DeGale worked out and answered questions for media at the Stonebridge Boxing Club as he nears his third straight fight in the United States, this time looking to return to the UK as a unified world champion.

“This is the best fighting the best and this fight will prove who’s the best in the division — and I believe I am the number one super middleweight on the planet.

 

“Unification fights like this are still rare, never mind the best fighting the best, and me and Jack both wanted the fight. We both want to prove who is the best and everyone is in for a treat on Janeiro 14.

 

“I’ve got the best trainer in the world in Jim McDonnell; together we won the world title and now we’re going to unify the title. I’m going to win in style and do the business in the big New York City and come away with both belts to bring back to London.

 

“Jack’s a serious fighter, he’s a world champion, he has something I want. The winner of this will be the number in the division.

 

“Growing up, Joe Calzaghe, and Prince Naseem Hamed, they’re the ones I used to watch and I’d think, ‘I can’t wait to do that.’ Calzaghe’s one of my favorite fighters. He’s a bit similar to me. BROOKLYN (Dezembro 8, 2016)-The only two Puerto Rican-born world champions in boxing are set to show their skills and heart for boxing fans in New York as Jose “Sniper” Pedraza e Amanda “Real Deal” Serrano defend their titles on Sábado, Janeiro 14 no Barclays Center, no Brooklyn, e vive em ALTURA DE COMEÇAR.
“Puerto Rico has such a rich boxing history with many of the sport’s greatest champions hailing from the island,” disse Lou DiBella, Presidente da DiBella Entertainment. “Agora, there are only two Puerto Rican-born world champions, junior lightweight Jose Pedraza and junior featherweight Amanda Serrano, and I happen to promote them both. Janeiro 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn is a tremendous card all around, but it will also serve as a celebration of Puerto Rican pride and heritage to be able to watch the country’s only two world champions defend their titles on the same show.”
Pedraza (22-0, 12 KOs) will defend his IBF Super Featherweight World Championship against hard-hitting unbeaten contender Gervonta Davis (16-0, 15 KOs)in the co-main event on SHOWTIME. With his victory in June 2015, Pedraza added his name to the distinguished list of Puerto Rican world champions. After losses suffered by Roman Martinez and McJoe Arroyo, he currently stands as the only remaining male champion born in Puerto Rico.
“Being the only male Puerto Rican-born world champion is something that I’m very proud of,” Disse Pedraza. “It is also a big weight that I carry on my shoulders. I know that I have to give my best because I am not just a champion of the ring. I am a champion of my island of Puerto Rico. Knowing that all of Puerto Rico will be in there with me encourages me to give my all every time I step into the ring.

Serrano (30-1-1, 23 KOs), a four-division world champion, will defend her WBO Super Bantamweight World Championship against former two-division world champion Yazmin Rivas (35-9-1, 10 KOs) in the SHOWTIME EXTREME main event at 7 p.m. E/PT. The winner of the Serrano-Rivas matchup will earn the prestigious WBC Diamond championship. Serrano’s first world title victory in 2011 made her just the third Puerto Rican-born woman to win a world title.
This bout also signifies the first nationally televised women’s world title bout in nearly a decade, since Mary Jo Saunders fought Valerie Mahfood on March 30, 2007 (ESPN2).
“It feels fantastic to be fighting on SHOWTIME for the first time and sharing the stage at Barclays Center with my countryman Jose Pedraza,” Disse Serrano. “Knowing that both he and I are currently the only two Puerto Rican-born world champions, masculino ou feminino, in boxing today is an honor.

LAS VEGAS (Dezembro. 3, 2016) – Ashley “Tesouro” Theophane (40-7-1, 11KO ) enfrentado Yakabu Amidu (19-9-2, 17 KO ) em 10 rounds of action in the main event of Mayweather Promotions’ Sin City Showdown Sexta-feira noite. Theophane came out focused and on cue with his game plan, he was able to deflect most of Amidu’s punches and break his opponent down. It was a steady 10 rounds of action, Theophane was able to break Amidu down with consistent jabs and body punches aiming consistently at his target, round after round. Amidu struggled to read Theophane, which ultimately led to Theophane to his 40th win, by way of unanimous decision.
“It feels great to have a career that’s lasted this long, he made it easy to stick to my game plan. I listened to my corner who guided me and kept me on track, I couldn’t be happier with the decision,” Disse Theophane.
“I knew he was going to be a good opponent, I didn’t perform my best,” says Amidu. “This fight should have been in my favor, but in the end the judges decided the winner.”
Leading up to the main event, was a fast-paced blow-by-blow welterweight exchange between Mayweather Promotions’ power-puncher Maurice Lee (7-1, 3 KO) e Cameron Kreal (9-12-2, 1 KO). As soon as the first bell rang Krael jumped out his corner quickly putting the pressure on Lee, while Lee searched to find his groove. Krael kept delivering punches, forcing Lee to fight on the defense. By the beginning of the fifth round, Lee found an opening, landing jabs and uppercuts affecting Krael. “My game plan was to box smart, I knew he had a lot of experience so I knew I had to be smart in the ring.” Lee reflects on his performance and goes on to say, “I thought the fight was a lot closer than what the judges ruled. I definitely could have thrown more punches. We both took a lot of punches in the end. This was a learning experience and I just gotta come back harder.”
The night began with a full Mayweather Promotions showcase serving back-to-back, non-stop undercard action. Newly signed lightweight amateur Rolando Romero (1-0, 1 KO)got the first win of his career in the first round, by TKO against David Courtney(1-5, 1KO) after only one minute and eleven seconds of action. Also making his Mayweather Promotions debut Oluwafemi “The Eagle” Oyeleye (1-0) got the first win of his career, by way of unanimous decision in a 4-round Jr. middleweight showdown against Brian True (1-5, 1 KO). Leve Andres Cortes (4-0, 2 KO) furthered his undefeated record against Miguel Espinoza (3-2, 1 KO) depois 4 rounds of action. The night continued on as Latônia Jones (5-0, 2 KO) kept her undefeated record in tact against Selena Arellano (1-2-, 1 KO), judges ruled the 4 round Jr. middleweight bout in Jones favor by UD. Further up in the lineup was a brutal welterweight showdown giving Mayweather Promotions’ Charvis Holifield (6-2, 4 KO) the second loss of his career versus Samuel Santana (9-11-3, 3 KO) which ended in a 5th round stoppage, giving Santana the win by way of TKO.

BROOKLYN (Novembro 22, 2016) – In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday, super middleweight world champions Badou Jack e James Degale, plus junior lightweight world champion Jose Pedraza e desafiante invicto Gervonta Davis, donated and distributed Thanksgiving meals at the Bed-Stuy Campaign Against Hunger in Brooklyn before their press conference last Wednesday to discuss their respective January 14 showdowns taking place at Barclays Center and live on SHOWTIME.

The fighters handed out 100 turkeys along with other Thanksgiving foods to help aid the organization that has provided millions of meals for people in the area. “Eu gosto de ser o oprimido. Se eu sou o azarão nesta luta, Então isso é perfeito para mim. Não haverá desculpas quando eu o derrotar.
“Eu apenas tento permanecer humilde vitória após vitória e continuo ansioso por coisas maiores e melhores. Depois dessa luta, venha falar comigo sobre quem é o melhor da divisão.

“Eu cometi um erro e fui pego em minha perda. Consegui me recuperar e isso me fez um lutador muito melhor. Definitivamente foi uma bênção disfarçada. As pessoas ainda estão me ignorando por causa disso. Eu olho para isso como uma coisa boa.
“Tudo acontece por uma razão. Eu sou muito abençoado por estar aqui no Brooklyn. Esta é a minha segunda casa na América. Eu treinei na academia de Gleason em 2009 E agora estou atrevido no Barclays Center. É incrível.”

Las Vegas (Outubro 8) – The Uzbekistan-born Super Middleweight Ronald Gavril (17-1, 13 KOs) derrotado Christopher Brooker (11-2, 5 KOs) by way of TKO from Sam’s Town Live inside of Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall em Las Vegas, NV in the main event of Mayweather Promotions Sin City Showdown, the first installment of their monthly series of boxing at Sam’s Town Live.
From the second the bell rang it was non-stop action in the ring as Gavril and Brooker fought for the vacant NABF Super Middleweight title. Both fighters rolled out combination punches and uppercuts early in the rounds. Brooker fired off shots and Gavril was countering, neither fighter would let up. No 5
th redondo, Brooker landed a clean uppercut that had Gavril on the canvas and shook up. Gavril regrouped and returned with blows to Brooker, leading in a war of blood exchange.
It was a slugfest between these Super Middleweight fighters, which ultimately led to Gavril knocking Brooker down twice in the 10th round, defeating him and claiming the vacant NABF title.
“The guy was very very tough, but I came back to win,” said Gavril. “I trained extremely hard with my team and they prepared my body for this fight. My endurance really got me through this fight. I have to say the knockdown in the 5th round got me to refocus and get my mental toughness in gear.”
“He wouldn’t let up, but that didn’t stop me from getting the title. I only had one goal coming into this fight, and I accomplished it, I am the new champion.”
“I was extremely upset with the decision,” said Brooker. “I go hard in every fight and this fight was no different. The judges had the scores as a draw so I feel like I was going to get robbed any way. There wasn’t a three knockdown rule, so I just didn’t understand why the judges called it so pre-maturely. “The judges should have let me continue fighting, this was a title fight, not a regular match. I definitely thought the knockdown in the fifth round put me ahead, but I guess I was wrong.
“I am looking to fight anyone, whoever and whenever the next opportunity is for me to fight, Vou levar. If possible, I want the re-match against Gavril.”
The co-main event featured a pair of welterweight prospects that produced an exciting matchup, ultimately leading to second round TKO after only 55 seconds by Memphis-born Ladarius Miller (12-1, 3 KOs) contra Ronald Rivas (5-5-1 3 KOs).
“I am so happy with my performance,” disse Miller. “I am getting better and better with each fight, and this fight proved that my hard work and consistency in the gym and with my team is working.”

LAS VEGAS (Sete. 26, 2016) – Former title challenger Ashley “Tesouro” Theophane (39-7-1, 11 KO) looks to redeem himself after a tough loss back in April as he headlines the main event of Mayweather Promotions Sin City Showdown, Sábado, October 8thfrom Sam’s Town Live in Las Vegas.
“I have been in the gym training harder than ever and mentally preparing after coming up short against Adrien Broner earlier this year,” Disse Theophane. “I’m excited to get back in the ring on October 8 and be the first to headline the monthly fight series at Sam’s Town that Mayweather Promotions has put together. The co-main will feature a battle for the NABF Super Middleweight Title featuring Mayweather Promotions’ próprio Ronald “The Thrill” Gavril (16-1, 12 KO). LAS VEGAS (Março 10, 2016) – Promoções Mayweather is pleased to announce the signing of exciting lightweight contender Sharif “O Leão” Bogère to their growing stable of championship-caliber fighters.
Bogère (27-1, 19 KOs) has won his last four fights by knockout and is eager to return to the ring with the support of his new promoter.
“This is such a great day for me and an important move for my career,” said Bogere. “I’m very thankful to Floyd, Leonard, and the whole Mayweather Promotions team. I cannot wait to get back in the ring and show everybody why I’m a future world champion. I want to fight the best and I feel this will put me in a position to conquer the sport.”
Mayweather Promotions boasts over 20 professional fighters included current and former world champions Badou Jack, Mickey Bey and Ishe Smith, in addition to the recently retired 12-time world champion and President of Mayweather Promotions, Floyd Mayweather.
“We’re proud to add another young, hungry fighter to our Mayweather Promotions stable,” Disse Mayweather. “Sharif Bogere is a very talented young man with an incredible backstory and I know that he’s working hard to become a world champion.”

The 27-year-old trains in Las Vegas with legendary trainer Kenny Adams, but has had to overcome incredible adversity just to get into this position. Born in Kampala, Uganda, Bogere learned to fight as a way to defend himself from the bullies and thieves in his poverty-stricken neighborhood.
He overcame brutal training conditions, including limited access to water and hand wraps, to amass a 68-4 amateur record on his way to becoming a five-time African champion and serving as the captain of the Ugandan national team.
