QUINCY, מאַסע. (ויגוסט 6, 2017) – Former New England welterweight champion דערעק “The SurgeonSilveira defeated former world title challenger מיכאל “קאַלט בלוט” קלאַרק last night (שבת, אויגוסט. 5) אין די “Fight Night at the Bay” הויפּט געשעעניש, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, מאַססאַטשוסעטץ.
Silveira (12-1, 6 קאָס), of Salem MA) used his height and length advantage to out-box the much more experienced Clark (44-16-1, 18 קאָס). Due to what appeared to be a broken right hand, Clark was unable to continue after six rounds.

נאָך דעם קאַמף, Silveira got done on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Ashley Myers. (She accepted).

I want to thank Michael Clark,” Silveria commented. “My buddy Martin passed away and this fight was for him. We’re back and can go as long as needed because I’m in better shape. I’m a smart fighter and I can counter guys. I hope to be back fighting סעפּטעמבער 30in Boston.

Aleksandra Lopes (ל) picked up a big win vs, Lisa Garland
אין די גלויבנס-ארויסגעשטעלטע געשעעניש, three-time world title challenger Aleksandra Lopes (18-4-2, 1 קאָ) likely positioned herself for another world title shot, taking an eight-round decision from former world champion Lisa Garland (15-8, 8 קאָס), winning all eight rounds on two judgesscorecards and all but one on the other.

It’s tough to judge,” said the Polish native who lives in nearby Marshfield (מאַ) regarding her position for another world title shot opportunity. “איך האָפֿן אַזוי. I respect her but I felt that I should implement my sharper skills. She fought hard and came at me. I thought she’d go flat in the later rounds but she didn’t.

I’m always tough on myself, Wayne (לאָפּעס, her trainer and husband) was happy. I feel that I should have taken it to her more and I got caught up in clinches too much. The heat was difficult, I felt heated before the fight. I was more tired than usual and I let her come in winging wild punches.
New N. און. Cruiserweight champion Chris Traietti
Iraq War veteran and Quincy’s favorite son, Chris Traietti (24-4, 19 קאָס), who is also co-promoter ofFight Night at the Bay”, pounded Nick Lavin (5-6, 4 קאָס) from the opening bell to capture the vacant New England Cruiserweight Championship by way of a decisive eight-round unanimous decision. Traietti teed-off on the over-matched Lavin for most of the fight, but his tough Connecticut opponent lasted to the very end.

Undefeated Irish junior middleweight Paddy Irwin (4-0, 3 קאָס), fighting at home in Quincy, methodically broke-down Demetrius Thomas (0-5), dropping him with a right hand in the second round, and floored him with a flurry of punches en route to a third-round stoppage only moments later by referee Ryan.

Two-time Ecuador Olympian קאַרלאָס גאָנגאָראַ (9-0, 8 קאָס), קאַמף פון ברוקלין (ניו יאָרק), thoroughly outclassed Texas journeyman LarrySlow Motion” סמיט (10-34-1, 7 קאָס)by way of a fifth-round technical knockout. Gongora, a powerful southpaw promoted by Murphy’s Boxing, started the fight firing crisp combinations to the head and body of Smith, who took a knee for an eight-count in the opening round. The action slowed through the second and third frames, but Gongora picked up the pace in the fourth, as Smith took a knee again and survived another round. QUINCY, מאַסע. (יולי 31, 2017) – אויף שבת נאַכט, ויגוסט 5, three-time world title challenge Aleksandra Lopes (17-4-2, 1 קאָ) is taking on former world super lightweight champion Lisa Garland (15-7-1, 8 קאָס) in the eight-round co-featured event on theFight Night at the Bay” קאָרט, largely to try and better position herself for one final world title shot.

Fight Night at the Bay” קאָרט, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, will be held at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, מאַססאַטשוסעטץ.
Former New England. וועלטערווייט מייַסטער Derek Silveira (12-1, 6 קאָס), fighting out of Salem (מאַ), וועט טרעפן ערשטע וועלט טיטל טשאַללענגער מיכאל “קאַלט בלוט” קלאַרק (44-16-1, 18 קאָס) in the eight-round main event.
Poland-native Lopes (17-4-2, 1 קאָ), fighting out of Marshfield (מאַ), is a 37-year-old lawyer who practices in Brockton (מאַ). She lost a pair of vacant World Boxing Council (וובק) Super Welterweight title fights to a Pole in Poland, Swede in Sweden. Last September, Lopes lost a 10-round decision to Ewa Piatkowska (9-1) in Poland; she dropped a 10-round majority decision in Sweden to Mikaela Lauren (22-3) אין 2014. אין 2013, Lopes lost a 10-round unanimous decision in Rhode Island to Tori Nelson (6-0-3) for the vacant International Boxing Association (יבאַ) World Welterweight Championship.
The highlight of Lopes’ 8 ½-year professional career, אַזוי ווייַט, is her 10-round complete shutout (100-90 רענטגענ 3) decision victory, יולי 30, 2016, צו Szilvia Szagbados (13-6) אין פּלימאָוטה (מאַ) for the vacant WBC Silver female welterweight crown. Lopes has also defeated world champions Yvonne Reis און Kali Reis.
Lopes vs. Garland has world title fight implications for the winner. “I’d like to position myself for one more world title shot,” Lopes said. “I’m still learning every fight and I haven’t reached my plateau yet. Garland has good experience, she’s been around as long as I’ve been fighting. I can’t afford to lose this fight, but I’ve always had that in the back of my mind. I need an experienced opponent like her to push me, to learn something new, and I always like to fight at home.
It’s tough to fight here (יו.עס.) for a world title. You almost always need to travel overseas. We’re limited here because of the required purse (for the defending champion to come to the states) and sanctioning fees for promoters in America. Women’s boxing is more popular in Europe, Mexico and parts of South America. But I have had a very good run and great relationships with New England promoters, who’ve put me on their cards.
I think women’s boxing maybe, just maybe, will start changing if the trend continues as fighters such as Clarissa Shields און Katie Taylor, women boxers who’ve made names in the Olympics, keep turning pro. אַמאַנדאַ סערראַנאָ has gotten some good exposure fighting on television, צו. We’ve had to travel for world title fights but, hopefully, things are changing for the better.
Other top N.E. boxers will also be in action אויגוסט. 5, including Iraq War veteran Chris Traietti (23-4, 19 קאָס), of Quincy, ווער סקווערז אַוועק קעגן Nick Lavin (4-5, 4 קאָס), of Shelton (קאָרט) for the vacant New England cruiserweight title in an eight-round bout. Traietti is also the co-promoter ofFight Night at the Bay”.
Fighting on the undercard in six-round bouts are Dorchester (מאַ) וועלטערוועיגהט Gabriel Duluc (11-2, 2 קאָס) ווס. Norwalk’s (קאָרט) Shakha Moore (12-23-3, 2 קאָס), Quincy’s undefeated U.S. Marine veteran Brandon Montella (7-0, 6 קאָס) ווס. Florida light heavyweight “געלט” מייק סויער (7-8, 5 קאָס), and Ireland-native and Quincy junior middleweight Paddy Irwin (3-0, 2 קאָס) ווס. Philly’s Demetrius Thomas (0-4). Holbrook, MA welterweight Mike O’Han, דזשוניער. (1-0) takes on Dorchester’s (מאַ) Daniel Amaro (0-2-1) in a four-round match.

Derek Silveira making up for lost time HeadliningFight Night at the Bay

פֿאַר באַלדיק מעלדונג
שבת נאַכט, ויגוסט 5, in Quincy, מאַ
QUINCY, מאַסע. (יולי 18, 2017) – Former New England. וועלטערווייט מייַסטער Derek Silveira Is trying to make up for lost time, 3 ½ years of ring inactivity from the summer of 2013 until this past April, as he prepares to headline the August 5טהFight Night at the Bay” קאָרט, presented by Granite Chin Promotions, at Marina Bay Sportplex in Quincy, מאַססאַטשוסעטץ.
Silveira (12-1, 6 קאָס), fighting out of Salem (מאַ), will face former world title challenger מיכאל “קאַלט בלוט” קלאַרק (44-16-1, 18 קאָס) in the eight-round main event.
The 31-year-old Silveira fought for a long time with bones spurs in his right elbow. He underwent surgery and later went to training camp in Las Vegas for a fight that, צומ באַדויערן, fell through. דעמאָלט, as a worker for a moving company, he fell through steps, resulting in torn labrum in his left hip. It took a terribly frustrating 1 ½ years for his insurance company to finally approve the operation, which was followed, אַוואַדע, by a lengthy therapy program.
A long process,” Silveira said. “It was tough watching everybody fight while I was unable. I even had to watch guys fight for the New England title that I never lost in the ring but was unable to keep because I couldn’t fight.
Silveira was a decorated New England amateur boxer with more than 300 שוועבעלעך, including six consecutive Central Mass (לאָוועלל) Golden Gloves titles and two New England championships (he lost a decision one year to current world junior middleweight champion דעמעטריוס אַנדראַדע), as well as multiple Rocky Marciano Tournament gold medals to go along with those he won at the Silver Mittens and Junior Olympics.
איצט 31 and having fought the past 20 יאָרן, Silveira is hungry to prove himself on a grander scale, אָנהייב אויגוסט. 5 with Clark. “He will be a good test for me for a comparison to where I was in the past,” Silveira commented about his veteran opponent. “Clark is a veteran who fights on his toes. I used to watch him when he was on די קאַנטענדער (televised realty show). My sparring partner back then was (די שפּעט) Jeff Fraza, who also was on די קאַנטענדער. It’ll be good to see where I am.
I grew up as a boxer. I had huge legs, strong upper body, and good footwork. I played soccer as a kid. I lacked power. The last few years I’ve worked on my power. איצט, איך בין אַ באָקסער-לעכלער. פֿאַר דעם קאַמף, I will start out boxingmy endurance will be thereand then I’ll look to take him out in the later rounds. I want to look good and not get hit by his strong right hand.
Silveira has one of the largest fan-bases in New England, largely from North Shore (פון באָסטאָן) קהילות, and Derek knows that they will be out in force supporting him אויגוסט. 5. “My fans travel,” he insisted. “Quincy isn’t too far from the North Shore, certainly closer than Foxwoods (Mashantucket, קאָרט), and I had a lot of fans there. My fans are overpowering; so loud and a little crazy.”.
Many of NE’s other best and most popular professional boxers will be in action אויגוסט. 5. The eight-round fight between three-time world title challenger, וועלטערוועיגהט Aleksandra Lopes (17-4-2, 1 קאָ), of Marshfield (מאַ), and former world super lightweight champion Lisa Garland (15-7-1, 8 קאָס) has been elevated to co-feature because of its potential world title fight implications for the winner.
Quincy fighter Chris Traietti (23-4, 19 קאָס) פנימער Nick Lavin (4-5, 4 קאָס), of Shelton (קאָרט) for the vacant New England cruiserweight title in an eight-round bout. Traietti is also the co-promoter ofFight Night at the Bay”, in addition to being a former World Boxing Council (וובק) United States cruiserweight titlist, college graduate and Iraq War veteran.
Fighting on the undercard in six-round bouts are Dorchester (מאַ) וועלטערוועיגהט Gabriel Duluc (11-2, 2 קאָס) ווס. Norwalk’s (קאָרט) Shaka Moore (12-23-3, 2 קאָס), Quincy’s undefeated U.S. Marine veteran Brandon Montella (7-0, 6 קאָס) ווס. He was definitely the toughest I’ve fought,” Gonzalez said after the fight. “I still have to work on things in the gym. I didn’t go to the body like I did in my last few fights. New England’s Future 3is presented by Rivera Promotions Entertainment (רפּע), which is owned and operated by retired three-time, צוויי אָפּטייל וועלט מייַסטער דזשאָסע אַנטאָניאָ ריוועראַ און זיין זון, Anthonee (אַ.דזש.) ריוועראַ.
Undefeated prospect Irvin Gonzalez (6-0, 6 קאָס), 21, headlines at home in his first scheduled eight-round bout, קעגן Raul Lopez (10-2-1, 5 קאָס), פון בראנקס (ניו יאָרק), for the vacant UBF All-American super featherweight championship.
I am excited to be able to have our first world championship boxing match on our ‘New England’s 3’ באָקסינג געשעעניש,” promoter Jose Rivera commented. “It’s special because it’s a women’s World Heavyweight title fight with veterans like Sonya and Laura, who also have some hostilities towards one another. They’ve both earned this opportunity to fight for the UBF Women’s World Heavyweight Championship. I expect fireworks and know fans will be in for a treat.
Pro boxing returns to the DCU Center for the first time אין 11 יאָרן, when promoter Jose Antonio Rivera defeated Alejandro גאַרסיאַ, by way of a 12-round unanimous decision, for the World Boxing Association (וובאַ) World super welterweight title.
Born in Greece, Lamonakis (10-2-2, 1 קאָ), who grew-up in Turners Falls (מאַ), is a teacher in New York City. She is a Springfield College graduate and has two Master’s Degrees. “I’m honored to be fighting in the first world title fight in Worcester since Jose Rivera,” Lamonakis said. “I’m from Massachusetts and I fought twice at Mechanics Hall (אין Worcester, including her pro debut in 2010). I heard Jose was promoting shows in Worcester, so I called to say I’d like to fight for a world title on one of his cards. I think he saw me fight before and he quickly agreed.
This is still a make-dominates sport. I tell young girls to box as a side job. I have two Master’s Degrees and I’m a full-time teacher in New York. Boxing is my hobby. Very few women can make enough money boxing to make a good living. I don’t know if it’s because I was born in Greece and boxing is in my blood, but I love this sport and that’s what keeps me going. I guess I was born to fight. I enjoy getting in the ring. I’ve gotten a lot from boxing and now I’m giving back to amateurs in New York City as president of a youth organization.
Lamonakis; is a former International Boxing Organization World and New York State female heavyweight champion. Her opponent, Ramsey (10-7, קאָס), as a two-time world title challenger is hoping the third time is the charm for her. They have history together and this fight nearly happened a few years ago.
I beat her daughter (Alysia Williams-Stevenson) in my second pro fight,” Lamonakis explained. “She said she’s see me and now, seven years later, we’re fighting. She’s a little older than me and I needed more fights before I fought her. We were supposed to fight a few years ago in Aruba but a hurricane cancelled the show.

Budding star Irvin Gonzalez Starting to make waves in Super featherweight division

פֿאַר באַלדיק מעלדונג
New England’s Future 3June 10th אין Worcester, מאַ

Worcester, מאַסע. (מייַ 24, 2017) – New England’s top prospect with 10 pro fights of less, undefeated hometown favorite Irvin Gonzalez, is on a fast track going into his June 10טה headline fight in the third installment of the “ניו ענגלאַנד 'ס צוקונפֿט” סעריע, ביי די DCU צענטער (Exhibition Hall) אין Worcester, מאַססאַטשוסעטץ.

New England’s Future 3is presented by Rivera Promotions Entertainment (רפּע), which is owned and operated by retired three-time, צוויי אָפּטייל וועלט מייַסטער דזשאָסע אַנטאָניאָ ריוועראַ און זיין זון, Anthonee (אַ.דזש.) ריוועראַ.
The 21-year-old Gonzalez (6-0, 6 קאָס) נעמט אויף Raul Lopez (10-2-1, 5 קאָס), פון בראנקס (ניו יאָרק), in an eight-round main event for the vacant Universal Boxing Federation (ובף) All-American super featherweight championship.
Pro boxing returns to the DCU Center for the first time אין 11 יאָרן, יראָניקאַללי, when promoter Jose Antonio Rivera defeated Alejandro גאַרסיאַ, by way of a 12-round unanimous decision, for the World Boxing Association (וובאַ) World super welterweight title.
I am excited to watch Irvin’s boxing career flourish,” promoter Jose Rivera remarked. “He has all the tools to become a world champion. Fighting for the UBF championship will be the first of many and I am glad that we are able to give him this opportunity. I see big things for Irvin and I hope fans come out שבת נאַכט, יוני 10טה, to support him and the other local boxers.”.
“דאס איז אַ גרויס געלעגנהייט פֿאַר מיר,” גאָנזאַלעז געזאגט. “I’m blessed to be fighting in Worcester for my first title. It’s not a big title but it’s like taking baby steps to a world title. Since I started boxing at the Boys & Girls Club, I always wanted to be like Jose, a three-time world champion. איצט, it’s my turn, and I’m fighting again in my city.
Gonzalez has a perfect pro record: six rights, six wins by knockout. אָבער, he’s only had fought a grand total of eight rounds, and June 10טה he’s in a scheduled eight-round match. The well-spoken youngster isn’t concerned with the step up in rounds and opposition.
I’ve been asked about that by a lot of media, trainers and other fighters,” he explained. “I’ve always trained like it’s for a world title fight, 12 ראָונדס, so I’m not worried about going into deep water. I’m in magnificent shape, three weeks before the fight, and even in the amateurs I’ve always gotten stronger as the fight went along. In sparring, I get stronger, so going eight isn’t a problem for me.
I don’t really know much about my opponent. He won a few national titles but hasn’t fought too often. I’ll see what he brings into the ring and then adjust. I know I’m taller.
Gonzalez learned a lot when he was a sparring partner for גויללערמאָ ריגאָנדעאַוקס in Florida that was supposed to be a six-week training camp that ended after three weeks due to Rigondeauxfight being cancelled.
I learned a lot about different training methods that I now use,” Irvin continued. “His techniques are phenomenal. I was around a world champion, two-time Olympic gold medalist and I saw his work ethic. After all he’s accomplished, he still has a great work ethic, and I learned from him that a fighter need continue working like he does until the day it’s all over. It’s not all about money, it’s having fun every day, doing what we love.

Worcester, מאַסע. (אַפּריל 2, 2017) – Popular Massachusetts heavyweight VinnieAmerican NightmareCarita was too much for former South American champion Gilberto MatheusEl MagicoDomingos in last night’sNew England’s Future 2main event at Worcester Palladium. A capacity crowd of 1,700 rocked the vintage venue from start to finish.
New England’s Future 2was presented by Rivera Promotions Entertainment (רפּע), which is owned and operated by retired three-time, צוויי אָפּטייל וועלט מייַסטער דזשאָסע אַנטאָניאָ ריוועראַ און זיין זון, שאַדכן Anthonee (אַ.דזש.) ריוועראַ. Rivera announced thatNew England’s Future 3will be held June 10th at DCU Center, Exhibition Hall, אין Worcester.
Carita (16-1-1, 15 קאָס), fighting out of Pembroke (מאַ), unleashed a relentless body attack on his Brazilian foe, Domingos (22-7, 20 קאָס), who was unable to answer the bell for the second round due to damaged ribs.
I was hoping to get in more rounds but unfortunately I didn’t get ’em הייַנט בייַ נאַכט,” Carita (pictured to the right) קאַמענטאַד. “Based on his record, I thought he’d be more competitive, but that fell short. I keep stepping up (quality of his opponents) but they haven’t lasted with me.
Matt Remillard (ר) was home once again in the ring.
The feel-good story of the evening was the long awaited return of Manchester (קאָרט) לייטווייט מאַט “Sharp ShooterRemillard (24-1, 13 קאָס), who was incarcerated five years and hadn’t fought in six. Mauras was deducted a point in the fourth round for headbutting.
I was a little rusty but I got better as the fight went on,” Remillard said. “He’s a tough kid who was slippery inside. If the fight went a little longer, I think I would have gotten him out of there.
Worcester heavyweight Bryan Daniels (4-0, 2 קאָס) געבליבן ונדעפעאַטעד, dropping “געלט” מייק סויער (7-8, 5 קאָס) four times in the opening round, the last coming on the end of a vicious left-hook, resulting in referee מייק רייאַן immediatelty stopped the contest without counting.
