rättigheter innan låta rip med en blixt snabb vänster till kroppen, Vosyka hade inget annat val än att ta till ett knä, för att få hans andedräkt tillbaka.

Chief stöd se den eleganta, obesegrad, Hackney baserade Turk Siar Ozgul avgå en vikt Welter samt åtar hans första sex rundare, mot super hård konkurrens i form av Tjeckiens Vladimir Fecko.

 

Redan från off Ozgul säkrade kontrollen över centrumring, utnyttjar sin allvar starka jab till stor effekt, Fecko men var inriktad på brottning kontroll från den unga Turk, vilket leder till några fantastiska tå till tå åtgärder.

 

Båda huvudpersonerna ökat takten i den andra strofen, Ozgul verkligen verkade komma in i ett flöde, låter sig göra några anständiga öppningar för att testa duglighet i den tjeckiska lad, när han lät slita med solida kroppen skott.

Utan tvekan kampen i natten, yngre syskon s Siar kamp var första klass, men Onder var till en annan nivå helt och hållet.

 

Det var en ut och krig, det var allt action från början till slut, med varken huvudpersonen är villig att medge någon som helst grund.

 

För de fullständiga tolv minuter av ringtiden, dessa två gick bara hammare och tång på varandra och för stor mängd av tid de verkade bundna till varandra som de kämpade ut på nära håll.

 

Beröm måste slösade på både Ozgul och Horejsek för en sådan magnifik uppvisning av de pugilistisk konsterna, tyvärr måste det finnas en vinnare och en förlorare och det kom inte som någon överraskning för någon att domaren Ken Curtis gjorde varje runda till förmån för Ozgul, så gott som varje punsch han kastade inte bara landat men var överlägset mest meningsfulla, Men som sagt att du inte kan ta bort något från den tjeckiska lad som han gjorde denna kamp vad det var, han verkligen kom med en intention, att vinna, just den här gången var han mot en av de tuffaste Ljus tungviktare runt, väl de turkiska fansen inte kallar Onder "Little" Mike (en jämförelse i stil med "Iron" Mike Tyson) för ingenting.

 

Den andra kampen av natten se återkomst Bradford s TASIF Khan till ringen, efter en två år sabbatsår från sporten, där han möter Richard Voros, en mycket erfaren boxare och kick-boxare från Ungern, i en fyra runda Super Bantamvikt tävling.

 

Voros sprungit ur sitt hörn så snart öppnings ringde och gick rakt på attacken, tvingar Khan att täcka upp, men det inte ta Khan för lång tid att vända, med en god stark stöt, innan låta rip med en förförisk dubbelhänt uppsjö, vilket tvingade den ungerska för att täcka upp.

 

Med lite mellan hans tänder Khan tog full fördel genom att låta rip med supersnabb kombinationer efter behag.

 

Kraften och noggrannhet Khans skott utdelning nästan omedelbart och på omkring trettio andra varumärket Voros blev unceremoniously skickades till duken för första gången med en massiv rättighet.

Counihan, som kom in i kampen med en obesegrad i fyra pro utflykter rekord, sätta i en annan Världsklass prestanda, ja här grabben är så bra, Låg out-boxning, en tjugofem kamp veteran, med lätthet från början till den tidiga avslut.

 

Counihan kontrollerade matchen från början, i att göra så lyfte de färdigheter som inte bara gav honom en plats på Englands amatör truppen men även utmärkelsen bli Englands lagkapten.

 

Avrundar ett och två var mer som en utställning av Counihan, synes plocka bort hans mer erfarna motståndare till mods, hans slag var kliniskt och kraftfull till det extrema, så mycket så att Kis gjorde ett besök på duken i både första och andra omgången.

 

Genom halvvägs in i tredje Counihan ökat takten lite, i att göra så satte Kis sätt utanför hans komfortzon att den ungerska hade inget annat val än att bara täcka upp och hoppas att han kunde göra det till slutet av rundan, tyvärr för honom utan framgång, som på två minuters och femton andra varumärket Counihan landade en lyckosamma höger för att skicka Kis till däck för tredje och sista gången.

 

Den Brummie unge har verkligen tagit till pro spelet i stil, Liten är ingen walkover, genom en longshot ännu Counihan gjorde det ser alldeles för enkelt och hans rekord ligger nu på fem matcher, fem segrar, fyra av stopp avslut.

 

Dessa var stora föreställningar, inte bara från hemma fighters, beröm måste gå till alla motståndare för, mer så för att de tycker om Karel Horejsek och Vladimir Fecko, som verkligen gjorde ta med sig ett spel, men var och en av motståndarna kom och gjorde sitt bästa, Precis Counihan, Khan, de Ozgul bröder och Hillyard var bara vanlig sensationella på natten.

De Incredible Fighting turkar - Ozgul Brothers Return To York Hall On 30 januari

På fredag 30th Januari boxning fans i London kommer återigen att göra sin väg till den berömda York Hall i Bethnal Green, London för första pro boxning händelse i huvudstaden i det nya året - den Shyam Batra främjas "Legender och Prospects", rubricerade med den Hillyard-Vosyka för WBU International mellanvikt Championship.

 

En stor majoritet som kommer att göra sina vanliga pilgrimsfärd till helgedomen av pugilistisk konsten i huvudstaden, kommer att göra det för att stödja två Hackney baserade, Turkiska födda ungdomar, Broadcast och Onder Ozgul.

 

Under det senaste året eller så bröderna har byggt en ganska rykte om sig själva, som två av de mest spännande, alla action fighters i Capital, deras fans har vuxit i en otrolig hastighet, så mycket så att så snart den har meddelat att de kommer att boxning på en händelse, sin biljett fördelningen brukar säljas i några dagar.

 

Så bara det som gör dessa två pojkar så speciellt och sådant oavgjort för kampen fans som du kan begära, bra för en start den äldre av de två, Under, dubbades "Little" Mike av de turkiska kampen fans tillbaka i sitt hemland, eftersom han har liknas, kampen stil, till en viss "Iron" Mike Tyson.

 

Han var en vanlig medlem i den turkiska laget som tävlade på "World Series Of Boxing krets, samt skakas upp ett stort antal nationella och internationella utmärkelser som amatör.

 

Yngre syskon, Siar, som också har en trofé skåp proppfull till gälarna med troféer och medaljer från sin amatörkarriär, är lite mer raffinerad i sin boxning stil, men fortfarande lika med Onder presen en otrolig kraftfull stil av boxning som hans motståndare finner mycket svårt att klara av.

 

Med fem toppklass vinner redan under bältet, unge Siar är det första som att kliva upp till sex brännboll, att hans lag börjar fokusera på att förbereda honom för påfrestningarna i Championship boxning inom en snar framtid.

 

Efter en vanlig dag på kontoret, vid den nyligen omdöpta Champions TKO gym i Hackney, Under, Siar och deras välkända tränare, fd Common lättvikts- mästare Mo Hussein, tog lite tid att prata om sina kommande slagsmål samt vad framtiden kan hålla för de unga stjärnor.

 

Onder var den första att tala, "Jag är bekväm med min utbildning, Jag känner mig riktigt bra och jag är fast besluten att ge en mycket bra prestation.
