World Series of Fighting CEO Carlos Silva made the following remarks:

“This is an exciting and historic day for our great sport.  Those who have been lobbying for the legalization of MMA in NY State, including World Series of Fighting’s new COO Michael Mersch, should be commended for their persistence and commitment to seeing through the passage of legislation that will finally allow fans to watch live MMA in the Empire State, and fighters to compete there.  We recently opened an office in Manhattan so, along with our television partner, NBC, we are looking forward to bringing our brand of professional MMA to New York very soon.”

BROOKLYN POLICE OFFICER NIYAZOV LOOKING TO PROVE HE IS ‘NEW YORK’S FINEST’ ON AUG. 25 IN CONEY ISLAND

BROOKLYN, NY (August 3, 2015) – With professional pugilism blazing right now in New York City, one boxing Brooklyn police officer will look to prove he is truly “New York’s Finest” on Tuesday, Aug. 25 at the Brooklyn Brawl in Coney Island.

As part of a stacked card at the Brooklyn Cyclones’ MCU Park later this month, Brooklyn NYPD officer Dimash Niyazov (7-0-3, 5KOs) meets Ariel “Fuego” Duran (8-7-1, 5KOs) of Queens in a highly-anticipated lightweight bout scheduled for eight rounds.

“I’ll be facing Ariel Duran, who will be my toughest challenge as a pro, as we battle in an eight-round title fight,” said Niyazov, of Sheepshead Bay. “Duran comes down from a higher weight class and is a former New York State title holder. He always brings fire but I’m going to put that fire out with my style. It will be a battle of the boroughs as I represent Brooklyn and he reps Queens.”

With boxing experiencing a resurgence in the New York area – making appearances on national TV and looking to return to its golden age, when the sweet science was a mainstay in prime time and the sports pages – boxing champion-turned-promoter Dmitriy Salita begins this year’s Brooklyn Brawl series in a standout venue. Salita is proud to present a stacked card in Coney Island, the seaside amusement destination which provides thrills to hordes of revelers every summer.

“Brooklyn Brawl has produced some of the best fights in the New York area in recent memory and our matches on Aug. 25 have the recipe for the same,” Salita said.

In the main event, former world title challenger Alex Miskirtchian (25-3-1, 9 KOs) tops the slate against well-known Brooklyn battler Cornelius Lock (22-7-2, 14 KOs) in a featherweight clash scheduled for 10 rounds. Salita is also particularly excited about a six-round Jr. Welterweight clash between Treysean “Trigger” Wiggins (6-1, 5KOs) of Newburgh, N.Y. and Francisco “El Gato” Figueroa (20-7-1, 13 KOs) of The Bronx.

Doors open at 6 PM. Log on to BrooklynCyclones.com to get your tickets or call 718-507-TIXX (718-507-8499).

Salita Signs Amateur Standout; Former Olympian; Asian Games Champion Serdar Hudayberdiyev

The Salita Promotions stable continues to grow in size, and scope.

Brooklyn, NY (May 7, 2015)--Dmitriy Salita, the New York City based boxing promoter, is proud to announce a new talent is coming aboard.

Serdar Hudayberdiyev,
a 2012 Olympian for Turkmenistan, and junior welterweight prospect, is now in the fold. He carried the flag for his country at the Olympics, and Salita expects him to make as much progress, if not more, in the professional ranks.
“He will connect with his community as well as the Russian speaking community in NYC and he is looking forward to representing his people,” Salita said.

Fans can expect to see a seasoned product in his professional debut that will come this summer.

The 28-year-old boxer, named the 2009 Best Athlete of Turkmenistan by the State Committee of Tourism and Sport, is light on his feet and aggressive.  He can lead or counter. He has been working on firming up his jab and setting down on his punches.

He is coming off an impressive showing at the Asian Games in Korea. His nation holds him in high regard and has immense hopes for him.  He currently is  the only professional boxer hailing from Turkmenistan.

He will join future heavyweight star Jarrell Miller, from Brooklyn; cruiserweight contender Junior Wright, from Chicago; fleet fisted Dimash Niyazov from Staten Island; new signee Bakhtiyar Eyubov, a KO hitter from Kazahkstan,  middleweight contender Steven Martinez and other rising stars on the Salita roster.

Salita inks Kazakh Knockout artist Bakhtier Eubov

Brooklyn, NY (March 3, 2015)–Salita’s Promotions is excited to announce another future star has been added to their roster.
Now opponents who will be getting in the ring with Bakhtiyar Eyubov, they might not be so excited, because the prospect is by all accounts a power hitter.
Eyubov, 5-0 as a professional, with five knockous to his credit, comes from Kazakhstan, the same homeland as middleweight superstar Gennady Golovkin. Like Golovkin, Eyubov looks to remove the judges from the equation. Indeed, he gets going from the opening bell, as four of his five KOs have come in round one.
With over 150 wins in the amateurs, a vast majority by KO, it is clear that his style will fit into the pros quite well, and Salita is excited to let New York City-area sweet science fans check him out in the near future.
Eyubov has already enjoyed a reputation as a fearsome banger, so he’s had to agree to fights from 147 pounds all the way up to light heavyweight, 175 pounds, to entice foes to glove up with him. The 28-year-old hitter is summed up thusly by promoter Salita: “He is an aggressive body puncher and aims to get the KO every time. Eyubov has an exciting style and he is very hungry to climb to the top and be a world champion.”
Eyubov will be managed by Wilson Naranjo, who manages ex champion Luis Collazo and world-rated contender Raphael Vasquez.
Salita will soon announce his next professional fight card, and when we can see the talents of the prospect Eyubov for ourselves. Until then check out the video
