ST. САНКТ-ПЕТЕРБУРГ, Росія (Серпня 22, 2017) – M-1 Global will promote the first international mixed-martial-arts event in Republic of Tatarstan history, Вересень 23, as Kazan, Russia hosts M-1 Challenge 83: Tatfight 5.

The main event of the evening will be a light heavyweight bout between American invader Брендон “Бик” Хелсі (9-3-0, М-1: 0-1-0), the two-time Bellator champion, і Михайло Рагозін (8-2-0, М-1: 3-0-0), a National Pankration champion of Russia who is also a pupil of legendary Russian MMA fighter Олександр Шлеменко.

The inaugural M-1 Challenge Flyweight Championship will be contested as the two Grand Prix finalists, Ukrainian MMA National Champion Alexander Doskalchuk (7-1-0, М-1: 1-0-0) takes on Russian Вадим “Bad Santa” Malygin (11-2-1, М-1: 2-1-1), who is a multiple regional champion in hand-to-hand combat and kickboxing.

Also scheduled to fight on the growing M-1 Challenge 83 card is Georgian champion Рауль Tutarauli (17-3-0, М-1: 5-1-0) against multiple Russian Army hand-to-hand combat champion Vladimir Kanunnikov (8-0-0, М-1: 0-0-0) in an M-1 Challenge lightweight eliminator to determine the No. 1 суперник.

The international MMA event will coincide with the 25^ї anniversary celebration of the Republic of Ingushetia.

The M-1 Challenge bantamweight championship fight between defending champion Павло Вітрука (14-2-0), and interim titlist Movsar Evloev (7-0, М-1: 7-0) had been previously announced for M-1 Challenge 81.

The two giant heavyweights fighting on the card are each world ranked by Fightmatrix, both preferring early endings as they have 40 combined knockouts. This exciting duel is a fitting addition for such a grand tournament like M-1 Challenge 81: The Battle of the Mountains 6.

Russian strongman Kharitonov (24-6-0, М-1: 4-0-0) is coming off a devastating, one-punch knockout of American Рамо Тьєррі Sokoudjou in the opening round of their main event fight, Червень 15 в Китаї, на M-1 Challenge 80. Below is a Q & A with the veteran MMA promoter:

Can you tell us about plans for upcoming M-1 Global events?

В.Ф.: “In the next 2-3 months we will promote an extremely full schedule of events. Through the middle of Червеньe, we will promote five – I’m not afraid to use these words – grandiose tournaments. 22 квітня there’s an event being held in Nazran, which was arranged with the support of the local government, and dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Ingushetia. На Травня 19ї, in collaboration with Rostec and Rosoboronexport corporations, we will hold a truly spectacular event in Sochi. Our traditional tournament in Orenburg is set for May 26th, which regularly takes place at the highest level with a crowded venue. Fans are interested in fighters whose performances will decorate these tournaments. Can you reveal some of the competing fighters?

В.Ф.: “We will really surprise the audience at these events. A lot of negotiations are ongoing, including those with fighters who are the TopP-20 ranked fighters in the world. This fight is interesting for fans and we will try to make it happen. People are starting to understand more and more about MMA and we are making fights that our fans want to happen. How do you fight the departure of your fighters to the West?

В.Ф.: “Here, I disagree with you. It used to be that way.
