“We’ve been following this league for a couple years now. We know that they’re the powerhouse here in the UK and were happy to team up with them and bring our top fighters.”

“This is going to be a great show that is going to be televised all over the world. It will be on SPIKE UK, which airs here in Ireland as well ar an Satharn ag 11 p.m. am áitiúil, as well as on SPIKE in the United States at 9 p.m. AGUS. It will also air in 140 countries around the world, so this is an event that brings worldwide recognition to this event here in Ireland, and we’re very proud to be here.”

(Is this somewhat of a scouting mission for you ar an Aoine?)

“The mission statement of the company is to bring the best fighters in the world to Bellator. So we’re going to be watching very closely I know there is some great talent here, and I’m excited to watch it and see what the future holds.”

(On the event coming together)

“David (Glas) and I became friends a little more than a year ago, and has a big television producing background, and he’s done stuff for Spike and Viacom in the past. He’s a very big producer here in the United Kingdom. But as far as coming together, if you look at the background of Strikeforce or even before that in kickboxing, we were never opposed to having fighters in one organization against fighters in another organization. In the earliest parts of the Strikeforce career in MMA, we sent Gilbert Melendez and Josh Thomson (i measc daoine eile) to Pride against some of the Japanese fighters and they sent over (Shinya) Aoki, (Tatsuya) Kawajiri and some of the best fighters they had. Chun liom, this is what martial arts is all about. We should have more events like this where top guys from different leagues compete against each other to find out who the best is. We’re not going to be opposed to that. That’s always been our philosophy

(On doing it again)

“That’s something David and I will talk about once this is over. We both individually have a big schedule for next year. We (Bellator) are going to go to more international events and more cities across the world. We are going to go to Latin America next year with shows on Mexico and Brazil.

“So we are going to have an exciting schedule to announce soon. Seo (Dublin event) is something that has worked out fantastic. The schedule and the timing was perfect. The door is always going to be open, these guys are a great partner and have been fantastic to work with and we look forward to doing more events.”

Q: Do Benson…An bhfuil aon spreagadh breise ann chun tú féin a chruthú sa troid seo tar éis an chaoi ar chríochnaigh an troid dheireanach?

Benson Henderson: Déarfainn nach bhfuil mórán spreagadh breise sa troid seo. Is duine féin-spreagtha go leor mé. Ba mhaith liom mo troideanna go léir a bhuachan. Níl aon dreasachtaí breise ag teastáil uaim. Ba mhaith liom mo lámh a ardú i ngach troid amháin.

Q: Is é seo do dhara troid teidil i Bellator. An bhfuil aon rud a d’fhoghlaim tú ón gcéad dul timpeall atá á thabhairt agat isteach sa troid seo??

Benson Henderson: Níl a fhios agam an bhfuil aon rud a d’fhoghlaim mé ón troid teidil deiridh, ach a bheith níos compordaí taobh istigh den chliabhán Bellator agus dul i dtaithí ar an siúl amach agus mo rithim a aimsiú.

Q: Tá tú ag troid ar son an teidil anois. An gceapann tú go bhfuil tú féin éadrom? An é seo an áit a bhfuil sé ar intinn agat fanacht nó an bhfuil seans ann go mbeidh turas eile meáchan welter sa todhchaí?

Benson Henderson: Ní déarfainn go smaoiním orm féin mar rud éadrom de riachtanas. Maidir liom, tá sé 155 lb.. nó 170 lb.., díreach cibé áit a bhfuil na matchups níos suimiúla agus níos spraoi. Ach, rudaí ar dtús ar dtús, Caithfidh mé aire a thabhairt do ghnó ar an Satharn oíche.

Q: Luaigh tú troideanna spraíúla agus suimiúla. An bhfuil an teideal rud éigin a cheapann tú faoi chomh maith? Is é líne scéal na seachtaine ná curadh dhá roinn sa chur chun cinn eile. An aisling é sin atá agat duit féin i do ghairm bheatha nó ar mhaith leat fanacht agus a bheith ar an laoch éadrom is mó is féidir leat a bheith?

Benson Henderson: Táim chun an crios seo a fháil ag 155 lb.., ach ina dhiaidh sin ní déarfainn go dtugann criosanna a lán dreasachta breise. Is léir go bhfuil criosanna iontach agus is é an bhrí atá taobh thiar den chrios ná go bhfuil tú ar an duine is fearr ar an phláinéid agus ciallaíonn sé sin go leor a rá go bhfuil tú ar an duine is fearr ag an rang meáchain sin, ach ní gá go dtroidim díreach ar son na crios. Tá an crios uait, ach anois is é an rud ar a bhfuilim ag díriú ceithre lá ó anois agus fear darb ainm Michael Chandler.

Q: A Mhichíl…Ar smaoinigh tú riamh ar chrios eile a iarraidh? Tá a fhios agam go bhfuil sé go luath i do réimeas teidil, ach an ndeachaigh sin thar d'intinn riamh? Agus, má chuaigh tú le haghaidh crios eile, an mbeadh sé le haghaidh welterweight nó cleite?

Michael Chandler: Níl mórán machnaimh déanta agam air. Maidir liom, Táim ag lorg an troid is mó is féidir liom a fháil. Tá a fhios agam nach bhfuil aon bhealach a d'fhéadfadh liom a dhéanamh 145 lb.., ó shiúil mé thart ar thart 190 lb.., idir troideanna. Mar sin,, Níl suim agam sa mhais muscle a d’oibrigh mé chomh crua lena thógáil a chailleadh. Más rud ar bith, Léimfinn suas go dtí 170 lb.., ach faoi láthair táim dírithe ar mo troid Dé Sathairn oíche agus tá mé ar bís dul amach ann agus seinn.

Q: Cén fáth a bhfuil Henderson ina chéile comhraic tábhachtach do do ghairm bheatha?

Michael Chandler: Tá gach comhraic tábhachtach. Gach uair táimid ag troid, táimid ag cur orainn féin, ár slí bheatha, ár dtaifid, agus ár gcáil ar an líne. Tarlaíonn sé domsa, Faighim deis troid le fear a bhí ina chraobh agus a rinne rudaí iontacha sa spórt. Ach ádh mór, is é an t-am ceart domsa agus an t-am mícheart dó. Tá lúcháir orm dul amach ansin agus ráiteas a dhéanamh leis an troid seo ar an Satharn oíche. Is duine iontach é cinnte, comhraic toilteanach, ach tá mé ar bís dul amach ansin agus an deireadh a fháil.

Q: Do MVP…Is léir, Ba bhliain iontach í duit in Bellator, go háirithe do fheidhmíocht i Londain. An bhfuil do mhéar agat ar chuisle an chultúir popcheoil faoi láthair agus an bhfuil rud éigin amuigh ansin a bhfuil inspioráid á fháil agat as a bhfuil tú ag iarraidh úsáid a bhaint as i fachtóir siamsaíochta éigin ar oíche troid?

MVP: Yeah, Bím feasach go sóisialta i gcónaí, ach caithfidh mé an jab a dhéanamh ar dtús agus sin an rud is tábhachtaí.

Q: I láthair na huaire, is cosúil gurb é an comhrac in ilranganna meáchain agus troid i ranna iolracha an rage faoi láthair agus tá a fhios agam san am atá caite gur luaigh tú an fhéidearthacht titim síos go dtí 155 lb.., an é sin rud a bhfuil spéis agat fós ann?

MVP: I láthair na huaire, nach. Ceart anois, Táim dírithe ar throid sa rannán meáchain welter.

Q: Más féidir leat bua thar Fernando Gonzalez a thaifeadadh, cé mhéad troideanna eile agus cé mhéad buaite eile a cheapann tú sula mbeidh tú sa phictiúr teidil sin agus tú ag troid le haghaidh lámhaigh teidil?

MVP: Ní hé sin an príomh imní atá orm. Téim amach ansin le siamsaíocht a dhéanamh agus leanfaidh mé de sin a dhéanamh go dtí go gcríochnóidh mé sa suíomh a bhfuilim ceaptha a bheith ann.

Q: Do Michael Chandler…Agus tú ag breathnú ar Benson ó i bhfad i gcéin, cad a cheap tú air de réir mar a chuaigh a ghairm bheatha chun cinn?

Michael Chandler: Bhí gairm bheatha iontach ag Benson. Filleadh ar an lá, bhí sé an curadh UFC agus bhí mé an curadh Bellator. Bhí sé rangaithe ag uimhir a haon agus bhí mé sa tríú háit ar fud an domhain agus bhí sé i gcónaí go raibh an mheaitseáil “cad má”.. Cad a tharlaíonn má d'fhéadfadh an dá guys troid ... agus anois a fháil againn ar deireadh a fheiceáil. Lean sé ar aghaidh ag déanamh iontais. Lean sé ag buachan. Ní féidir gairmeacha móra agus oidhreachtaí móra a fháil gan comhraic iontach. Breathnaím ar Benson Henderson mar sin go díreach, ach beidh mé damanta má tá mé chun dul isteach sa chliabhán sin ar an Satharn oíche agus caillfidh tú an crios seo. Tá mo eireaball oilte agam, Tá mé tar éis dul trí chuid de na cruatan is deacra ar féidir le haon duine dul tríd sa spórt seo ... trí throid as a chéile a chailleadh, ag teacht ar ais, agus a chreidiúint go bhfuil cuma cad, tá mo chéad cinn mór eile timpeall an chúinne. Níor smaoinigh mé riamh ar éirí as, áit a gceapaim go mbeadh go leor daoine sa chás sin. Cá raibh mé agus cá bhfuilim anois, Tá mé muiníneach agus tá mé ar bís dul amach ansin agus é a chur ar an líne i gcoinne duine de na daoine is fearr ar domhan agus ceann de na hainmneacha is mó sa spórt. Is deis iontach é seo ar Spike TV, beo agus saor in aisce.

Q: Do Fernando…ceist maidir leis na pacáistí físeáin atá léirithe agus eisithe ag Michael Page i mbliana, le déanaí le linn Oíche Shamhna. An bhfaca tú iad agus cén fhreagairt a bhí agat ar na pacáistí físeáin?

Fernando Gonzalez: Bhreathnaigh mé ar an dá fhíseán agus shíl mé go raibh sé cineál greannmhar, go háirithe an ceann deireanach. Droch-rogha táirgí bia is dóigh liom. Go bunúsach tá sé ag ithe liathróidí agus ag ól bainne, agus an blas á chupáil agus á bhlaiseadh. Mar sin,, Níl a fhios agam ar cheart dom é sin a ghlacadh mar ghlaoch amach, ach is dóigh liom go mbeidh an bua amháin go leor dom.

Q: Le Michael (Leathanach) ar an líne anois, does Fernando have any sort of message for him leading up to the fight?

Fernando Gonzalez: It’s the same message that I gave before. Just show up. I respect the fighter, but after this he’ll congratulate me and thank me for making him a better fighter. Tá sé diana, but he hasn’t been tested and I’m going to give him his first loss.

Q: Michael do you have a response to that?

MVP: I’m allergic to bullshit, so there’s no point in responding.

Q: For Benson Henderson…In the title eliminator fight in Anaheim, you had a calm and deliberate demeanor throughout that fight and before we could really see you explode, Pitbull was taken away with an injury. Are you going to look to set a faster pace with Chandler, or are we going to see a more measured response?

Benson Henderson: We’ll see how it plays out. It’s hard to dictate and say exactly what I’m going to do. If I was an NFL coach, I would not be one of those coaches that has the first 15 plays of the game scripted out and no matter what happens, we’re sticking to these 15 plays. Maidir liom, I have to feel it out and go with the flow. Ach, for me I don’t think this is going to be a slow pace fight. I’m expecting this to be one of the most high paced, action-packed fights you’ve seen in the Bellator cage.
