NOVICE CLASS FINALS RESULTS FROM LOWELL
LOWELL, Hmota. (Únor 19, 2016) – Fourteen 2016 New England Tournament of Champions winners were crowned last night in the novice class of 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central produced the most individual winners with seven, followed by Team Western with five, and Team Central had two.
The unofficial fight of the night was between Salem, MA welterweight Kenny Larson (Team Central) and his Dorchester, MA opponent Jarrod LoMax (Team Southern), in which Larson won a three-round decision, 3-2.
Portland, ME bantamweight Christian Morales (Team Northern) continued his performance run in the tournament, winning a three-round decision, 5-0, over hometown Lowell favorite Marquis Fowler (Team Central) Morales’ impressive showings in the tournament will lead him into an open division spot in next week’s New Englands.
In a Central N.E. (větší Lowell) heavyweight final rematch, due to a round-time issue, Methuen’s Jesus Flores (Canal Street Boxing) defeated Haverhill’s John Roche (Haverhill Downtown Boxing) by the same score as their original match in another thrilling, back-and-forth bout ending a in three-round decision (5-0). The crosstown rivalry between the two gyms and boxers led up to another compelling match with Flores qualifying for Středa night’s open class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions.
The New England Tournament of Champions open class semifinals and finals will be held next Wednesday a Čtvrtekevenings, příslušně, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

LOWELL, Hmota. (Únor 11, 2016) – Team Central had the edge in last night’s novice class semifinals of the New England Tournament of Champions, part of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Team Central had five individual winners, followed by Team South and Team West with three victories and Team North had two. The novice class finals of the N.E. Tournament of Champions will be held Čtvrtek, Únor. 18 at Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The Fight of the Night was the light heavyweight match of the novice class as Team South’s Henry Ventura (N. Dartmouth, MA) overcame two knockdowns to defeat Team North’s Tyler Jacques (St. Albans, VT) who was dropped once and also had a standing eight count, by way of a unanimous decision (5-0).

LOWELL, Hmota. (Únor 5, 2016) – Peter Welch’s Gym in South Boston dominated last night’s Central New England (větší Lowell) championship final round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship, open and novice classes, at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
Peter Welch’s Gym had seven winners last night: open – Hyde Park welterweight Jennifer Perella and Brookline light welterweight Abraham Nova; novice – Dorchester lightweightJonathen DePina a middleweight Brian Lawrence, East Boston lightweight Claire Duffy lehká welterweight, Boston light welterweight Katie Gregory and Franklin heavyweight Jared Gately.
Lowell West End Gym and Grealish Boston had the second-most winners last evening with two apiece.
Last night, 15 matches went the distance, including several upsets, along with one technical knockout and a two walkovers.
All CNE finals winners qualified to compete in the upcoming New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, začínající next Thursday night with the semifinals of the novice division.

(Únor 2, 2016) – Thirty-eight surviving amateur boxers will compete in 19 scheduled matches this Thursday night (Únor. 4) the Central New England (větší Lowell) final round, open and novice divisions, of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
All CNE finals winners will advance to the New England Tournament of Champions, also held at Lowell Memorial Auditorium, later this month.

(Leden 25, 2016) – Returning New England Golden Gloves welterweight champion Xavier Vega, Lawrence (MA), leads a host of talented open and novice class amateur boxers into this Thursday night’s (Leden. 8) in the Central New England (větší Lowell) semifinals of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
The 21-year-old Vega, representing Canal Street Boxing, faces Nashua (NH) vyzývatel Michael Fontanez in one of eight open class matches. There are also eight novice class matches scheduled.

LOWELL, Hmota. (Leden 23, 2016) – The Central New England (větší Lowell) quarterfinals round of the 70th annual Lowell Sun Charities Golden Gloves Championship was held last night at historic Lowell Memorial Auditorium with 13 highly competitive matches in the novice class.
Vše 13 matches went the three-round distance for 39 rounds of action that the large crowed enjoyed from start to finish. The super heavyweight match between Dorchester’s 381-pound Ivens Derival and Haverhill’s 266-pound Kyle Davis was of special especially because of their respective sizes. Davis won by way of a three-round decision, 4-1, in a back-and-forth match that had fans standing throughout.
