Televised coverage on Televisa begins at 10:30 p.m. CT and will give fans a chance to see two of the next great fighters in the long line of Mexican boxing champions as Rodriguez battles Colombia’s Jose David Mosquera in a six-round middleweight boutand Delgado takes on Venezuela’s Gustavo Vera in six-rounds of super lightweight action.

At last year’s Rio games, the 23-year-old Rodriguezovercame incredible odds to win the first Olympic boxing medal for Mexico since Christian Bejerano in 2000. The Chihuahua native and his teammates had to resort to begging on public buses and streets in Mexico to raise money to compete in international boxing tournaments. He completed his road to the medal stand by defeating Egypt’s Hosam Bakr Abdin to clinch a medal in the middleweight division. Rodriguez made his pro debut in April with a dominant decision victory over Brian True in Los Angles.
A teammate of Rodriguez on the 2016 Meksiken ekip Olympic, Delgadomade his pro debut in style in April with a third round stoppage of Luis Angel Silva. The 22-year-old captured gold at the 2016 American Olympic Qualification to earn his trip to Rio. Born in Linares but training in Tijuana, Delgado compiled a 139-15 amateur record that included a victory over former world champion Amnat Ruenroeng.

NEW YORK – May 25, 2017 – Combate Americas will make its highly-anticipated return to Mexico City, Meksik, with a stacked lineup of professional Mixed Martial Arts (Mma) action at the storied Salas de Armas on Vandredi, Jen 30, live on Azteca America at 10 p.m. AK.

In the “Combate 15” lightweight (155 liv) evènman prensipal, recent Combate Americas “Fight of the Night” winner Danny “The Realist” Ramirez (6-2) will square off with seasoned battler Rodrigo “Kazula” Vargas (6-3).

In the featherweight (145 liv) ko-prensipal evènman, Levy “El Negro” Marroquin (5-1) looks for his second straight win when he collides with the red-hot Andres “The Bullet” Quintana (11-2).

Anplis de sa, Combate Americas will produce its second women’s strawweight (115 liv) matchup in history when unbeaten upstart Melissa “Melly” Martinez (1-0) goes head-to-head with the venerable Yajaira “Shokolate” Romo (3-2).

Rodrigo Vargas vs. Danny Ramirez

5-an pye-7, 31-year-old Vargas heads into “Combate 15” having won four of his last five starts, with all four victories coming by way of knockout or submission.

Fighting out of Mexico City, “Kazula” will have the hometown crowd on his side as he looks to rebound from last January’s razor-thin decision loss to Marco Antonio Elpidio in what was an epic, see-saw battle at “Combate 10.”

Ramirez, 28, has more than seven years’ experience in the U.S. Marine Corps, which “The Realist” was able to parlay into a successful cagefighing career. After shredding the amateur circuit, the 5-foot-9 Californian turned pro, konpile yon bèl 6-2 record with four knockouts.

His most recent victory also received “Fight of the Night” honors at last February’s “Combate 11” affair, where Ramirez upset fan-favorite Erick “Ghost Pepper” Gonzalez in a three-round war in Burbank, Kalifòni.

Levy Marroquin vs. Andres Quintana

One of the top prospects fighting out of Monterrey, Nuevo Leone, Meksik, -5 nan pye-8, 21-year-old Marroquin made a successful debut with Combate Americas by outlasting Pablo Sabori at “Combate 12” earlier this year in Tijuana.

Martinez makes her return to Mexico City, as well as her Combate Americas debut, after stopping Iliana Lopez in her first professional fight roughly one year back.

Standing 5-foot-5, Monterrey’s Yajaira Romo looks to return to the win column after her three-fight win streak was halted in early 2016. “Shokolate” is a member of the famed Combate Libre Academia, and possesses knockout power in both hands.

MONTE Carlo, Monako (Me 3, 2017)- The World MMA Association (WMMAA) has announced that its 2017 Pan-American Championships, the largest MMA event ever in The Americas, will be held this coming Jiyè 14-15 in Monterrey, Meksik.
National teams from the United States, Kanada, Meksik, Costa Rica, Nikaragwa, Kolonbi, Ekwatè, Venezyela, Irigwe, Brezil, along with special guest Spain, are expected to compete in the 2017 Pan-American Championships.
“Representing your country on the biggest continental competition of nations, it strikes you, your heart starts to race in anticipation of the grand journey into WMMAA history,” Pan-American Division president Tomas Yu di.
The PAN-AM Board of Directors met again this past month during a collaboration with USA Boxing, during the latter’s 2017 Western Elite Qualifier & Regional Open, when the tentative announcement was made that Monterrey (Meksik) would be the event host this July.
Albuquerque, New Mexico was a leading destination host, sepandan, PAN-AM Board members voted in favor of Monterrey as the ultimate location.
“WMMAA Mexico, as well as Monterrey as the host city this year, is a huge step in the development of the championships and movement as a whole,” Yu te ajoute. “Monterrey has been an active sport city. It was the first city to bid on the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. Monterrey had never bid on an Olympic Game prior to its effort to bid for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics. The city did host several matches of the 1986 FIFA World Cup.

WBC SANCTIONS SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT ELIMINATOR BETWEEN UNDEFEATED DAVID BENAVIDEZ AND ROGELIO MEDINA FOR #2 MANDATORY TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Now that sanction has officially been granted, the next fight for red-hot undefeated super middleweight David “Drapo Wouj” Benavidez will be an eliminator for the #2 mandatory challenger spot in the WBC’s world rankings against highly regarded contender Rogelio “Porky” Medina, nan Sonora, Meksik.

WBC #1-rated Callum Smith and WBC #2-rated Anthony Dirrell will fight for the vacant 168 WBC Championship (tentatively scheduled for May), the winner of that fight must then face undefeated WBC #3 contender, Avni Yildirim, from Turkey. The champion at the end of those two fights will be mandated to face the winner of the Benavidez vs. Medina eliminator.

For Benavidez (17-0, 16 Ko), who served as chief sparring partner for middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin’s recent preparations to face Danny Jacobs, news of the fight with Medina is a welcome development.

“This is the biggest opportunity of my life and I’m not going to let it go to waste,” di Benavidez. “I’m going to destroy this guy like I do everybody else. I have never trained this hard for a fight and I feel that, come fight time, I’ll be extremely strong and do it up.”

We were training with Golovkin here in Big Bear (California) and we’ve decided to stay here and keep training until the fight.”

“I know he’s a tough fighter and he’s been in a lot of wars, and he has a lot of experience, but I’m very motivated for this fight,” continued David. “We have a month and a half in training with Golovkin in camp already. Camp with him is hard work and training here in Big Bear gets you to the next level. The hard work I’m doing here will definitely get me this win.”

Promoter Lewkowicz says any remaining questions about young Benavidez will be answered in this fight.

“This is the final test for David Benavidez,” di Lewkowicz. “If he does to this guy what he did to so man other fighters, it will be time for the world to acknowledge that David is going to be a star in boxing. This test will show everyone that he is truly everything we’ve been saying he is since he was a teenager. I am proud of the hard work he is doing and look forward to this great victory.”

Reynoso to Face Valenzuela for WBC Silver Latino Super Bantamweight Championship on April 1 in Guadalajara, Meksik

As part of TyC’s ongoing 25th anniversary celebration of boxing shows, this exciting event will feature a 10-round battle for the WBC Silver Latino Super Bantamweight Championship between Buenos Aires, Argentina’s Roman Ruben Reynoso (19-1-2, 8 Ko) and Sonora, Mexico’s Christian “Molacho” Valenzuela (13-0-1, 8 Ko).
Reynoso has left his native Argentina just twice in his career, but on one of those occasions, fought to a split draw with well-regarded prospect Adam Lopez on ShoBox: The New Generation in July 2016. Like Reynoso, the undefeated Valenzuela has never left his home country, but has stayed busy with 14 fights in his three-year career.
In the chief supporting bout, Ajantin 2016 Summer Olympian Alberto Palmetta will go for his third consecutive victory as a professional against Mexico City’s Luis Montelongo (4-1).
26-year-old Palmetta, a junior middleweight, was one of the most heavily decorated amateurs in his country’s history, in addition to fighting in the 2016 Pandan ete olenpik, he won numerous national and international distinctions including the bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Jwèt. He turned professional in November 2016.

Five four-round bouts will open the show, featuring super featherweights Alexander Villa (3-0, 3 Ko) of Guadalajara and Zapopan, Mexico’s Hugo Barajas (0-2); featherweights Jair Campos (1-0, 1 KO) a Tepic, Nayarit and Guadalajara’s Leonardo Cervantes (1-8); as well as three more “All Guadalajara” match-ups, including junior middleweights Oscar Larios (Pro Debut) and Juan Carlos González (Pro Debut); welterweights Walter Loera (1-0, 1 KO) and Angel Fernando Lambarena (0-1); and lightweights Jose Manuel Garcia (1-0, 1 Ko) and Luis Guzman (0-1).

Del Valle arrives in Dallas; Ready to Shine Saturday Night

Dallas, TX (Septanm 12, 2016) – IBF #8 super bantamweight Luis “Orlandito” Del Valle and his team arrived in Dallas this afternoon after leaving Puerto Rico earlier today.
Valley, who hails from Bayamon, meets unbeaten Diego De La Hoya, 15-0 (9 KO nan), Samdi evening over ten rounds in what is expected to be a classic Puerto Rico vs Mexico slugfest. The bout opens an HBO PPV telecast starting at 9 PM ET headlined by the junior middleweight championship fight between pound for pound superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and reigning WBO champion Liam Smith. The card takes place a short distance from Dallas in Arlington, TX at AT&T Stadium, best known as the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Valley, 22-2 (16 KO nan), had grueling training camp to prepare for what he calls the biggest fight of his career. With his preparation in the books, Del Valle is supremely confident that the work he put in along with his significant experience advantage will guide him to victory.
